@oskarsmommy: Awww thanks!!! I saw you are on the March board!!! Yayayayaaa congrats. I'm still nervous. My next appt is Aug 11th for the first tri screening....eek. Hoping those results are good

@Ajsmommy: Thanks! I have my first ultrasound next tuesday - time is moving soooooo sloooowly! I hear ya - there are a few big milestones to get past - good luck on the next one!!

@WyattnewbabysMama: Welcome! What a surprise that must have been to see those lines. Even when trying, there's something shocking about seeing those lines
How is everyone feeling? I'm counting the days until the first tri is over, and hoping that's the end of my nausea. All I can eat is salted popcorn, buttered bagels and Granny Smith apples. (well, not ALL, but most. Lol)

@gentlelunette: Sooo exhausted but of course when it's time to sleep I can't. Really hoping I have some more energy 2nd trimester!
Most foods just don't sound appetizing either.

Overall I'm just feeling anxious (but what's new?)
I only feel sick once a week or so, so I can deal with that. My reflux seems to be coinciding with my progesterone levels (the better the level, the worse the reflux) so I can't complain too much about it being bad.
Next follow up is Friday morning and I'm ready for it to be here already! I'm thankful my doctor wanted to get me in before his vacation so I don't have another two weeks to wait.

@gentlelunette: I'm feeling pretty good. Nauseous in the mornings..... I'm still having a hard time with food. Nothing ever sounds good.

I am losing my mind, but it's only partially pregnancy related. My husband's out of town for work for two weeks, my son has HFM and his behavior is deteriorating by the day. We're seriously struggling over here.
kiwi / 698 posts
@josina: yes, so tired. I got this afternoon slump every day where I can hardly keep my eyes open, and my nausea gets super bad. It's terrible!
@MaryM: sorry you're feeling anxious. I wish I had a window into my uterus so I could check in on baby and make sure everything was okay! I had reflux so bad last time, from about 16w- delivery. It's killer! Hope it eases up for you soon. Fingers crossed everything is great on Friday!
@Ajsmommy: nothing ever sounds good to me either. It sucks! I'm hungry all the time, but all food is so unappealing!
@gilmoregirl: oh gosh, that sounds terrible! I'm sorry! My husband has been travelling a lot and it's so so hard. Add to that a sick babe and I can't even imagine how you're managing! You will get through this. Sending you good vibes that he gets better soon!

Appointment today went well! We had a quick ultrasound and the baby was moving all around and waved at us. I had the 1st tri bloodwork done and blood taken for the NIPT.
My doctor also ordered a first tri screening (NT) and I'll have that done at a lab in a couple weeks. I hope we get some good pictures from that because my doctor's machine isn't the most detailed.

@MaryM: Congrats for a great appointment and ultrasound!
I have my appointment this afternoon and I'm not expecting another ultrasound. I hope that I'm pleasantly surprised..I have so anxiety that we won't hear a heartbeat with the doppler. I am 10 weeks, so I'm sure if it's likely that we would or not.
pomelo / 5129 posts
@NorthStar: We haven't heard a heartbeat at all. We've seen it in ultrasounds, but the doctor hasn't played it at all for us. I wonder if he doesn't worry about it since we see it or if maybe he just wants to wait until later?
pear / 1881 posts
@MaryM: yeah, since you are seeing it, you are fine. I haven't had any appointment at all since 6/30, so if we cannot hear it on the doppler today, I'm not sure if they will do an ultrasound or send me home to come back in a week. If they do the latter, it will be a loss ass week wondering if there is a baby with a beating heart in there.
pomelo / 5129 posts
@NorthStar: Do they have ultrasound in the office? I doubt they'd leave you to wait a week this far along.
pear / 1881 posts
@MaryM: yeah, they do have a few machines. I just wish I knew what they will be doing at this appointment!
pomegranate / 3355 posts
@MaryM: great update! so neat that baby was moving all around and waved!! awwww...
@NorthStar: good luck at your appt. I sure hope you get to see that little bean or hear the heartbeat

Someone in a Facebook group offered me their Doppler so I requested it today. I didn't want to get it too early And freak myself out. Hopefully I still don't freak!

@MaryM: yay for a great appointment!
@NorthStar: hope everything went well!
We had our appointment today. Heartbeat was 167, and little peanut was squirming around. Measured 11w6d. Next up is the NT scan on 8/1!
pear / 1881 posts
@MrsA: yes, it went well! She actually found the heartbeat right away and it hovered around 180. I am SO relieved and will go back in two weeks for the materni21 test. I just have to double check that the scheduler didn't make it too late.
apricot / 444 posts
@MaryM: oh good someone to count down the days with!! I'm excited to get past the nt and feel ok sharing the news.
@NorthStar: hurray! Sounds like a great appointment
Well, I gave up and wore maternity shorts yesterday and they were so dang comfortable. Just need to try to keep it under wraps at work for another week or two. Happy weekend to all! Any fun plans??
pomelo / 5129 posts
@MrsA: we drove four and a half hours to the beach last weekend and I pulled out maternity pants for the drive. Such a good idea!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MaryM: So awesome to see baby!
@MrsA: @NorthStar: Yay for hearing the heartbeat, I can't wait for that - 1-1/2 weeks!
@MrsA: I got my belly band out last week w/ the ponytail to stretch my jean button... so much more comfortable!
Had some major bleeding last night after sex which makes me nervous, but nothing today so hopefully just irritated cervix? 24 hr nurse just said to call my dr. first thing Monday. Makes me more nervous that I'm RH Negative, but I think this early should be okay? Blech. Sorry DH, no more sex for you till DR okays it!
pomegranate / 3601 posts
Sorry for falling off the bandwagon here.
@josina: bleeding sounds really scary. Hope you're doing better today.
@MaryM: yay, for a good appointment and for finding a doppler. Hope it helps ease your fears.
@MrsA: On the maternity clothes. I still have a couple of normal clothes but mostly I am completely in maternity clothes.
@NorthStar: yay to hearing the heartbeat!
Mid last week was the first time someone from work actually asked whether I was pregnant. Ha I wasn't even 10w But I didn't see the point in denying it either.

I'm going to try to hold out on letting work know for a bit. I'm only about 9 weeks. And I'd love to get past my son's first birthday before I share (5 more weeks!). Who knows if thats possible though. This weekend we visited my BIL and SIL (who is also pregnant--12 weeks! YAY! for super-close-in-age-cousins!) and it was so nice to just be "publically" pregnant and not worry if I was showing.
Unrelated, has anyone ever had shingles while pregnant before? I went to the doctor this morning and was diagnosed with them. But he wouldn't give me a prescription for the anti-viral until I hear back from my OB that its okay so now I'm just waiting for my OB's call back. I hope it's alright b/c they are really really uncomfortable!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Pumuckl: Thanks, no more bleeding and my dr's office just said no sex/heavy exercise at least until my appt. next week. I hope that doesn't become a 6 month sentence!
@WyattnewbabysMama: Never had shingles but that does NOT sound fun!! Hope you can take something for it!
olive / 59 posts
@josina: So glad to hear no more bleeding! That is so scary!
I got impatient waiting on my OB to email me back so I called her office and learned she's on vacation. Another OB in the office then called the urgent care doctor I saw and then called me back to say that since my shingles were "mild" she'd advise against taking the anti-viral in first trimester. Meanwhile, my OB emailed back to say it was fine. Uh... now what? My shingles be shingling!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@WyattnewbabysMama: oh man, what kind of answer is that?! Can you talk to your OB and let them know what the other OB said and make them come to a consensus so you're not the one deciding? It'd make me nervous for sure.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@josina: glad things are back to normal.
@WyattnewbabysMama: no experience on the shingles but hopefully your docs can sort things out.
I have a crazy workweek ahead with some extended business travel but it's the last week before we go on vacation. I think it might be a blessing though to hopefully keep me distracted from my fears of something going wrong. It's pretty crazy to still be so scared. Really hope the NT scan will help a little when hopefully all is good with the kiddos. I HATE the first trimester with a passion . Sorry to be such a downer...
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Pumuckl: I HATE it also, I kept thinking my appt. was only 1-1/2 weeks away... its TWO 1/2 weeks away, and especially with the bleeding makes me want to hear that heart beat even more!! Please time go by fast.

Anyone else know what they are having yet? We got our NIPT results yesterday and we are having a baby GIRL! I am so excited! My intuition was telling me girl because this pregnant has been different from my pregnancy with my son, but we have a lot of boys in both our families so I tried not to get too set one way or another. But I am so thrilled! Now to buy lots of girl outfits!
pomelo / 5129 posts
@maggierose: We're hoping to get our results by the end of this week. I'm thinking boy.
Congrats!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@maggierose: So exciting! I won't find out until October. So far everyone is thinking girl, but the pregnancy has been the same as with DS, and I don't want to let myself think either way yet so there's no gender disappointment.
I'd love a girl, but would also love to give DS a brother.
olive / 60 posts
@josina: That's how I felt, too. I knew it would be nice either way, either DS having a brother, or me to have the daughter experience! Either way you'll be thrilled I'm sure I was at work and involuntarily squealed when they told me the results over the phone. I'm not sure how I managed to wait until 20 weeks to find out last time!
@MaryM: Can't wait to hear what you're having!
I'm 12 weeks as of yesterday and still feeling nauseous. Ugh, please go away! I also think I'm only going to get another week or two max out of my regular clothes...pants are getting TIGHT to close...but I've been putting off getting the maternity clothes out of storage for now. Most of my stuff from before is summer stuff since my son was a September baby, so I might as well just get the stuff out so I can get two months use out of it before it gets cold and I have to buy new stuff!

The nurse from my doctor's office called yesterday and I was like, what?? I'm not supposed to have results until Friday!
But she just had the results of the other tests (RH factor, thyroid etc)
Womp womp...
My OB thought my thyroid was fine, but my specialist who's monitoring my hormones wanted to see it a little lower (it's 2.4 and she wants it at 2) so she doubled my thyroid meds. Hopefully that might also help my other hormones (my progesterone came up a little, but not a ton, so we get to keep stabbing my butt!)
We're supposed to find out the gender by Friday, but I think I might talk to DH about announcing it to anyone publicly until after Monday when we have our NT scan so we can make sure everything is ok. It hasn't even been a week since we saw the baby last so I don't know why I'm so worried...
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@maggierose: lol to the phone squeal
Another pro to having a boy is that it gives me a better arguing point for having a 3rd (to try for a girl), otherwise DH is kind of set on 2.
@MaryM: Only 2 more days till you find out! So exciting!
Sorry you have to keep stabbing yourself!
10 Weeks today! The exhaustion seems to have ebbed, so thats a huge plus. I'm pretty symptom-less which is the same as DS, so REALLY can't wait to hear the heartbeat and know for sure there is a peanut in there!
apricot / 444 posts
@maggierose: so fun!! Time to start shopping
@WyattnewbabysMama: I hope you got some clarity from your Drs and your shingles are less...shingly??
@josina: I'm glad the bleeding stopped but what a scare!
@MaryM: Yay for finding out soon!
@maggierose: I'm with you on the clothes! I'm just over 12 weeks and have one or two work pants that fit now. Can't wait to be in maternity clothes full time!
Whew that was a lot of catch up! I'm 12w3d now, still a little nauseous, definitely have a belly, and can't wait for Monday's NT scan! But I'm in the interview process for a promotion so I really can't share at work until that's settled. It's going to be at least another week or two. I don't know how much longer I can hide this bump but I guess maybe if people are wondering it's none of their business until I'm ready to share?
We got to tell some family friends at dinner last night and it was so fun. Can't wait to tell others! And praying Monday's scan goes ok. I'm terrified of finding out something is wrong.

ahhh so much to catch up on!
@MrsA: @MaryM: my nt scan is on 8/1 too!! really looking forward to it/nervous...!
@josina: oof that bleeding sounds so scary! glad it stopped!
@WyattnewbabysMama: sorry about the shingles, my mil had it recently and it seems really uncomfortable
@maggierose: yay !! I got the bloodwork done last week, so probably another week before I get my results but I'm so looking forward to it! I'm thinking boy since this pregnancy is really different so far than with my daughter...
@MrsA: good luck with the interview process!
@MaryM: i hope the adjustment in your meds helps!
I'm definitely wearing more maternity clothes than normal clothes these days. though it's been so hot lately that I'm really struggling--all my maternity clothes from last time are winter clothes! Basically I have like 2 dresses that I like, haha. I'm definitely showing but not obviously enough for people to comment who don't know. But dh and my parents are like "wow!" haha. Last time it wasn't super obvious until around 18 weeks or even later, so I'm def showing more and earlier this time.
Still battling some nausea and fatigue, booooo. But it's still not as bad as my first pregnancy, it comes more in waves. Lo is REALLY mama-centric and clingy these days, like she won't let dh do bedtime (which takes foreverrrrrrr) at all which is stressing me out. Two times last week I tried to leave during it--both with dh and my dad she waited up for me to come home, aaaaah! No bueno. Last night I tried to nap before dinner and she wouldn't let me, so frustrating!
I got her a cute "Big Sister" tshirt from Etsy but we haven't given it to her, we don't want her telling people quite yet until we get the maternit21 and nt scan results next week....eeeek!
olive / 59 posts
@MrsA: and @Nana87: Good luck on your scans Monday!
My next appointment (and I presume/hope opportunity to see baby) is August 10th. They're going to take my blood for the maternity scan that day too. I am trying to remain neutral on boy/girl. I think this pregnancy feels a lot like last one which makes me think boy again. And I'd be super excited to give my little one a brother. But I can't help lingering over girl clothes a bit too....
Turns out my OB was dealing with an emergency almost all day so I ended up speaking with another Dr at my practice to wasn't comfortable with my taking the anti-virals in the first trimester. But then later that day, my OB got out of surgery and emailed me that they were safe. I've decided to hold off for now though. My shingles be shingling but I wouldn't say that they're as horrible as some of the descriptions I've seen online so for now at least I'm waiting it out. Not the most fun week I've ever had....
