    It's perfect!!

I still think I'll go in December! Just a vibe...

@Sams Mom: those look amazing! No judgement here. I peed until I got a dye stealer!

I tried the Doppler for the first time tonight and couldn’t find either baby’s heartbeat. I tried for maybe 5-7 minutes before giving up. I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and was hoping I’d find at least one. I’m kind of discouraged and trying to not stress out!

@Jessiemuller88: all is well, give it a little more time. When is your 12 week appointment?

  14. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@Jessiemuller88: Don't stress! I had to go so far down to find it today, it was still in the pubic region!

    clementine / 973 posts

@Sams Mom: @jaguar: thanks ladies! I just tried again, and I found a heartbeat!! It was 165! I heard it for about 45 seconds then moved the wand to try to find the other baby, and I couldn’t find it again. Oh well. I’m going to be satisfied with hearing one and put the Doppler away for now. I think it causes me more stress at this point. My next appointment is July 11th!

@Jessiemuller88: @jaguar: OMG you guys look so cute!!!

I feel like I'm at the stage where, depending on the outfit and time of day, I do definitely look pregnant, but not so much so that anyone says anything because it could just be a burrito. Like, I can tell people are looking and wondering "is she?" Definitely felt people wondering at 4th of July party. But it's also awkward in the middle of random chit chat to be like "oh, and yes, I am pregnant" 😂

@Sams Mom: Thanks so much for the list, this is awesome!

@jaguar: I, on the other hand, have a feeling I'll go in January.... DS took his sweet time to come. I also feel like it's going to be a huge pain to line up childcare for DS. I'm not for sure if our family will come before the birth, most babysitters we know of are students who will be going home for Christmas, and friends tend to be away visiting family over Christmas. I had a very quick labor with DS, so we really need someone who can drop everything and come right away. But it's a pretty big ask when the baby could very well come on Christmas...

@Jessiemuller88: Good work! I wouldn't be able to find twins. Sometimes just ONE is hidden away and buried under all the other noises whooshing about in there.

@periwinklebee: It's such a tricky time of year to be expecting hey! I'm more worried I'll miss my OB because of all the Christmas and New Year public holidays. Although we already talked induction (like last time) ... so we'll see what happens closer to the date.

@jaguar: I deliver at a huge urban hospital, and don't even really have an OB per se (see whoever is available at my practice in a given week). I think the odds of getting a doctor I've ever seen before are slim. Last time it was some doctor I'd never met. If I'd needed an induction I could have scheduled it to be on a day that a doctor I liked was on shift, but fortunately LO came on his own just in time (I couldn't have pain meds for medical reasons, so really wanted to avoid pitocin contractions!)

@periwinklebee: Well.. each of my girls have arrived in the middle of long weekends. Not ideal, hahaha.

Georgia was the Easter long weekend, and Claire was a bank holiday weekend. First OB missed Georgia's birth (she came early and he was away) and second OB made it there for Claire's birth (JUST) but was away for the rest of our hospital stay.

@periwinklebee: @jaguar: and y'all just made my neurotic-doesn't-take-change-well-never-wants-a-different-doctor-or-nurse self a little happier about the scheduled c sections in my life.

    😂😂😂

I'm delivering at the major urban hospital that's nearby. My practice has a team of 6 midwives, and they recommend scheduling prenatal appointments with each of them so that on delivery day you "know" who you're delivering with.

This is my 2nd time delivering there, so I'm curious if the same midwife will help me this time. Otherwise I just show up for the food and the free mesh underwear.

I will likely have another c-section, as I had to have one with DS. The hospital in my network is large but has a smaller center for women, so it doesn’t feel as big! My practice only has two midwives, and I see both of them, so I feel super comfortable, no matter who it is.

@helloperidot: about those mesh underwear... they may not be cute but are oh so comfortable 😂🤣😂

@Sams Mom: thanks so much for putting the list together! I haven't posted much, but am following along with all of you! My due date was changed to 1/22. 1/27 was my O date, and they're sticking with my LMP date.

I will deliver at a fairly large hospital and could have any one of 12 OBs - whoever is on call that day. It's not ideal, but it's really my only option. There's one other hospital in town but it's much smaller and doesn't offer everything my hospital does. With my first baby I was lucky enough to get a doctor I had seen a few times while my OB was on maternity leave, and I really liked him. With my second, I got someone I had never met before, but she was good too. The only thing I'm worried about is one of the 12 doctors is someone I worked with at a part time job in college. She's really nice and a very well-liked OB in town, but I feel like that would be super awkward...

@jaguar: Hah hah, sounds like you will have a Christmas baby At least you'll have multiple kids with holiday birthdays!

@Sams Mom: All the doctor did was run in, just in time to catch the baby, and sew me up. I was so out of it at that point that I honestly think she could have been a three headed monster and I wouldn't have noticed the difference

@Sams Mom: Thanks for doing this!!

I am so impatiently waiting for my 20 week ultrasound to find out sex. At my 12 week scan the tech showed me what she thought to be a penis. Isn't that too early to tell?? So I am now convinced its a boy but still want a more official read in 1.5 months (even though that's not 100% either)! My midwife didn't recommend NIPT since insurance won't cover as I am not what typically qualifies for that screening.

I have a 2yo girl and would love another girl for her sake but will obviously be overjoyed either way!!

Also, my midwife calculated my due date as 1/2, which was different from the baby app I initially used!

@honey786: a friend of mine was told by the tech she was having a boy at 12 weeks, and she was right! I couldn’t believe they could tell that early either.

@periwinklebee: it doesn't help that out of a practice of 9 doctors and 5 WHNP I have only ever seen my doctor. Whether it's for prenatal, fertility, or well woman, I only ever schedule with/see my OB.
