Kicking off June 2013 board

    @dewdrop: I have got two fitted, stretchy short sleeve tops from Pea in the Pod that I love. They are kind of expensive, but so comfy and feel like they'll maintain their shape. Last time I looked online there were some basic tanks on sale.

    I also got a few maternity tops from Target that I really love.

    @knittylady: Yes, our bodies do more crazy stuff than I realized when pregnant! I'm hoping for one week where nothing new pops up.

    @dewdrop: Thank you!

    I just bought some maternity tops from Old Navy. I haven't tried them on yet. The only bad thing is I have to return them by mail if they don't fit. The Old Navy stores near me don't have maternity sections. My mom and MIL bought me a few shirts from Kohl's too.

    @bisous: @swedishfish: Thanks for the recommendations!

    If anyone else is clothes shopping today, Old Navy has a 25% off code (ONHAPPY25).

    @bisous: Yea! Welcome! Team Green here, as well. Our anatomy scan is tomorrow morning at 8:00 and I am so ready. I really want to see this little baby again.

    @dewdrop: I have a few from Old Navy, Target and Kohl's. I have found some I like at all three places and some I absolutely hated. My biggest advice is to try everything on first! Only one ON around here has a maternity section so I tried on similar tops before ordering anything to try and get the correct size. If I couldn't have done that, I would probably have ordered multiple sizes and returned one.

    Anatomy scan this afternoon and we're officially Team Blue! I had a feeling from the very beginning but it has still been very surreal walking around the house thinking, "We're having a boy!"

    Thinking of all of you who have your scans this week! Can't wait to see the spread for June!

    @knittylady: oh wow, congrats! Does it make it seem more real now that you know the gender?

    @swedishfish: @tlcbaby: thanks!

    I think it will start to feel more real now... for now it's just very cool and surreal to be able to look at PBK and babygap and gender specific things. And say "he" instead of "it".

    Also I had been totally silent on FB, but just posted: boy oh boy! People who knew in real life made enough comments that now some people who didn't know are commenting. It's scary to think it's so out there but fun and nice at the same time...

    @knittylady: They would find out eventually - at least this way it is on your terms.

    Less than an hour until my scan! I went swimming this morning so hopefully I didn't tire the baby out and it'll be kicking around.

    @knittylady: Congrats! I am definitely having some angst about the gender scan coming up - I feel like it will make things a lot more real - and that is exciting and scary!

    Otherwise I'm feeling good but HUGE. We moved this weekend and I've been eating nothing but takeout for what feels like forever and I don't think it's helping. I'm trying not to have a bad attitude about it but I'm scared of ballooning too early!

    @tlcbaby: Can't wait to hear how it goes! You're team green right? Even without the gender news (which you'll get in such an amazing way in June!) seeing the baby and it's hands and feet etc., is realllllly amazing. Enjoy!

    @tlcbaby: Thanks for the advice! I foresee a lot of ordering and returning in my future...

    The anatomy scan went great today! She didn't ask me if we wanted to know the gender so I made sure to speak up early on. We got to see the spine and all the organs and little feet and hands. It was awesome. The face looked a bit like Skeletor because not much baby fat has accumulated yet.

    It was great to have a little reassurance that the baby is growing up nice and healthy in there!

    @knittylady congrats on a boy!

    My husband finally got to feel the baby kick last night - its been the highlight of the pregnancy so far - I've been feeling flutters and kicks since Christmas day.

    @tlcbaby: Yay! glad it went well. It's amazing isn't it??

    @itsmejules: I've been feeling flutters but nothing strong enough to feel on the outside. I can't wait for that!

    nectarine / 2750 posts

    @LazyLightning: Thanks!

    @itsmejules: He could feel it, too? I have been feeling a lot, but I didn't think my husband would be able to feel it yet - maybe I should make him try.

    @knittylady: Thanks - it was unbelievable! I know it is silly after almost 5 months, but it is still hard for me to believe there is a person in there sometimes.

    Did everyone here get a flu shot? My mother-in-law keeps bugging me to get one. Maybe I'll head to CVS tomorrow.

    ETA - I work with 4th and 5th graders. I already caught a cold in December from school.

    @swedishfish: I got the flu shot at my first prenatal appointment! I've had two colds this winter, but so far no flu. KNOCK ON WOOD!

    @swedishfish: DH and I both got the flu shot for the first time ever this year at the recommendation of my OB.

    We had the early anatomy scan today (17 wks 1 day), and it's a girl! Hubby is shocked; he was so sure it would be a boy... Everything looks good; measurements and all that are on track. It was pretty cool to see all the body parts in such detail. Can't wait for next month's full anatomy scan!

    And in the meantime, I've already placed my first order from Hanna Andersson.

    @tinypiglet - congratulations on your girl! How fun!

    @TLCBaby, I think you should try to get your husband to feel. Baby is usually active when we go to bed, so I feel my stomach first and if I feel a kick or two, i guide my husband's hand to where the baby is kicking and hold my breath for a bit (he complains my breathing interferes!)

    @tinypiglet: congrats on your baby girl! how exciting!

    @swedishfish: I got mine at my first prenatal appointment. And I made DH finally go get one from CVS over the weekend. We had to find one that still had flu shots left though! Better hurry if you want one!

    I am going to have to have DH try to feel the kicks tonight. I have been feeling flutters for about a week, but the kicks just started on Monday. I also assumed he wouldn't be able to feel it yet on the outside. . .

    Reading all these posts, I am getting pretty excited for my anatomy scan next week even though we're not finding out! Darn that lady who scheduled my ultrasound and insisted I could not come any earlier than 20 weeks.

    @swedishfish: I chose not to, but my midwife strongly recommended it if I had the potential to be around sick people a lot. She basically said if I don't get it to wash my hands like a crazy person and avoid sick people. So working in an elementary school, that might be a little difficult.

    @itsmejules: Okay I am going to try it tonight and see if he can feel, too!

    @tinypiglet: Ahhh! Awesome! Congrats on your baby girl!!

    @tinypiglet: Congratulations! So exciting that the June mamas are starting to find out the gender.

    My OB's office doesn't give flu shots so I guess it's off to CVS today. Hopefully they have some left!

    Posted to the bump thread too. Here's 19weeks 4 days with 25 lbs of gain.

    People have said I look 'all belly' but the truth is, I've also gained all over - pants size pre-preg was an 8 and the maternity pants you see here are Motherhood XL's (skin tight heh)--which is apparently for size 14-16.

    Ah well. I'll be 30 day shredding come summer time!

    @lazylightning LOVE the BUMP!

    Had my monthly doctors appointment this morning - baby is doing great. 148 bpm. Learned that I'll have to have the Rhogam shot because my blood type differs from my husband.

    Have my 20 week ultrasounds in a week and a half. Woooo!

    @itsmejules: Thanks! Totally fun. So weird to actually know now! Makes it more real somehow, which is odd.
    @knittylady: Funny enough, I had no feelings at all one way or the other until the morning of the scan. I was in the shower and I thought "....hm. I think maybe it's a girl." Completely weird, but then I also had a similar quiet realization before I peed on a stick...so who knows!
    @bisous: Yes, it's very exciting!
    @tlcbaby: Thanks!
    @swedishfish: Thanks! Finding out the baby's sex in advance is pretty cool in my book. And I haven't gotten a flu shot either...I have an OB appt tomorrow and I think she may tell me I need to. I haven't ever had one because I was allergic to something in them a few years ago. Maybe now they are different?
    @LazyLightning: Lookin' good, mama! I need to get brave and post some belly photos myself - I have definitely started showing more this week!

    @LazyLightning: Your bump is adorable! I feel like you, though...I can't wait to get back to my pre-pregnancy intensity with my workouts.

    This is my favorite pre-natal yoga that I have found so far.

    @itsmejules: Yea for a good appt. and you get to see your baby very soon

    Welp, we had our anatomy scan today and we are having a girl! I am super excited, as is FI, though he was hoping for a boy. I think most guys are for their first. Otherwise the scan was really cool, it's amazing how much they can see, and everything looks good.

    @tlcbaby: Congrats on a good scan! We got some skeletor shots too... FI enjoyed those I think, haha.

    @swedishfish: I got a flu shot at 8 weeks, my first one ever. I wasn't too sure about it but they really push it at my midwives and it seemed like it couldn't hurt. I didn't have any ill effects.

    @tinypiglet: Congrats on your girl! I'm super excited about ours.

    @bisous: The scan is very cool, regardless of the gender reveal. There is so much detail.

    @LazyLightning: Your bump looks great, a perfect shape! I'm only now starting to look pregnant to people who don't know me. Good luck with your scan coming up too!

    Phew, I think that's everyone... busy board these days!

    Has anyone registered or started getting the nursery together? We talk about both quite often, but haven't taken action yet.

    @Revel: Congrats on a girl!

    @tlcbaby: I've been wondering about this too!

  39. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

    @tlcbaby: We registered early at Babies R Us because I like to research things. I'm still changing stuff but I think I'm mostly done. We ordered nursery furniture and the room is painted...we just need to put the trim up.

    We ordered the Adele Caffe crib and two dressers from Babies R Us: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12937978&prodFindSrc=rv As soon as the trim is up we will pay off the balance and have the furniture in a week or so.

    Also ordered a glider and ottoman from Buy Buy Baby. It will take 10-12 weeks to come in. $260 for a Little Castle Chelsea glider and ottoman set - not bad! I wish Buy Buy Baby was closer to my house because I like it better than Babies R Us.

    @swedishfish: I think I am going to sit down this weekend and get started. We have a rocker and that is it! We did finally settle on a theme this morning, so that was a big step.

    I love that crib - I want to do something similar where we can use it basically forever!
