Still at home. Managed to get some sleep, and contrax seem harder to track now, which makes me wonder what is going on. Guess we will see how this morning goes.

@jh524: I got him a special card I made he loved it. We just got back from brunch... It's actually my due date and my birthday tomorrow! So either I get to meet my baby, or I get presents.. It's a pretty good deal...

@swedishfish: me too nothing to report!

    @tinypiglet: good luck!

@Espion: I haven't done any tracking, my dr. Never mentioned it and I've alway felt baby kick a lot. It's just been these last weeks here he definitely has slowed down. After asking dr. Google, it seems quite normal to feel less movement. But i still get concerned when I haven't felt him in awhile.

@sea_bass: happy due date and happy birthday tomorrow!! Yea, sounds like a great deal, ha! Have fun!! Just start celebrating now...

@swedishfish: happy due date, well it's tomorrow but I think u should celebrate now too!!! i mean whats 1 day after doing this for 9 months......And i won't ask how your doing or if theres anything to report...Hehe..

@jh524: yes, baby has moved WAY less in the past few weeks. He/she is kicking right now though but I do get worried at times. No more room in there!

@sea_bass: aw, happy early birthday! It would be awesome if you and your baby shared a birthday!!

@tinypiglet: Any progress? How are you doing?

Nothing to report here. Getting antsy with tomorrow looming and no baby in sight. At least I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to distract me for a little while.

Doing ok. Still at home, went for a walk and had lunch. Now reading a book and timing. Seem to be about 7 mins apart on avg? Could be Tuesday at this rate!

@sea_bass: my lower back is hurting and I was slightly nauseated before but I think I just ate too much for lunch. DH left for work about twenty minutes ago so it would be a major waste of gas to go into labor now

    How are you?

  13. sea_bass

    kiwi / 542 posts

@swedishfish: just pulled a muscle in my back rolling over in bed!!!! Not good timing! Will probably have to see a physio tomorrow now I don't want to go into labour like this!! Sigh!!

  14. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@sea_bass: oh no!!!! Maybe a heating pad would help? Or an Icy Hot or Thermacare patch? My doctor gave me permission to use Icy Hot patches as needed as long as I don't use more than the allowed amount per day. Feel better NOW!!

@swedishfish: Knowing my luck, after NO SIGNS whatsoever my waters will break tonight while I am immobile/in agony.. Sigh..

  16. swedishfish

    GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts

@sea_bass: that would be ironic. You must take it easy for the rest of the day!

@swedishfish: My bags have been packed for a couple of weeks now, yes.

Took another nap and now to my dismay there seems to be very little going on. How long could this possibly take?! I've never had more than a few hours of contractions in a row at night before, so this whole round is totally different, but the stalling out is maddeningly frustrating. Plus I'm worried that they will pick up fast all of a sudden at some point out of the blue, and we'll be rushing to get to the hospital (which is at least 30 minutes away in good traffic). Ugh.

Maybe I'll go for another walk.

Hello everyone! Joining this thread super late in the game, hoping for some fellow support & a few laughs in the last week of pregnancy.

At my last dr. appointment they stripped my membranes but nothing more has happened other than a few inconsistent contractions and loss of mucus plug. Feeling pretty good considering being hella pregnant - haha. Just trying to stay sane while I wait for baby to arrive

@Darling: hi darling! (Sorry, couldn't resist!) welcome! Glad your still feeling good. I've been feeling great definitely up for some company. I'm due tomorrow and thinking I could be the last one left on this thread!!

@swedishfish: DH is getting me Vietnamese food and I'm not moving. I hope this resolves if baby decided tonight was the night I'd have no idea what I'd do! I'm only comfortable when standing bolt upright. I feel that could be incompatible with birthing...

@Darling: hi, welcome!! how has your pregnancy been ? What was it like when they strip your membranes? Do you have an induction date? Oh, I here ya. I felt hella pregnant when I was in a bikini yesterday at a public hotsprings....felt like quite the spectacle !!! Ha!!

@sea_bass: I'm sure you'll go before I do...don't be silly, silly!!! Hope your back gets better....;take a warm bath ? Get massage?!

@tinypiglet: yes, keep walking!!!!! I heard climbing stairs and squats may help too!!! so excited for you, woohoo!!

@sea_bass: Well, you have company for now. Sorry to read you are so uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong...I have those days too when only standing is comfortable but then swelling starts, so yeah. Swimming is great if you have access to a pool or lake. Hope you find relief soon!

@Darling: I'm basically an idiot.. I have hyper mobility and rolled over in bed... End result is I pulled a muscle. I should know better and be more careful.. Ironically I've been feeling great up till this so wonder if baby will choose tonight to arrive!!

@jh524: I just hear about everyone's symptoms and I have none! Makes me wonder how long I'll be hanging around here

@sea_bass: you'll be the one where labor just suddenly strikes without any warning or signs. Just be ready! Don't get discouraged.

@jh524: My pregnancy has been fairly typical, a few weeks of morning sickness, able to stay fairly mobile throughout. I think working from home and being my own boss has been the biggest luxury for me during this process. Kudos to the ladies who are still working.

The membrane stripping was a little uncomfortable but a few deep breaths during helped. There was a little bit of cramping and very light spotting afterwards for about a day. I'm only 1cm dilated but 90% effaced I have another dr. appointment tomorrow morning. Hoping for some encouraging updates or at least hear what the options are for induction. My mom had to induce with me and I hear that's fairly common with FTMs.

@jh524: That would be rather nice! Was like that for my Mum. Nothing at all before it began!

@tinypiglet: good for you! My bag is still "kind of" packed. I'm sorry the contractions are stalling again. But just think of how much they're helping move you along. Have you talked to your doctor?

  29. tinypiglet

    cherry / 184 posts

@swedishfish: No, I didn't call the doctor today because things weren't progressing the way I figured they should. (I was planning to call her at 5-1-1 but never got past about 6:30-1-1.) If they pick up again and get truly painful, I'll plan to call her, but right now I am just feeling uncomfortable, no real contractions. So bizarre how your body just does whatever it wants...and your brain struggles to make sense of it.

@tinypiglet: Its all working towards the end goal. None of the contractions you went through are wasted. They are ones you will never have to do again

You will have your baby with you soon!

  31. tinypiglet

    cherry / 184 posts

@sea_bass: Thanks! It gets harder to keep it all in perspective when I keep getting faked out. You are right, though, I'm sure the contractions that went on for ~20 hours since last night did help with progress.

@sea_bass: @tinypiglet: wouldn't it be nice if pregnancy came with a timer? Like a turkey! Bing, I'm done!

  33. sea_bass

    kiwi / 542 posts

@tinypiglet: They did. They can't reverse Your body will be making progress and then giving you rest periods so that when they main event happens to have the strength to get through it.

I hope that makes you feel even a tiny bit better. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to think its started, only for it to taper off!

@swedishfish: @tinypiglet: Haha! I think its supposed to teach us something about the uncontrollable nature of being parents
