@Revel: Yep, grad school! Its online, though, so I can easily take a little break from school until I get settled in with the baby, too. I don't want to take too much time off and fall behind, though.

Do you guys have good freezer meals pinned? I was all talk the other day and had all these tabs open with freezer meals, but closed them all by accident and have to start over..... Wanna share pinterest username's and therefore share meals??

@knittylady: I didn't use Pinterest for mine, but I'd love to see others! My name is tarahridesabike on Pinterest. Most of mine are from an ebook, but I am also going to do a bunch of egg cupcakes for breakfast and some soups. Tonight I did an egg casserole and cut it into individual servings before freezing it.
I am just going to keep doing a couple a week until baby time comes.

@knittylady: @tlcbaby: Freezer meals are my next task! I want to get back to my semi-paleo eating after baby so I also plan to do some mini frittata's, and hopefully some meat/veg dishes. Now that most of the baby items are in the house at least I guess it's time to cook.
I haven't pinned a ton of recipes, most is stuff that's in my head that I'm going to try to cook. One thing I like the idea of is cooking off a whole pork shoulder/batch of pulled chicken and portioning it out in freezer bags, so I can just thaw and add some veggies, a salad, or do a taco night. It's going to be summer so I know I won't want soups and stews every day.

@grizz: same as you regarding work. So swollen, exhausted, so much pain. Also the "morning" sickness. It's worse than the first tri! But I'm off on May 20. Looking forward to it so much. I need a rest.

Thanks on the freezer tips ladies! I may ACTUALLY start tomorrow. Ugh, it's so easy to decide to do nothing when you're this big and sore and on and on.

Anyone else having trouble sleeping through the night? I am up for the third night in a row, eating a snack wide awake at 1:00 in the morning! Everything is so squished that I eat a pretty small dinner, but it isn't enough to get me through the night. I don't even really look forward to going to bed because I am so uncomfortable.
I just want to sleep
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@tlcbaby: I hope you get some sleep. I wake up frequently throughout the night but I just turn over and try to go back to sleep. It's not easy at this point though.
I think baby dropped last night. It's a subtle difference because DH can't tell but I can feel it a little bit. Maybe my coworkers will be able to see it?
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: could you see that it dropped or does it feel different? I keep wondering if ill be able to tell!
pear / 1664 posts
@tlcbaby: I have bad reflux so I can't eat and then lie down. I need to stay upright for 4-5 hours after eating before bed. It's awful because I am starving and yes, that keeps me up (and makes me feel sick). But the reflux makes me sicker, so.... To answer your question, definitely not sleeping well. Dozing in and out, restlessly. Mainly my problems are hip and rib pain. Whatever side I sleep on gets bad after 45 minutes or so, then i have to flip, which means i have to pee... the cycle continues.
@swedishfish: I think my baby dropped or is dropping too. I'm not positive though as I haven't kept good photo records. But I am breathing easier, and I feel a lot of movement very low in my pelvis. Lots of shooting pains down there too---fun.
pear / 1563 posts
@tlcbaby: @swedishfish: @LazyLightning: More bad sleep here. I can't chalk it up to anything beyond waking every time I need to turn over, and then I have to pee so I can fall back to sleep. Thankfully insomnia has eased in the sense that I can fall right back to sleep, but I'm lucky to get a 2 hr stretch these days.
Interesting that some of you may be feeling the baby drop. I've been looking for it but she still seems quite high, because I'm still short of breath and relatively comfortable in my hips and with walking. Her head does seem low though because I feel the hiccups so far down, it's weird!

I hate to complain, I know it is all for a good reason! But wow I am so ready to have this baby although everyone I talk to says it is much easier to care for them in your belly than after they are born.
pomegranate / 3577 posts
@Revel: I have been wondering about the baby dropping thing for the past week. (Mainly because everyone seems to think this kid is floating right under my diaphragm.) So I posted a quick poll out of interest...
I wish I could freezer-meal right now, but we're doing the exact opposite and concentrating on making sure we eat everything in the house to get ready for the move.
pear / 1664 posts
@tlcbaby: Oh I'm more than ready. I think anyone who says it's easier before they come out hasn't had my pregnancy. When she comes out, at least I won't weigh so much my knees can't handle it (at least, I will be losing weight), and I won't be throwing up/having the runs all day and night every day. Whenever someone says something like that to me I resist the urge to vomit on them!!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@LazyLightning: maybe you should just go for it and vomit on them! Sorry, in my sleep deprived state that thought is making me laugh.
pomegranate / 3212 posts
I'm feeling the readiness too. Outside of my fear of the birth itself of course. Sleep is interrupted by peeing, rolling over, hop pain and reflux. Oy. And walking has become tough. We're carrying around a lot of weight!
On the other hand any time I've felt crampy I think, oh no! I'm not ready!
pomegranate / 3212 posts
@LazyLightning: Yeah, DH told his mom that my symptoms haven't been too bad. Um. Excuse me???
nectarine / 2750 posts
@knittylady: I don't think people who haven't experienced can understand it. I don't think I ever did!
pear / 1664 posts
@knittylady: it's so funny - I'm not at all afraid of birth regardless of what happens (assuming healthy baby/healthy me afterward). I feel like after so much pain and suffering, I'll be happy for an end to it regardless of the means to that end!!!
pear / 1563 posts
@Espion: I saw that thread, interesting. I'm pretty sure I'm still waiting...
@LazyLightning: @knittylady: @tlcbaby: Very mixed emotions of readiness for me. I feel like I'm ready to not be pregnant but not totally ready for a baby! Like knittylady, on days when I have a lot of BH I think NO, not yet! I go back and forth about birth itself - sometimes I'm excited for the experience and sometimes I'm terrified.

Remember when I thought baby dropped a little last night into this morning? Now I think baby has turned from head down to transverse. I'm feeling something big on one side of my belly and something big on the other. I cannot wait until my growth ultrasound on Monday!
pear / 1664 posts
@Revel: oh I know, on the having a baby part! I keep catching myself thinking it'll all go back to normal once the baby's born. Like getting over an illness. Yeah... a NEW NORMAL for sure, not back to normal!
pear / 1563 posts
@LazyLightning: "it'll all go back to normal once the baby's born. . ." HA! This, exactly... I suspect new normal is an understatement...
@swedishfish: Transverse, uh oh! Hopefully baby will be in a good head down position by Monday.
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: does it feel hard? I feel a lot of stuff on the aides but my midwife said it was amniotic fluid.
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@tlcbaby: it was rock hard for a few hours on both sides. I felt like the baby was trying to come out of me Alien-style! I'm hoping baby shifted a bit again because I feel a little better sitting down now.
pear / 1632 posts
@swedishfish: I know how you feel, baby has been lying transverse occasionally but yesterday was out of this world. He turned transverse and I could barely function. So painful, could hardly sit or walk, felt like he was trying to push his way out of my tummy. He turned back last night but he seems to like transverse... Doctor isn't worried.
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@jh524: oh good, I'm glad your baby moves around a lot then. I was worried baby would stay in a transverse position. It's definitely more comfortable for me when baby is head down though.

@swedishfish: oh no doubt!
Is anyone else's feet swollen like fat sausages!? It's so uncomfortable....I blame my husband for it, he brought home pizza on Sunday.
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@jh524: My feet are a little swollen at times.
My husband set up the swing on Tuesday and our dog was so scared of it! It was funny. I keep turning it on so he's getting used to it though.
nectarine / 2750 posts
@jh524: My feet and ankles get a little swollen, but luckily it hasn't been too bad. When it does happen I lie down with my legs up the wall and it helps. I have to use a lot of pillows to make it comfortable, though.
@swedishfish: I went ahead and set up the rock n play next to our bed so my dogs would know they needed to find a new place to sleep because they like to sleep right next to us on the floor.
pear / 1563 posts
@jh524: My feet started swelling at the end of the day this week - some days more than others - no fun!
So I felt so crummy yesterday - lots of digestive troubles and BH and I was so convinced I was going to go into labor! This terrified me, hahaha. Today I feel totally fine. At my appointment today the midwife said to expect lots of this back and forth in the coming weeks until baby actually comes.
nectarine / 2750 posts
@Revel: Everytime I make a "pain noise" my husband tells me not to go into labor yet because he has a few more things he needs to get done first...like the carseat, etc.
papaya / 10473 posts
@tlcbaby: My husband is the opposite! Now that we've got the pack n play set up he feels like we're set and is dragging his feet on finishing everything else. He's making me crazy!
We are bringing our hospital bags to my appointment on Tues since I had low fluid at my last appointment. I don't think anything will happen, but it would be nice to be prepared
pear / 1563 posts
@tlcbaby: I'm with your husband, I just want to get a few more things done!
@grizz: I hope everything is OK with your fluid issue. I plan to pack my bags as best I can this weekend.
papaya / 10473 posts
@Revel: I hope so too! I've been drinking tons of water so hopefully I've raised my levels to a number they're ok with.
nectarine / 2750 posts
@grizz: hope everything is okay too!
Every once in a while I have visions of being in labor and I have to force myself to push them out of my head so I don't start freaking myself out and getting scared. In my normal mind I feel ready and confident, but it keeps trying to sneak in.
papaya / 10473 posts
@tlcbaby: I had a freak out moment last night. We've done all this preparation for natural birth but every time something painful happens, I think I can't do it. Last night I had a charlie horse in my sleep, and woke up and thought "I can't handle a calf cramp! I'm going to need an epidural!" lol
