@tlcbaby: you definitely should! i got a mani pedi with SIL earlier this week and treated myself to a foot reflexology massage yesterday only so much longer to enjoy a good pampering. we are getting a basic nikon with video--DH has the specs, it is whatever one is in the $500 range. we figure it is nice enough but basic enough for newbs like us! we saw gatsby last weekend--not my fave but we enjoyed getting out to the theater for sure.

    @Revel: thank you!

@softcream: @jh524: happy birthday, ladies wish my LO would share a birthday with you!! haha

    @maybebaby: happy due date!

We have a Nikon DSLR with video capabilities. I'll have to check the exact model when I get home. We bought it for our first anniversary because we knew the baby was coming in June (which seemed so far away in November!)

@grizz: It all still sounds so promising! My OB offered another cervical check (only if I wanted it) and I shrugged it off again because I feel like nothing is happening. Maybe I just need an extra week to get to where you are!

@tlcbaby: It sounds like things are starting to rev up for you too!

@maybebaby: A due date date! Such an awesome idea. Maybe (your) baby will see how much fun you guys are having and decide to crash the party!

@softcream: @jh524: Happy Birthday! Hope you guys are doing something fun!

Oh, and because the things DH says...

DH: I noticed you put a box of cookie mix out in the kitchen
Me: Yeah, I was thinking of making cookies. Maybe tomorrow?
DH: (excitedly) That means you are getting close!!
Me: (laughing) How do you know that?
DH: Because when women bake and make a nest, it means they are close to giving birth.
Me: Where did you hear that??
    DH: .... Rob.
Me: Ha! I'm glad Rob (co-worker) is such an expert.

Mayyyybe we should have done a few birth classes, no?

@Espion: Love it! DH always thinks I am nesting, but I think I have been nesting since we met! I am always cleaning/straightening.

@swedishfish: thank you! @Espion: that would be awesome! Just baked him due date cupcakes in case that entices him...

Also, just lost my mucus plug today (sorry TMI!) and REALLY trying not to get my hopes up!

@maybebaby: ah! Exciting! Keep us posted! Maybe your lo had your edd in his calendar!

@maybebaby: nothing's TMI on this board! That's so exciting!! I hope things rev up soon for you.

@Espion: I want cookies now, ha! I've been nesting for a while but baking hasn't come into play yet...more likely because I'm not supposed to eat the baked goods.

  11. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@maybebaby: Woah - definitely progress. Since we already jumped the TMI ship... did you umm know it happened or did you know because you looked/wiped? I feel like I have never looked in the toilet so much as I have in the past week just looking for some sign of something.

  12. Espion

    pomegranate / 3577 posts

@maybebaby: Def not TMI! I also wonder the same thing as (@tlcbaby:)...I have no idea what I imagine that would be like. I had some crazy mucousy something the other day, but didn't seem like what I would have expected.

  13. maybebaby

    nectarine / 2177 posts

@tlcbaby: @Espion: I have been manically looking at the TP for a while now for this very reason--I didn't feel anything come out but on the TP, twice in a row, there was what can only be described as a snot looking glob tinged pink with blood. But, if I hadn't looked at the TP I really wouldn't have known since I didn't feel anything at all.

@Espion: what was yours like? At this stage in my pregnancy I have lost all sense of boundaries! Haha.

  14. Espion

    pomegranate / 3577 posts

@maybebaby: Snot-looking glob is right on the mark, heh! No blood, though. Wow, that is actually making me really hopeful. I haven't had any crampiness though. I think Flipper is still floating around in there and not really engaged enough to get things rolling.

    nectarine / 2750 posts

    @maybebaby: @Espion: Thanks! I think I'll probably notice that.

Today I have been so dizzy and lightheaded all day! We were celebrating my sister's birthday and I had to sit down the whole time. I think I am just gonna get in bed and hope its better in the morning.

    @tlcbaby: feel better!

I am utterly exhausted today. I'm hoping to get some quality sleep tonight and not toss and turn too much.

@grizz: Hope you are doing okay, momma. I had to get up at 4 am to pee (TMI train!) and has to check to see if you were doing okay, and if there was any news!

@Espion: still the same old same around here! Cramps that haven't turned into anything! Our Bradley class instructor said I have classic early first stage symptoms...but that they could last up to a couple of weeks! I'm up to pee too lol...and take Tums.

  22. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

I had another night of cramps, too. But they aren't contractions...just constant cramps and some BH contractions mixed in. Enough to keep me awake, though. Luckily, the light headedness from yesterday has gone away.

  23. LazyLightning

    pear / 1664 posts

I had a lot of extreme pressure yesterday that wouldn't go away. I ended up going in as I was worried I went in to labor and didn't know it. Nope. But he did sweep my membranes for me. Sadly I don't think it did anything. It's been about 16 hours since the sweep and I haven't so much as had a cramp. At least for me, the sweep didn't hurt - I was still waiting for him to do it and it was all over! But I wish it would have gotten me somewhere, ya know?

I did wake up with very damp jammies this morning. I think just from discharge? Monitoring that... but no gushes or anything so I'm not too hopeful.

  24. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@LazyLightning: oh, hopefully the membrane sweep will start working. Granted, I know nothing about membrane sweeps. Did they do a cervical check for you?

  25. Espion

    pomegranate / 3577 posts

@grizz: @tlcbaby: yeeesh! I can't imagine the is it?/is not? you both are going through. (Although, I'm hoping to kick into gear soon!). The difference between "it could happen any second" and "it may take a week" is an eternity. I think it's safe to say that you both will have babes soon, though!!

@tlcbaby: I'm glad your lightheadedness is better. Did you get your blood pressure checked yesterday?

  26. LazyLightning

    pear / 1664 posts

@swedishfish: Yep. I've had 4 of them now in the last 2.5 weeks. The first was totally closed, and the rest have all been 1 cm, 0% effaced. Not for lack of trying either. I've been walking, bouncing on the exercise ball, etc...

  27. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@Espion: No, I probably should have, though. If I would have still felt that way today I think I would have gone in to get it checked. My sister (a nurse) said the baby could have just been compressing something.

  28. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@LazyLightning: Fingers crossed that'll get things moving!

  29. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@LazyLightning: hopefully things start moving along soon! I wanted another cervical check on Thursday but the NP said she only does them before 38 weeks if the NST shows contractions. Of course my NST didn't show anything. I know it doesn't mean much but I was curious if things have moved beyond what I was told at the hospital on Mothers Day!

    Any news today ladies?

Nothing here - but we did watch Happiest Baby on the Block today and it was actually a pretty short video and the tips were easy to remember. I was worried it would be something that I would watch and totally forget afterwards.

  31. maybebaby

    nectarine / 2177 posts

@tlcbaby: Hope you're feeling a bit better and get some decent sleep soon! I have read the book but I've heard great things about the DVD--gotta get it so DH can see!

We drove an hour and a half away today for DH's youngest brother's HS graduation--I debated going, but nothing exciting had happened since the plug thing yesterday, so I figured why mope around all day. I am glad we went, and nothing else happened to indicate things are happening (despite stormy weather and full moon!) On the way home we stopped at the outlets and bought some cute little NB polos and totally absurd baby Sperry Topsiders to match DH's new shoes
They will last for approximately 5 minutes, but we couldn't resist.

Hope everyone else is doing well! We have a Memorial Day BBQ tomorrow that I wouldn't mind missing for the right reasons...crossing fingers more things are happening tomorrow!

About that full moon! My water has officially broken! Baby T will be making his or her appearance hopefully in the next 24 hours. We were 2 hours away for a wedding yesterday and apparently the dancing did the trick?

Good luck to all! I will post again in a few days I hope.

@bisous: Yay! I can't wait to see a baby update! Best wishes for a safe and healthy delivery!

I now grab my phone and check this first thing every morning hoping to see a baby announcement, heh. Nothing new here. No cramping, tons of BHs. Had a ton more of the pressure yesterday, but gone this morning. It seems like he is settling, then floating back up.
Going to have to see if another full day of packing will shake this kid loose!

@maybebaby: I'm glad you were able to get out and enjoy the day. Can't wait to see your babe in little Sperrys! My DH loves those shoes.

@maybebaby: Glad you went to the graduation and had a nice day!

@Espion: I didn't feel like baby had dropped yet, but I asked at my appointment on Friday and she said baby's head was really low and engaged, so maybe he is down low.

@Revel: I haven't had them check me yet, because I don't want to get discouraged. I do know this kid is definitely positioned for launch, though!

I'm wigging myself out a little about the possibility of induction. (My induction date is officially set for the 10th, which is a mere two days after my due date. DH leaves for Port Hueneme on the 15th.) I have now officially crossed into the realm of crazy lady at the grocery store...I walked out with fresh pineapple and two tubs of pitted dates. I'm eating something ridiculously spicy tonight. Now the question is: how on earth do I seduce DH when he is dog-tired from working all day and I'm so sexy that my stomach enters a room before I do? My college self would laugh at me now, heh.
