Hey ladies! Not sure if everyone saw @Mrs Green Grass:'s post, but she's in the hospital after having contractions and bleeding. Should we add our email addresses to our Google doc (if you want) so we can keep her properly distracted? I don't know if anyone can add a column or if it has to be done by the original author?

@eiko2010: I added a column for emails on the google doc this morning.
@MrsGreenGrass: I've been thinking about you and hopefully you are feeling better today. If you need a chat or distraction let me know and I'll tell you every joke I know.

@oliviaoblivia: Great! Thank you!
@Mrs. Green Grass: Feel free to email me if need a break or distraction!

Added my email to the spreadsheet...also, if you've recently updated to Google Drive, you have to click on "shared with me" to find the doc. Took me way too long to figure that out.
I think we've settled on Leo for a name - I like Harrison for a middle name but we will see.
I've started to get headaches when I don't get enough water - how much water are you guys drinking all day? I was at Farm Aid on Saturday and unfortunately cut way back on the h20 after missing 3/4 of the Grace Potter set in line for the restroom. i had a giant headache yesterday.
@eiko2010: were those lines at Farm Aid INSANE or what? the stadium is def. not cut out for that many people. We skipped most of Kenny Chesney to go back to the car and grill dinner.

@dagret: i love Leo! that is really cute!
I have the big Tervis Tumbler (24 oz) but I fill it at least 3 times while I am at work (from 8-5) and at least once, usually twice when I am at home at night!
I just sip mindlessly at my desk all day - its more of a stuggle for me on the weekends or in the afternoons but having a big cup that keeps my water cold helps!
Oh! I posted about bras a few days ago. I went and bought 2 new ones (had to go up in band size - thank goodness not cup) and tried a no underwire bra . I figured it wouldn't be supportive enough since I'm now a 38 DD (wwaaahh!) but it was and it is SO comfy. If a coobie or similar bra isn't enough support for you to wear out and about try a no wire bra - i'm in heaven!

@dagret: Those lines were RIDICULOUS. At one point, we were leaving to go out to our car, and the beer line was the ENTIRE length of the stadium. Unreal! I never had to experience the bathroom line, cuz my parents dropped off a car early in the morning, so we were parked right up front under the canopy over at Chocolate World. We just kept going in and out for food, drinks, and to pee in Chocolate World. I so bummed that you missed Grace Potter - she was my favorite act of the night!
I have a 16oz tumbler at work. I try to drink 3 of those throughout the day, and then another 2 glasses at home in the evening. The key word there being "I try..." In all honesty, I probably drink about 4 16oz glasses per day on a good day.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@eiko2010: we were parked in the handicapped section by chocolate world...my husband drove over in the AM and set up our gear, he didn't know it'd be the handicapped parking. oops.
did you see a bunch of people selling pretzels and drinks in the lot right outside the stadium? that was us...We left during Kenny's set to grill, he was so loud that we could hear him just fine. I was so glad they changed their re-entry policy; there would have been a riot if they hadn't let people out.
It's harder for me to get my water in on the weekends too.
honeydew / 7504 posts
@dagret: You mean the handicapped section, right up by the entrance of Chocolate World, under the canopy? We were right there!
I didn't notice people selling pretzels and drinks - was it by the merch tent? Cuz I saw the merch tent and saw something else, but I assumed it was all part of Farm Aid, so I didn't really pay attention.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@eiko2010: we were right across the road (where all the trams run) from Chocolate World. We weren't too far from the port-a-potties and merch tent.

@dagret: Gotcha. We probably walked by you a million times. Ha ha. Did you get high-fived for being at the concert pregnant? I did. A few times.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@eiko2010: haha no high-fives for me from strangers, but i did get several from our friends! And one "are you having a baby?" question in the bathroom line.

@Mrs Green Grass added my email to the google doc! i know you have friends and family in town, but if you need anything (seriously!) please let me know!

Re: water -- I have a 24 oz Tervis tumbler, as well, and it REALLY helps me with my water intake. Having a big cup just makes it seem easier than refilling a smaller cup more times. Another huge help for me has been Crystal Light flavor packets. I get the "Pure" kind that's sweetened with Truvia and sugar -- only 3 grams of sugar a serving, I think. I use just half a packet in 24 oz, and it makes it so much easier to down the water. I drink 3 tumblers-full of flavored water + 1 tumbler of pregnancy tea a day. I even have a checklist app on my computer to help me keep track of all the stuff I'm supposed to consume every day (supplements, water, etc). Seems to work well.

Thanks everyone! I've actually been pretty busy today so I'm just getting on HB. I'm wondering if I used the wrong email for the google doc. My email address is babymakingmerrygoround@gmail.com. Thanks for all of the support. I'm adjusting to this new life of kind of nothingness. It's weird. I've been busy the last couple of days dealing with getting stuff settled for school, but after tomorrow, I'll be done with that. Then what?
I'm starting to feel a little guilty that DH is doing everything at home and I can't help. I know it's a bit irrational, but I can't help it. I'm powerless here.
Then when the contractions don't die down when he's here, I feel even worse because that's the one thing he's worried about (understandably).
Anyway. I'm stable, but still with 4-6 contractions an hour (on meds). I have to be calmer than I am (uterus-wise) to be able to switch to oral meds to have a chance of going home. So it's going to be a bit...

@Mrs Green Grass: GREAT! Glad to hear you are still doing well! I know its easier said than done but try to relax and not worry about the small stuff at home that you cant do.
How is everyone else doing???
How are nurserys coming? I dont want to admit I have not even started. We need to move DD room first and so we are doing that now.

@Rescuemom10: as far as furniture - we have everything in the nursery. crib, bookshelf, changing table, closet organizer, glider... but there are no curtains, nothing on the walls, we need new crib sheets, baskets under our changing table, stuff to fill the bookshelf, etc etc etc!
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Mrs Green Grass: I'm glad you are doing better. I read in your other post that you've been busy with visitors which is such a great distraction. You are doing a great job - keep it up mama! Every day he's still in there is a good day.
@Rescuemom10: Our nursery is a total disaster. We have a glider and that's it! The room is kind of cleared out but there is still a bunch of random crap lying around. DH is planning on painting this weekend. Hopefully that'll inspire us to get moving.
@coacheswife123: I'm envious of your progress! Way to go!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@oliviaoblivia: don't be envious! my parents bought the crib, i bought the changing table from a co worker, we already had the bookcase, my parents bought the closet organizer and my grandmother bought the glider! We painted the bookcase and changing table to match so everything didn't look cobbled together!
thank goodness for parents!

@coacheswife123: We finished painting last week. This weekend, after Farm Aid, my parents came down with us on Sunday to help us pick up our furniture. We now have our bookshelf-turned-bench, our dresser, and our crib. We still need to order our glider, but we're gonna let that sit on the registry for a bit to see if one our family members gets it. I'm doubtful, so if it doesn't get purchased by mid-November, we'll order it so that we can be assured we'll have it in time. I ordered the paper lanterns for the mobile I'm making. And over the next few weeks, I'll start ordering the prints and stuff we want for the walls. My mom is making the blanket, crib skirt, and cushion for the bench.

I got the job!! Woo!! I start tomorrow. One day before I'm 6 months pregnant. WTF?!?! But it's part time and they are okay with me taking time off (they reworked the original job I applied for so that I could) and I think that working part time after the baby will be good too, even though I'm sure leaving the little one for only 20 weeks will still be hard come March.
How are y'all feeling? I feel just pregnant. Super, super pregnant. I'm trying to eat healthy and exercise a lot, but my stomach hurts if I slouch, my back hurts if I sit up straight, rolling over is hard and getting in and out of our too high bed is hard too. I did some yoga last night and it was so much more work going from position to position! We haven't had sex in almost 2 weeks because of my heartburn/feeling bad about myself. I've already gained 20lbs!
I thought this didn't happen until the third trimester. I feel like I've lost another month out of my "golden trimester." Does anyone else feel like this? Does it come and go or just get worse till delivery?!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@jedeve: YAY about the job!
I've been feeling the pains of getting larger and not being able to move like I used to - blah! How many weeks are you? I'm 23 weeks today and just went for my doctor appointment. I've gained 16 lbs total. Its hard to see that number shoot up on the scale each month!
My doctor said she wasn't too worried about the weight, though. I've been eating pretty normally, the only thing that is different is that my workouts are much less intense (yoga, light walking) than they used to be (running, interval training, etc). I miss a good workout!

@coacheswife123: 24 weeks, 25 on Friday.
I've been working out a lot this week...maybe that's part of it? Hiked Sunday, weights Monday, and then yesterday I was going to take off but I went to the pool and walked for 15-20 minutes just because I felt big and sore. But I really want to go to water aerobics today since I think it's my last chance before my job starts.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@jedeve: it sounds like you are doing great! i was terrified of weights in the 1st tri but I just told my husband I think i'm goin to start lifting light hand weights again. I'm not liking how pudgy my arms are looking!
The good news is, if we are growing our babies are growing - and that is what we want!
pomegranate / 3643 posts
@coacheswife123: Oh yeah, I was just doing 5lb bicep curls and things like that!!
My husband smiles every time I complain because to him it's like "yay, proof my baby is growing!" Come on! Not cool! haha.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@jedeve: its still so hard! we spend so much energy keeping our weight DOWN and now all of a sudden its going up at a crazy rate !
yep - i'm going to start back on my 5lb weights this week! So easy to do in front of the TV at night!

@Rescuemom10: I am with you -We have to move DD into her new room and out of the nursery first so we can get started on a new look for #2. We also decided the other day that to help keep DD on her schedule we are going to give her our bedroom and we'll move to the one right next to the nursery so there is a lot of painting that needs to happen in the next few weeks. Just waiting on DD new bedding to arrive so we can get started.
grapefruit / 4923 posts
@jedeve: congratulations on the new job!
@Mrs Green Grass: glad you are at home and stable--hope things continue that way and the contractions lessen! i know it must be hard to not be able to do anything, but don't be hard on yourself and feeling guilty--you had no control over this situation, and everyone just wants you and the baby to be healthy.
@eiko2010: wow what great progress on the nursery! we moved into a new apartment two weeks ago, so the "nursery" is the room for all sorts of junk that we don't know where to put/don't want to unpack. guess i'll tackle that...at some point.
@coacheswife123: i've been doing tiny amounts of hand weights during a prenatal workout dvd and some push-ups, and man, my arms really notice how much heavier i've gotten! sounds like you have a better exercise routine, though, and everything is looking good!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@Mrs Green Grass: I didn't realize you were home - need to visit your other post. YAY for being home!
pomelo / 5628 posts
Nope - I'm still here (in the hospital). You'll know it if I go home!! I'm ok here though...being at home would kind of be more lonely in some way and they are treating me well.
honeydew / 7504 posts
@jedeve: Congrats on the job! That is fantastic news! You must feel so much better!
I agree - I just feel HUGE. Especially after I eat. It doesn't help that I've had 3 people in the past week ask me if I'm having my baby soon or if I'm ready to pop.
I am definitely not moving as quickly as I once was - I used to be able to walk the 8 blocks from the train station to the hospital in 12 minutes. Now it takes me closer to 20.
I am getting heartburn more and more. I woke up at 2:30am this morning with heartburn and had to go get Tums. Today I've had it pretty much all day. I wake up at some point during the night unable to get comfortable - it takes a lot of tossing and turning and repositioning my pregnancy pillow, which makes me feel terrible because I worry that I'm waking up Hubs. My belly feels squished if I sit normal, my back hurts if I sit up straight. I am seriously considering investing in some slip-on sneakers because tying my shoes is getting painful. I cannot possibly imagine how I'm going to get bigger!

@Mrs Green Grass: waaaah! BUT i'm loving your positive attitude - keep it up girl!

Hi ladies! I have been reading the blog and boards for a month or two and finally decided I should officially join! I am due January 13 with a little boy (24w3d). I am feeling large and in charge these days! Lots and lots of rib and upper back pain that will not go away. I don't remember what it feels like to be comfortable!

@coacheswife123: I wish I only gained 16lbs so far, I went to my monthly visit... and I've gained almost 20lbs I just keep thinking its all for the baby...
I can't wait until I start back up my routine hard core exercising...

@Mrs Green Grass: You are such a trooper! It's almost Thursday - I think I'm more aware of your week milestones than my own right now. I was so excited for a second reading the updates that you had gone home - hopefully that's true for you soon!
@Kffw: Welcome and congrats on your baby boy!

@heartsnsunshine: I think 1-13-13 would be such an awesome birthday! I know the odds of delivering on our due date aren't good, but it would be cool!
@coacheswife123 and @oliviabolivia: thank you!!
I also should add this is our first baby!
