    Hi ladies
I'll even out the numbers a bit.. We are having a girl!

A bit nervous about the results of scan. I might be active my paranoid but observing my technician I was thinking maybe something is abnormal???? Hope I'm being crazy!

@mrs.kiwi: Congrats on your girl! Did they say anything was wrong or have the doctor come in to take more stills? If not I'd try not to worry!

@ms.line: thankfully it was me being paranoid.. Results are normal! The tech was pretty chatty and then seemed like she stopped all of a sudden. And then she got a piece of paper and started writing on it and saying something about making sure she gets everything.. Which seemed weird by she's been doing this for 12 years and she is the supervisor!

    Anyway- so very thankful.

    @californiadreams: thank you!

Is anyone dressing up their bump for Halloween?

Our friends' kid's birthday is around Halloween and he is having a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle party and the whole family is dressing up. We also do a 5K fun run that is Halloween themed with this family, so DH and I are dressing up like the (old-school cartoon version) villains - Shredder (DH) and Krang (me). Still figuring how to pull it off, but I'm excited. Here is a picture of Krang:

@TemperanceBrennan: haha that will be awesome! i thought about it, but i don't think i am doing anything special for Halloween. I am taking LO out to a Halloween event on a farm, but the parents don't generally dress up there.

    @mrs.kiwi: awesome on the results!

@TemperanceBrennan: Omg that is amazing - great idea! I was the biggest TMNT fan when I was little. Please share a pic when you have it!

I still don't have a bump so I don't think I can really plan a fun preggo costume.

I forgot to come back and post gender. We sent these to family and friends (told them we were finding out the gender later than we actually were to surprise everyone!) We are so thrilled!!

@Kelley_lovelikecrazy: That's a really cute gender reveal! I am always amazed at how creative some people are!!

How is everyone doing? I hope most of your nasty symptoms have subsided and you're happily into the high-energy second trimester.

I'm doing great, still loving being pregnant! My lower back and hips are starting to hurt, and my bump is getting big enough to be in the way a lot now, so I'm having to be much more careful about leaving distance between me and things. We're starting renovations on our house in a couple weeks, so we're busy getting ready for that and it's zapping all my newfound energy. But it'll make for a great nursery and new bathroom, so I can't wait!

@saboma: I'm doing well. Have my 20-week ultrasound today and then I'm heading out of town for work. I hope after my appointment today I will feel a bit more comfortable and actually start getting things ready. I've surprised myself so far with how little I have done and how easy I have had it.

@ms.line: I want a bump too! You look great though! Good job on checking things off your list!

@TemperanceBrennan: Good luck with your US today! So fun you get to see your little one! Remember to tell them to turn the monitor away when they get "down there." Don't want any spoilers!

I saw my midwife yesterday and all looks and sounds good. I'm measuring at 24 weeks (I'm technically 22), so between that and the US a few weeks ago, it looks like I'm having a big baby. Joy! Other than that, I'm finally getting over my cold (poor DH has it now) and loving the Fall weather we're getting in Boston.

    Hope you're all doing well!

how is everyone doing? second trimester is so boring and uneventful, haha. i am still just anxiously counting down the days/weeks. I am excited that this weekend DH painted LO1's big boy room, so once it's all set up, i can focus on getting the nursery for LO2 ready.

I am also still on the hunt for the perfect glider. well i found the perfect glider, but still looking because it is ridiculously expensive!

how is everyone sleeping these days? i am starting to have to get up a few times a night to pee now and starting to have some trouble getting into comfortable positions due to my growing bump. I think i will be pulling out the snoogle soon.

@californiadreams: I pulled out my preggo pillow moths ago 😊

I am good.. Thankful for baby's kicks and always smile with disbelief when y husband refers to baby as our/my daughter. It's so weird hearin that!!!

We are moving soon (renting to renting) so busy with that. Sad to move further from some loved ones but happy that husband's commute will be 10 mi each way versus 1+ hour each way. With two kids I'm sure we'll both be glad for that extra time not commuting!

hope everyone's second trimesters are going well.. Nows the time to get stuff done haha!

@californiadreams: I need to get on getting the rooms all set up! We need to buy new furniture for E so that we can move the crib and dresser into the new nursery... which needs to be cleared out still.

@mrs.kiwi: It is weird to refer to our daughter... I'm still getting used to the idea of having a little girl around, I'm so used to baby boys!

Things are rolling along here in the second trimester. We had our official anatomy scan last week and everything looks great. I've been having a lot of round ligament pain, just a whole lot more sore this time around than I was for #1. My doctor suggested some yoga and a support belt, so I need to try them out. We're more than halfway there ladies!!

  23. californiadreams

    pomegranate / 3411 posts

@kiddosc: furniture was a big one for me too, and i was so excited when i finally ordered some a couple of weeks ago. Now that his room is painted, i feel like the rest will be easy and it will be done! sorry you are having to deal with the RL pain i hope it gets better. I am looking into doing a prenatal yoga class because i really enjoyed it last time. finding the time is the problem this time.

Doing well over here! Had the anatomy scan last week and reconfirmed it's a boy
Feeling pretty good at 20 weeks - trying to keep up with walking and some exercise to hopefully alleviate/stave off any upcoming pains. Last pregnancy, I could barely bend down towards the last month or two and I don't want that happening this time! As for sleep,
I've been getting up multiple times a night to use the bathroom almost since the beginning, so I'm used to it but still on the hunt for a good dark circle cream! 😯

Also we're planning to go furniture shopping next month. We need a bed and dresser for M and a new dresser for the baby's room. Have to reorganize some clothes and start decorating!

Hey all, everything looked good at my ultrasound, but I have one squirmy baby! Almost every picture they got was a little blurry, the sonographer got as many pictures as she could and then the doctor came to look at things in person because the pictures weren't great. Neither ended up getting a picture they need of the spine, so I have to go back next week.

The baby also wouldn't cooperate when they were trying to determine sex. We had to look away several times which got awkward because DH and I just looked at each other and it took a long time!

@ms.line: I'm in the same boat. Now that I've had the ultrasound, I'm finally getting around to figuring out my to-do list! It's getting long.

@californiadreams: I'm actually sleeping pretty well these days. I think it is a combination of the cooler weather outside and I've been sleeping with a ton of pillows around me which (I think) makes my body less restless. I don't toss and turn as much for some reason. I'll take it while I can get it.

@mrs.kiwi: @kiddosc: There's something a little sweeter knowing that a baby girl is on the way.

@fancyfunction: I pee around midnight and 4:30 every night. It's like clockwork - and very annoying!

    Hope everyone is enjoying fall!

@TemperanceBrennan: Glad to hear everything went well! So funny, my baby was too lazy, so I have to go back for more pictures of the heart! You guys are still TG, right? Why did they need to determine the sex? Just interesting how different practices work; my tech couldn't tell the sex either, but since we didn't want to know she didn't worry about it. Hoping we won't have an "oops" on our second take! BTW, do you have bump yet? (I don't, haha!)

I did manage to get all my classes and my photographer booked (even though she just had a baby herself last Saturday!). Finding a doula is proving harder than anticipated - they've all been really flakey so far. I might just pay the extra money to go through an agency at this point. We're hitting up IKEA tomorrow to get a crib and dresser, which is exciting.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

@ms.line: did u get the crib and dresser? I was excited last week because we ordered DS's new big boy furniture. I am determined to finish his room by his bday next month so i can then focus on getting ready for the baby.

I just had an ultrasound this morning. Was nice to see my boy (and i asked to reconfirm that he is in fact a boy, lol, and he was!). I have to get ultrasounds every few weeks i think now due to my high blood pressure. Last time DS, it was so much fun getting to see him all the time (and everything was always good, so i never had anything to worry about).

oh and i am 24 weeks today, which i know is supposed to be exciting because it is "viability day". But after my migraine i got yesterday that lasted all night until i threw up this morning before work, all i could think was "ugh, 16 more weeks sounds like a LONG time to go!"

  31. ms.line

    pear / 1770 posts

@californiadreams: Yes, we got our crib, a dresser, and a changing table that coverts into a desk later on. We spent all day Saturday assembling furniture and I was *beat* on Sunday!! Glad I didn't wait any longer to get that taken care of!

I have an ultrasound this afternoon, and I'm excited but also bummed that it will probably be my last. It's so nice you get to have a little peek every few weeks for the rest of your pregnancy! Hooray for hitting 24 weeks! (Although I agree, February seems like an eternity away still.)

@californiadreams: I'm just one day ahead of you, so I had a mini celebration with myself yesterday for reaching 24 weeks! Yay! But I also told baby that that wasn't a sign to move any faster. Stay nice and warm in there for a while longer!

February definitely feels far away still! But then I think about the holidays coming up, and how that part of the year always goes so fast. So before we know it, we'll be in January, and bam! It's baby month!

We still have a lot of work to do on the nursery. The contractor is coming to move walls and fix the bathroom next week, so hopefully after that we can get working on buying furniture and decorating. Still haven't quite decided on a theme or color, but we still have time.

Just had my 24-week glucose test this morning. Blech! That stuff they make you drink is SO disgusting. I am not a sugary drink person usually, so it was really hard for me to stomach that. And so bright orange! Hopefully the blood work comes back clear and I don't have to do it again.

Other than that, appointment with the midwife went well. Baby is measuring 1 week ahead, and HB was a solid 142bpm.

I've been feeling lots of movement. Last night, for the first time, baby responded to my prodding. I felt a push (I think it was an elbow), and I pushed back gently. Then baby pushed right back in that spot! Happened a couple times, it was the coolest thing ever! I can't wait to meet this LO!
