Great news! Had my appointment with the specialist today and there is no placental abruption. There is something, not near the placenta, that he said was a sub chorionic hematoma. It should be fine and not cause any other problems and baby looks great. So relieved.

I changed my costume. The dalmatian dress I bought doesn't look enough like a dalmatian print (that's how it was listed, but it looks more like white cheetah or leapord) and I don't have accessories, and it's uncomfortable (non maternity size medium shirt dress and 23 weeks = no bueno), SO I'm an old lady. I did this 5 years ago and it was a hit, it's super comfortable, and I still had everything, even the gray hair spray paint. My firefighter husband and son can rescue me.

@MrsB2012: I'm sorry you're having a rough time and in so much pain. I hope it gets better for you. Enjoy your shopping trip though!
@mrs. tictactoe: Yay for good news!

Got my results back and no GD for me! I am a little anemic though, so I have to take an iron supplement. I hope everyone is having a very Happy Halloween!

    @Aria: yay for no GD!

I'm sick Sore throat and upset stomach. Trying to stay in bed as much as possible. I hope I'm well enough to work tomorrow because I was just out last Thursday for Liam's Halloween party.

@Aria: Congrats on the GD test! You must have been so relieved.

@mrs. tictactoe: So sorry you're sick. I've been lucky so far, am dreading cold season and not being able to take meds until March!

All of my leftover Halloween candy has been shared with my office, and now I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving! Can't believe it's November. I'm so excited for the holidays!

@mrs. tictactoe: Oh no, hope you feel better soon. It's that time of year...

@loopedd: Thanksgiving is in just over 3 weeks! Ahh! I feel like this means the holidays are going to fly by for all of us, and then February will be here in no time. This is getting real, real fast!

I had my GD test on Monday and on Tuesday the dr called. I was freaking out, but turns out my iron is just really low, my glucose test was fine. I had to start taking additional iron which is fine. At least it explains why I'm sooo bagged haha. I have an appt on Monday to go over the rest of the stuff.
Now that it's nov. I can officially say I'll be on Mat leave next month! I'll be leaving work around the middle/end of dec, how crazy is that! I cannot believe how fast this has gone by!

I got back from a two week business trip to Serbia and Macedonia, I am So glad to be back and I am now so much bigger. It's been really fun to see everyones reactions.

With finally getting bigger I now have heartburn. I feel like it gets worse when I dont eat often. I haven't managed to figure out what foods make a difference. Anyone else having this?

This is all just flying by!

  15. mrs. tictactoe

    blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts

@maddyz: I usually get heartburn at night when I lie down to go to bed. I almost always have to take a tums at bedtime.

@maddyz: I have this and haven't figured out my triggers yet either. It seems worse when the baby is awake and active.

@Mrs.Ticktactoe I am happy to be home and able to buy tums!

It's maybe a little tacky that the jar just sits on my desk....

  18. Kbee

    kiwi / 560 posts

@maddyz: I've had terrible heartburn too. I've noticed mine is triggered most by sugar or white carbs (so basically just sugar). I take tums with me everywhere! But I've started cutting out sugar a little and it's helping.

@MrsB2012: Hopefully getting your iron straight will help you feel less tired!

I know we're supposed to feel "full of energy" in the 2nd trimester, and I was, until this week (25 weeks). I've been so exhausted, even with getting 8-9 hours of sleep a night. Is this happening to anyone else?

  19. Iced Tea

    persimmon / 1310 posts

@Kbee: I do not understand the "full of energy" expectation either. I am more productive than I was earlier in the pregnancy, but I still need a nap almost every day.

I've had lots of heartburn as well and take lots of tums.

I still get (mostly mild) nausea off and on. Anyone else? And strong movements from the baby seem to increase it. Irritating my already upset stomach, I suppose.

    @Kbee: So, so tired lately!
@Iced Tea: YES! This morning I bent over and thought I was going to puke. It's been off and on all day.
@maddyz: There's not place like home! I can't figure out what's giving me heartburn this time. Last time it was EVERYTHING. Seriously, drinking water gave me hb. I survived (barely) by taking Pepcid AC.

  21. HeartAbandoned

    clementine / 933 posts

I take Tums almost every day, too. Luckily over the last week or so the heartburn seems to have calmed down a little bit, but I'm not counting on that lasting!

Anyone else starting to get swelling in their hands and feet? My feet seem to swell during the day (So I try to keep my feet up at work as much as I can - luckily my desk job means I can!). My hands swell at night, though, which I think is interesting. I've started taking my rings off at night, because when I wake up to go to the bathroom and I still have my rings on, it's hard to take them off!

  22. Iced Tea

    persimmon / 1310 posts

@HeartAbandoned: If I'm on my feet for many hours, my feet swell a little. Nothing serious yet. One day last week I spent a couple of hours vigorously cleaning house. That earned me swollen ankles.

  23. maddyz

    persimmon / 1270 posts

@icedtea even before being pregnant I would wear light compression socks if I was going to be on my feet all day for work (sometimes I have 10 to 12 hours standing) and they are amazing! I've been using them now for shorter times and they help so much.

  24. loopedd

    kiwi / 536 posts

@Kbee: OMG YES on the exhaustion! Sometimes I feel like I'm back in the first tri! I wonder if it's related to the fact that baby has been kicking like CRAZY this week. Like, going insane! Of course I love that, but I wonder if he's going through a growth spurt that's zapping my energy. Best part is the DH can definitely feel him from the outside now and he's like, "How on earth can you sleep through that?!" Haha, I can't!

I haven't noticed swelling yet, but heartburn does pop up more often now. My new thing is crazy pressure and soreness in my lower pelvis. I had a flashback to a coworker saying to me years ago, "No one ever tells you that when you're pregnant, your vagina can hurt all the time!!"

  25. Mrs. Lion

    blogger / grapefruit / 4836 posts

Ugh sorry younladies arent feeling well! Im gonna take that as an indication that i should enjoy the last of the 2nd tri bliss. I had pretty had heartburn with lo1, so i definitely stocked up on tums. I have actually been feeling really great the last couple weeks, but im sure it will only last so long. I am so ready to meet this little girl!

Is anyone else really struggling with picking a name?? I dont know what we are going to do!

  26. Kbee

@Iced Tea: @HeartAbandoned: @loopedd: So sorry all of you are feeling the exhaustion and the heartburn too. I have a feeling the exhaustion will only get worse as we get bigger...

@loopedd: Yes! Baby has been kicking all.the.time., like CRAZY. And at night too, it actually kept me awake last night, and woke up me up at times. I was thinking to myself, "how can he possibly be moving that much for that long??"

@Mrs. Lion: We are definitely struggling with a name too. It's hard! DH and I don't agree on our favorites. One of our favorite names, Nathan, won't really work because our last name starts with N. Too many N's. So back to the drawing board...

  27. Kbee

@loopedd: Oh, and I agree. No one ever told me that your vagina can hurt all the time. But it does, at least for me. And REAL bad after a lot of activity or standing. So sorry you're feeling it as well. I tell myself I need to be active anyways, and actually just bought a maternity belt/girdle from Amazon at the recommendation of my midwife. Should be here tomorrow! How many more weeks?

@Mrs. Lion: I'm so stuck on a name and it's starting to stress me out. I think I completely lucked out with my daughter's name, because I picked it so early on and it was just perfect (for us). Now, nothing sounds right for this one. I have a strong feeling she may be named after she's born. AH!

I'm on my phone so its annoying to reply individually..
Add me to the list of heartburn! I got it bad in my first pregnancy as well. Everyone told me that means the baby will have lots of hair and b did have a full head of long (ish) hair! So now I just try to picture my baby coming with lots of hair again haha. I'm downing tums all the time!

My feet were starting to get really swollen by the second half of my shift. I went and got the compression stockings (20-30mmhg) and they make a world of difference. Not super comfy but definately help with the swelling.
We have a name, it was actually quite easy this time. I don't love it but I'm sure it'll grow, the same was with b.

@MrsB2012: Glad you passed the GD test! I hope the iron helps you with energy, so far it's done nothing for me!

@HeartAbandoned: Haven't noticed it in my hands, but I did notice my feet were a bit swollen. I didn't even realize until I went to put on my boots and I could barely get my feet in them!

I'm so sorry for all you ladies with heartburn, sounds awful! I've been fortunate not to have any, but instead my back has been so sore. There is not a single position sitting, standing or laying down that relieves it. I'm going to yoga tomorrow and I hope it helps.

I have mostly noticed swelling in my hands. Sometimes if I'm been walking a lot I will notice it in my legs, but not often. I also have a bit of carpel tunnel in my wrists/thumbs, which I had last time, but not until later.

i'm joining in to see if anyone else shares my weird issue. When I sneeze or cough or shift position awkwardly or quickly, I have a pretty intense pain that stops me in my tracks, It feels like I'm almost ripping an ab muscle. Happens semi often and I'm happy to have an appointment on Tuesday to get to the bottom of it....along with my GD test

  33. loopedd

    kiwi / 536 posts

@Beanie132: It doesn't happen super often, but every once in a while when I change position (ie standing up after sitting a long time, getting out of bed), I get really sharp/crampy lower abdomen muscle pains that I have to breathe through for a minute. I dismiss it as another weird thing, but I'd love to hear what your doc says!

  36. Mrs. Lion

@Beanie132: this happens to me too, and it did last pregnancy as well. I think it is round ligament pain. The ligaments are like rubber bands, and when youre pregnant they get stretched out...so lots of walking or sudden movements can make them pull even tighter and it hurts!! I think its normal...but let us know what your dr says!

I had my 8th progesterone shot yesterday and the nurse at my office discovered a numbing topical cream that she asked my dr to perscribe to me! It was like a miracle drug! I had almost no pain afterward this time. SO exciting!!

  37. Beanie132

    cherry / 102 posts

@Mrs. Lion: so here is my lack of knowledge shining through , I thought it could have been that but I also assumed that the round ligament pain would be more closely associated with the lady regions, lol. We shall see!

  38. Beanie132

    cherry / 102 posts

I did more research and I'm self diagnosing it along with Mrs. Lion's help as round ligament pain! Thanks ladies!

Wow! Looks like I'm missed a lot around here the past 2 days!

I am also having heartburn/reflux! It's not the worst thing in the world as long as I carry tums with me at all times. It'll come up a couple of random times during the day, but it's ALWAYS as I'm laying down to go to sleep for the night. I have a bottle of tums that lives next to the bed and one that lives in my purse.

I am having some lower abdominal pain when I walk for awhile or am on my feet for a long time. It's not severe by any means, just kind of feels sore and like I need to take a break and rest.

Just checking in...haven't been able to past week. I was in the ER all day tuesday I had shortness of breath ( even while standing/sitting) that had a burning sensation almost like if you went running in the cold. I called my OB and the said to go to the ER could be a serious lung issue - they didnt think it was the baby because im only 26 weeks. Anyway....they needed to rule out a blood clot in my lung and I had to have a CT scan. Drs reassured me the radiation would be okay but I cant stop feeling so guilty! Everything turned out fine...couldn't find anything so they just said maybe it is the way she is laying.

Anyway I just hope the radiation was okay...they obviously protected my stomach and only did a CT scan on my chest but i cant stop freaking out Just had to vent because I know you mammas would understand
