@babypugs: Oh no, what's going on? We're totally slacking on DD's big girl room too. We literally will need a whole day to do it, and need to enlist grandparents to occupy DD..
@IRunForFun: Oh, good idea! I still have the stuff from last time, I'm totally going to check my fasting #. I think maybe that's the # you can check too since that's the one they'll look at to determine GD?

@snowjewelz: I have to pick which day to do mine, I am thinking I will go tomorrow or Thursday just to get it done. Friday works better, but lab isn't open. I have the drink at home with me, it stares at me every time I open the fridge! I didn't do the test with #2, did with #1 and didn't have it. It seems like everyone around me had it when tested recently though, it's weird.
@babypugs: I know. An DS is being SUPER tough right now (like I question why I became a parent, he is terrible). And I am pretty sure his behaviour and some diet changes are all related, but I just sort of don't know what to do with him. Everyone around us just laughs meaning well but saying how are you going to do this when #3 arrives. These last few days have me scared for how him and DD are going to share a room, she needs sleep.....and he is just a non-sleeping, screaming joy. Ugh.
Next doc appt is the 12th! I am 27w tomorrow, and 3 months until EDD today, eeep! I am up 30lbs.
I had a massage yesterday and an appt to order compression tights, ordered three pairs. Need to find a belly support band, but so far research has been a little overwhelming. Of course the Canadian thing is annoying too for research, think I find a great one and either can't buy it here and buying/exchange plus shipping from US is insane. No one around me has really used one and I am trying to put feelers out there for recco's, but so far go no.

@babypugs: How old is your DD? My DS is challenging every bit of patience and every bit of everything I have. I am pretty much at wits end and it seriously sucks. It's insane how amazing my DD is and like...they're only a year and a half apart and soooo different.

I had my 23 week appointment today. I'll do the glucose and tdap test at my next appointment (they told me today they don't do tdap any earlier than 27 weeks).
We moved our 2 year old to her big girl room about 10 days ago and she's doing AWESOME. She really likes it and has had zero issues moving to a full sized bed yet, which is great!
We haven't done much to prepare for the ACTUAL baby yet though! Now that we have all of our daughter's stuff cleared out of the nursery, I might start digging through our clothes bins the next time we have a free weekend.
@sunnyday: I got the Gabriella band last time and I'll use it again for running this time when my bump gets a little bigger!

@babypugs: my LO is back to stalling, big time. I am so over the 10+ trips every night that she has to come out for. Hope you get it figured out soon.
@sunnyday: I have never heard of you taking the drink home with you. Hope your DS gets back to normal soon.
@madger: glad that the transition to a big girl bed as gone so great!

@snowjewelz: Yeah, my fasting number is always good! Like below 90. But then when I've tested an hour after eating it's been as high as 155, which makes me nervous that when they test me an hour after drinking the glucose stuff I'll be high. I think the cutoff is 140?
So fun to read about everyone's older kiddos and moving them to big kid rooms. We just moved into our house Friday and just finished painting our master bedroom. Next up is the nursery. I think I need a bit of a break from painting first though! And should probably work on getting the rest of the house organized first...
I have a midwife appt tomorrow, it's my 24 week (yay viability!) I don't think they'll be worried about lack of weight gain anymore since I'm up 3 to 4 lbs since my last appt!

@Smurfette: Yes on drink! It's nice cause I can have a mostly normal morning and just have to time the drive time within completing the drink and making it to the lab at the one hour mark (it's 40 min away). I called yesterday for a refresher on what I needed to do since I skipped this with #2.
@madger: I just ordered Gabrialla! Thank-you! Reviews looked good. Was $52 with free shipping here, I got the strong support one and hopefully it will help. Looks like it will be uncomfortable when I am sitting though (based on reviews) and I am up/down a lot, so I will need to be conscious of that.

@sunnyday: interesting. My office is very rigid with it. They write down the exact time you finish it, then have your OB appointment and meet with the OB nurse about what classes you are interested in (none this time for us), and then the lab calls you at exactly one hour when you finished.

@Smurfette: I took the drink home for the testing post partum cause I was like uhh I have to breastfeed like crazy and don't have time to sit there!
cherry / 178 posts
@sunnyday: yeah, it's a little weird when you sit down (I mostly used it for running), but it definitely helped!

@sunnyday: I just learned today I also get to take my glucose drink home and drink it an hour before my 28 week appointment. I was instructed to eat scrambled eggs and toast 30 minutes before drinking it, so I guess they don't test my fasting level?
Had my 24 week appointment today and all was good. Gained 5 lbs in 5 weeks and uterus was measuring spot on for where I am. Heart rate in the high 140s.
I'm starting to struggle with indigestion and reflux. Woke up at 1 am last night to take Tums because I felt like I had burning liquid in my throat. That was not fun.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: I don't have to fast either. Said to eat a normal breakfast, which is eggs for me.
I am popping tums like crazy this week. I woke up last night, well LO woke me up, and I couldn't get back to sleep cause I thought that I was going to puke. My restless leg is awful at night too. So basically I am sleeping like crap every night.
kiwi / 573 posts
@IRunForFun: I ended up downing mine this morning and going in at the hour mark.
I wasn't sure when else I would get it done, my appt next week is the in the afternoon and the lab is only open until noon, I had a quiet morning at work, so zipped over. Gah it was terrible to get down, but the time I got to lab I had a headache and was so thirsty for water! Glad it's done!
I have a prescription I have yet to fill for something to help with the heartburn, I hate taking anything preggo so am paranoid, but need to just get over myself so I can get some sleep.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@IRunForFun: @Smurfette: So weird! Last OB made me fast tooand my fasting # was sooo high.
I'm with you ladies with the heartburn/indigestion/crappy sleep!!
@sunnyday: Heartburn is killing me over here too.. What prescription did you get? I hate eating Tums so I've just been dealing with it...
kiwi / 573 posts
@snowjewelz: I will look on the script when I get home. It's a drug name versus brand name but she referenced a brand name when she said she was giving me the prescription.

@snowjewelz: Just your typical multi-hour bedtime delay and night wake ups! Ah, the year olds...
@sunnyday: Geez, sounds tough. Mine is 3 in a couple weeks. Hang in there! Won't it be great when we can have wine again?
@Smurfette: I'm sorry you're dealing with it too! Don't these little darlings know that they're supposed to behave even a newborn is on the way? Ha!
It's so cool that done of you guys can drink the glucose drink at home! Hope we ask come out well with the test--I know I have no desire to quit my Oreos!
@Smurfette: @sunnyday: @snowjewelz: Pregnancy heartburn is no joke. Ugh. Mine has sort of tapered off. Hope everyone feels better!

@babypugs: I have no desire to give up my junk food either! I have eaten two chocolates from a box I got for my birthday so far today and am dying for an m&m cookie right now. Which I don't have.

@babypugs: My guy will be three in May, and of course he has gifted me with a fabulous last 24 hours or so. He's been a gem. He is so polar. No middle, all the way good, or all the way terrible!!
My DD will be 4 in two weeks, eeeeek! Time is flying, this year she really gets it's her birthday. We haven't yet done a party for any of the kids, just parents/grandparents for dins, but this may be our last year of getting away with it!

@Smurfette: Sorry you've been feeling and sleeping so crappy!! I have heard that magnesium supplements can help restless leg, if you're not already trying something for it.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: I am already taking it. I go to the OB on Monday, so I am going to ask them about doubling up on it or if anything else will help.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Smurfette: Wahoo!
Ugh, I just keep feeling like I'll have it again
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@snowjewelz: I probably need to follow the diet, the scale isn't being nice to me.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Smurfette: I must say that cutting out carbs last time, I literally immediately stopped gaining weight
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@snowjewelz: yeah I am going to cut way back during the week. Try and just some indulges on the weekends. I lost it all last time, although my pants didn't fit still, by the time I went back to work. but I am 4 years older, so I have a feeling it is going to be much much harder.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Smurfette: I never even lost everything from last time. I think we're done at 2, so I'm gonna have to work really hard to get back to where I was before DD1!!
kiwi / 573 posts
@snowjewelz: Sorry it took me so long.....script (that I still haven't filled :p) is for ranitidine hydrochloride which I think is Zantac?
@Smurfette: Woooo! I am hoping I hear soon!
@madger: I got the Gabrialla. It's heaven on earth in terms of relief, I read to take breaks from it, and am diligent getting it off when sitting/not needed and am next near crippled and I think more uncomfortable (like radiating pain down legs!) when it's not on. So I think I have created a problem, lol. I see my doc tomorrow.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@sunnyday: Didn't you do yours last week and you don't have results? My office took the blood draw and right then tested it and gave me the results. They just had to send of the blood to test iron and vitamin c.
persimmon / 1101 posts
@Smurfette: Woot woot!
@Smurfette: @snowjewelz: I have definitely gained much more this time! Last time I was hardly hungry and everything was off about a week post-birth. This time, not so much. I was uncomfortably stuffed when I went to bed last night and woke up two hours later starving. Why???!!!
cherry / 178 posts
@sunnyday: I'm glad it has helped, but I'm sorry you are still in so much pain! I hope your doctor can give you some answers.
@Smurfette: @snowjewelz: I wish I could remember when I had gained what with my daughter to compare! I've been STARVING the last few weeks though, so we must be going through a growth spurt!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@madger: Same! I wasn't gaining much at all and then this past month, bam!!!
kiwi / 573 posts
@Smurfette: Canada? haha. Maybe different process in our system? Not sure.
I DID get a call yesterday and borderline passed so they want me to fast and do the two hour, lame!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@sunnyday: Ugh very lame!
I can't even go in till 9:30am tomorrow, I don't know if I can not eat breakfast... I'm gonna call them later and see. I'm usually up by 6:30 so I just can't imagine not eating anything.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: Hooray for passing!
@babypugs: Yep, I have had to get up in the middle of the night several times to grab a granola bar, so I've just started keeping them on my nightstand! Along with my Tums and Colace... So glamorous!!
@sunnyday: Oh man!! Passing is passing! That's lame they're making you do the 2-hour.
@snowjewelz: Definitely call and ask! I was specifically instructed TO eat beforehand. But I know you said they check your fasting number. Strange how different practices do it differently.
My glucose test isn't until Nov. 2nd but I'm so not looking forward to it.
I have finally started getting back into an exercise routine this week - just long walks and prenatal yoga/strength videos - and feeling good about that. I really had a goal to be fit going into labor and I slacked majorly!!
Also I struggled terribly with constipation this week. Anyone else? I was opposite of that the first 20 or so weeks so this was new. Finally a combination of Colace, bran cereal, and apples worked a bit, but yuck. Not fun!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@IRunForFun: it really isn't that bad. The drink reminds me of the orange sofa from McDs back in the day. The worse part was how thirsty it made me and you can't drink water for that hour.
I have constipation issues as well. I take fiber gummies every day and then Colace if things stop up. Also increase my veggies. I really hope my iron doesn't come back low like last pregnancy cause the iron pills made it even worse.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Smurfette: I think I got a fruit punch flavor. Luckily my midwife said I could have sips of water after I have the drink, as long as I don't chug water. I can't stand feeling thirsty!
kiwi / 573 posts
I loved the McDonald's orange drink, but this just has an extra kick to it that is instant headache and just gross!!
I booked my next one for Monday morning next week, getting it done.
Friday!! Looking forward to the weekend, my Grandma's 70th party is tomorrow, and those are always fun, am looking forward to that.

I think I had the orange soda one last time. I'm not a sweets person at all and I don't remember it being too bad. hopefully I have the same experience this time! mine isn't for another few weeks.

I graduated from the perinatologist! Placenta moved up. Baby was all rolled up so her hands and feet were in her face but we did see a cute yawn. She is measuring 2.5lbs, 50%. The tech said she could see hair already.
