@tlcbaby: What did you decide on for a theme? I'm a Disney freak so we are doing Winnie the Pooh. It's good for a boy or girl!

i just bought the bellaband and am wearing it right now. omg, i should have gotten this weeks ago!
apricot / 423 posts
@jh524: this: http://www.ingridandisabel.com/product/1011/bellaband-everyday.html
up until today, i'd been using a hair tie to keep my jeans up, but it was getting uncomfortable. and when i left the zipper up and sat down, it would squeeze into my belly and baby was kicking at it! so i unzipped and the kicking stopped. i guess baby doesn't like tight pants.
i think there are other brands that make something similar to the bellaband, but i think this might be the original.

@swedishfish: I love that, we love Disney, too! We decided that my husband will make some prints of different music lyrics we love and hang them around the nursery. We are both really into music and like a lot of the same stuff and it was neutral.

@swedishfish: Thanks! I think we may make the drive to Ikea this weekend (about 2 hours) and check out cribs, dressers, etc. We have had good luck there, but only when we see it in person. Some of the stuff is kinda flimsy once you see and feel it.

We had our fetal echocardiogram appointment yesterday. The sonogram tech came in and told us it was too early to do a fetal echocardiogram; it had to be done at 22 weeks. My doctor's office told us to make the appointment between 18 - 22 weeks. So I felt terrible that we came in at 18 weeks but they did a "pre-anatomy" scan for us so we got to see the baby yay for that! Baby was waving and sucking his/her thumb...and rolling around. This baby is going to be a troublemaker!

@swedishfish: what's the pre-anatomy scan? What do they that's different than the anatomy scan???
We have our anatomy scan on Tuesday but still haven't decided if we want to find out the sex or not.... I can't decide!!!!!! It would be fun to make it a suprise but i can't stand the suspense of knowing I could know but choosing not to know. Did you get that??!! Lol
pear / 1563 posts
@swedishfish: I hope everything goes well with your next scan, sounds like this one was really cool
@jh524: I totally get what you're saying! We opted to find out the gender at our anatomy scan last week, and one of the things I kept thinking about was, how can someone in the world know (US tech, dr) but I don't know yet??? Now I knew I wanted to find out, FI didn't really care one way or the other.
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@tlcbaby: Yes, we go back at 22 weeks. My doctor's office actually just called me so I mentioned it. The nurse called me back and said a different doctor in the practice told her between 20-22 weeks. Seems like no one knows which end is up sometimes
@jh524: The tech just called it a "pre-anatomy" scan because I'm having an actual anatomy scan done at my own doctor's office later this month. I understand not wanting to know but wanting to know at the same time! The tech told us he had to find out for the purpose of the exam so we had to close our eyes! It was a strange feeling that he knew and we didn't!

And I had mine today...
Baby looks great, the tech didn't see any issues. And, SHE is a GIRL!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@jh524: It was a little weird for me KNOWING that we could find out and choosing not to, but from what I could tell, the tech didn't even look down there since we said we didn't want to find out.

@LazyLightning: congratulations!!! How many girls does this make for June?
pear / 1563 posts
@LazyLightning: Congrats on a good scan and the GIRL!
@swedishfish: I'm also having a girl.
Maybe a new survey is in order so we can all update what's been going on, and see who is pink, blue, and green? I know I've seen some that work for the midpoint in pregnancy on other boards.

How I'm feeling: Decent. M/S cleared up around week 18, took most food aversions with it. I have aches and pains, and pretty terrible acne, but life without being sick all the time is nice.

Due June 1; 21 weeks today.
Located: Pennsylvania
First Child
It's a Girl!
Latest Dr. Appt: January 11 - everything looks good and we found out we are having a girl!
Kicks? Yes! Definitely movement noticeable every day the last week or so - starting to feel more like kicks but nothing too strong yet.
How I'm feeling: Good. I've had a relatively easy time - no terrible M/S, and these days my energy is really good. Definitely noticing a change in how my stomach muscles feel though - it is hard stand up even though I'm not very large yet.

Due June 17 - I will be 19 weeks on Monday.
Located: Long Island, New York
First Child
We are Team Green!
Latest Dr. Appt: January 15 - everything's good so far.
Kicks? Maybe? Sometimes I think I feel a little flutter but it's so light.
How I'm feeling: really good right now. My MS ended right around Christmas and I have more energy this trimester. I still get tired earlier than usual though.

Latest Dr. Appt: January 17 - everything looks good
Kicks? A lot of fluttery movement in the past few days.
How I'm feeling: Pretty good. I get really tired if I overdo it and I'm starting to think my balance is a little off these days, but otherwise I have no complaints.
@LazyLightning: Congratulations on your girl! Glad to hear you're feeling better.

Team green!
Latest Dr. Appt: The one on Jan 10 was fairly boring. We also had an anatomy scan on Jan 16. Our little one was sound asleep and nice and cozy in there! We got a thumbs up from baby though in our u/s--too sweet!,
Kicks? Here and there...definitely not strong yet.
How I'm feeling: Feeling amazing except for the trouble I just started having while sleeping! I am not up to my normal energy, but I certainly have more than I did about a month ago. I am just counting myself lucky to be staying healthy despite the flu, head colds, and everything else that's going around! (Knocking on wood!!!)
Glad to hear you ladies are feeling good, too!

I just realized that most of us have less than five months to go! I am getting very excited!
Is anyone taking a baby moon? DH and I are going to Disney in February. I am such an 8 year old!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: I want to, but my husband refuses to call it a babymoon. He hates the term. I wanted to do Disney, but I think there are a lot of rides you aren't supposed to ride when you are pregnant so I was worried about that. Do you know if that is true?
I just want to go to the beach or somewhere that we can relax and I can rock the bump in a swimsuit.
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@tlcbaby: Yeah, there are a bunch of rides I won't be able to go on but we decided we are only going to go to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT this time. We will relax for the other two days which I never do at Disney!
And I agree with your husband - baby moon is a silly term but I kind of like it
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: Well I could have plenty of fun at Disney just walking around and checking everything out - usually we are rushing from ride to ride and I think we miss some of the little stuff. My husband used to work there so we both have a little nerdy love of Disney.
apricot / 423 posts
@swedishfish: we took an earlyish babymoon earlier this month when i was 16-17 weeks. we went to kauai for the week. it was super nice and relaxing. we ate lots of fruits and veggies. snacktime was trickier though because the local popular food there is ahi poke, and i was not about to feast on ahi (yellowfin tuna).
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@tlcbaby: you should go! I am a little upset that I won't be able to have my usual glass of champagne wandering around the World Showcase but it balances out. I'll wait till June
@softcream: Wow! I've never been to Hawaii! What a great vacation. My one regret is that we didn't travel more before getting pregnant.
pear / 1986 posts
We are headed to the Florida Keys for a few days next week - just a short babymoon - can't wait!
And, I'm finally feeling the baby move now at 18 weeks. So exciting! What a wonderful but weird feeling! Anatomy scan on Feb 8th, so we'll know baby boy or girl really soon.

We are going down to Key West in March for a long weekend. (@GreenThumb: if you have any suggestions when you get back, let me know!) I'll be 6 months preggo at that point. Is anyone else slightly freaked out about wearing a swimsuit?! I am hoping I can make one of the suits I already own work (a black swim skirt with whatever top still fits), as it seems silly to spend so much on a maternity suit I'll wear a couple of times...
I am also feeling the baby move at just over 18 weeks - such a weird sensation. I felt her earlier this week around 4 am after getting up to pee. Little nudges way low down. And last night I swear she just punched me and then completely flipped over. I actually said "whoa!" while sitting on the couch with hubby. He was a little confused until I explained what happened! I cannot wait until I can catch her moving consistently enough to have him feel it too...
And I'm finally photographically outing myself on this board - here's my 18 week belly bump photo. Eek!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@tinypiglet: @GreenThumb: LOVE Key West! I haven't been since I was little, but I want to go back so badly. You reminded me that I want to try on one of my swimsuits and see what it looks like. I have been wearing my Speedo at the gym and it still looks okay, but it is very full coverage!

we had our anatomy scan yesterday. our tech asked right off the bat if we wanted to know the gender, and we told her no. so she did a good job of avoiding any peeks at the goods.
it was so cool seeing the spine and all the little bones and the little face. baby was shy for the second ultrasound in a row, so we only got a partial on the face. still super cute. and we watched one kick in between all the freeze frames.
pear / 1664 posts
@softcream: so cool! I was glad our baby was in a good position for them to see most things (including gender), because she was VERY CHILL. Hardly moved at all the whole time, except once to punch me in my very full bladder. The only shot they couldn't get was a profile shot.
@tinypiglet: cute!!! My husband says he can feel it. Which I fine funny because I can't feel it from the outside. But he says he can so there you go...

My sister had her third baby this weekend and it made it all seem so real to me that we will all have little babies here in a few months. It got me so excited to meet my baby, her daughter was so perfect and adorable!

@tlcbaby: Aw, congratulations to your sister! That's awesome that your baby will have a cousin so close in age.
