@GreenThumb: I don't know a ton about placenta previa, is there anything else you will have to do (bed rest, etc) or they just know they will have to deliver her early. It'll be nice in a way for you to be able to plan for exactly when she will be here. Congrats on your baby girl!

Shoveling through 29 inches of snow is a good workout! I think this means I don't have to walk on the treadmill today, right?

  3. GreenThumb

    pear / 1986 posts

@swedishfish: Heck yeah! No treadmill for you ;)! Hope the dig out isn't too bad.

@tlcbaby: It's definitely a bummer, but I'm trying to stay positive and am already thinking I'd like to have her on a Friday so DH can maximize time off from work ;). May 31st (36w5d) or June 7th (37w5d) sound good! And I was worried that I wouldn't go into labor until July - ha!

  4. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@swedishfish: 29'' wow! Yeah, I would say you can take the rest of the day off!

@GreenThumb: You certainly won't have to worry about that. And you can go out to eat and celebrate your last night alone together.

We had our actual fetal echocardiogram today and the baby's heart looks good. Yay! I found out that I have an anterior placenta which would explain why I'm only starting to feel baby kick on a semi-regular basis now.

    @swedishfish: Awesome news!

@swedishfish: I also have anterior placenta and I haven't felt any baby kicks. Or maybe I can't yet distinguish the difference between actual kicks or gas bubbles. I'm 21 weeks....I heard with anterior placenta that you usually don't feel movement until later...how far along are you?

  8. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@jh524: I'm 22 weeks. I hope I start feeling more soon! I'd like DH to be able to feel the baby kicking.

@swedishfish: well I'm in the same boat. Can't wait to feel baby!!!!

@swedishfish: Congrats on a great ECG!

@swedishfish: @jh524: I have an anterior placenta and am a couple of days shy of 25 weeks. I started feeling the baby like CRAZY last week, and can actually see my belly move on the outside this week! Its still difficult for DH to feel him, but we're starting to get a little more kicking action he can feel

  11. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@grizz: I've been seeing my stomach move, too! When I start to see and feel it, I get totally distracted from whatever I'm doing and just watch it.

  12. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

Well I think I am starting to move out of "comfortably pregnant". I feel like I spend more time awake at night trying to get comfortable than I do sleeping. right now for example, it is 2:00 in the morning and I am eating a banana with almond butter and watching The Hills because I just gave up on sleeping.

Anyone else having trouble at night?

  13. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@tlcbaby: Oh yes, it began last week. I'm up every few hours and toss and turn all night. I think I'm more tired when I wake up than when I go to bed!

  14. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@swedishfish: I feel the same way! Last night I was actually waiting for it to be morning so I could just get up already.

@tlcbaby: Yesssss. Particularly if (well when) I get up to pee. It's pretty much a guarantee now that I won't be able to fall asleep for at least an hour afterwards.

yep! so annoying. i'll get up in the middle of the night, like 3 or 4am to go to the bathroom. and it'll take a couple hours to fall back asleep. thankfully it doesn't happen every single night. maybe just every other. but when it does, i know i'll be exhausted throughout the rest of the day.

Um, in other news, I think I just leaked some colostrum.... What??? Has that happened to anyone else yet? (sorry if TMI!)

  18. softcream

    apricot / 423 posts

@knittylady: i've heard of that happening, but not for me. did it actually leak out, or did you have to squeeze?

  19. knittylady

    pomegranate / 3212 posts

It just leaked out! Not a ton but I felt something wet (bra's off for the night...) and looked down and there were three splotches on my shirt. I was so confused! Now it's drying, er, not like water dries so I'm pretty sure it was colostrum! Whoa.

  20. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@knittylady: yes! It happened at the beginning of January for me (way early!) and it happened again this morning. I bought some nursing pads in case it gets worse.

Hi everyone. Ive been following this thread for some time now and FINALLY decided (got off my lazy butt) to join:

    Me: Due June 19
    Located: Dallas, TX
    First Child
Team : Having a minime (aka GIRL)
Latest Dr. Appt was Jan 18 (full anatomy scan). She's developing well and no issues found. next appointment is this coming Friday!
Kicks? Yes. Especially at night when I try to use my doppler. i dont think she likes the pressure i put on the belly, she'll almost always move away from the doppler.
How I'm feeling: aiiiiiiiiiiiiiite. i cant complain. pregnancy, so far, hasnt caused many issues for me. My belly "popped" a few days ago and i feel like i look like an elephant.

@knittylady: My sister just had her third and I asked her about this recently. She said with her first child it happened a couple of times, but that was it. So far, I've been dry.

@knittylady: Ahh this happened to me once last week! Then again last night. Just a tiny little drop - like you I didn't have a bra on as I was at home and I looked down to see a wet spot. Only on one side so far. I tried to squeeze more out but came up empty handed.

    @juliekim: welcome!

Ahh! 25 weeks today. I really can't believe how fast this is going.

@knittylady: No leaking here! Although (TMI, maybe...) my nipples have been super dry. I actually bought some lanolin cream to put on once a week and that's been helping. I bought nursing pads because I didn't want to mess any bras/t-shirts up.

@tlcbaby: Sleeping has been hit or miss for me lately. I drink a ton of water but apparently I can sleep through having a full bladder...what's getting me tossing and turning these days are bizarre dreams/nightmares and sometimes baby movement.

Anyone else having bizarre dreams? I never normally remember my dreams, so this is a totally new thing for me.

  27. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@bisous: Oh yes, I'm having lots of strange dreams. I had one last week where a car drove onto our front lawn and destroyed our two gardens. I have no idea why. At least the dreams are mostly entertaining!

  28. knittylady

    pomegranate / 3212 posts

@bisous: Unfortunately I've been having stress/anxiety nightmares. I've always had very vivid dreams so it's not all entirely new but the negative stuff in the recent weeks is!

@juliekim: Welcome welcome! My baby is shy too, whenever he kicks I call DH over to feel him and then he immediately stops!

I had a few gray hairs before pregnancy but now they seem to keep popping up! I want to get my hair dyed. Is anyone else's hair turning gray?

  30. Boheme

    papaya / 10473 posts

@swedishfish: YES! Its so weird. I had zero pre-pregnancy.

  31. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@grizz: It makes me sad. I hope it goes away or I'll be spending a lot of money on dye jobs.

  32. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@swedishfish: I can usually see 2 or 3 grays and it has stayed about the same during pregnancy. I still wonder what I am going to do when I really start going gray. Will I own it or dye it?

So we painted the nursery last weekend! It is all starting to feel so real. Our birth classes start in two weeks and it is just so strange to be transitioning to planning for a baby instead of just planning for pregnancy!

  33. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@tlcbaby: I originally thought I'd own the gray hair but I'm only 29 so it's upsetting me more than I thought it would!

What color did you paint the nursery?

  34. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@swedishfish: It is mostly an aqua blue and we did one wall in orange. I'll post some photos later - all we need now are the prints for the wall and it'll be ready!

  35. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

    @tlcbaby: Awesome! That's so exciting!

I am ready to crack with my team green status. I want to buy all the clothes! But SeƱor Swedishfish says it's good for our bank account that we are team green.

  36. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@swedishfish: I know what you mean. I see so many cute clothes every time we go to the store, but I know that as soon as the baby is born and everyone knows girl or boy we will probably be inundated with cute baby clothes. That is the fun stuff!

We did register for this little set so we would at least have something in the drawers before the baby gets here. It is on backorder, but I am hoping it comes available soon.

@tlcbaby: That set is adorable! I've bought some gender neutral clothing and received some from my MIL as gifts but I'm ready for the gender specific clothing. I want to know if this kicking machine is a boy or a girl!

lots of intense dreams here too. more so the past few nights. they've been so intense and vivid, i wake up sweating. i thought it was because the heat was turned on, but nope, it's just me.

    pear / 1664 posts

@swedishfish: Haha, my hair was already turning grey before i got pregnant. More of it is now. Yay, right?

Anyone having Braxton Hicks? I think I might be here and there. It feels like a tight/firmness in my belly, lasting 10 or 20 seconds. happens a few times a day but not every day.

  40. knittylady

    pomegranate / 3212 posts

@softcream: I've been having insane night sweats! what is that about??

Anyone looking ahead to any baby showers? Know what you're going to wear?
