@shoemama: Dec. 31st! You're going to be a December mama?!
I love all these photos ladies!
How long are you girls going to work for? My boss gave me the option of taking December and working from home, but I'm NEVER productive at home. I'm taking two weeks off before my EDD but that includes Christmas and New Years so I should have some stuff to do. I'm worried about sitting at home getting impatient for her arrival.

Great updates everyone! We've come such a long way!
EDD: January 25
How far along?: 29 weeks 4 days
Baby name: Leo Harrison
Recent Milestone: 1st baby shower was Saturday. People have been so generous! The 2nd one is the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Weight gain: 15 lbs. as of last Thursday.
Nursery status: It's painted and the furniture is put together (besides a glider - gotta figure that out) but it's got all the baby shower stuff thrown in it!
Most annoying symptom?: Peeing constantly, having to eat small meals.
What are you looking forward to most?: The baby shower really made it sink in that we are going to have an ACTUAL BABY soon.
Next Appointment?: Nov 27
Team?: Blue!
How are you feeling?: fantastic. No complaints here.
Is the third trimester what you expected?: So far, it's been easier than I thought it would be.
What are you researching?: Gotta dive in to the Hypnobirthing book ASAP!
What do you have left to buy?: monitor, glider, nursery decor...but waiting until after 2nd shower to do all that.
Is your hospital bag packed?: Nope.
Have you had your baby shower?: 1 of 2
What are you most worried about?: Nothing in general, late pregnancy loss terrifies me when I let myself think about it.
Upload a cute photo to make the other Jan Mamas smile: This is what our child will allegedly look like. Ha.

EDD: Jan 21st
How far along?: 30 weeks 1 day
Baby name: Eli or Nora
Recent Milestone: baby now regularly kicks my ribs. So fun.
Weight gain: +15
Nursery status: don't have one - baby will be in our room. We do have a crib set up, though.
Most annoying symptom?: peeing all the time.
What are you looking forward to most?: baby being on the outside/me getting my body back
Next Appointment?: 11/20 (hopefully having an U/S)
Team?: green
How are you feeling?: emotional, which is unusual for me -- I've been pretty neutral through the first 2 trimesters.
Is the third trimester what you expected?: being uncomfortable - yes; being emotional - no
What are you researching?: breastfeeding
What do you have left to buy?: um, everything? We have a crib and a car seat. And a few diapers. That's pretty much it.
Is your hospital bag packed?: nope
Have you had your baby shower?: sort of? My friend sent out "virtual" shower invites awhile ago, but I haven't actually gotten anything yet. She put a deadline of Jan 1 on it, which makes me very nervous. We'll probably buy the essentials we don't have in mid-December.
What are you most worried about?: coping with the lack of sleep when baby is here
Upload a cute photo to make the other Jan Mamas smile: this is really the only picture I have that I thought would work. Sorry for the copycat, @littlebug

@allison: The Britax Boulevard convertible (we're not getting an infant car seat). I guess they are changing out the shoulder straps..?
pineapple / 12053 posts
@jedeve: that photo amazing!
@littlebug: ha, the shower was actually right outside my own house, so i wasn't really walking anywhere! i figured it was the last time i would even be able to pretend to wear them. i definitely took them off as soon as everyone left.

@oliviaoblivia: i'm planning on just working up to my due date if i can! I'm the worst at sitting at home!

Hello all. I haven't been checking the board for awhile. Here's my update:
EDD: Jan 17
How far along?: 30 weeks, 6 days
Baby name: we've narrowed it down, but still discussing
Recent Milestone: set up the cradle & glider in our bedroom this past weekend.
Weight gain: 25 lbs
Nursery status: It's ready to be cleared out, with a furniture happening next weekend.
Most annoying symptom?: lower back pain and waking in the night.
What are you looking forward to most?: stopping work and then seeing the babe.
Next Appointment?: Nov 21
Team?: pink
How are you feeling?: Tired, big, unfocussed at work, looking forward to what comes next.
Is the third trimester what you expected?: I didn't know how worn out I would be. I am lacking a lot of pre-preg stamina and just can't accomplish in a day what I could before. I can't believe how fast the time has gone.
What are you researching?: breast feeding, labor positions
What do you have left to buy?: crib (although we have a large-ish cradle so we'll be ok for a few months), a few smaller things.
Is your hospital bag packed?: No
Have you had your baby shower?: Not having one.
What are you most worried about?: that baby will be breech. Also I'm a bit stressed about just getting everything done and organized in plenty of time. In the next few weeks, I think we'll be ready and I will relax about it all.
Upload a cute photo to make the other Jan Mamas smile: Oh - sorry, I don't have any photos on this computer!

@oliviaoblivia: My original plan was to try to work up till baby's arrival, but I am seriously starting to rethink that. I'm due on the 10th, so I'm starting to think I may take the 4th as my last day of work.

@oliviaoblivia: yep I moved to December! I am off of work starting December 3rd and I cannot wait!!! I have mostly been working mornings in the office and afternoons at home, but I am excited to be done!!!

Anyone having braxton hicks yet?
I can't decide if I am or not. I have times when the top of my bump feels so hard- like there is literally a rock in there. when I touch it it doesn't go away (baby usually moves away from my touch so I don't think its him). It doesn't hurt its just tight/uncomfortable and then passes???
honeydew / 7504 posts
@coacheswife123: Yup, that's braxton hicks! That's what I've been having since I was in the PETU a few weeks ago.

@coacheswife123: yes I am! I had one or two painful contractions, but I drank some water and they went away.
pineapple / 12793 posts
@coacheswife123: I've had a few. Uncomfortable!
We opened up my breastpump last night. DH was bizarrely into it. He had so many questions.
We have our first prenatal class next weekend and I'm nervous about it. This is really happening - I'm going to have a baby! It's not like the bump wasn't proof enough, but for whatever reason it feels more and more real every day.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@oliviaoblivia: definitely feeling more and more real. I made a list today for our hospital bag - crazy. I hope your classes go well - ours were good! The best part was getting to tour the hospital!
pineapple / 12793 posts
@coacheswife123: I think I'm looking forward to the tour most!
pineapple / 12053 posts
i went and bought a bunch of clothes off old navy and gap and it's feeling more real! that was my first clothing spree (and certainly not the last).
in other news, i blew my nose and peed my pants a little. guess this is the real deal.
pineapple / 12793 posts
@birdofafeather: haha! too funny! I haven't had any wet pants accidents yet, but I know my days are numbered...I hope it wasn't too obvious
pineapple / 12053 posts
@oliviaoblivia: luckily i was at home by myself. but i was still pretty embarrassed.

@birdofafeather: @oliviaoblivia: i coughed not long ago at work and it happened. whyyyyy???

Is anyone else getting Restless Leg Syndrome? At night when we sit down to watch tv and relax, my legs just constantly itch. It is infuriating!
pomegranate / 3643 posts
@littlebug: I've had it for a while. It sucks. Laying on my side and applying heat helps.
honeydew / 7504 posts
@jedeve: I did finally give up last night and just went to bed, where I lay on my side, and that helped a bit. I'll have to try the heat trick. Thanks!

have had a lot of heartburn this week. We tried again for our 4D ultrasound this morning and he was still positioned horribly. Didn't get anything! Going to try again next week but at this point, I'm just kind of over it!
clementine / 750 posts
@coacheswife123: I feel for you on the heartburn. I've got it bad as well, but more on the reflux side of things. I barely want to eat as there is almost nothing that doesn't cause issues.
grapefruit / 4923 posts
love reading everyone's updates! definitely hear you on things starting to feel more real--it hit me this morning when my doctor told me i would be doing biweekly appointments now.
EDD: 1/20/13
How far along?: 31 weeks
Baby name: no name yet, not even a short list!
Recent Milestone: baby has gone from kicks/jabs to rolling/stretching/doing the macarena or something
Weight gain: i'm not sure--i don't look at the scale and have asked my doctor not to tell me (though he's slipped up a couple of times by telling me how much i've gained since the last appointment)
Nursery status: just boxes! it's our version of "decor".
Most annoying symptom?: some pelvic pain after yoga/exercise (what little i do); not being able to fall asleep after the upteenth midnight bathroom trip
What are you looking forward to most? seeing the hubs hold the little one
Next Appointment?: two weeks
Team?: blue
How are you feeling?: tired from not getting enough sleep
Is the third trimester what you expected?: i think so, i guess i ddin't have a lot of expectations
What are you researching?: baby carriers, specificallly ring slings
What do you have left to buy?: a shitload of stuff
Is your hospital bag packed?: no. i don't even have a designated bag. what am i doing.
Have you had your baby shower?: one of them, another will happen in december.
What are you most worried about?: labor pain. being responsible for keeping another human being alive, and then dealing with him growing into a derelict teenager.
here's a pic from our st. john babymoon!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@edelweiss: your post cracked me up! "i don't even have a designated bag. what am i doing." and "being responsible for keeping another human being alive, and then dealing with him growing into a derelict teenager." HAHA!
You are not alone. I've definitely had some "what am I getting myself into" moments lately!
pomegranate / 3643 posts
@kayakgirl73: @coacheswife123: agree on the heartburn. I had to start taking prilosec, even though its category c. It's just so, so bad. If I forget a night, I throw up in my mouth all night and have to sleep in the recliner. Which I have to do sometimes even though I've taken it! I was just getting so nauseous without it that I couldn't eat, which would make it worse. I just had a bagel for lunch, so I know I'm going to be in for it soon.
Almonds have helped, as has cutting out most dairy, like milk and yogurt. Almond milk for me now!
pineapple / 12053 posts
@edelweiss: ha. your updates cracked me up! i feel like i've been ignoring all these feelings and then after the new year, i'm going to have all this free time to think about what the heck i got myself into!
we did our hospital orientation this weekend and my mom came down to help organize baby stuff. feeling good about things and it's crazy to realize that they do recommend packing your bag/putting your base/car seat in at 37 weeks. as the lady said, 38 weeks isn't early, it's on time! yikes!
honeydew / 7504 posts
@coacheswife123: @edelweiss: Hubs was telling me this weekend about some of the stuff he and his friends got into in high school. I was like, "Holy shit, if he's anything like you, I won't survive his teenage years." Hubs was apparently a hooligan!
grapefruit / 4923 posts
@coacheswife123: i know, i try not to think *too* much about what we're getting ourselves into. i hope things work out foro the 4d ultrasound next week! maybe your baby is all "stop the paparazzi!"
@birdofafeather: oh that's good to know about when is a good time to get things packed and get the car seat installed (i have delegated car seat fun to the husband). how was the hospital orientation? our hospital offers one online so i'm debating doing just that, although i do think it's worth driving to the hospital once so we know where to go!
@littlebug: haha--but at least you know that no matter what shenanigans your kid pulls, he'll still end up a great guy just like his dad! also, you were right about st. john, we loved it!
pineapple / 12053 posts
@edelweiss: i liked it just for the walk through, so DH and i knew exactly where to go, what to do when we arrived, what the rooms looked like, expectations, etc. it wasn't anything mind blowing, but definitely great to go to so there will hopefully less confusion, questions when it is time to go in!
honeydew / 7504 posts
@birdofafeather: We had our childbirth class this weekend, too. I think it helped us both feel much more confident (although Hubs will need another dry run of getting to/into the hospital before D-Day). We learned some great relaxation and pain relief techniques. And they answered a lot of questions I had about the way our hospital does things.
@edelweiss: Very true! I'm so glad you enjoyed St. John - it is a perfect relaxing vacation!

I feel like I've been complaining a lot this past week or so. Just a combo of not resting well and not being able to get comfortable, not being able to take a good deep breath, etc. I know my DH is probably tired of hearing it! And, I feel so ungrateful because I've had such an easy pregnancy!! 9 more weeks until my due date! I hope they fly...
pineapple / 12793 posts
@coacheswife123: I hear you about the complaining. I think I've definitely entered the uncomfortable phase of pregnancy. We're approaching the finish line though. 46 days til EDD for me and I cannot wait.
cherry / 175 posts
@coacheswife123: I also feel bad about complaining, but I feel so huge and also cannot breathe or sleep...less than 6 weeks to go for me.
I just finished packing my hospital bag! Now I just need to remember to charge my cameras and bring all the chargers we need!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@oliviaoblivia: @shoemama: glad to hear I'm not alone. I figure most of us on this board are about to all be in the same boat!
@shoemama: Congrats on packing the hospital bag! I have made a list and sort of started on mine but nowhere near finished. Waiting on some orders from Motherhod Maternity to come in (bras and pjs and a gown) to arrive - their shipping is so slow! Doesn't it feel so good to start marking things off the to do list??
