@IRunForFun: oh yeah I am just wearing one of my wedding bands. I hate not wearing my whole set.
Hope you feel better! At least you will get some good sleep with all that Benadryl.

They told me today that I tested again GBS+.

@IRunForFun: My DD ended up with it. Picked her up yesterday afternoon and first thing she said "my tummy hurts". Thank-goodness home isn't far. She began throwing up within a few mins of us getting home and was home today. Bleh! DH is man colding, I have a cold sore on my nose from it being so dry/blowing so much...we're just a lovely house!!

@Peasinapod: Also in Canada, aside from diapers, small tubes of vaseline, peri bottle and pain meds and stool softenders for me.....didn't get anything else for home. Definitely smuggled some big pads and baby hospital blankets (I don't even know why.....they're too small).

I have had my rings off the last couple weeks, put my wedding rings on tonight (and still on) and neeeeed to get them off before bed, find I swell up at night and panic my part way through the night pee when I can't get them off.....then I don't sleep, lol.

Moved my doc appt from today to tomorrow as DD was home today.....I really need a stay at home/go no where rest day....maybe Friday.

    @Smurfette: I'm sorry!

I haven't been able to take off my rings since last pregnancy, haha!

@snowjewelz: @IRunForFun: @Smurfette: thanks for the good wishes ladies!

I don't know how you all handle being sick this late in pregnancy . My first was a September baby so no colds in the third trimester. This is brutal !

Scan went fine today; DD1 measuring 6 lbs 9 oz... I was supposed to go to the OB too but re-scheduled for tomorrow morning. At this point I think it's just deciding when to induce!

@sunnyday: Hope you are getting your stay home/rest day today!

@Peasinapod: Luckily my colds were in the second tri so before the general misery of the third tri. Hope you're feeling better!

@snowjewelz: How many weeks are you now?

  8. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@IRunForFun: Is it sad that I have to check? lol! 37 weeks as of yesterday... I know the earliest I will get induced is 39 weeks which is the 29th.

  9. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@snowjewelz: I think that is well within the normal range right? I would assume at 39 weeks, she would still be between 8-9lbs. and probably on the lower end of 8lbs.

  10. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@Smurfette: I don't know... For me that's a gigantic baby as DD1 was only 6 lbs 4 oz and I'm like 5'1".... And last time with DD1 I already had to get cut and they had to suck out her head at the end lol!

  11. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@snowjewelz: gotcha. My first was 8lbs at 39 weeks so that is what I am expecting again. 6.4 seems so tiny!
But keep in mind they are off in their measurements all the time.

  12. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@Smurfette: Yes... DD1 was supposedly over 7 lbs! So I'm reaaaally hoping DD2 won't be as big as they say! Smaller the better please!!

Had my 37w appt Thursday. 192 lbs, bp was 130/70. Nothing crazy discussed. Checked me and am 2-3cm dilated, but babes still high, so no thoughts of early arrival. Booked my weekly appts for the rest of the pregnancy, last one I booked is 40+2 on January 6th and I am betting on the 7th for baby day, haha we'll see.

@sunnyday: man if I was that dialated I would be expecting to go any day! How dialated were you when you went into labor with your other ones?
I have appointments through Jan 4th, 39 weeks. Not making a 40 weeks one unless it is for an induction!

@Smurfette: My doc says it's to be expected with third kid. I know I have been 1-2cm with checks with previous two beyond 37w, so not surprising? Said cervix is soft, but no thinning. Have to keep it mind to it's all discretionary, another doc may say not 2-3, you know? I was 5cm when I got to the hospital with DD1, 4cm with DS.

I wonder when my doc would want to induce. I had an induction set with DD1 for 41+2 (had her at 41w). Nothing was ever set for DS (came at 40+5). I feel like if I commit to January 7th mentally (lol 40+3) it will happen!!

@afishermanswife: Toooooooo cute!! Thank-you for sharing! Hope weigh in goes good! Were you off work already? Love the head of hair, it is insane to me that if I had our wee one today they would look "like" yours in terms of growth/development yet she's still on the inside, so crazy!!

@afishermanswife: My goodness, he is adorable!! Look at that hair! I hope the appt goes well! I was thinking similar to @sunnyday: I can't believe there's a full-grown baby like that inside me right now!!

@snowjewelz: I was thinking the other day we'd have to start one soon, looks like it's definitely time!

What is losing mucus plug like? Since I was induced last time I didn't experience that or water breaking (they broke it after I was on epidural).

I've been having a TON of discharge and I think I just saw some glob before I flushed (sry TMI )

@afishermanswife: What an adorable boy! Hope everything goes well at the doctor's office.

I am 36 weeks today and it's hard for me to believe. Appointment tomorrow morning. I am due in a month and will be happy to be slightly late.

    pomegranate / 3032 posts

@snowjewelz: I was wondering about the plug thing too.... I havent lost mine yet, as far as I can tell. I do remember losing it with my daughter but i dont remember when. Do you have to lose it to go into labor spontaneously (as in not induced)?

A friend of mine said she lost her twice... once about 3 weeks before her due date then it maybe grew back because she lost a second plug like 4 days before she delivered.

    persimmon / 1095 posts

@snowjewelz: I don't know about the mucus plug, but I did have a leak in the water. It was just a bit more wetness in my underwear. As it was an actual leak, and I was past 40 weeks, I was induced that night.

  35. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@Chillybear: hahaha it grew back? or maybe she just lost a little? i'm pretty sure you can lose it and still have like weeks to go. This is what google just told me -

If your midwife or doctor does vaginal exams in the third trimester, this can also cause you to lose the mucus plug early. However, if it's lost before the 37 week period, be sure to let your midwife know so she can keep an eye on things. Losing it early on in pregnancy could also indicate premature labor.

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@Mrs. Toad: I have a really bad cough right now so I've been like peeing myself this whole weekend Maybe I coughed too hard so my mucus plug got loose

  37. Chillybear

regardless, if i havent lost my plug i wont go in labor right? right!? I need this baby to stay put for 6 1/2 more days

  38. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@snowjewelz: if I remember correctly it is a huge glob. Way more discharge then normal. You can google it, if you dare
@Chillybear: you can lose it weeks before you go into labor. Fingers crossed baby stays put!

  39. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @Chillybear: Haha I'm sure you'll be fine!

@Smurfette: Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm passing some mucus plug then... I'm going to my OB in an hour so we'll see what's going on! I'm actually pretty into being induced on the 29th now... Hopefully she'lll come on the 29th or 30th. I don't even care if I have to stay in the hospital through NYE...

  40. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@snowjewelz: Everything I have read and also my experiences with doula clients points to the mucus plug on its own not meaning much. Some people lose it really early and yes it does regenerate! Others lose it slowly in pieces over weeks at a time. Still others lose the whole thing at once and still don't go into labor for a while. And then some don't lose it until they're starting or in labor. Soooo...it's anyone's guess. Apparently if you lose the plug AND it's bloody that's more of a bloody show situation and can mean more about labor starting.
