Just popping in from the May 2013 board to send happy, healthy baby vibes as June approaches! My due date is this Friday (5/24), but I have a gut feeling LO may wait to make his appearance in June, specifically June 4, our second wedding anniversary. I hope you are all doing well and getting psyched to meet your LOs...and I hope I can come join you in the event I have a June baby instead of a May baby!

@Espion: @knittylady: Oh yeah! I knew there was a full moon coming soon, how intriguing!

Ooooh a full moon on Saturday! Maybe it'll be someone's time for baby!

@maybebaby: The end of the month/beginning of the month due dates are funny because it could so easily go the other way. An anniversary baby would be fun!

I am mentally preparing myself that it could be the middle of June before I meet this baby, but I am avoiding June 6th like the plague because it is my husband's ex wife's birthday and his aunt's birthday and I don't want to share my baby's birthday!

@jh524: maybe half the June mamas will go this weekend and the other half around June 23?

@jh524: @Espion: I was just looking at the moon phases a minute ago because our EDD is June 23rd and we're hoping for a full moon baby! Not that I want to be part of all the commotion in L&D, but DH and I have had strong moon connections throughout TTC and our name choice is also moon-related.

I want a full moon baby! I dragged DH to Whole Foods tonight for more EPO, coconut water for my labor bag, coconut oil for my belly, and Third Trimester Tea from Earth Mama Angel Baby. He said he is convinced this pregnancy has turned me into a crunchy granola hippie, so a full moon baby would be icing on the cake

Well I have a giant zit on my face so I am destined to go into labor anytime! I know it is petty, but when I saw it today my first thought was that I hope I don't go into labor until it clears up. I don't want that in all my photos!

@jh524: it's my birthday on friday too!! i wouldn't mind sharing a birthday (my nephew was born may 25 and we shared a cake last year), but it'd be bad timing because a bunch of immediate family are traveling right now for the summer.

and i had a little freakout earlier today. i had some bleeding that required several wipes, and thought uh oh! but then i figured it was because i just had a cervical exam earlier in the afternoon. so i'm hoping it was just because of that. i'm not ready for you yet, baby!

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@tlcbaby: haha, of course you'll go into labor before that zit goes down! Bring some cover up to the hospital for pictures

@softcream: sharing a birthday is one thing but sharing a cake? I couldn't do it. I love cake too much! Haha. My doctor did warn me about bleeding from cervical checks but I haven't had any after the ones I've had done.

@maybebaby: Yay! Holy cow, you are so close! You should come join us either way.

@softcream: I had a twinge yesterday evening and the first thought that rushed to my head was, "Oh no! I am *not* prepared for this!" Of course it was nothing, and then I spent the next 15 minutes meditating on being a liiiiittle more confident, lol!

This morning I was standing out on the deck with DH as we were listening to the birds chirping like crazy in the trees. I commented that we should relax and enjoy the silence of the mornings while we could. To which he says, "Well, until this kid turns 13 and he stops talking to us." Ahhhhh, silence!!

@tlcbaby: Oh no! That's always the way isn't it....

@softcream: @Espion: I think I have a labor freak out almost every day these days - the reminder to be confident, or pretend at least, is a good one.

I think I'm actually going to stop reading birth stories because at this point they may be making me more anxious. I can't really tell.

  17. Espion

@Revel: I'm not sure I could stop reading birth stories. They are my crack!

@Revel: @Espion: I love birth stories! I feel better prepared reading them than I do when I read our childbirth workbooks or texts.

  19. Revel

    pear / 1563 posts

@Espion: Hahaha, that's hilarious! I felt this way too but something has changed for me.

@grizz: Agree - something about the individual experience seems much more helpful than just descriptions of the stages for example.

It may just be general labor anxiety creeping in and not the birth stories that are the problem for me. Gotta try to be zen...

I felt more prepared reading birth stories, too! I just like seeing all the possible outcomes, even if you go in wanting things to happen a certain way. I think it is helping me to keep my mind open and not get too tied to my birth plan.

The BPP was excellent! Baby was practicing breathing, moving nicely and had good fluid levels. The monitoring part cracked everyone up because the baby had the hiccups. It made hearing the baby's heartbeat a little harder but it was funny. I go back in a week for my next BPP.

I woke up to what I think was a contraction last night - my belly was hard as a rock and I had menstrual-like cramping. But I only had one during the night that I remember.

@swedishfish: Nice job, baby swedishfish! I'm glad you had a good appointment. I am so going to miss baby hiccups! They are the sweetest thing.

  23. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@swedishfish: Yea for a good appointment!

I liked baby hiccups when they were smaller, but now that they are such big movements and they usually happen when I am trying to fall asleep they kinda bug me sometimes!

  24. Espion

    pomegranate / 3577 posts

@swedishfish: My OB said that hiccups are a sign of good neurological development!

For some reason my belly is hard as a rock when I wake up in the mornings. But I've actually been sleeping mostly through the night (with at least one pee trip), which has been awesome. Although I tripped over our poor dog this morning.

So...I don't want to cause any undue excitement, but I'm having some pretty significant back-to-belly cramping going on intermittently. They feel like menstrual cramps, so I have no idea if something is starting or I'm just at the point of 39 week misery. I sent my coworker an email since our bosses are out of town just in case I don't make it in tomorrow!

As for me, some strong BH but nothing to write home about... Really thinking this board will see at least one baby before Monday what with the full moon and all!

@grizz: Commented on your other thread but hope all is going well and maybe this is it!!!

@tlcbaby: Agree on the hiccups! I think they're neat but so distracting at work or when I'm falling asleep. Baby girl seems to get them at least once a day.

@Espion: Interesting to hear that about the neurological development. I thought I had read something about them being a good sign that baby was practice breathing too.

@maybebaby: Happy due date! If it doesn't happen today I think you guys should go out and celebrate - have a nice night out to keep your spirits up.

I was having INTENSE contractions that kept me awake last night, but of course they were gone this morning. But I don't feel well today-really dizzy/lightheaded and I just want to lie on the couch all day. I got my swim out of the way and now that is just what I plan to do - be lazy with my doggies!

  31. maybebaby

    nectarine / 2177 posts

@tlcbaby: Ohh that sounds promising--and thank you! We have actually planned out a "Due Date Date" so we are celebrating instead of pouting. Headed out to Target to buy our first DSLR camera and then going out to a nice dinner Hoping things start up soon for you.

  32. Boheme

    papaya / 10473 posts

@tlcbaby: Same! I could've written the exact same post you just wrote. We had dinner with DH's parents last night and I cramped the whole time, had contractions/cramping all night, and then this morning I felt like I was going to faint when I got out of the shower. And now... nothing. Just cramps. Such a tease!!! Get some rest today! You might be having a full moon baby

  33. tlcbaby

@maybebaby: Oh sweet - sounds like a good day to me! I have a feeling we will break down and get a DSLR once we have the baby, although I am still impressed with the iPhone camera. We are planning a due date date next Saturday, too. And I think I'll get a pedicure or massage if I make it that far.
