My bump is growing! The babies have been super active the past few days, and I’m loving feeling their little kicks
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@Jessiemuller88: Looking amazing!!! So glad you are enjoying lots of movements!
I could always just kick my toddler off the boob, but then I feel guilty and nostalgic that our bf days are probably limited... hopefully teething is wrapping up for the time being...
Anyone else feel super tired, all the time? I feel like I've forgotten what it's like not to feel constantly exhausted. And it shouldn't be that bad at this point - I'm solidly out of first tri but not that big or uncomfortable yet, relative to what I know is coming Only have one other kid and life is busy but could definitely be crazier. Yet the exhaustion is already nuts...

@periwinklebee: soooooooooo tired. I don’t feel like doing anything extra these days, even on weekends. I’m with you.
I wouldn’t want to kick him off either. I was honestly sad when I weaned my son at 15 months. I missed the special moments of it!

@Jessiemuller88: Tired mamas unite! I hear you on weekends. We were pretty lazy with weekends during summer - and I really enjoy the unstructured time with DS - but have more craziness coming up over the next month: a whirlwind trip to visit family, a wedding, and my last trip for work, for hopefully quite awhile. One thing I love about Dec/Jan due dates is no holiday travel - I do enjoy seeing my family but it's always such a zoo to travel then, and they're not close. We had such a pleasant Thanksgiving/Christmas before DS was born, as we otherwise never had time off work that's not about traveling to visit family....
DH started a new job two weeks before DS was born, and now seems pretty serious about switching jobs again. He's in the middle of an interview process for a job he seems really excited about, and even worse than last time this job is based in NY. They told him he could ultimately build a team here, but still the center of gravity, especially initially, would be there. It's far enough that it's not a day trip, either. I know I should worry about it only if he gets the job, but still find the prospect sort of upsetting. Like I really want to support him in his career and he always supports me, but the timing is lousy...

I'm still totally wiped out from the weekend too! We were out at a wedding from like 9am till 5pm; I was DEAD!

@graceandjoy: Ugh, hope you have a chance to get to bed early a few nights this week - that sounds fun but exhausting!

@periwinklebee: And replying back to your previous post, we had DD2 at probably the worst timing ever as well, it was SUPER hard on me the first 3-4 months.... But hey, we survived But I totally understand and felt the same stress of what is to come. Do you think he would really take it if he got the offer? Or still have so much to discuss as a family?
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@graceandjoy: Based on what he knows about the job now, he's pretty into it. Granted he could learn new info during the interview process/visit that makes it less desirable. I think I'm just bracing for what a struggle it would be to solo all the time with my super clingy toddler and a newborn (no family nearby) - and life already feels a bit nuts - but as you say, it's about survival those first few months (sometimes I worry about my capabilities even in that regard!)

Anybody else constantly FAMISHED? It's nuts, I hope this is normal and doesn't mean I'm going to gain a zillion pounds. Also, my sweet tooth is crazy, I'm still feeling a bit resentful that I forgot about the farmers market near my office yesterday and thus didn't pick up a chocolate fudge donut - I WANT THAT DONUT (and I don't even like donuts, WTF pregnancy )
pear / 1565 posts
Yep! I'm totally living it up now b/c I just assume I'll have GD for the 3rd time
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@jaguar: @graceandjoy: Hah, at least it's normal! My GD test is coming up in a couple of weeks. Last time it was fine, but every pregnancy is different so we'll see. Ugh - does not sound like fun!
pear / 1565 posts
@periwinklebee: No, it really is not! Tho I def stressed myself out over it too much the first time. 2nd time, I had muscle memory for the first time. I'm super tempted to just tell my OB I'll go on the diet and prick my finger and to forget about the test I don't really want to hold out hope, even though I guess it is possible that I may not have it this time...
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@graceandjoy: fingers crossed!!! Understand why you don't want to get hopes up, but I'm really hoping third times a charm for you!

Anyone else have watery discharge? Mine is usually creamy but it has changed into watery the past few days. It’s worrying me a little that I’m leaking fluid or something.
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@Jessiemuller88: I sometimes do... ugh pregnancy....
I am teaching a large lecture class - like 100 people in the room and more online - and today started to get super dizzy in the middle of it. Tried to push through but then everything got really blurry and I had to take a break and sit down because if not I was going to faint. A student brought me a bottle of water and I felt better after sitting for 30 seconds but had to drag a chair over to the podium and sit down a couple more times. A couple of hours later, I'm feeling more or less fine but a bit lightheaded still.
I've never had this happen before, even when running outside in the heat, which I do fairly often. It wasn't hot and I'd eaten lunch just before. The internet seems to mostly say it's a common, routine pregnancy thing, though with a footnote about all the problems it could possibly indicate.
Anyone have this happen? And how do I keep it from happening again? I'm not sure if I should call the doctor (office is closed so I'd have to call L&D at the hospital, which is always an annoying experience), or just chalk it up to normal pregnancy stuff and maybe mention to my doctor at my next visit...

@periwinklebee: Not currently pregnant so a total creep following the boards! But - I totally had this with my second pregnancy one night and had to ask my then 2.5 year old to bring me a glass of water. Talked to my OB at my next apt and she wasn't phased and just said to make sure I was well hydrated.
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@KNS: Thank you!!! This makes me feel better! Going to work on hydrating...

Well, I'm 98% I'm no longer in the "down 5 lbs from BFP" club... And have probably found any of the weight I lost and then some.
Also heavily contemplating making an appointment at a boutique place for gender confirmation because I kind of need to know what this baby is sooner than later.

@periwinklebee: thanks for responding!
That sounds like a scary experience, but likely normal pregnancy stuff. I’m sure it was a combo of the crowd, being on your feet, etc, but I’d definitely mention it to your doctor.
@Sams Mom: I hear ya on the weight gain. I had a lady tell me I looked huge today at work. She must have felt bad because then she said, “Maybe it’s just the dress you are wearing” 🤣
Please go and find out the gender!!! I fully support this decision. I’m dying to know.

@periwinklebee: another creepy thread crasher I had this a lot ... each baby seemed to sit lower and cause more of it. For me I think it was blood pooling due to where baby was sitting (I also had a lot of swelling) and my blood pressure would drop (it was quite low at times in general) and make me feel bad. My two remedies (hydration is also a good idea since it props up blood pressure!) were having an option to sit - I kept a barstool in the kitchen for cooking - and to keep moving (standing still was a problem but walking was ok). Hopefully more extreme than you will see but I think an option to sit is helpful and pacing might help too.

@bhbee: Thank you!!! Ugh, I swear, how does everything get worse with each pregnancy? You'd think it should be like working out or something, where it gets easier with time and practice But clearly not. This makes a lot of sense. DS was super low throughout the third tri, and I feel like this baby is wedged way down there as well. I'm going to try both of these things, super helpful!
@Jessiemuller88: Thank you!!!
@Sams Mom: I was fairly sick the first half of pregnancy and at probably my lowest weight since freshman year of college at the end of the first tri. I feel like my body has made up for it by being FAMISHED all the time now that the MS is better, and weight gain has definitely picked up.
I hope you can get in for the elective US soon!

@periwinklebee: I always wonder how the heck people survived having so many kids prior to good birth control ... I know starting young would make a difference but they were still having them in late 30s and just on number 8 or 10 or whatever ...
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@bhbee: It's truly nuts to think about. I guess life was difficult in so many ways that pregnancy misery (if you survived it) was just the tip of the iceberg. So many reasons why I am happy to be alive today!

The level of discharge (all kinds!) in this pregnancy has been so gross. How is it now @Jessiemuller88: ??
@periwinklebee: Are you feeling ok now? Sounds like low BP, you poor thing.
24 weeks here and feeling absolutely ginormous.
clementine / 973 posts
@jaguar: still pretty watery, but I called my doctor and she said it’s normal. I get a scan tomorrow, so that should put my mind at ease!
Yay for 24 weeks!! I feel huge too. Some of my maternity shirts are becoming too short already
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@jaguar: Felt a bit woozy for the rest of the day yesterday but much better this morning, thank you! I think it's right that the baby was probably smashing something that was making my blood pressure drop, ugh... Yay for 24 weeks!
My app informed me today that since I'm close to third tri, the unpleasant symptoms of pregnancy will now be starting. Um, starting? About six months too late on that one

Just need to complain real quick... Damn pregnancy boobs are forcing me to modify clothing. I'm going to have to sew a small hook and eye in the neck of this dress to be work appropriate. 🙄
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@graceandjoy: I swear there isn't THAT much boob un pregnant. Like yeah, they're 36 DDD on a normal day, but they don't stand up like that outside of pregnancy and breast feeding
pear / 1565 posts
@Sams Mom: Oh so true. I'm a 34DDD but more like deflated balloons until now haha! I just weaned but DD2 was 2.5 so it wasn't like there's a ton of milk in there.

@Sams Mom: I feel you! I look inappropriate for work unless I wear a damn turtleneck. Pregnancy probs!
clementine / 973 posts
I had a checkup and ultrasound today. Both babies were measuring ahead at 1lb 4oz!! I’m measuring 33 weeks (for a singleton), and I’ll be 23 weeks Friday everything looked great, so I’m feeling happy and relieved!

@Jessiemuller88: So glad you had a good appointment!
My chest actually shrunk with pregnancy as my milk supply dried up, though I think it's started to expand back a bit. Still wearing the nursing bras I got when pregnant with DS. After two years they are not in great shape, but i hate bra shopping...
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Jessiemuller88: Glad all is good and that the scan was good. GO BABIES GO. Twin supermumma!
@periwinklebee: hahaha soooo many unpleasant symptoms here man. But clocking along and hoping baby is nice and healthy!
@graceandjoy: So much bigger with subsequent pregnancies, hey?
@Sams Mom: hahaha I feel you mumma. Jugs for days over here.
pear / 1565 posts
@periwinklebee: Get new ones! I was nervous about whether we'd make it bf wise with DD2, so I kept using the same tanks/bras and guess what. I used them for 2.5 years lol. They were beyond frumpy but I kept thinking eh what's the point of buying new ones now!
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@jaguar: I can already tell the final few months are going to be rougher symptom-wise than last time around. Hope all the random annoying symptoms don't get too bad for you!
@graceandjoy: hah, yeah, this will probably be me

I had my 16 week appointment today. They had a student trying to find baby with the Doppler. My child wouldn't stay still long enough to get a few beats, but finally stayed still long enough for a reading. BPM was 152 (down from 172 at 12 weeks).
@Jessiemuller88: I was coming to terms with waiting 4 weeks to find out the gender, but then he told me I have to wait 6 weeks until I'm 22 to do the anatomy scan... Sooooooooo I booked at a private clinic for October 5
