@jh524: Aww so cute. Sometimes it is hard to see the progression unless you put all the pics together. I'll put some of mine together too!

@tlcbaby: can't wait to see yours!!! I did see the pic of you lifting in another post awhile back.....you are amazing! Do you do crossfit? And are you still doing it??
nectarine / 2750 posts
@jh524: Yep! I am still going about twice a week but modifying pretty much everything. I am hoping all these squats are going to help me through labor!
Well I am sitting in the hospital waiting room right now at my appt. earlier this week they found my lipase levels were high and I have to have an u/s of my gallbladder and bloodwork to test my liver function. Apparently my pregnancy hormones have made my digestive system lazy. I just hope it isn't too bad. I am I pain all the time, but not the doubling over pain I hear a lot of people with gallbladder issues talk about.

@tlcbaby: I hope everything checked out okay for you. Sorry to hear your in pain! Keep us posted girl!!

@tlcbaby: oh no, I just saw this! How did your ultrasound go? Are you feeling any better?
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: @jh524: Ugh, it is getting worse. The ultrasound tech didn't really tell me much, I have to wait for them to send the results to my midwife. The only thing she did say was the baby was pushing right on the area where I said my pain was so hopefully it is only a temporary issue. I am only up right now because it is hurting and I can't sleep.
@softcream: I love your silhouette photos!

@tlcbaby: sorry to hear and hope the pain goes away quickly!!! That does not sound fun at all!
@softcream: cute pics!

Here is my progression, this would look much better if my husband had done it, but I did my best

Failed my one hour glucose and I'm going for the three hour this weekend. I should've listened to my gut and just skipped the one hour altogether since I failed it in my first trimester. The NP at my Ob's office told me that my body can't handle the one hour test. But the doctors told me to try it again. I feel defeated!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: Sorry you have to do the three hour Do you have to stay at the office the whole time or can you leave and come back?
I just got a call from my midwife's office and everything is fine with my gallbladder/liver/etc. They think the baby is just squishing everything, which is slowing down my digestion. I am going to stick to the low fat diet they suggested and see if that helps. On top of that, I have been fighting some bug so I haven't been eating much, which at least has helped with the chest pain!
papaya / 10473 posts
@swedishfish: Aww, I'm sorry! That must be so frustrating!
I'm waiting on my doctor's office to call me and tell me if I passed my glucose test a week ago. They said Monday, so I figured they would've called by now!
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@tlcbaby: I'm glad everything's alright! Does the low fat diet seem to have worked so far?
@grizz: I think no news is good news with the glucose test. I'm crossing my fingers for you!
I'm letting myself have a "why can't I catch a break with this pregnancy" day and tomorrow will start over.

I haven't taken a belly shot since week 16, I don't think. Seeing yours makes me sad but oh well! I feel HUGE!
My glucose test is tomorrow (the 1 hr)....
Oh and i have my baby shower this weekend! Of the 80+ things I registered for.... 2 have been purchased. Funny. I believe registries are only guidelines though, and I also feel weird about getting gifts... so whatever!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: hard to say...random things like salad make it hurt so I am just gonna give it some more time. We cut down on any sausage, bacon, etc. so maybe my system needs some time to catch up.
@LazyLightning: can't wait to hear about your shower! Hope your test goes well, too.
We are taking a trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto next week, but I am not allowed to call it a baby moon because my husband hates that word. I hope I am feeling better by then, I am excited to have some time to relax.

So I posted a little vent session on my frustration with healthy eating and cravings during pregnancy.....
http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/pregnancy-and-your-dietcravings-included.
So if any of my fellow June mommies have been dealing with this, let me know what your doing that helps you get through the day without destroying your diet. Thanks ladies!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@jh524: I am so sorry - it is frustrating. Most of my cravings are for foods that we haven't eaten in so long (like ice cream or pizza) that I am afraid I'll get sick if I eat them. That is really the only thing holding me back! When I do want a treat, I make grain free and naturally sweetened treats like these -

http://carrotsncake.com/2012/08/paleo-morning-glory-muffins.html
It sounds like tracking your food is helping a lot, though! Reading labels is huge - there are so many things you don't realize until you look at the labels.

I got my test results back. I'm anemic, and I flunked the glucose test - but I flunked on the low end! I apparently have gestational hypoglycemia. Fun stuff.
@LazyLightning: Good luck on your glucose test today!
pear / 1664 posts
@grizz: oh dang!
What does that mean for you? Diet changes or anything? Or, further testing?
papaya / 10473 posts
@LazyLightning: I guess it means I can eat carbs again! haha! My doctor told me to lay off them because I gained 9-10 pounds last month, but the fix for hypoglycemia is carbs sooo.... I'm guessing I'm in the clear to eat them now? So confusing! I'm also anemic.
pear / 1664 posts
@grizz: Hmm, well, I hope they tell me to eat carbs! LOL. I've gained... plenty... of weight already though.
Annnnd in a near glucose test suicide, i was looking for a snack in our work fridge and came across a leftover cake from a party. I almost ate a big ol piece before I was like, oh shit, duh. LOL.
nectarine / 2750 posts
@LazyLightning: Haha, you should have hid a piece for after you get your results.
My midwife finally called me in a z pack yesterday and even though I still feel kinda like a zombie, I think I am going to be better soon. Sickness is magnified times like 100 when you are pregnant!
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@grizz: wow, how low was your number??
My three hour test is tomorrow morning so I'm already fasting. However, I've taken my blood sugar level a few times this week an hour after a snack, after walking, and fasting and they've all been under 100. But it is what it is and I can't change whether or not I have gestational diabetes now. We will see next week.
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: I hope everything goes okay! How have you taken your blood sugar over the past week? If you have the testing supplies you can take them with you and maybe take it yourself to ease your worries a little bit.
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@tlcbaby: I borrowed my mom's meter. My plan is to take my blood sugar level if I'm feeling low to see if I need to end the test early. When I took the three hour in my first trimester my three hour number was 33. The NP asked me if I passed out. But I also want to enjoy myself this weekend if I do indeed have gestational diabetes so I'll only test if I'm feeling low
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: 33 - wow! Well that is a good point, give yourself a few more days of freedom just in case. I hope everything is just fine, though!

@tlcbaby: thanks!
I am having the great diaper bag debate of 2013 with myself recently. I ordered a PPB touring tote and a Danzo hobo but I'm definitely returning the touring tote. It's too small for me. DH just picked up a PPB boxy backpack for me while at work tonight. Has anyone chosen a diaper bag yet? Is anyone else as obsessed with bags as I am? I guess it's only natural to move my purse obsession to a diaper bag obsession!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: The PPB bags are so cute! I think we are going with this one because I want to make sure my husband is comfortable carrying it, too. I like that it is cross body because we'll probably be doing a lot of baby wearing. It isn't the cutest bag ever, but it looks pretty functional.

@tlcbaby: I bought that Diaper Dude bag in black for my husband for Christmas! I returned both the PPB touring tote and the Danzo hobo. I'm going with the PPB boxy backpack in Classically Crete unless I love the PPB city carryall when I see it in person.

I had my three hour glucose test today. My fasting number at home was fine before the test, tried to take my one hour number but wasted three test strips because I couldn't get enough blood out of my finger (?), my two hour number was too high...I crashed within half an hour after that and my number dropped over 80 points. I almost passed out. My three hour number was a 47. I'm going to be labeled as GD if my one hour was too high as well.
We came home and I ate two cinnamon raisin bagels because I was so hungry and shaky. I took my blood sugar 45 minutes after finishing and it was only 118. I think this glucola drink doesn't agree with my body. I will never put myself through that again. I am more than willing to test my blood sugar after every meal for any subsequent pregnancies.

@swedishfish - i've been having a hard time finding a bag. my hubs wants one that he can carry, too, so a lot of the "pretty" bags i found were out of the question.
I ordered the skip hop duo deluxe a few days ago because it was on gilt for only $29. that's going to be my "every day" bag for walks, short trips to the store, when we go out for dinner etc.
I'm still searching for a larger bag for longer excursions and trips.
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: I like that PPB backpack, the little rollout changing pad is nice! At least your test is over with. It definitely seems like you had a bad reaction both times, I'm sorry. Glad it is over, but hopefully your results will be okay, too.

So I still have no idea if I have gestational diabetes or not. The nurse called me today and said I didn't completely fail the test because only one number out of four was high. They want me to take the test again in three weeks I really don't want to do that to my body again. I have a doctor's appointment this Wednesday so I will discuss it with the doctor then.

@swedishfish: what exactly happens to your body when you get the glucose test? Do tell??!! I have mine in 3 weeks along with a rhogam shot.
papaya / 10473 posts
@swedishfish: It was 50. Its awful that they want you to put your body through that again! Surely there's another way they can gauge it. That's terrible

Just finished my 29 week appointment. Baby boy sounded good, is measuring a week big but no big deal, and it was your normal boring appointment. She mentioned an ultrasound at 35 weeks and I got excited... I haven't seen the little guy since 18 weeks!
