@Smurfette: Nice!!
Drank the orange drink today... I was thirsty so I chugged it haha. My last OB only did finger pricks so I found out on the spot that I had GD... This OB took blood before and after, so I guess I'll find out next week? For now, I'm chowing down on a sausage, egg & cheese on a roll
How did I enter 3rd trimester already?!

@snowjewelz: Did you get your GD results yet?
How is everyone doing? We are a pretty quiet bunch!!
I had an MFM appointment with a scan this morning. The baby is growing well - estimated to be 1 lb 14 oz at 26 weeks. Baby is currently frank breech; head up under my ribs, butt over my cervix, and spine sticking out my right side (I had a feeling that's where the spine was as I often get a curved lump sticking out right there.) They said they don't start to get concerned about baby being breech until 32+ weeks but I still hope that by my next scan at 30 weeks baby goes head down.
Other than that just the routine pregnancy complaints - starting to ache in my hips and pelvis, tired, etc. And I feel like I'm getting a cold. I just had one 4 weeks ago so I hope I'm wrong!
Hope everyone is doing well!

@IRunForFun: Glad that baby is looking good! On Friday, LO was butt over my cervix and head up by the ribs (left side). My OB won't check till 36 weeks (at least if I remember correctly from last time) that she is heads down. I am not worried about it, she still has so much room to move around. Although I have a friend that LO's moved to breech at 35/36 weeks so really you never know.
I am stuffy and a have a sore throat this morning. Super. I really don't need to get sick before this weekend, so much to do.
28 weeks today. I can't believe it is the 3rd trimester already. Time is going so fast! I know with everything we have to do and the holiday's the next two months are going to fly by as well. I have low iron again, so starting those vitamins. I had it with LO1 as well. Super more constipation issues.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: Well at least I'm not alone with a breech baby at this point? Don't you have an anterior placenta as well? I asked if that made it harder for baby to turn and he said no, it would just make it harder to try to turn baby manually if it came to that. But I don't think that's something I'd try anyway.
Sorry about the iron! My midwife told me about a food-based iron supplement called Floradix (sp?) that is not supposed to cause constipation. Maybe you could ask about that?
Hope you aren't getting sick! We are traveling for a wedding this weekend and I would hate to be sick too.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: Yes, I have an anterior placenta as well, again. Let's hope this LO turns and gives me an easy delivery like her big sister. I will look into the Floradix.

@IRunForFun: Good to hear that the baby is doing well.
I haven't updated in a while. Last appointment was last Tuesday at 26+1. Everything still looks good. I think the baby is still breech due to feeling all kicks low and have no idea if I have an anterior placenta. I don't know when my son turned, but he did at some point. Got the TDAP and flu shots on Friday after my son's 2 year well check. Had a disaster of a time getting my glucose test yesterday.
We went and had a big breakfast and then I went to get the test done. (I had to fast an hour prior to the test and during the test). When I got to the lab, the doctor hadn't ordered the test in the system. When I got to the OB's desk, the doctor had left for lunch, so it took another hour prior to getting the order into the system. Then I was finally able to take the test. I ended up needing to fast (other than water) for four hours. Luckily, my digestion has slowed and I didn't want anything anyway. I am putting in a complaint about not putting in the lab work. They also tested for anemia as well.
I won't hear good results until my next appointment on Nov 15, so if I don't get a phone call, I assume I passed.
Other than that, we moved some furniture around in the kid's room. My son has happily been sleeping in his new twin bed, so I should have no issues with using the crib for the new baby. It is so weird, seeing the height of the crib. I am starting to pull out baby clothes. It is hard to believe that I will have a new baby in three short months.

@IRunForFun: I did, I have it again I was expecting it, so it's just annoying. I'm trying to see if I can avoid making yet more appts for diabetic counseling since I already know what to do. The upsize is, my weight gain will slow for sure! I'm also not opposed to getting induced again, but seems like my OB now is more open to inducing later (last OB insisted on 39 weeks no exceptions)
pomelo / 5509 posts
@snowjewelz: Awwww boo. Well, at least you're prepared! That's great your OB is open to later induction. I have had doula clients with GD and as long as they keep control of their sugar levels typically the doctors/midwives say there's not much extra risk! It's when the sugars aren't controlled that the risks go up.
@Mrs. Toad: Funny we've got some breech babies at this stage of the game. My MFM said only about 1/3 of babies are breech by the 3rd trimester. Glad to hear all is going well, though! Nice progress on the nursery!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@IRunForFun: last time I couldn't control my fasting # so I had to go on a low dose of glyburide... I guess we will see what happens this time. I'm just trying to stay optimistic bc it really is such a pain to prick my finger and watch my diet!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@snowjewelz: Sorry! But the plus side is you won't be gaining weight like crazy like me. I should give up carbs!
@Mrs. Toad: Jealous of your progress on the nursery.
We are hoping moving the guest room/office down to the basement on the 12th. Fingers crossed we stay on schedule to be finished. I told DH I want the nursery done by Thanksgiving. I don't have to have everything washed by then, but I want to relax as much as possible in Dec. Working on knocking out my Christmas list as much as I can before then. Operation baby stay in till January!
persimmon / 1095 posts
@Smurfette: I have a two bedroom apartment. Other than moving a little bit of furniture around and buying the twin bed, there was nothing to do to the nursery. The baby will be in a pack and play for a few weeks immediately upon birth, but I hope to transition at a few weeks old.
I need to look at the big Christmas present for my son and presents for the nieces/nephew. I need to get those in Nov because we will see them for Thanksgiving. I also want to relax mostly in Dec.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Mrs. Toad: Still having the crib up and washing clothes already, is progress. I wish that I could start on this stuff already. I am such a planner, this is driving me crazy. Which is funny since we moved into our house at 35 weeks with LO. and prior to that didn't have an urge to do anything at this point in our condo.
I am hoping to get DH's side done for Christmas before Thanksgiving. Then can bring them with us so I don't have to pay to ship them. I guarantee they haven't even thought about the fact that we won't be able to travel for Christmas. I am not offering for them to come to us.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
We STILL haven't finished DD's room either. My parents are coming over this weekend to help entertain DD so we can really focus on getting it done!
I still have done zero things for DD2.. But in reality, there really isn't much to do I guess!
My sister wants to throw me a sprinkle when she's home from law school over Thanksgiving week... To be honest, I'm so lazy and I just don't feel like anything hahaha.

Checking in
Hope everyone is doing ok, I am officially at the point of having to bend around (or attempt to) baby stage. She's definitely in the way in there when bending my body, in the best kind of way!!
Had my meeting with HR yesterday, last day will be November 29th, back January 2018.....craziness!
I did the 2 hour fasting GD test Monday morning and got a call late yesterday that no GD for me, so that is great!
We just committed this morning to a contractor and having a basement bedroom put in. We have 1600 sq ft unfinished down there and were going to have DD1 and DS share, but he has been horrible lately so we are chucking the room on our line of credit and going to have him down there. So pretty much any bedroom plans/nursery design/decor is on hold until that is done, he is in his new room and that frees up DD2's room to be done! I am on the hunt for a dresser for it, we have one that will work, but I am looking for (a second hand) one that will look much more cute!
My DD1 is 4 today, eeek where is the time going!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@sunnyday: Yay, no GD! And happy 4th birthday to DD1!
Had my monthly scan today; DD2 looks good, growing well, a little over 2 lbs. I guess she turned? Since I don't remember her being head down last time. My blood pressure has been fine without taking aspirin so I'm just not gonna bother.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@sunnyday: You get a month off before your due date? Jealous!!
@snowjewelz: Let's hope she stays head down!
Jealous of everyone that will still get ultrasounds. I won't have one unless they think something is wrong.

We haven't gotten anything organized in the nursery at all. We just moved and there's a nice paint job in there, so we are going to leave it as is and plan colors around it. It's a periwinkle color and since we are Team Green I'm doing white/gray/mint green accents and will add other color pops depending on gender. We have some hand-me-downs including a crib mattress, a rock n play, a bouncer, and a changing pad. I also have a few clothing items and a small cloth diaper stash. Everything is just piled in the room for now. I think after my shower in 3 weeks we will start to put it all together.
@sunnyday: Yay for no GD!! And happy 4th birthday to your DD!!
@snowjewelz: Hooray for a head down baby and that she's growing well! And good news on good BP!! I'm on baby aspirin in addition to my blood thinners and man I bleed so easily now.
We are at a wedding this weekend and I feel like I'm (or baby is) going through a growth spurt. My appetite has been insane and I'm eating anything that isn't nailed down. I hope it calms down soon! The wedding is in 4 hours and I didn't sleep great last night so I'm about to attempt a nap before I have to get ready so I can make it through the reception!

@Smurfette: no more u/s for me either, but I've had 4 extra on top of the "normal" 3 by this point, so I am okay with that! I have to use my vacation time before mat leave (because I accrue vacation while off, so will come back with 24 days!) so that is why I am off early....just technically on vacay.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@sunnyday: still a month of vacation. That sounds like heaven!

@IRunForFun: I feel like she has grown this week. I feel huge. I said to a co-worker today, I have no clue where the next 12 weeks are going to go!

@Smurfette: Yes! I plan on wrapping presents, crocheting my life away and watching LOTS of TV, lol.

@Smurfette: I feel huge too! I got my first comment about looking big last night. We were taking an uber back from the rehearsal dinner with some of DH's college buddies and the uber driver said congratulations to me. I commented that I didn't even realize he was talking to me at first because most strangers aren't just acknowledging my pregnancy and one of DH's friends said, "Well, you do look like you're about to explode!" Thanks dude...

@IRunForFun: men are seriously clueless. We will take my 28 week picture tomorrow. I will try and get one on my phone too to post.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: You look great!! I know you said the scale hasn't been kind to you, but I recall seeing a pic you posted weeks ago, and you don't look like you've gotten too much bigger, especially anywhere but the belly!!
Here I am at 27 weeks exactly after prenatal yoga - which feels amazing at this stage. We were all dressed up for a wedding this past weekend and I wish I'd gotten better pics from that, but they all came out dark. Oh well.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: you are to kind. My hips and thighs are bigger for sure. Always where I gain weight. Oh well she will be worth it.
You look fabulous!!

Hi ladies! @irunforfun and @smurfette - you both look great! I've gained more weight in my hips and thighs this time around too but small potatoes in the grand scheme of things.
Things are going well here, my GD test is on 11/7 so hopefully all that Halloween candy won't impact anything. 'My eating has been less than stellar this pregnancy. But baby BOY seems to be doing just fine, moves a ton and I think we're both just growing right along.
Anybody else dealing with terrible insomnia? Even unisom isn't helping anymore, ugh! And DD (who is almost 2) keeps waking up between 4-5 am so I guess we're just getting prepared for newborn days over here!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@emilye519: Congrats on the boy! No advice on the insomina. Mine is bad. I was taking 1/2 unisom and it would knock me out. Now I have to take a whole one and still some nights it doesn't work. (My cold doesn't help either).

Here's 29w for me (last week). Can't believe it's 30w Wednesday.
I am up 35lbs or so, so freaking uncomfortable most times, and trying to get horizontal as much as I can to take the pressure off my lady bits, lol.
I got a steal of a deal off classifieds online for a dresser for baby room yesterday....hello solid $50!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@sunnyday: You look great! Cute sweater. Steal on the dresser!
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: Thank you! Also next list, my due date has been moved to 1/22.
@emilye519: I'm not sure I can help with the insomnia either. I've been taking half a Benadryl every night and it helps me fall asleep but not stay asleep. I usually wake up around 5 and have trouble getting back to sleep.
@sunnyday: You look great! Where are you hiding an extra 35 lbs? Score on the dresser! We got a solid wood dresser for $50 at a secondhand store but we have to paint it.
kiwi / 573 posts
@IRunForFun: lol on the weight. It's everywhere! I am so looking forward to working out again and getting it off, but until then....bring it on!
The dresser is such a steal for the fact of not having to refinish, my DH is still getting over his summer project kitchen table and 8 chairs, lol. This dresser will mismatch the rest of the furniture (dark stain, espresso'ish and some dark walnut) but for what it is in everything other than colour, I will deal! I took off the back panels yesterday and got all the dust bunnies out and cleaned it up!

Man this was 2 weeks ago (I'm 29 weeks now) and I'm hugeeee.

You gals all look so cute! I'll have to take one tomorrow at work (we weirdly have no full length mirrors in our house!).
26 weeks today- the time is really starting to fly by! with Halloween and then the holidays it really will be January before we know it. I haven't hopped on the scale in a couple of weeks, but I've definitely been more hungry than normal in the last week or two! I'm still plugging along with running and yoga. Both help stretch things out a bit I think and my back always feels better after a run these days!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@snowjewelz: You look great!! Not huge at all!
@madger: Seriously, we are going to be on baby watch before we know it.
