Going for my 12 week appt tomorrow! I'm so nervous because I haven't felt "pregnant" for at least 6 weeks now. I have the sonoline b and I can't find a heartbeat yet, either. But my belly is getting really big it seems like! So we'll see, can't wait to hear the heartbeat for real hopefully!

just had my nuchal yesterday and everything looked great! what a relief now just waiting on the blood work but the doctor at the hospital told us with my age there is not much to worry about. AND the little one looked so cute on the ultrasound!! actually looks like a little person now and got to see the toes and fingers.. so amazing!

also was nice to FINALLY have an on-the-belly ultrasound for the first time!!

@kml636: If it makes you feel better I am in exactly the same boat and everything is just fine!! My morning sickness disappeared at around 8.5 weeks, and I don't really feel pregnant at all, just really tired. My uterus is retroverted (facing towards my back instead of towards my stomach) so even though i'm very petite it is nearly impossible to find the fetal heart rate without ultrasound. At my 11 week visit the MD had to work reallllly hard to find it, and she does this all day long. So keep your head up and stay positive!

@littleredhairedgrl: Was your little one dancing all around during the NT test? I was so surprised to see all that movement! It was adorable Glad to hear everything went well!

@thismustbetheplace thanks! a little movement, touching the face, but not nearly as much as my last visit with my OB where she couldn't even get a pic!!

@thismustbetheplace: Thanks, I am trying to stay optimistic but then at the same time part of me doesn't want to get my hopes up! @littleredhairedgrl: Congrats mama! So exciting!

Roll calling at long last! Fashionably late, right?! Hi everyone!!!

    EDD: 7/17/14

When Did You Find Out?: 11/7/13

    Child Number: one!

    Where You Live: Brooklyn, NY

What kind of provider will you see?: OBGYN

When's Your First Appointment?: Way back on 11/26

What kind of birth do you want?: Hospital, possibly natural but definitely open to epidural

What You're Most Excited For: Kicks! And a more bump-like bump (versus like I ate a huge meal). Oh-and those first baby snuggles!

What You're Most Scared About: Miscarriage, though I'm worrying less and less now at almost 13 weeks and we've seen the hb 3 times. I think beyond he baby being born healthy, I'm worried about sleep deprivation and how my relationship with DH will change post baby.

Symptoms so far: Haven't been so bad (knocks wood)--really emotional (something new to cry about daily it seems!), nausea weeks 6-8 but no vomiting, tiredness (I am sleeping terribly). Sadly I can't eat Thai food anymore-have tried twice only to be stuck with awful stomach cramps and other unpleasantries that I don't need to get into!

Share a picture of your bfp, announcement, &/or chart: I'm so new to hellobee that I can't post pictures yet-when I can I'll post the little bean from my 12 week NT scan!

I need to get our list updated, think I've missed the last few late arrivals

@thismustbetheplace: @kml636: I had good u/s at 12 weeks, but in the past week suddenly I feel tons better. I can't seem to accept that it's the 2nd tri relief, and not issue with pregnancy!

@littleredhairedgrl: I'm so glad it went well. I bet you are really feeling like things are on track now

sorry to keep posting but anyone else still feeling slight nausea at almost the end of the first tri? maybe it's the cold i just caught and all the mucous, but thought at this point it would've gone away.

  13. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@littleredhairedgrl: about the past 3 days, I all of the sudden am not tired, and barely feel nauseous (started about 12.5wk), but now I keep slightly freaking out that it's a loss of symptoms and not 2nd tri related

  14. littleredhairedgrl

    persimmon / 1135 posts

@runnerd it's prob just being out of the 2nd tri. i wouldn't worry at all! are you considering 2nd tri 13 or 14 weeks? everywhere i look it's different

@littleredhairedgrl: My nausea went away at about 10 weeks but came back pretty heavily for a few days last week (during my 11th week) when I had a cold. It went away as soon as the cold let up though. Feel better!!

    persimmon / 1135 posts

@blueberrypie thanks! yeah i think it must be the cold bc i'm 13 weeks today and haven't had any nausea since around 10/10.5 weeks

    @squeaks: Welcome and congrats!

@littleredhairedgrl: At 14 weeks, I still have some slight nausea - it usually happens when I brush my teeth and I start gagging or if I move around after laying down for a long time. I also have a runny nose that's been pretty constant since day one but it seems to have increased in the past week or so. I read this has to do with the increase of blood the body is producing. More blood = more snot! Hope you feel better!

My boobs shoot this electric shock once in a while - what's up with that?

@runnerd: I know it's hard not to worry but symptoms do start to wane towards the end of the first tri/beginning of the 2nd so I think it's just that time. But I still worry, too! I have been having cramping and pulling of the ligaments (I think - pinching and pulling on both sides?) this past couple of weeks. The pinching lasts no more than a minute (if that) and cramps are once in a while but feel like menstrual cramps. So this is sort of freaking me out but I've read that it can also mean the uterus is stretching itself out.

Finally starting to not feel as nauseous all of the time!! I have my NT scan 1-16 and my next appointment (14 weeks) is 1-20! I am REALLY ready for the 2nd trimester and to hopefully get my energy back and to start feeling the little movements! Did anyone's sono tech try to guess the gender of the baby at their NT scan?

Hi everyone!! I know I'm late to this party, but I have a good excuse--just had my first ultrasound and my due date was moved from Aug. 1 to July 27th! I had a feeling this kid wanted to be born in July...

    EDD: 7/27/2014

When Did You Find Out?: Early November

    Child Number: 1

Where You Live: Central Coast, CA

What kind of provider will you see?: Family Dr.

When's Your First Appointment?: 12/24/13. First US 1/8/14

What kind of birth do you want?: Not sure yet, just hoping for a healthy baby!

What You're Most Excited For: Experiencing being a first time parent with my husband, meeting the little guy/girl

What You're Most Scared About: Well, I found out I have a moderate subchorionic hematoma after my ultrasound. I'm feeling nervous that it won't resolve itself, but I've decided to stay positive.

Symptoms so far: constant nausea, and exhausted for the most part. Also, I *may* have a shorter fuse these days.

@runnerd: I'm here! Lurking for the most part as I don't think I have much to contribute. Although I guess one thing that is exciting is I've started feeling baby now and again -- it took me by surprise as I didn't feel DS until 19 weeks but my midwife told me it's quite normal for a second time mom to feel baby early. LO looked good on the ultrasound last Friday and the bleeding seems to have stopped! 14.5 weeks and can't wait to find out the gender.

We also booked a babymoon for next month in Puerto Vallarta. I'll be 20 weeks along so should be a perfect time! I can't wait!

Hi guys! Love reading your updates it's crazy how fast time is flying. I'm in the 2nd tri now and the heart beat is strong at 166! I'll post in the bump thread since I have a very serious bump now!

  28. BlueberryPie

    cherry / 105 posts

I've mainly been lurking for the past while, but definitely keeping up with everyone's updates. I think I've been afraid to post for fear of getting too excited and jinxing myself AND out of pure exhaustion. I'm feeling much more confident in this pregnancy now and finally regaining my energy.

As far as my own updates go, we had an appointment last Monday to hear the heartbeat and everything went well. We will have another similar appointment on 1/27 -- so now we're just in that kinda boring waiting period before our ultrasound at 20 weeks!

I love hearing how everyone is doing and hope the second trimester relief is kicking in for you all!

I'm really hopingy symptoms calm down soon- reading everyone's posts is giving me hope. I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and the nausea, hormones, and weird appetite are all in full force. My doctor got irritated with me last appointment because I've lost about ten pounds, which was odd because I'm considered overweight so I wouldn't think it would really matter. I'm not dieting or anything crazy, just can't keep much down.

This morning I finally noticed a small bloat/bump forming, so that is really exciting!

@littleredhairedgrl: yay due date twin! Where in Bk did you live? We talk about the burbs and some friends are starting to migrate...maybe someday!

@Michmarm: Welcome to July mama! The best month for a birthday, say all my July born friends. I definitely hear you on having a shorter fuse-usually it's over nothing end ends in a ridiculous fit of laughter/tears!

Question: what are you all considering 2nd trimester-13 weeks or 14? I think I'm going to tell my boss tomorrow (NT scan results cme back totally normal) but mentally would feel better if I was "officially" 2nd trimester...I am exactly 13w today.

@Mrsjansson: my doc made a boy prediction at 12 wk u/s so now I'm super curious

@coopsmama: aw yay for baby movement, I can't wait for that cause it'll be comforting! and sure you have stuff to contribute

    @Michmarm: welcome!!

@BlueberryPie: I totally get that - I definitely have been trying to temper my excitement but after my 11 wk u/s 2 weeks ago I finally started allowing myself to have more happiness

@lauraeabel: yay baby bump! And that's annoying your doctor wouldn't just assume you aren't feeling well as weight loss cause!

  32. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@squeaks: I'm going with 13 weeks, but that's mostly b/c I'll be 13w on Sat and sooner the better for 2nd tri!! I've always read that developmentally the baby is 2nd tri at 12w, whatever that means exactly

@MK0180: I get that pinching feeling/pulling of the ligaments once in a while too! They feel pretty sharp but just for a second. So cool to think all the stuff our bodies do to change during pregnancy.

@littleredhairedgrl: @runnerd: I feel like a freak because I didn't really get any m/s or nausea. While it may seem like a blessing, it's hard when everyone treats it as the all important symptom that means you're really pregnant. Interestingly enough, most of the women in my life friends and family, didn't really have any morning sickness. So that made me feel better but yes, lack of symptoms is kind of scary. I have my 12 week on Monday, can't wait!

  35. Mrs. Amethyst

Hi all! I've been MIA with the holidays and all. Happy 2014 to everyone-- this is our year, yay!

I went to an appointment this week for a routine physical and to hear the heartbeat. It was exciting to hear it, since I don't really feel pregnant at all. My symptoms have mostly subsided (knock on wood), and I've been feeling pretty good for the past few weeks.

I'm 13 weeks today, so yay for 2nd tri! Not really showing yet though... I just look bloated especially after I eat. I have my NT scan next Tuesday, so hoping all goes well.

I think I'm having round ligament pain the past fee days but I can't help but worry! I have been getting a constant dull, but sometimes painful ache on left side in addition to any pains from sudden movements. Anyone else had a lasting ache like that?

  37. Mrs. Cookie

    blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts

@runnerd: Oh no! Not fun. I don't have anything yet but I'm thinking I will experience some nerve pain later on as I've had a herniated disc in the past. Do you have a doc appt coming up?

  38. littleredhairedgrl

    persimmon / 1135 posts

@squeaks: we lived in Carroll Gardens. LOVED IT, just got too pricey for us

@runnerd: i have been having the exact same thing all weekend! was sick and blowing my nose a lot so thought it was that, but definitely by where it was and how it felt it is round ligament pain. i took that as a good sign tho that things are moving forward like they are supposed to

  39. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@littleredhairedgrl: glad I'm not the only one! Always makes me feel better when someone else is having a similar symptom!

So based on @littleredhairedgrl: separate question posted about pumping and SAHM, thought I'd add a little poll of the week?

Will you be a SAHM, WAHM, or WOHM? Is this a change to your current situation?

I currently WAH, but not self-employed, but I am very glad not to have to juggle a commute and daycare drop off. We will probably do a mixture of something like 3 days at daycare, 1 day with grandma, and 1 day at home (DH works from home too).

  40. NorCalWayfarer

    nectarine / 2134 posts

@runnerd: I will continue to WOHM. I currently have a 1.25 hour commute each way 4 days a week (one day a week in office close to home) but should be able to work closer to home more often soon (3 miles v. 70 miles). I wasn't quite sure how I was going to do a daily commute with a LO, especially since DH travels for work frequently (although he's thinking about going in-house which would help immensely). I'm looking forward to the change!
