@jedeve: @coacheswife123: Making babies is EXHAUSTING! I am still surprised by how tired I am at the end of the day. I fall asleep on the train ride home pretty much every night now. Like, full, head-back-mouth-wide-open-wake-up-worried-I'm-snoring asleep! I have to set an alarm on my phone to make sure I don't miss my stop!

My External Cephalic Version was a success!!! Baby girl is finally head down. I'm am actually somewhat shocked, but also happy and relieved. Now I need to start concentrating on giving birth vaginally again!

I had my 37 week appt yesterday (37+5) and haven't made any progress from 10 days ago (still 1cm and 50%). I was so bummed! Physically, I'm so ready to evict....mentally, not near ready yet! My hips and back have started to hurt so so bad that there is no comfortable position! Pregnancy is getting torturous at this point.

@kayakgirl73: @Kffw: I was kind of freaked out yesterday to be 39 weeks with no dilation and found this webpage....

@littlebug: yay for turning babies!
@pinkb: looks like you might be next!
DH and i had a great babymoon and it was so nice to get away after the holidays and spend time together. we got the crib sorted out, so i'm going to make a crib skirt and get some under crib storage bins this weekend while DH has some hospital rotations.
now that the holidays are over, i feel like i'm going to get into gear. i've definitely slowed down, but have a lot to do, so not ready for her to be here yet. i'm undecided if i want the cervical check or not at my appt on monday (37w+6d). i don't feel like anything has happened recently, so i don't know what i want to know the "progress."
in other TMI news, my breasts started leaking last night. guess it's time to put the breast pads in! anyone else have that fun symptom yet?

@birdofafeather: so glad you enjoyed the baby moon !! And blah - haven't had to deal with the leaking yet !!! I get checked again on wednesday and I will be very surprised if there has been any progress! Trying not to get my hopes up haha ! Keep us updated lady !

@birdofafeather: I had a damp spot on my nipple the other day when i was braless, but I wasn't sure if I was leaking or if I was just spilling on myself again.
I haven't had a cervical check yet (or my GBS test - I was 35w6d at my appt and they won't test till 36 weeks.) I'm just trying to expect LO to be here late...we'll see!

One day till January! Anyone think they might have a first of the year baby? The first baby in our town wasn't born until the 2nd last year!

OMFG. So i was just talking to DH about possibly going on his insurance in 2014 b/c his employer is in NJ and I *think* they cover infertility treatments, plus my employer will give me $150/mo for getting off their insurance. Since we had to do IUI to get pregnant in the first place, we may need assistance for #2.
His reply? What are you talking about, we need to start trying for #2 by **June, if not earlier.** (This from a man who has never taken care of an infant before.)
My eyes popped out of my head. I told him we need to discuss it after Leo arrives.

I'm fine with not being next! I'm convinced he won't come till February.

@Andrea: Yay congrats. So happy to hear it went so well.
Well I guess I am about to go see my doc. His nurse called this morning and he wants to see me. I have had a hard time drinking and eating recently. Its not all the time but just about anything can have my tummy up in knots to where it takes my breath away from the sharp pain. So he wants to see me today. I better head that way now actually. I havent had a cervical check yet....wondering if he is going to do that...

@Rescuemom10: Oh goodness! Keep us posted on what the OB says! Good luck!
@dagret: Ugh. MEN.

@dagret: hahahaha. My DH told me he pictured us having another baby in a year. *HAVING* it. Not just conceiving it. Tell yours he can start *trying* to have sex with you in June - ha!
@Rescuemom10: Feel better! It's not contractions, is it? (Which obviously you would know - I'm not trying to suggest!)

@dagret: My hubs keeps talking about a second as well. He's crazy. We need to get this one here first and me healed. I also wonder how we'd pay daycare for two, not mention we used IF treatment to get pregnant and I'm 39.

Well I just got back. Doc ran a bunch of labs. Waiting to hear back on those. Wants me back next week to follow up and will do first cervical check then and what not.
He at first thought it sounded like gallstones, but I have had my gallbladder taken out. So we will see.
Its def not contractions. Its a very sharp stomach pain that comes on right after eating and sometimes drinking.

@Rescuemom10: That sucks. I thought I had gall bladder problems for a bit because I was getting *extreme* gas pains. I hope it's not that!

@Andrea: yay!! congrats! can't wait to hear the rest and how it went as i have a doula and want a med free birth as well!
pomegranate / 3643 posts
@birdofafeather: Ooh that's a good topic.
What's your birth "plan"? Plan isn't a good word - maybe "arrangements"?
I have an MW who practices with OBs and I plan on giving birth in the hospital (unless there is some freak snowstorm and I can't, haha!). We hired a doula, but this will be her first birth because she is getting certified. On the bright side, she is FREE! I don't want to really commit to drugs/no drugs, but because I have vulvodynia (a vulva that is super sensitive) I kinda think I might get an epi, but I'd reallllly like to wait until the last minute to do so. I don't like going in thinking "i'm definitely getting the drugs" though.

@birdofafeather: @Jumpingjacks: thanks!
And I will definitely write up my med free birth story. I'll try to do it soon or else it will not be that useful if you have all already given birth!
OMG re: birth plans. One of the first things the labor nurse said was quote "HAHA. Do you have a birth plan? Because some people come in with a plan. HAHAHAHAHA!"
Okaaaaaaaay. My doula made me type up a birth plan to bring along and to give to my OB ahead of time. I never felt comfortable giving it to my OB because I didn't feel like he would care. And I definitely wasn't going to hand it over to the nurse after that comment! So my reply was just "I do not want an epidural and I want to be free to move around".
My birth plan was super short anyway, but it's unfortunate that they make you feel bad about having one. Super unfortunate.
