@NorCalWayfarer: Thanks! My appt on Thursday went great. I really loved the new OB clinic I'm going to and had a fabulous conversation with the midwife about what happened/the traumas associated with my last birth -- and she got it! We had an US and got to see our little baby and hear his/her heartbeat at 9 weeks 3 days. I didn't have an ultrasound this early with my first so that was really, really enjoyable.
@runnerd: Hope your appointment goes well! prayers for your peace of mind! Also, when you get the chance, can you update my due date to 7/7 on the due date list? LO was measuring one day behind what I'd calculated. thanks!
@littleredhairedgrl: Have a wonderful appointment!
@hlk208: Hyperemesis? So sorry to hear that! I believe I had hyperemesis with my first baby although it was never formally diagnosed and that was so.incredibly.hard. This pregnancy has been easier. Did you have it with your other two as well?

@evansjamie: @LovelyPlum: @littleredhairedgrl: @HLK208: @NorCalWayfarer: @coopsmama: thanks so much for the encourage guys!! I was a mess waiting for ultrasound, but things looked great and it's the first point in this pregnancy I have felt any sense of relief! Measured 8w5d, so a day ahead compared to previous u/s, and heartbeat at 164. My doctor was really encouraging and said my ultrasounds get a A+ rating from her I get another ultrasound next week since the spotting is still continuing. That one is really gonna be the one that sets me free to be truly excited!
I keep reminding myself that this is the most pregnant I've been officially. Just got to keep taking one day at a time. Will the first trimester ever be over???? Lol

I haven't been on here for a while - been completely swamped at work and then so tired when I get home. I also had an appointment yesterday and it went great. I am 11 weeks 2 days and measuring right on schedule! The little thing was moving around so much it was hard to get a good picture. The babe even waived at us! So exciting to see. My next appointment is 12/26 and I also have to schedule my NT ultra sound.

@littleredhairedgrl: @runnerd: @coopsmama: @justdarling: Great to hear!
My next appointment is January 2 for NT u/s and first time seeing the midwife (new part of OB's practice is to offer midwife for low risk pregnancies). We'll see if they keep my due date at 7/9 (based on u/s measurements -- it was 7/15 based on LMP and 7/13 based on O).
I'm excited to announce to our parents over Christmas! Less than two weeks!
persimmon / 1135 posts
@norcalwayfarer thanks! we are announcing to a few more relatives on Christmas too! can't wait
nectarine / 2134 posts
Any creative Christmas announcements planned?
I think we're just going to wrap up a onesie for each of my parents and ask them to open them at the same time (they say something like "I Grandpa" on them). I think DH just wants to tell his mom, which seems kinda anticlimactic to me. Just telling our parents at this point -- will probably let our parents announce to the extended family. Announcing to core group of friends at NYE party! A little nervous to announce before second u/s at 13 weeks, but I don't know the next time we'll have all of our friends together!

@NorCalWayfarer: wow, that is such a cute idea! We will be at my in laws, so Christmas morning we are going to let LO run around with a "big Sis" shirt and see what that say! IDK about telling my parents, they don't have a very good track record of not blabbing things to the entire world.
We had our Ultrasound today! Our little peanut is measuring ahead and they changed the EDD to July 26th. Seems so far away, but I know it will go by fast! They tested my thyroid this time and turns out I have underactive thyroid. They are just monitoring it at this point, but it's another anxiety point for me!

@runnerd: So glad you had a great ultrasound! Let's hope it's smooth sailing for everyone from here on out! I feel like I will never really feel "relaxed" about it, my midwife even laughs at me, but only someone that has had a loss can know how hard it is!!!
nectarine / 2134 posts
@kml636: Cute! Yeah I don't trust either set of parents not to blab and hence why we are waiting until 12 weeks to tell anyone!

Congrats to everyone who's had appointments recently! Love hearing all the good news!
My first appointment is next Thursday Dec. 19th. It's with my family practice doctor who also works as an OB so I'm hoping he has the equipment to hear a heartbeat with a doppler or something since I'm anxious to hear everything is alright.

Glad to hear everyone's appointments are going well so far! I had my first one yesterday at 9w3d. Pretty much all of my symptoms disappeared around 8.5 weeks, so of course I was a bit nervous that something had happened. We spent a long time looking for the heartbeat (knowing that it was still really early to be able to hear it on the doppler) with no luck. Turns out my uterus is tipped backwards, so it was much harder to find. The NP snuck me back into ultrasound and sure enough, there it was! He/she even did a little flip while we were watching. Heartbeat looked nice and strong. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief
@NorCalWayfarer: We're telling my parents and sisters when we go home for Christmas. It's been hard to keep the secret from them for so long, but it will be worth it to see their reactions in person! I haven't made a plan yet but I'm really excited!

@runnerd: August 2014 Mama lurking on the July 2014 Mamas board... I had to "de-lurk" to say: that is the cutest Christmas announcement card I have EVER seen.

Gah. I need prayers and good thoughts, mamas! I've had spotting all weekend. Brown, pink, a little bright red -- nothing major, but definitely spotting, so I took the weekend just to rest and relax and stay off my feet. DH was awesome and did all the cooking and took care of our LO.
I've called today to try and get in for an ultrasound. We'll see if they are able to fit me in. This baby was looking just perfect at 9 weeks, 3 days, (11 weeks now) so I was feeling a little bit out-of-the-woods with regards to this pregnancy and now feeling like I need to prepare myself for the worst. We'll see how the rest of today goes.

@coopsmama: sending prayers your way. I've been through that and know how scary it is. Praying it's nothing! Hope your doc can get you in very quickly.

@coopsmama thinking of you and praying that everything will be ok! i had a good amount of spotting for 2 weeks on and off -- a little of all colors -- and turned out to be nothing. my RE reassured us that it was very very normal. hoping for the best for you!!
i'm 9wk4d and wish i had an appointment this week.. it's so weird going from weekly ultrasounds to every 2 weeks. we don't go back until 2 days after christmas and planning on telling my fam on Christmas Eve so would've liked a little update before the reveal, but trying not to stress and to remember watching the little one dancing on the screen last week

@coopsmama: hope that you can manage your worries until appt, harder said than done! Will be thinking bout you!

@mellybelly: @littleredhairedgrl: @runnerd: @NorCalWayfarer: Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts! I needed them -- yesterday was so stressful for me.
I have good news though! Baby looks just perfect -- it was so fun to see little legs kicking and arms moving about. They couldn't identify the reason for the bleeding so I'm on pelvic rest for a week and then just taking it easy. The midwife thinks I'm not getting enough rest (and she's probably right) so this week am just focusing on that before next week and all of the holiday events!

@coopsmama: I'm so glad that baby looks OK! I spotted for a long time with this pregnancy, and so far, everything is fine. Get some rest!

Tomorrow is my first appointment and I was just curious if anyone was able to hear the heartbeat at their first appointment?
nectarine / 2134 posts
@Mrsjansson: My first appt was at 8ish weeks (measured 9) and we didn't hear a heartbeat but saw one through the transvaginal ultrasound (OB didn't even try to get a heartbeat through another method). Hope your appt goes well tomorrow!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@coopsmama: great news!!
@Mrsjansson: I was able to hear the heartbeat at all 3 u/s I've had (6.5, 7.5, and 8.5 wk) with abdominal u/s

@littleredhairedgrl: oh I know it's gonna kill me when my weekly u/s end!!

@runnerd i've literally been trying to think of reasons why i should call this week and talk to the dr lol!
anyone else freaking themselves out about the nuchal? i know i should be calm and not worry -- i'm 29 with no history of anything in my or dh's family, but really nervous..
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
The bleeding on my end has picked up -- but still not accompanied by cramps. I am finding that I need to stay down/reclined to keep the bleeding at bay. Last night was the most blood so far. I've called back to make another appt and am requesting an internal exam. I really want to see if they can figure out what's up.
@littleredhairedgrl: We declined nuchal testing at 12 weeks. I did the same with my son. It just seemed like that's what's right for our situation -- if something did show up, we wouldn't do anything about it anyway. I've heard of so many false positives that I don't want to spend the rest of the pregnancy a ball of nerves.
nectarine / 2134 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: I'm just more nervous that we don't get our next u/s until after new years (and we're planning on telling a bunch of friends at NYE). Wish we had some confirmation things are on track before then! Like you said, NT is a little nerve-wracking but I'm 29 and we have no major health history in either of our families -- I'd just rather know than not.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: I haven't been able to think that far into the future yet, lol. Honestly though, I don't think I will be too worried about that when time comes.
@coopsmama: I've been bleeding off and on since 6 weeks (so about 3.5 weeks). Every time I go things look good and there is no explanation. I know the anxiety though!!! I find mine gets worse when I'm active too (even sweeping can make it worse). Maybe it's irritated cervix??
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@runnerd: Although I hate that you're in a similar situation, I'm glad everything has been okay for you and your LO despite how long it's been going on. That gives me hope! I do wonder if it's an irritated cervix and if it's maybe caused by some sort of infection? I've never had an infection down there but am reading that it's common during pregnancy. I declined an internal exam when I went on Monday but the midwife said that we should, for sure, do one if the bleeding continues so that's what I'm hoping to get scheduled asap before the holidays.

I had my first appointment! They said everything looked great! My next sono is 1-16 and my next appointment is 1-20!

@coopsmama: yea it's hard to feel this way, but bleeding can be harmless!
@Mrsjansson: woo! Glad u had a good appt!
I had a 9.5wk u/s - 170 HB, all looked good still... Spotting continues. Starting to feel better though the closer I get to 12 weeks with good appts!
So are any of us officially to 2nd tri or not quite?
persimmon / 1135 posts
@coopsmama I guess I never thought about declining the scan before.. but maybe I will talk to dh about it and do the same
@runnerd I wish!! a few more weeks to go!
