@allison: Thanks! It's an R2D2 toy chest - it was Hubs' when he was little. And that Ben Gibbard poster is a limited-edition print from a show we saw last month - my friend works at the theater where the show was and she hooked us up.

Okay, I'm bored, so I went ahead and took some photos.

Disclaimer: We manage a motel and live in the apartment there. The wood paneling, blue trim, and nasty brown carpet is NOT our choice! We just work around it. Ha...

So the first pic is the nursery side. Imagine a couple floating shelves on the wall next to the fox. The second pic is the other side of the room, just to give you an idea of the whole space.

I was bummed, at first, about having to fit everything in our bedroom, but now I kind of love it!

    @allison: Pretty!!

Baby is going to be with us for the first few months and I was pretty adamant about not wanting our master to turn into a nursery. Which means it's a pretty unexciting area for baby. The quilt is on our bed. Just a pack n play and a glider. The changing table is in the hallway.

@pinkb: she's beautiful! hope her jaundice clears up soon. @littlebug: I saw the pics on your blog - what a cool room.
@allison: love it - it looks so homey.

@dagret: Thanks. This is our bedroom, living room, and usually dining room (and now nursery), so it's definitely homey! /lived in

@littlebug: so cute and fun--you guys did an awesome job!

@allison: never would have known it was a motel apartment--no disclaimer necessary because it looks fabulous! love all the color.

@jedeve: i love that you just have the necessities, and everything is close by. looks like you're all set!

@oliviaoblivia: that's not chickening out, that's making an informed choice that you knew would be best for you! i've thought about declining the cervical check, but it's so weird, i don't want my doctor to get mad at me or think i'm weird (clearly i have a healthy fear of authority).

Ugh, Back from the doctor. Nothing has changed since last week, and last week was the same as the week before. Still 60-70% effaced, no dilation and cervix is still high and back. I go back Monday for another check. If things are favorable we'll talk induction, if not I'm looking at certain induction the week of the 14th.

At least my blood pressure and fluid levels are good.

@kayakgirl73: So frustrating! Glad your other stats are still good.

I'm loving the nurseries ladies! Seriously beautiful. If I ever get around to clearing the crap off of the day bed in the baby's room I'll upload some shots. It's crazy how close I am and how much I have left to do. Whoops.

I am having one of those days where I just want to "snap". Ohhh I feel sooooo misserable today. I just want to throw a fit. My ribs feel like they are on fire. It feels like LO uses my ribs as a xylaphones and they hurt so bad I cant sleep at night and they feel like I have a hot poker jabbed in them all day. I have really annoying cramps "down there" that feel kind of like being "stretched". My inner thighs feel like they are tearing everytime I use those muscles. I cant imagine working the rest of this month. If I go into Feb and she hasnt come yet I may loose my mind. Originally I planned working through next week and that was it. But now that I tech changed companies and lost my Mat leave I am working up until I deliver. I am just so misserable I cant imagine working that long now.
My first two trimesters were pretty easy. I feel the "wrath" of that now it seems

Sorry I just needed to vent.

@pinkb: ahhh she is a doll! sooo cute.

@allison: loving the colors -this looks great! so cozy and cute!

@jedeve: I think we have that same glider- I love it!

@oliviaoblivia: good for you for going with your gut and doing what you want! I'm so curious I dont know if I would be able to skip a check - but probably should since the past two I've been bummed out !

@kayakgirl73: come on baby! make some progress!

@Rescuemom10: oh I am so sorry the end is in sight but I know that doesn't make it any easier. I wish we all knew exactly when and how labor was going to happen! Hoping you get some relief soon!

I had my prenatal massage and pedicure today. It was wonnnnderrrrfullll.

@Rescuemom10: Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your day! I definitely am feeling super cranky this morning, and am SO GLAD I only have 3.5 more days of work left. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to last much longer!

@oliviaoblivia: Saw your other post - congrats and good luck! Can't wait for the update! Maybe refusing your check was good luck!

A little peek at what my mom and I have been doing in the nursery/office:

  17. ladyfingers

    pomelo / 5331 posts

@Rescuemom10: I can so relate. 4 more weeks left of work, no PTO or sick time left, but all I wanted to do was call in sick today. Everything was setting me off this morning, I slept in way too late and couldn't wash my hair, I was running late and almost ran out of gas on the way into work because apparently nobody remembers how to drive when it's sprinkling rain outside, and every time the baby moves his head I have a sharp pain that makes me want to throw up. I don't know if he's dropped or just moved or what, but this is so uncomfortably. Plus I lost my mucus plug last night, which I know doesn't mean anything at all (no blood), but it makes me even more impatient for this stage to be over already. Ugh! TGIF, indeed

  18. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@birdofafeather: great fabrics! Can't wait to see the whole thing!

So, I'm in labor. My water broke when I got up this morning. I was convinced I had just wet myself for the first hour. Then I lost my mucus plug and have started having timetable contractions. Looks like our little girl will be here today or tomorrow. I'm 40 weeks tomorrow, timely little one.

DH is home with me and is nesting like mad. Everything that he's been procrastinating on is done. It's wonderful, he's never this helpful around the house!

Thanks everyone. I just hurt so much all the time now its getting harder to smile through it. I know you ALL understand seeing as we are all in the same boat. : )

@ladyfingers: Ummm you just summed up my day. I wanted to call in sick so bad this morning. DH has been having to help me in and out of bed. My hips have been killing me but seriously my ribs are on fire and it hurst like a you know what.
The work days do NOT go by fast enough!
I saw about your mucus plus last night. Oh I think that would make me even MORE antsy and less patient.
DH is taking off work a couple weeks before I am due, and now I dont get to. How does that work? Ugh! lol

@oliviaoblivia: Eeek! SO EXCITED! Please PLEASE keep us updated!

@birdofafeather: I love it! LOVE the sheet and the textures. Looks great!

I love those baskets. I have been on the "hunt" for baskets for the nursery. I cant decide. Been to two places, and returned what I bought at both. Ahhh! LOL

  21. ladyfingers

    pomelo / 5331 posts

    @oliviaoblivia: So excited for you!!

@Rescuemom10: Yeah the only thing that got me into work was thinking, if I'm calling in sick with no sick time and 4 weeks to go, what am I going to be doing as I get closer? I need to save my insane whims for a little later on. Ugh. We can do this!

  22. birdofafeather

    pineapple / 12053 posts

@Rescuemom10: I went to home goods on a whim (was about to drive to west elm and spend a boatload of money) and literally found every basket I needed for $110. I got 3 baskets for under the crib, 2 for the changing area and 5 for the changing table we're just using for storage. I was full of win that day!!

@birdofafeather: Hee hee! "Full of win" made me laugh! Love the fabrics, can't wait to see more! Home Goods is awesome - I'd never set foot in there until we started decorating the nursery. Dangerous!

  25. Rescuemom10

    pear / 1965 posts

@ladyfingers: Thats pretty much my thinking too. That along with needing to save sick time for when DD is sick or something. DH is going to be gone soon so if she get ssick or anything and cant go to daycare I have to take off the time.
I know the end is in sight but why must it seem soooooo far away!

@Rescuemom10: Thankfully my sick time/PTO reups at the end of March, and I don't need to use any of it for leave!

Got checked today. 50% effaced,1 "fingertip" dilated, +2 station, and the baby's posterior. (bad baby!) I'm a week out from my due date so it's kinda encouraging I guess? At least something is happening!

@birdofafeather: LOVE that crib sheet. I have a feeling I'm going to really like/be jealous of the finished nursery!

@oliviaoblivia: Ah, labor! Hope everything is going/went well!

@jedeve: What's up with that "fingertip" business? I mean, come on -- give me a "1 cm", please? Glad to hear you're progressing some.

@pinkb: I don't think I ever told you congrats! I'm so sorry. Baby girl is precious! Love those headbands and that bow.

@pinkb: love her!! We are also dealing with jaundice. Pain...hope our LOs both get rid of it soon!!

@oliviaoblivia: omg, so excited that you are next!

Love the nursery pics!! Sorry, on my phone and it's a pain to reply individually. And my carpal tunnel is killing me so I really should stop typing and go to bed because I have to wake the baby up in 2 hrs to eat and then I have to pump, too!!

    @allison: Love the nursery!

I only have half a nursery right now but it's coming together quickly...

Here's the closet. Since the pic we've added a shelf and bar for clothes. The walls are grey, furniture white, and the aqua is in the closet and bordering the ceiling.

Another day with little progress...and my blood pressure has gone wonky. We are starting an induction. Not thrilled about that, but at least I'll meet our little lady soon.

Hope you ladies are doing well. Any more babies?

@oliviaoblivia: SO exciting, baby is almost here!!!

Last week (38w3d) appt. I had a cervical check (my 3rd one UGH..) with known "not so gentle dr.... He said I was only 1/2 cm and still pretty thick.... and after he was done he mentioned that bleeding/spotting is normal after these exams, sex, etc. When I got done I had a lot of blood after and spotted for 3 days after the exam.... Has anyone else experienced this? I didn't bleed before this exam.

I go back on Wed. for my 39w + appt. with a different Dr., but I don't want to bleed again like I did, it was like I was starting my period....

  39. allison

    pear / 1895 posts

@heartsnsunshine: I don't really know for sure, but that much blood doesn't sound normal to me? My dr. told me I shouldn't have more than a little spotting. Was the blood bright red?

  40. pinkb

    pear / 1599 posts

@heartsnsunshine: I agree with Allison. I had 5 or 6 cervical checks and only had some spotting (red and pink), which is what my dr said to expect. Maybe your cervix is just extra sensitive...??
