Is anyone announcing on New Years? We did an elective u/s yesterday at 11 weeks and are feeling confident enough now to do a New Years FB announcement at 11w4d. I'm still a little scared but choosing to believe in good things!
DH is going to take a pic of me standing in the doorway of our messy spare bedroom and holding ultrasound pic with caption "Our New Years resolution: turn the junk room into a nursery"
If any of you have planned your FB announcement please share!!!

@runnerd: Lurking...but I announced on FB at 10 weeks (it was on IG as well). I had an emergency ultrasound in the ER and we saw the HB, followed by hearing it at my midwife appt. I think your announcement will be super cute and I am so happy for you!

@runnerd: super cute!! I say go for it.
I did a flipagram of my LO's in the past year and added the u/s picture at the end. I don't think many people saw it on FB since it was in a link, opps. But I added it a few days ago.

Just got back from my first trimester screen/NT test. Baby is measuring perfectly (NT included) and looks nice and healthy.. YAY!! My EDC was officially calculated to be "consistant with my LMP" even though I usually ovulate a few days late. So I got an official due date of July 15th. @runnerd: do you mind moving me up a day in our list? Thanks!
Announcing to family over Christmas was so awesome. We're an emotional bunch so there were lots of happy tears. It was so perfect. My sister and her husband who are stationed across the country in the military we're able to be there via FaceTime, so that meant a lot. Overall it's been a wonderful week!
@runnerd: I think we're also going to do a facebook announcement on New Years! Now that we've seen/heard her strong little heartbeat, and saw her dancing around on the ultrasound screen we feel confident enough to share. I love your announcement idea, it sounds perfect! So exciting!
@littleredhairedgrl: Glad you had a good visit!
Good luck to everyone else with appointments this week!

I love the junk room picture idea, so cute!
I can finally add pictures!
Here's what we did at Christmas. know that sounds early but once you hear that heartbeat the itch to tell the world becomes unbearable!

@lauraeabel: Welcome!!
@runnerd: LOVE your announcement idea! The more unique the better, and I've not heard of that one. I'm still trying to figure out how to do our FB announcement...
@lauraeabel: Haha, love your announcement too! These are all so great!

An update on me: We had a weird Christmas with my Grandpa transitioning to an nursing home for Alzheimer's patients so there wasn't much time to focus on impending baby excitement but that happens. I did get to share our big news with some good friends at the end of our trip but a stomach flu/food poisoning made our last few days miserable!!! I went from being super bloated and constipated to everything exiting all at once, GROSS! (and TMI, sorry!)
The funny thing is I got a flu shot at my last appt (first one ever) AND I'm avoiding all those foods you should avoid while preggo so you don't get bacteria from them. GRR
Next appt is 1/13 at 12 weeks and hoping for my very first ultrasound that week!
Happy New Year Bees! I'm so excited, we're gonna be moms in 2014!!

@littleredhairedgrl: yay! Movement is so exciting, I experienced that first first time at last appt!
@thismustbetheplace: what are you planning for your announcement? Took the pic for ours today and we are itching to pull the trigger!
@lauraeabel: thank you! And yours is cute! Love the dogs getting involved
@princessandthebee: thanks lady! And fill ya on the stomach stuff... I was feeling pretty icky the past few days

@runnerd: We didn't actually end up doing it!! We can't decide on an idea that is "us" enough. I'm a little bummed, it was the perfect day to do it. Did you end up sharing yours? Would you be willing to share it here? I'd love to see it!

Just got out of our appointment for the nt scan. Baby A looks perfect, nt included! S/he was moving around a lot, and we got to see their ten fingers and toes, and hear the heart heat again. The tech also told us she thinks it is probably a girl, but we promised not to hold her to it since it is super early.

@NorCalWayfarer: We are the same due date
Hi ladies - Hope you don't mind that I'm crashing in late - I've been following this board since I got my BFP back in November, but due to a previous loss and going through IF it's taking me nearly the end of the first trimester to post. Still a little nervous that something can still go wrong but am taking the plunge anyway
I was a semi-poster on the IF boards but took a very long break after our 3rd failed Clomid + IUI attempt.
Happy to say that after nearly two years of trying and with the help of injectibles +IUI we are finally pregnant
EDD: July 9- almost to the 2nd tri!!!!
We had our 12 NT week scan last Thursday and it looks good! Still waiting to hear back on my bloodwork. Was measuring ahead by a couple of days with a strong HB of 171.
My nausea is starting to settle down a bit and I have a little bit of a bump which is exciting! I also believe that all pants should be maternity pants - oh the comfort!
One thing that does concern me is that I have a large cyst in my right ovary (about 5 cm). I actually ended up in the ER when I was 10 wks b/c of severe pain on my right side. U/s revealed the big cyst which they think is the cause of the pain. I haven't had pain like that since then but only pinching and pulling. My doctor will monitor it but I'm afraid that it will twist and cause issue to the baby.
Happy to see other IF graduates on this board!
Does anybody have any gender guesses for their peanut? I have a feeling it's a boy but only due to statistics - IUIs tend to produce more boys than girls and DH's family is predominantly boys. His mom has 5 grandsons already - she's been itching for a girl!

@thismustbetheplace: man, hope you come up with something soon! If I can figure out how to blot my face out of the pic I will post since this isn't a gold thread.
@lauraeabel: ahhhhh that is totally a baby! at my ultrasound today my doc unofficially predicted boy, but I thought all had nub at 12 weeks, so I'm not putting much weight in her prediction.
@NorCalWayfarer: yay!! Love active babies!!
@MK0180: welcome!!!! I know the nervous feeling, I'm just finally starting to relax a little at 12 weeks. And for your gender prediction question, I guess boy cause that's the docs guess, and also, DH and I think boy bc we have 3 perfect girl names, and still majorly up in air for boy names

I just got back from a great check up with the doctor! I had another spotting scare yesterday, so the doc did an ultrasound and I got to see our LO doing flips and touching their face. Ahhh already in love! Starting to feel like having a baby for real. 12 weeks tomorrow! Instead of a profile pic, today's is a straight on alien face shot

@runnerd- I'm really curious to see it, so I hope you figure out the censoring!
@mk0180 - welcome! I definitely had some anxiety for the first few weeks, until I saw the heartbeat. I'm glad your feeling more comfortable though! As for the cyst, I thought that was normal? I had/might still have one on my left ovary, which the doctors said just means it's the one I ovulated from. Hopefully yours doesn't cause any issues!

@runnerd - ahh, yay! This last ultrasound has definitely cemented the "we're having a baby!" Feeling.
kiwi / 545 posts
@runnerd: Thank you! Great picture! You saw it doing flips?! Oh how awesome
@lauraeabel: Thank you! Yes cysts are very normal and they actually help to nourish the baby the first few weeks which my left one does. But I think my right one is bigger than normal b/c at every u/s the tech or doc mentions the size of it. My doctor thinks it might be collapsing so hopefully when I go in for a 14 wk appt we can see how its doing.
nectarine / 2134 posts
@runnerd: Yay, so glad your appt went well! I can't believe you saw him/her doing flips! We saw ours kicking and stretching and DH said it looked like a wiggly Cheeto!
@MK0180: Welcome and so excited for you! And great due date

update: i go for my nt scan tomorrow at 12wks5d and could sleep last night worrying about it.. i think i'm just the kind of person who will worry about anything and everything since it took us so long to even get to this point. but i do believe everything will be alright and my OB has told us that we don't have anything to worry about. just excited to see the little one again
@runnerd so glad to hear your appt went well!
@mk0180 welcome!
@lauraeabel what a GREAT PIC!!!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: I'll be thinking about you!! I'm sure all will be well!!! Oddly enough, my doctor never mentioned scheduling a NT scan, and since I was going to decline anyways, I didn't bring it up.
nectarine / 2134 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: Good luck at your appt! Our doc said the scan itself looked good, but we have to wait for blood results to come back and then go for more blood at the beginning of Feb, so it seems like it's actually a long way off before we'll really know anything. It was just great to see the little dude wiggling around on the ultrasound
My next OB appt is Friday 1/31 and our gender scan is Fri 2/21! So excited!
persimmon / 1135 posts
@norcalwayfarer thanks! and glad to hear your scan looked good. i didn't realize there was blood work along with the scan.. urgh!
anyone else feel like they have a squishy bump in the morning and then by afternoon/evening it's large and firm? just wondering when will be the day when i wake up and the firm bump is there to stay
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: I just feel fat every day lol! so anxious for firm bump

@MK0180: Welcome!
@runnerd: Aww, so happy for you!!
@littleredhairedgrl: Thinking about you!
@NorCalWayfarer: yay, I feel like your gender scan is around the corner, how exciting!
My 12 week appt is next Monday but at that point we'll still have to request an ultrasound, so annoying! I can't wait to switch to a full OB when we move!
Also I bought my first pair of mat pants today, they are the best! I was so tired of shoving my gut into my old jeans, haha. Worth.the.money.
kiwi / 545 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: Yes! And some days it's bigger than others which I attribute to gas and awesome bloat.
I got bloodwork results today - 1 in 4700 for downs and 1 in 10000 for trisomy 18 (and I believe 13). Excited about these numbers! Next blood draw is 1/24.
Hope everyone has a great week
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@MK0180: yay for good results!
Ladies, I'm super excited for the mail to get here today because my first pair of maternity pants should be arriving!!! Sweet comfort!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
I'm going to start a bump thread, there might actually be a few people far enough to post, and I have my first bloat pic at 12 weeks
ETA: and hope it's ok with y'all, gonna make it gold - i don't like to post face pics without that extra line of "defense"
