@swedishfish: Team Green here! Now we just have to make a final nursery decision so we can start painting!

@swedishfish: our anatomy scan is on the seventh and we plan on finding out the gender!!

team green! really hoping we don't "accidentally" find out at our anatomy scan. my SIL said that the ultrasound wand was pointed right at her baby's bottom, so she knew right away.

@swedishfish: I didn't realize you did IVF - me too! I do know what you mean about becoming used to the u/s at the REs office. I was surprised, too, about how few there are during pregnancy once I started with the OB. I'm looking forward to seeing the little one again at my 20 week scan - sometime the first week of Feb. We are going to find out the gender. I can't wait to know!

@softcream: My coworker is only two weeks ahead of me and she is Team Green. I joked with her that she shouldn't look too closely at the 20 week u/s pics because it could be pretty obvious!

@softcream: Ah! I think I'll ask the tech to turn the screen away until she has a shot of the baby without the goods.

@GreenThumb: Going through IVF definitely made me take ultrasounds for granted. I didn't even read the paperwork from the OB's office - I just assumed I'd be getting an ultrasound at each appointment. I'm a jerk. Haha. Anyway, go us! We kicked some IVF butt!

We are not team green here, will be finding out on January 11. I can't wait, kudos to you ladies that are waiting until June for the big reveal.

Not sure if we've discussed this recently or not, but where is everyone with feeling movement? I've been getting so impatient and maybe feeling things here and there, and then just last night and today I'm feeling what I think really is baby, because it is in the right spot and more persistent than just digestion would feel, i think. Maybe it's still just wishful thinking though, ha...

@Revel: I thought I felt something the past two nights, like gas bubbles only I knew it wasn't gas. But I'm only 16 weeks today so I could be wrong. Probably was gas!

  9. LazyLightning

    pear / 1664 posts

@Revel: No movement for me yet at 18 weeks. I thought i felt something around 15.5 weeks but nothing since (except RLP...argh). I'm a little worried but know I should chill out.

Our gender U/S is January 16! We are team *finding out*.

@LazyLightning: Don't worry!! I have an anterior placenta and did a poll and most people didn't feel any movement until 20-21 weeks. You'll find out at your scan if you have one. I'm 19w2d and haven't felt a thing yet boo!

Argh! I gained 6 pounds in 4 weeks! I guess it evens out because I had only gained 1 pound at my last appointment?

I have to have a fetal echocardiogram performed because my husband has a functional heart murmur. No big deal but I have to go to the local hospital's practice to have it done. I called to make the appointment today since it has to be done between 18-22 weeks. I made the appointment for 18 weeks 1 day and the receptionist started telling me I had to push the appointment back because her "wheel" said I wouldn't be 18 weeks yet on the day of the appointment. I told her I went through IVF so I know exactly when I change weeks and she got snippy with me.

@LazyLightning: Team "finding out"! I like it.

@Revel: I have just been feeling small movements, but I think it must be the baby because I feel it every day in the same spot and it doesn't feel like anything I've felt before.

@swedishfish: Seriously - it's your body! How frustrating.

Interested to hear the movement stories. At very least we are all getting close!

@JoJoGirl: That was your thread! I remember reading it and being comforted that many don't feel movement for a while. I don't know if I have an anterior placenta or not though.

Happy New Year's ladies! How did everyone celebrate?

We had a dinner party at a friend's house and then all went to a local bar to ring in the New Year. I was undecided about going out up until the last minute, but I know we probably won't be going out on New Year's again for a looooong time and this was a pretty low key place so I am glad we decided to celebrate and dance with friends.

@tlcbaby: I went out and made it until midnight! Like you, I think the 2 hour nap I had in the afternoon was critical.

Does anyone have their anatomy scan this week and is finding out gender? Mine is at the end of next week and I am getting impatient!

    pear / 1664 posts

@Revel: Mine's the 16th! getting anxious. Also still feeling worried as I've felt no kicks, etc. But I know that can be normal so I'm trying to put it out of my mind!

@knittylady: @dewdrop: @LazyLightning: All coming up soon, how exciting!

LazyLightning, I may have said this already, but I believe I've felt some movement, but nothing I would classify as a kick. Similarly I keep wondering when it's coming and trying not to worry about that.

Has anyone mentioned/announced their pregnancy on facebook? Every so often I feel naturally inclined to update a status with something about how big the baby is, or wanting sushi really bad etc., but then I get all scared and decide not to...

  25. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@knittylady: We announced on Facebook after a friend's wedding. We waited so we wouldn't take away from her day. I know it's silly but it was so nice seeing how excited everyone was!

OK, I called the nurses line at my doctors' office today. I actually apologized leaving a message because I feel like I've called them so often. I found a lump in my breast this morning and it's painful at times. They want me to come in tomorrow. I know it's probably just an infection or something but I was surprised they want me in. Of course I could only get an appointment in the middle of the day so I have to take the entire day off of work. I'm supposed to be saving my sick days!

  26. LazyLightning

    pear / 1664 posts

@knittylady: I haven't yet. I probably will after we find out the gender. I think the majority of my FB friends already know through our christmas card or me telling them, so it's really just acquaintances who don't.

@swedishfish: uh oh, hopefully it's nothing!

  27. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@knittylady: We did, sometime in November I think. I do not have a personal Facebook page, but my husband does and he posted the ultrasound picture. I didn't necessarily want to have to announce it, but if you don't usually someone does it for you, or, like you said, you want to make some kind of baby comment and can't.

@swedishfish: Hopefully it is nothing, our bodies do all kinds of weird things during pregnancy. Let us know how it goes.

  28. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@tlcbaby: Agree, I'm not announcing on FB at all. I just feel sort of meh about doing that.

  29. LazyLightning

    pear / 1664 posts

@JoJoGirl: @tlcbaby: Yeah I'm not going to put up a bump picture or U/S or anything, I don't think. Just a status update. "FYI". Otherwise people seem to get offended that you didn't tell them... plus i think my MIL is bursting at the seams wanting to say stuff about it herself. hah.

  30. knittylady

    pomegranate / 3212 posts

Yeah I'm so weird about telling people. I'm 18 weeks but still haven't shaken the first trimester, "I can't tell anyone" thing. Maybe it's because of our m/c in June? Who knows. I have college friends who I'm not in touch with all the time staying with me this weekend and I haven't told them 'cause we just don't stay in contact too much. But now they're arriving tonight and I have a big old bump! Surprise!

  31. tlcbaby

@knittylady: Haha that will be a big surprise when they walk in!

@LazyLightning: @tlcbaby: Everything is OK for now. I was sent for an ultrasound after my doctor's appointment today. The doctor there said it was thickening of the skin but didn't know the cause, just that it could be pregnancy-related and to keep an eye on it. I am relieved for now!

  33. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@swedishfish: Definitely sounds like good news. At least you are having regular doctor's appointments with the pregnancy, which will be a good reminder to keep an eye on it.

@knittylady: We haven't done a FB announcement yet and I don't think we are going to in a big way. I don't post too much on there and while it would be kind of fun for me to tell those who don't already know, I'm just not really sure how to do it. I thought maybe I would just do something quick after our anatomy scan... DH isn't interested in making an announcement either, so I can't leave it to him ;).

Hey June mamas! I am so late to the party, but really just discovered Hellobee not too long ago. I am 18w 2d - due June 5. We have an anatomy ultrasound on Jan 16, but we're "team green" and won't be finding out!

@knittylady: We did share on FB, but I am trying to be low key about it! We let everyone important know in person first, but also posted on FB to avoid the "omg, i had no idea" comments, if people started talking about it.

@swedishfish: I had a totally harmless benign growth in my breast a year ago, and knowing that I was going to ttc soon my doc said to remove it because during pregnancy and all the hormones that go with it, it would grow for sure. Totally benign, but for my comfort etc. So yeah, that's just to say that our boobs do crazy things when we're making babies. I'm so glad to hear the u/s went well.

Does anyone have any brand recommendations for maternity tops? Wearing loose tops isn't working anymore!
