Well June mamas, I'm being induced tomorrow! I ended up having another episode with my blood pressure/vision last night that sent me to L&D and pressure continues to be an issue this morning (in addition to low platelet count) so I'll head in tomorrow afternoon and hopefully have baby girl on Saturday. Totally shocked, but apparently they almost didn't let us leave the hospital last night, so I'm grateful to have had one more good night of sleep in blissful ignorance since I'm sure I won't sleep much tonight! Wish us luck!

@GreenThumb: Wow - good luck with everything! And definitely glad you got a night at home to rest up before the big day. Let us know how everything goes!!

@GreenThumb: oh my goodness!!! Good luck and sending happy vibes your way! That's surreal for me because our due dates are so close!! Please keep us posted as we'll all be thinking of you!!
I had an appt. and dr. Couldn't figure out baby's position so I was sent for an ultrasound. Baby is head down and very tightly in position. I couldn't really see much as its hard to figure out what your the heck your looking at!! But all is well.
Oh and how's this for a friendly greeting from a nurse,." Hi, so are you miserable yet?" - really?! super annoying question.

@tlcbaby: he wouldn't take off said he needed to save his days for when the baby comes. He suggested getting up early tomorrow and I said I already get up at 5:30 AM, haha.

@yourekindapretty: @swedishfish: @jh524: @tlcbaby: Thanks for the well wishes! I'm feeling ok now, just a lot of nerves! This all developed just a week ago so definitely now what we expected to hear when we went to the OB's office this morning. But I trust my doctor and know she'll do what is best for us. I'm also headed to my acupuncturist in the morning so she can try to help get my body ready, too. At the very least a session with her is always a great way to relax. I'll let you know when she arrives!! Hope all is well with everyone else!

@GreenThumb: Good luck tomorrow!
Thanks for the thoughts ladies, but no action on the labor front yet...
I'm eating pineapple and spicy foods tonight and bouncing on the ball in skeptical hopes that it does SOMETHING! ha.
Is it weird that I feel like I'm disappointing people in my life for not having him today? @TLCbaby have you had weird emotions in going past the EDD? (I can't remember off the top of my head if anyone else here is now "post-term")
nectarine / 2750 posts
@knittylady: I don't feel too weird since I knew it was a possibility. I mostly feel like I am avoiding people because I don't want to see or hear their "feeling sorry for me" comments.
I do feel like I am in a holding pattern where I just do some stuff around the house and watch bad movies all day because all I can think about is this baby getting here!

@knittylady: @tlcbaby: I'm sure that both of your babies will arrive soon! There's a new moon on Saturday and my MIL is insistent that new moons and full moons bring babies.

@swedishfish: Thanks
Well my husband was a Derby baby, he has a cousin who is a Preakness baby and if our baby were born Saturday we could add a Belmont baby and have a triple crown!

@swedishfish: That would be awesome!
@tlcbaby: oh my goodness that would be too perfect!

@jh524: I haven't watched Identity Thief...I'll save my time.
Today I re-watched Into The Wild for the third time. I LOVE that movie.

@tlcbaby: love that movie!!! Have you seen the hunger games? I know it's been out for awhile but I just watched that too and i really liked it. It totally had me in tears though...

@jh524: thanks for the warning about Identity Thief - I was going to download that onto my iPad for the hospital.
nectarine / 2750 posts
@jh524: Yes I saw it in the theatre and then again when it was on Netflix. Have you read the books? They are really good!

I've been rewatching episodes of Psych, Monk and SVU.... any other netflix streaming recs?? good to know about Identity Thief.. that was on my list!
pear / 1632 posts
@swedishfish: yeah, don't. It was not at all as funny as I was expecting. I couldn't even finish it!! And i bought it through direct tv for 5 bucks!! big time waste!!! :(. So where do you download movie from onto your iPad? That's a brilliant idea!!!
@tlcbaby: no I haven't! But might have too, well on second thought...will I have time for reading when baby gets here?! Prob not. Lol
nectarine / 2750 posts
@jh524: Yeah, I don't know how much reading time there will be
@knittylady: Dawson's Creek! I watch so much bad tv if you leave me here alone all day. I've been reliving my high school years.

@jh524: iTunes but they're so expensive! Identity Thief was something like $15 so I'm glad I didn't download it. Maybe I'll just download some new apps to play.

@tlcbaby: found u on Pinterest!! I tried once before and didn't have any luck,
Are any of you going to follow baby wise method? That's what I'm planning and just wondering if anyone else is...
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@jh524: what's the baby wise method? I'm planning on using the I have no clue what I'm doing method. Yours sounds better.
pear / 1632 posts
@swedishfish: it's a method to get your baby on a schedule that's PDF, parent directed feeding, and it focuses on sleep, play, feed. I read the book and have had close friends and family be very successful with this method. Here's a link (example) I will be using....

*its important to note, the first few weeks are not meant to be rigid by any means. The first few weeks are learning about your baby and after a few weeks is when you start to work on adding it in...
I also like this blog..... Has great info for breastfeeding.!! http://www.thealphaparent.com/2011/12/timeline-of-breastfed-baby.html

@jh524: Oh good - I have been even more Pinterest obsessed since I have been at home recently.
I haven't looked into babywise much, but one of my good friends has a five month old and had a lot of success with it. Her daughter sleeps from 8 to 8 and eats on a pretty set schedule. She really recommends it!

@GreenThumb: Good luck with the induction! Definitely get plenty of rest beforehand and in the early stages. Soon you'll see your babe!

@jh524: thanks for the link! I glanced at it quickly during breakfast and will read it in depth when I get home.
@GreenThumb: good luck today! You'll do great!

Well I think *something* might be happenings, but I still really can't tell. I have had runny, almost watery, discharge all day and my contractions have actually been painful, not just BH. But they still seem to level off a bit when I am up and moving around, but it is at least giving me hope that things are progressing!
Anyone doing anything fun this weekend? If baby doesn't come, we are going to the grand opening of a new park in town tonight and tomorrow is my nephew's 2nd birthday party. Tomorrow is also the day I promised myself we could get frozen yogurt if I made it this far. I haven't had any frozen yogurt or ice cream for almost two years!
pomegranate / 3212 posts
@tlcbaby: Oh my goodness get yourself to an ice cream shop!! You deserve it!!
kiwi / 542 posts
@tlcbaby: Erm wow. I view it as a major accomplishment if I only eat one ice-cream per day....
I am just going to sit in the corner now and hang my head in shame..

@sea_bass: @knittylady: We have cut out dairy for the most part, but I will be really upset if I go into labor tonight and don't get my frozen yogurt - I was going to be really bad and throw in all kinds of cookies and chocolate and other fun toppings.
Trust me, I still love my treats! Today I made frozen chocolate covered banana bites and the bananas actually taste a lot like ice cream when they are frozen.
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@tlcbaby: um, I'd get that ice cream or frozen yogurt tonight. You deserve it and hopefully you're on your way to having a baby!!!
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
@sea_bass: haha, I thought I was being good with frozen yogurt every few days and some chocolate in the afternoons. I am embarrassed.
nectarine / 2750 posts
@swedishfish: I think you might be right, but it is already 8 and we haven't even had dinner. Maybe I can make someone bring me some in the hospital if we don't make it.
pear / 1632 posts
@sea_bass: um yeah, I have an ice cream bar or Popsicle every night so your not alone....ha! And now frozen yogurt with toppings sounds delicious....
@tlcbaby: get that frozen yogurt girl!!!! You deserve it!

Well no time for frozen yogurt! My contractions picked up and we started timing them during dinner around 8:00. By 10:00 they were between 3 and 4 minutes apart and I had to stop what I was doing to get through them so we drove to the birth center. I labored for 5 hours at the hospital and started pushing about 2:45 or so and at 3:30 we had a baby!
And guess what.....it's a boy!!! We haven't picked a name yet, but he is so sweet. He is lying here sleeping on me now trying to stay warm. And I am hoping someone brings me some breakfast soon. We are all doing well, just tired from being up all night.
