    Me: Due June 25th. I'm 18 weeks 1day
    Located: ID
First Child: yes, and its a BOY!!!!!!

Latest Dr. Appt: We had our anatomy scan yesterday and were so excited to find out what we are having and that he's healthy. He had the hiccups during the ultrasound which was very cool to see. The doctor had never seen hiccups this early and said its a great sign because he's already using his diaphragm. All went well!!!!!
Kicks? I've felt pressure and some tickles.
How I'm feeling: I'm getting my energy back!!! i can at least exercise now so I've been feeling much better. Headaches have basically dissapeared but I've been having bad hip pain while sleeping. Went and bought a mattress topper and I actually slept through the night last night. Yay!!!

@tlcbaby: Congratulations on your new niece! How exciting for your baby to have a same age cousin.

    @jh524: Congratulations on your boy!

Just had my 20 week appt. today. Can you believe we're all around the halfway point already? I guess I need to stop procrastinating about signing up for a childbirth class...

    Located: Chicago area
    Second Child
    Team Green
Latest Dr. Appt was Jan 22: Ultrasound - baby was sleeping, but still fun to watch on the screen.
Kicks? Yes, can feel that pretty much every day. Mostly around 11pm
How I'm feeling: Decent. I was getting severe severe heartburn for the last two weeks, but I figured out it was partially due to my prenatals. I switched and I feel much better!

@LazyLightning: Thanks for putting that together - it is nice to see a little update.

I am starting to get the "When are you due...you look so big" from some people and from others they say how tiny I am. So which is it??!?!?

@tlcbaby: For me, I swear it depends on what I am wearing. At 17 weeks, people finally started noticing - but only two weeks later, while shopping, I got "oh my goodness, you must be due soon!" She was shocked when I told her I'm due in June. Needless to say, I did not take it very well.

@tlcbaby: Oh i get shocked looks when I tell people June. "You look like you're ready to pop next month!" Thanks guys. Thanks.

People also can't believe I gained 30 lbs already though - so I guess I'll take that compliment??

Anyone have their name(s) picked out yet? We have a very very rough list but no favorites.

@LazyLightning: we have a boy's name and two girls' names right now. They might change by June though

so fun to see so many of us on team green. some people are still surprised or amused when we say we're going to wait to find out.

we have 2 boy names and 2 girl names as options, but it's practically just one each because we have the same favorite names. now i kinda want to have another baby right away so we don't "waste" a good name, haha

  14. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@LazyLightning: We have a short list of about two or three boy and girl names, but we want to wait until we see him or her before we make the final decision!

  15. bisous

    persimmon / 1304 posts

@softcream: I agree, having so many team green makes me feel not so alone in our decision to not find out,

@LazyLightning: We have 7 boys names and 7 girls names!!! I know that is a lot, but we figure we will just know when he or she comes. We also have some ranked higher than others, but I am so indecisive that could change.

  16. dewdrop

    pea / 24 posts

@LazyLightning: We've started making a list, but, like yours, it's a very, very rough list. I think we'll be going back and forth about names until June!

We have a thumb sucker! Baby has been sucking his/her thumb for the past two sonograms. Tonight it was the left thumb. I hope baby is a lefty like I am!

    @swedishfish: Aww so cute

We did our registry yesterday! We went with Amazon and Target so there would be an online option and an in store option. It was actually a lot of fun - just another reminder that there will be a little person here soon. We also bought our crib at the big baby sale at Target. We got this crib and the changing table was free during the sale.

@tlcbaby: pretty crib! I cannot wait till people (hopefully) start buying stuff off of the registry. Only our stroller has been purchased. My MIL bought our stroller but I only know that because she was so not slick about getting our Babies R Us rewards number.

    @tlcbaby: yay! how exciting!

Have other people started a registry? I don't what I'm waiting for exactly, but haven't started yet... was thinking of starting one tonight!

  21. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@knittylady: The big thing we were waiting for was just having time to go to the store. It was really important to my husband to see most of the stuff in person so we were at Target for at least a couple of hours last weekend!

  22. bisous

    persimmon / 1304 posts

@swedishfish: Aww, that's adorable. We got a thumbs up - I was pretty excited about that. I never thought about whether the baby would be left- or right-handed--but now I hope ours is a lefty, like me, too!

@knittylady: We started our registries online - one at Target and one on Amazon. I am going with my friend who has a 18 month old in a few days to get her thoughts on my in-store Target registry. I figure she can tell me whether I am getting too much or too little of anything.

  23. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@bisous: I did the same thing. I sent mine to my sister and had her look them over to make sure we had everything covered.

Have you all seen the info. about breast pumps and lactation classes being covered by insurance? I called to check on my benefits yesterday and I will have to get my pump from a medical supplier that is in their network, but it'll be covered at 100% and you can file a claim to cover the costs of any breastfeeding classes you take, as well.

  24. bisous

    persimmon / 1304 posts

@tlcbaby: I have been doing a lot of research on the breast pump coverage. I was told my insurer (Cigna) will cover it through their medical supplier, but it sounds like they are only providing manual pumps at this point.

I've lucked out because my work has a lactation program, with over the phone lactation consultants and Medela breast pumps/supplies at deep discounts. I did not know insurers would cover lactation classes though - since my work program doesn't offer that, I'll have to look into it!

@bisous: where do you work that you have such great benefits? That is awesome!

@tlcbaby: I work for a pretty big financial services company--I feel really lucky to work at a place where they treat employees so well! As I do my research, I am finding out they are a very mom/kid friendly workplace.

When will you ladies be taking birth classes? Or will you? I just thought of it now and was wondering when was too soon or too late!

  28. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@knittylady: Funny you ask I just signed us up yesterday! We are taking a class called Empowered Birth and it seems like they just try to teach you how to get through labor/birth no matter what route you choose to go. It starts in March and lasts 7 weeks.

  29. bisous

    persimmon / 1304 posts

@knittylady: We just signed up for a class last week that consists of 4 3-hour sessions in March. I wonder if that might be too early...but I could not find something that took place in April, and we're so busy then anyhow.

  30. LazyLightning

    pear / 1664 posts

@knittylady: I signed up last week. I'm taking an infant care class later this month and breastfeeding in March. i"m not taking the birth class. It's really, really, really long (think: all day both days of a weekend). No thanks.

    I'm new here

Me: Due June 2; 23 weeks, 4 days.
    Located: Tennessee
    First Child
    It's a Boy!
Latest Dr. Appt was February 4th. All is well! My doctor does seem a little skeptical of natural birth although I'm low risk.
Kicks? Ohhhh yes. This week I can see them from the outside!
How I'm feeling: Pretty good! I've been working out throughout my pregnancy and started having some pretty killer hip pain on one side this week that I think is due to Zumba. Switching to swimming/walking til it subsides. Other than that, peachy!

  32. knittylady

    pomegranate / 3212 posts

@tlcbaby: @bisous: @LazyLightning: Thanks! Good to know... We're moving to a different state in mid-March so I was thinking of signing up for stuff that's scheduled for April, but didn't know if that was too late??

@grizz: Welcome! Good for you on working out! That's something I'm trying (and failing) at doing more often.... I'm so sleepy all the time!

  33. Revel

    pear / 1563 posts

Wow, I've been gone from this board for a while! Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

@grizz: Welcome! I am due one day before you on June 1!

@knittylady: I'm taking a 3 week class that starts at the end of February - basically a natural childbirth class without being grounded in one of the more well known methods (Bradley, hypnobirthing). I also plan on getting a book to read. I have Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, but I want something more focuses on a method, maybe the Bradley book?

I know most of us are going through our first pregnancy, but does anyone have any books they would recommend for prepping for natural birth?

  34. Boheme

    papaya / 10473 posts

@knittylady I don't start my 8 week session of childbirth classes until April 8th - eek! But the instructor thinks it will be fine. I will finish the week before my due date.

@revel I am also taking a natural childbirth class that isn't based on any one practice! But I've had Ina May's book, the Bradley books, and HypnoBabies recommended to me. I have them on hold at the library, so I can't wait to start reading them! I am really excited to read the Bradley book with my husband since I won't be having a doula.

    pear / 1563 posts

@grizz: The class sounds similar! I also want the books because we are almost definitely not hiring a doula, so I'd like to have some materials to prepare with. Getting FI to read them with me... that's another story....

    @grizz: Welcome!

I am trying to decide whether or not to take a childbirth class. My DH and I work such different schedules and I definitely don't want to go alone. I will sign up for a breast feeding class though.

@grizz: Welcome! Last night I watched my belly move around for about 30 minutes, I was just in awe!
@Revel: I read "Homebirth at the Hospital". While they weren't all stories of unmedicated births, the book was about feeling empowered with whatever choice you make and I just like reading other people's birth stories. I think the more you know going into it, the more comfortable you will feel when you go into labor.

We had our 20 week scan today and found out we are having a girl! So excited I can finally start knitting cute girly sweaters! Looks like I am the last one on the list to find out for our June board.
Only bump in the road (and not a small one) is that I have complete placenta previa (so the placenta is blocking the cervix) and will need to have an early/scheduled C-section. Just when I was about to book a doula and start our Holistic Birth class, too! So I will more likely have our little girl between 37-38 weeks - maybe the first week of June. We'll see...

@GreenThumb: I commented on the other thread but it's just a bump in the road. In a few months you will have your sweet baby girl in your arms! Finding out now also gives you a few months to work through everything in your mind. It gives you time to adjust to the change of plans.
