I just got my flu shot and my Tdap last week.
DH got the Tdap already too. Something I wish they would start just giving people like they do a flu shot for as haorrible as whooping cough has been. Yikes!

I went yesterday for a check up and got my flu shot. I have to check on my Tdap. The doc said you only need it every 5 years. I also did my glucose test but don't have the results yet. It wasn't bad at all. I did have to go in for a growth scan today since the little man was measuring large. He is officially a week ahead according to the measurements and above average for weight, but according to the tech I shouldn't be concerned. I should hear from my doc tomorrow. I got cute face shot of him out of the ordeal at least!

So, is anyone else getting more and more uncomfortable? I am 26 weeks today and I just noticing more back ache and more general discomfort. Like I can't get comfortable in my desk chair at work at all. It's becoming more and more difficult to come to work and get through the day....sigh.

  9. Kffw

    grape / 89 posts

@mrsjumpingjacks: I feel the same way about the discomfort! It is crazy how uncomfortable just sitting at work is! Some days I don't think I'll make it through the day.
The tech had a really hard time getting face pics because he was tucked into my hip and had both hands and a foot by his face! We could not get him to move so it must have been a really cozy spot!

@Kffw: That's a really cool picture! Took me a minute to get what I was looking at, but...awesome!

@Jumpingjacks: YES. I am getting really uncomfortable. My back hurts pretty much all day, every day. And my belly gets really heavy. I am starting to consider getting a support belt.

Just drank the glucose drink for my 1-hour screen. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. But it's giving me heartburn )c: I go back down to the lab for the follow-up blood work in 30 minutes and then I can finally eat!

@Kffw: he is a cutie! great shot!!

@Jumpingjacks: agree about the discomfort. it isn't constant but progresses as the day goes on and my back usually hurts after I wake up. I think from sleeping on my side and my bump pulling down against my back?? I've been trying to use a flat pillow under my bump to keep it more level with my spine . it kind of helps!

I did my flu and TDaP in the hospital. Make sure to tell grandparents to get them too!

@Mrs Green Grass: i just followed up with my and DH immediate family to make sure they are all up-to-date. How are you doing?? How's Dylan?

  14. littlebug

    honeydew / 7504 posts

@Mrs Green Grass: How's Baby GG doing? And how are Mom and Dad doing?

We sent an email out to all of the grandparents about flu shots and pertussis vaccines, and so far, responses have been positive. Still haven't heard back from my dad, but he's the one I imagined the least resistance from, so I'm sure it'll be fine. YAY! That's a big load off my mind!

So I think I might be having Braxton Hicks, but I'm not sure. It only happens in the morning, when I first wake up. It feels like menstrual cramps - like how I used to feel when I woke up the mornings I got AF. It usually goes away after 30-60 minutes. I always thought BH would feel like contractions, like they'd come and go, but these are just sort of a constant cramp for about an hour and then it fades away, so I'm not totally convinced that's what it is? Anyone else?

  15. Kffw

    grape / 89 posts

@eiko2010: I have been having some menstrual type cramps too. Mine are very mild and last about the same amount of time I don't believe these are BH because I get those too. They feel like the middle of your belly getting really tight and hard. They last a few seconds to a minute and then relax. My doc said as long as the menstrual cramps don't have a come and go pattern then it is normal. And the BH are normal too (up to 6 an hour I think).

@Kffw: Thanks for your description of Braxton Hicks. I've been feeling like that occasionally for some time now. I thought it had something to do with my uterus expanding because I always seem bigger the next day after it happens!

    @Thencomeslife: welcome!

We went for a 3d ultrasound this weekend. Best thing ever! Baby girl was so cute and cuddly in there. Now I'm even more excited to meet her.
I've had a few BH contractions.. they are no fun.
The dog was resting on my belly today and baby girl kicked really hard and the dog jumped back and looked at my belly..so funny.

    How are you ladies doing?

@eiko2010: I just updated my "i had a baby thread" and there are updates on my blog (too many places to update!). But we've got some issues that need to be resolved, but no emergencies.

I'm going to have all kinds of advice about what you ladies need right after delivery!

Husband and I went for a 5 day trip/"babymoon" last week. I weighed myself when I got home, and I gained 5 POUNDS over those 5 days. That's ridiculous. That's as much as I've been gaining in a month!

  24. littlebug

    honeydew / 7504 posts

I called the OB's office this morning about the cramps I've been having. She said it's pretty normal, but then also reviewed my glucose and urine screen from last week. She said my urine looked a little cloudy, which could mean I'm getting a UTI, which would explain the cramps. So at my appointment tomorrow night, they're going to do a full urine culture. So we'll see what's happening there. BUT, I passed my glucose screen, so I'm happy about that!

Third trimester!! Woohoo! But pregnancy is getting *hard.* Does anyone else feel like that? I feel like I've tried so hard to eat right, to exercise, to sleep, to do everything *right* and it still just feels hard.

It's hard to roll over, sit up, put on shoes, my hips are starting to ache, heartburn from hells, restless legs, the extra weight (26 lbs already!) is starting to make my legs feel like they are getting a workout.

Am I the only one? I really thought if I ate healthy and exercised, I would feel fine all through my pregnancy. Guess not!

@jedeve: It's getting hard. It's getting very uncomfortable to sleep. I'm having major reflux issue and sciatica issues. Just no fun. My Glucose came back with great numbers so that was good and I got my flu shot. I'll get a new DTAP after delivery. I had one either 4 years ago before my nephew was born or I got a booster before my honeymoon three years ago. I need to call my internist and check.

I'm not feeling a ton of movement even though she very active during Sono's. Stupid Anterior Placenta.

@allison: How many weeks are you? I feel like from 26-27 weeks, I blew up! Maybe it's a big growth spurt? ETA: Where did you go?

@jedeve: Yeah, no, definitely getting harder!

  30. heartsnsunshine

    cherry / 165 posts

@jedeve: Yay! for hitting the 3rd trimester! We are at the beginning of the end!

It has been so hard for me to get comfy in bed, rolling over is so hard lol and if I drop something it stays on the floor unless DH is near to bend over and get it.

I feel like I've been getting a huge belly now, there's no slowing this baby down! My glucose test is next week, not too worried about it just want to get it done and over with.

Love seeing those ultra sound pictures! I want to get another 3d one during the third trimester, but not sure we want to spend the $ on one, our first one we got a pretty good face shot....

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Mrs Green Grass: @Thencomeslife: @eiko2010: @coacheswife123: Thanks! I was on the fence about getting an additional ($$$) ultrasound, but I'm really glad we did. I've been staring at her picture for hours.

@jedeve: I'm ready to not be pregnant any more. It is getting uncomfortable. I got to work the other day and the elevator was out so I had to climb 6 flights of stairs (which normally would be a breeze) and I considered calling in sick. Pathetic.

  32. allison

    pear / 1895 posts

@eiko2010: 26 weeks today! Maybe a growth spurt does have something to do with it. We went to New Orleans -- I ate SO much food. We live in a tiny town that's essentially a food wasteland, so I knew before I even got to New Orleans that I'd be eating a ton. That's basically why we went. So I guess I shouldn't be that surprised by 5 pounds.

    @Thencomeslife: welcome to the group!

@oliviaoblivia: i'm usually not a fan of the 3Ds, but dang, that is a great shot! is that a full head of hair i see! so crazy!

@Mrs Green Grass: we're all pulling for you and dylan! hope you're getting rest and dylan continues to get better!

@jedeve: i feel you for sure. i'm still working out and hope to until delivery, but dang, if my back doesn't hurt every day! i did concoct a whole system of pillows last night for sleeping and it seemed to help. i woke up feeling more refreshed, even though i woke up several times. i made a little cocoon for myself and although i miss DH, it makes it much easier for me to turn all around and get comfortable when i have the bed to myself. remind me next time i get pregnant to get a king bed.

@oliviaoblivia: Love the pic!!! How awesome. So beautiful.
I have been waiting for our dogs to get kicked too when they lay on my belly. So far she has not kicked hard enough for them to feel. Cant wait until she does, can only imagine the look on my furbabies faces. LOL

Well I have been doing everything I can to stay posative about all the bad timing of bad news recently. Still no for sure word on my job. My company has a pretty good idea who got the new Contract with the Navy. If its true I am excited, especuially if they hire me on. Great company, and a BIG one at that.
So fingers are crossed still for that.
DH decided at my appt today that we should ask how late the doc is OK with me traveling, he decided I should go home and see my family. I havent been home in two yrs, besides a quick weekend for a reuinion that was barely enough time. So I am going home next month for 5 days. So looking fwd to that. My appt went well. I gianed 6lbs in the last month. my eyes just about popped outa my head when I saw that. At my 5 mo check up I had gained 7lbs TOTAL!!!!
But other than that all is well. Just going to keep on keepin on!

@jedeve: I agree, it's getting hard. I can't do anything in the evenings anymore because I'm just sore and achy and tired. I can't wait until I don't have to go to work every day. I'm off as of Dec 14 -- two more months!

@Andrea: I come from a long line of hairy babies so I was expecting some hair, but at 28 weeks I didn't expect her to be wearing a wig!

I'm currently in the middle of my 1-hour glucose test. Didn't plan on having it today so its a pop quiz. Fingers crossed that I pass.

Just got word that I passed the glucose test! Yay! But I am anemic and need to take iron supplements but that isn't a big deal!
I blew up around 25-26 weeks too! Gained a lot of weight in the last couple weeks! Up 20 lbs total at 27 weeks 3 days!

@allison: yay for a babymoon! where did you guys go? sounds like a lot of us are going through a growth/weight spurt--crazy!

@Andrea: bummer on the 3 hour test, you must be so hungry. crossing fingers for a good result!
