Oh, I have another question, anyone wanna swap Pinterest links so we can follow each other's baby boards? I'll wall ya my link through gold if anyone is interest!

We are still trying to figure out what I'll do once the baby comes in terms of work. Where I am now, I hate, and going back full time just to spend most of my salary on daycare seems like a terrible option. Hopefully, I will be able to go down to part time or find something else to supplement DH's income while I'm at home. Thinking about it makes me kind of nauseous.

Finally getting back here- a combo of holidays, visitors and worsening nausea/vomiting made the past several weeks rather tough. I haven't even been lurking because I've been too exhausted to read HB! I'm finally feeling a bit better- yay for almost 2nd trimester! (14 weeks on 1/16)
We had our 1st appt plus u/s back in early December - saw one little baby with a nice heartbeat Then I got to see the bebe again at my 2nd appt because they were having a tough time getting the doppler. It was really special because my mom was visiting from across the country and got to see the u/s in person.

@runnerd can you change my due date to 7/17? thanks!

I hope everyone else who had a rough 1st tri is starting to feel better!

Oh- as for the work situation, I'm currently a WOHM four days a week and am really excited to be a SAHM after #2! I wanted that the first time around but financially it didn't work for us as I've been our main breadwinner. Luckily for me, my husband's work is going to change this summer and we're moving - so that all is leading up to me getting to stay home with the little ones for a bit. I think ideally I would work 2 days a week but we'll see what the future brings.

Anyone starting to have major cravings/food aversions?

I've been obsessed with anything containing cabbage or potatoes! Oh, and Fuji apples. So delicious. And I can't stand Thai food, kale or goat cheese- all of which I normally love.
**clearly I'm feeling better as I'm posting up a storm now **

I wish I could stay at home but unfortunately we just don't have the means financially to do so. We are both in education and the pay is blahh. However, we hope that with with my maternity leave and DH's paternity leave that hopefully we won't have to worry about daycare until Jan '15 Here's hoping.....

Had a 14week (actually more like 15 wks) check up today! Heard the heartbeat and all is good I've been eating like crazy and was surprised I gained only a few pounds. I officially announced to my office when I got back... not sure if it was a shocker or what as I think pregnancy tends to be the world's worst secret but I'm glad I came out

Next appt is The Big One at 20ish weeks. Such a looong time from now...

Hope everyone's symptoms from the first trimester are winding down.

Has anyone thought about baby registries? We went to Babies r Us last weekend to look around and man, that place is overwhelming.

@MK0180: I've been compiling some random things in a private Amazon wishlist and doing a lot of research. Probably won't really start the registry until after our 20 week appointment and we find out the gender! I think DH would think I was nutty if he knew I was already starting to look at gear, although he was super excited that we already got a BOB stroller!!

I finally had an ultrasound at my 12 week appt on Monday (well I had to practially beg my family practice doc to request one for me but he did it)! It was so cool to see baby and they were definitely moving around! The technician put my due date at July 25th so only two days off from my calculations which made me happy, but I'm thinking I might stick with mine, we'll see...

To answer the question: My situation is kind of weird, I'm already unemployed. With all of the moving and my husband switching jobs it didn't make sense for me to do all that as well and I'm super pumped to be a SAHM come July. I do keep busy with my blog, and my dog, and all the crap that comes along with moving, but I'm ready for the next challenge of an adorable baby!

@runnerd: I don't have much on my Pinterest baby boards but when I bulk it up I will definitely share it!

@NorCalWayfarer: I think we'll wait until after the 20 week appt to start registering as well! I'm looking at Babies r us or Buy Buy Baby right now.

@princessandthebee: Yay! Love seeing the baby on the u/s -- glad you were able to get one.

Just got our 1st trimester screening results back (took almost 2 weeks because our lab is *ridiculously* slow). Nurse said everything looked good and would have a clearer idea when we do the 2nd trimester screening between 15-20 weeks. She said she would tell me the #s if I wanted and of course I wanted to know.... Downs was 1:3,900 (was 1:700 just based on age) and Trisomy 18 was 1:100,000. I was a little scared by the Downs number initially but after doing a little research I feel better.

@Mk0181 we have a target/private amazon list, mainly because our parents wanted ideas for Christmas presents. The baby made out like a bandit!

@runnerd totally fine =) It doesn't take much to make me nauseous these days. We need to be thinking about this stuff!

Cross posting this from preg after loss board. Spotting and bleeding has been my norm for this pregnancy, but hell it doesn't make it any easier when you see bright red blood:

I ended up having a horrible night. Woke up in night to blood filled panty liner, and lots of red in toilet, so I freaked and headed to ER. The cervix was closed and no irritation. Found baby heartbeat on Doppler. Happened a few more times after I got home. Have a call into my doctor this morning and waiting to see if they will want to see me today. I'm pretty freaked out, but also relieved that there is still heartbeat and I'll be 14w tomorrow - trying to be positive!

so i told my boss yesterday (he kinda knew we were having IF trouble bc i was out so often in the fall for various appts) and he was all excited, etc. but then proceeded to call me "chubby face" when i walked back in his office later that afternoon... umm.. NOT OK. first of all, my face looks the same and i never gain in my face, and second, who says that to a woman?! is it all the sudden ok because i'm pregnant? urgh!

@littleredhairedgrl: @NorCalWayfarer: @BlueberryPie: @MK0180: thanks guys! it's been a really long and stressful day, but I had my u/s and everything seems good. The baby is great, moving/shaking, measures right on track for 14w, strong heartbeat. She couldn't comment on the source of the bleeding, but I didn't get the impression that she saw anything abnormal. I'm still bleeding all day today, but I'm just having to put my thoughts on the healthy baby and that this bleeding obviously isn't a miscarriage, and assume I'm just one of those women that bleeds when pregnant (which I obviously am if the past 2 months is any proof, lol).

@runnerd I'm so sorry you've been dealing with this. I can't even imagine how terrifying that would be. So glad the heartbeat and u/s are looking good though, that must be quite a relief!! That's a great picture btw, it's so clear you can make out their little face. Adorable!

I don't guess I updated this board but doc called and let me know it's a SCH so I'm going be having either weekly or every 2 week ultrasounds to monitor it. Already had appt scheduled for Thurs, FX it still looks ok.

@runnerd: Well -- I'm so glad they were able to figure out what is going on with all that bleeding! So scary but glad at the last US your baby looked good.

I'm just hanging out here in the middle of the month waiting for my next appt to come around! It's on the 31st. I'm 16 weeks and 2 days now. I'm not feeling super pregnant (although I look pregnant!) but I was hoping to be able to feel the baby more by now and with the morning sickness pretty much gone I find myself getting nervous and can't wait for the heartbeat check!!

dh and i just caved and booked an elective for next friday which includes a sex prediction and a bunch of pics!! can't wait!! def needed something to break up the time between now and my next OB appt. before our nuchal we were getting bi-weekly ultrasounds w my OB, and last week she just used the doppler which was great, but would've loved to see the little one again. next fri can't come soon enough!
