@tlcbaby: Congratulations!!! Enjoy your baby boy, isn't it just so amazing and surreal? I hope they bring you frozen yogurt for breakfast
nectarine / 2750 posts
@Espion: I might ask someone to bring some. Surreal is definitely the word I would use. Like 5 hours ago I was pregnant and now I am not. It is a big adjustment. I hope you are feeling well.

well I haven't checked in in a very long time - but it is the day before my due date. I'm the girl who wanted to go OVER My due date, so I'm just fine. Have had some light contractions, but nothing else to indicate that I might go into labor.
Doctors appointment Monday and they will do a non stress test and schedule an induction sometime before 42 weeks. Can't wait to meet the new baby, but also savoring time with my two year old. Congrats to all those who made it to the other side~

@itsmejules: glad you're doing well! Any guesses on whether your baby is a boy or girl? I keep going back and forth for me.

@tlcbaby: whoa!! Just like that!! I can't believe you had him last night, that's amazing!!!!! congratulations!! I'd totally bring you frozen yogurt if we weren't just Hellobee friends! Lol

@itsmejules: well get ready, apparently you'll be fine like @tlcbaby, talking about frozen yogurt and the next thing you know BAM!!! you're having a Baby!!!
So I've been totally scrubbing it around the house, hardly any makeup, hair in ponytail just not really caring what I look like but now I'm worried that if i go into labor all scrubbed out, will I have time to get ready and look pretty?! Example...silly example...kourtney kardashian had time to shower and shave and get " ready"before she went in. Okay, bad example but you see what I mean. do i need to be sleeping with my makeup on at this point with curling iron in hand??!! Haha!!!

Yay @tlcbaby! Congrats on your little boy. Enjoy getting to know him and picking out a name. And demand that froyo!
@jh524: I've been doing the same thing. Today is mopping floors and cleaning out closet (which I hear is a classic impending labor sign, tackling a closet; wishful thinking?!) I have it in the back of my head that I'll be hopping in the shower and at least fixing my hair before we head out if labor were to really kick in. We'll see, huh?

@swedishfish: Yup, that's the day...DH was moderately excited that E was born on D-day. Felt like it!
@tlcbaby: I am so much better. E BF'd like a superstar this morning...thank goodness. Yesterday was hard because they had to have him under the UV lights...all he wanted was to be held and fed, but you feel obligated to keep him in a box with the UV lights. So hard. I'm lobbying to go home today, so hopefully we'll be out of here by this afternoon!
I hope your post-partum is the very definition of smooth!

@tinypiglet: yes, exactly. I want to be able to at least clean up and look decent but that's probably the last thing on your mind anyways. And yes, your urge to clean is surely a sign labor s coming!!!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@jh524: haha thanks! DH promised he would go get me some tonight.
@tinypiglet: I was totally cleaning like a maniac for the past week. I did not want to come home to laundry, dishes or a dirty house. And I totally put on makeup before we left for the hospital. Even though it didn't survive the cold wash cloths I kept on my face to stay cool.
@Espion: So far it is okay. He hasn't really eaten yet, he just hangs out in the area and sleeps. Makes me think we may be up all night tonight feeding...
Hope you get to go home today!
@Revel: As intense as everything was, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Except maybe getting some more sleep first!

@tlcbaby: I'm so glad to hear about your birth! Sounds like it went well.:)
can I ask what early labor felt like for you? You said you weren't sure you were really in it... i've had lots of mucous-y discharge going on today (sorry tmi!) and cramping but I don't know what to take seriously!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@knittylady: Well I ran a bunch of errands during the day yesterday and I could tell my contractions were more crampy, but they were about 20 minutes apart and when I was walking around the store I didn't really feel anything. I did have really watery discharge all day.
Oh and yesterday was the first day that the cramps definitely coincided with the contractions.
By about 7:00 that night the contractions were getting closer and my discharge was really mucusy and there was some blood. They kept getting harder to ignore. We went for a short walk and I had to slow down or stop when a contraction hit. And they were making me feel a bit nauseous.

@tlcbaby: Thank you for writing back when you've got a million things!
Do you guys get to leave the hospital tonight or is it one of those stay another night dealies? My hospital has you stay 2 nights depending on what time the baby is born... I forget the cutoff!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@knittylady: I am actually not doing much-he has been asleep all day! The standard is two nights so we would leave on Monday but they said if I am feeling well and everything looks okay we can probably go tomorrow. I would probably take them up on it!

I've been having brown tinged discharge over night and then at six it was definitely red... Thinking I will call the midwife? When do you call the midwife versus knowing its just the "show"?
papaya / 10473 posts
@knittylady: Wouldn't hurt to call and ask! That's what I had the day before I went into labor! Excited for you!

@knittylady: sounds like things are starting for you, how exciting!!! I'd call to let her know..

Yeah I had contractions that I was able to sleep through all night and now I can't ignore them! Ouch! I'm gonna give the midwives a call!

David Mats is here!! I'll write more soon but I'm on a strict refining of staring at him we're both healthy and exhausted!
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
I hoped last night was it because I was having consistent tightening every two to four minutes but then realized I was only having cramping with every few tightenings. My back is aching and I'm 39 weeks today so you can come out now, little one!
nectarine / 2750 posts
@knittylady: Congrats mama! Stare away
@swedishfish: Haha sounds like it'll be anytime now.
We are headed home this morning as long as the baby and I both check out healthy. So ready to be back at home!
