    @Mrs. Lion: wonderful news!
@mtex14: renovating is a big task to take on while pregnant! Sorry to hear about the pressure. I've had pressure for a while, it's very uncomfortable so I know how you feel!
@mrs. tictactoe: yay for passing the test! That's great!

Had an appointment with the midwife today and my iron and glucose tests came back great!

And on another note... I feel like I'm about to have a massive pregnancy meltdown. I am so stressed out at work, and my outside-of-work responsibilities are also very stressful right now. I am in pain from the time I get up in the morning to the time I lay down at night. All I want to do is just go home, get it bed, and cry. Just writing this is making me tear up so I'm stopping now.

@mtex14: I feel your pain on the house rennovation. We just did one ourselves this summer and it was so exhausting!!

@Circusbee: pregnancy meltdowns are totally jormal. Let it all out...I always feel a million times better after an ugly cry

Congrats to everyone on the glucose tests! I never heard from my ob so I'm assuming mine was fine too!

Baby girl is still breech. Her head is way up by my ribs and her feet are waaaaay low. That explains the really weird cervix kicks. Lo never flipped last time and I'm not holding out much hope for her either. I have a heart shaped uterus, which makes it harder for them to flip. Mentally preparing for another c-section...which, if I'm being honest, is way less scary to me than a vbac.

@Circusbee: Ugh, I'm so sorry. I'm also very stressed. Let's cry together.

@Mrs. Lion: That's great about the heart news! I bet you are so relieved to hear good news.

@Circusbee: So sorry you're having a rough time. I agree with Mrs. Lion, cry it out, and hang in there

    @mrs. tictactoe: Hooray for passing!!

@mtex14: We're doing a bit of renovating too, so I totally understand. It's overwhelming to think how all of it will get done in the next 5 weeks (our deadline we gave ourselves), but we're going to try!

Is it possible to tell baby's position just by kicks and movement at 30 weeks? I feel like I'm pretty sure he's head down, just based on where I feel frequent and strongest movements (including lots of strong ones up into my ribs that are super uncomfortable). I have an appointment on Thursday with my midwife, wonder if they can tell without a scan?

@Kbee: I think some providers can tell just by feeling your belly, but at my last appointment when I asked, she just brought in the ultrasound machine and used that. I was always wrong when I thought Liam was head up or head down. I could never tell.

@Mrs. Lion: What a relief that your specialist appointment went well!

@mrs. tictactoe: Yay for passing the glucose test!

@Circusbee: I'm sorry. I feel you with the pain. Some days my back hurts so much and there is just no way to relieve the pain other than to be asleep. I hope you can get some relief soon.

@Kbee: I'm glad you asked that question, I was wondering the same thing! I have no idea where the baby is facing, I feel movement all over the place.

@Circusbee: Meltdowns are all part of pregnancy, just let it out I found I was really hormonal in my last pregnancy, I had a meltdown like once a week haha. I always contributed it to a growth spurt or something big happening with the baby and just messing my hormones up. Hope you feel better soon

@Kbee: I could tell that my baby flipped head down last week or so because I can feel the hiccups down there now. All the dr's I've been to can always tell the position by feeling. I think I remember one telling me that the head feels hard and the bum feels soft so that's how you can distinguish between the two of those? I had an appt today and as soon as she touched my belly she was like "Oh, there's the head", and then she felt around and and was like "here's a foot" haha. She said that the baby had it's back with my back so the hands and feet were sticking out towards my stomach.

I got my note so I'm officially done work this Friday. I just can't keep up with my long days. My swelling 'down there' is just getting out of hand so being on my feet so long is really making it worse. I know they say it will all go back to normal after the baby comes, and it did last time, but man, I'm worried that I'll never be the same haha.

@Circusbee: I'll cry with you too! I had a mini cry last night...my back hurts, will I ever lose all.this.weight?!...and really it's not that much weight but feels like it since my back kills! My house won't clean itself, nor will the thank you notes write themselves. Work is long hours and stressful. I don't have time to eat healthy, when will I have the energy to nest?! The list goes on... The worst part is when I feel guilty for having these feelings because I still have 8 weeks left.

Sorry mama, not trying to steal your thunder, but rather commiserate with you

Count me in on the crying/meltdowns. I had a total PMS day (the kind of day where you just pig out on Oreos, pizza, and milkshakes). My husband and I were supposed to have a date night that was supposed to start off with a 3D/4D ultrasound. We haven't been out on a date, just the two of us, since July, so I was REALLY looking forward to going with him, seeing our baby, and out to dinner and a movie. Well, he had to work late tonight instead of getting off early, so the baby sitter and appointment got cancelled Cue lots of tears and lots of eating. I'm sure we can reschedule it, but it's just taken forever to pin down tonight as a good night to go out...boo. Lol the baby is NOT a fan of the food I've eaten today. I've had wicked heartburn that won't go away.

@MrsB2012: Oh neat! Well hopefully I'll get some news about baby's position on Thursday. So glad to hear that you have some relief coming soon in the form of not being on your feet so long. I feel the pain that all of you are describing for sure, especially on days when I'm very active. Thankfully my job, for the most part, is just a bunch of sitting. We have adjustable standing desks actually, but I obviously haven't been using that!

My newest complaint is insomnia. I fall asleep fine, but I wake up at 5 or 6am just completely awake and can't go back to sleep. WHY?!

  12. Circusbee

    apricot / 390 posts

The insomnia started last night for me I'm usually such an easy sleeper, I usually fall asleep very quickly and sleep until my alarm with no problem, but today I woke up around 4am and could not get back to sleep. And that was after waking up 3 or 4 times already! UGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

@Kbee: @Circusbee: @MrsB2012: that stinks about the insomnia. I wake up a lot now but fortunately I've been able to fall back asleep. I'm sure my time is coming though!

I also got a new pregnancy symptom last night, heartburn. I thought I'd escaped it but nope. Luckily my husband was awesome and walked to rite aid at midnight to get me tums.

ladies i have a daycare conondrum to run by you for some thoughts. we visited two places already and liked one enough to put a deposit down to hold a spot. our neighbor did the same for the baby who was born three weeks ago. now they find the center may not have a spot and are scrambling. did any of you put deposits at more than one place? i'm just concerned we may get stuck in the same position, but i also don't want to fork up money i won't be getting back in case the first place is easy sailing for us. fun times!

@mrs. tictactoe: Congrats on passing the GD test! I am hoping no news is good news... I may call today and see if my results are back though.

@Circusbee: It sucks that we are all in the same boat, but it does make me feel better to know that I'm not the only one! This last week has been awful. I've had two massages that help immensely with the sciatica but the relief is gone when I wake up the next morning. I feel so debilitated and helpless. I've been working from home a bunch, which is great, but I'm also feeling guilty about it even though no one, including my boss (the only one who matters), is making me feel that way -- in fact everyone is super supportive. I have no idea how I will make it another 11 weeks... Thanks for opening up the space to vent though!

@Beanie132: Are you in a very competitive area for good daycares? Ie. If you didn't get your first choice even with the deposit do you feel like there are other decent options? We can't even put a deposit down at our first choice until baby is born, so I'm not much help...

@loopedd: Yeah it's nice to know I'm not the only one, too! I went to my yoga class last week and the instructor helped me with the specific pain I'm having. It immediately felt better and I left feeling great, and by the time I got out of my car after the 8 minute drive home, it hurt again! I may talk to my boss about working from home more often. It's definitely not the most convenient way to do my job, but I could probably swing it a couple days a week, even if it's only the 2nd half of the day I spend at home.

@Circusbee: What kind of pain are you having? Have you looked into pt?

  20. loopedd

    kiwi / 536 posts

@Circusbee: Yeah def ask about working from home -- even a little time where you can be more comfortable will help! I was going to ask same as @Mrs Lion: about PT. I have a consult this afternoon and hoping they show me some exercises I can do throughout the day in between appointments. I certainly can't afford to have the massage therapist follow me around!

Baby girl is crazy active today but every kick is either my bladder or cervix. None of them are anywhere near my belly. It's like she is tap dancing on my internal organs! Is this a breech baby thing?

@Kbee: I asked my dr yesterday if there is any way to tell position based on movement and he said not really...but I dunno. It seems like eventually it will be obvious! Once I was further into the 3rd trimester with LO I always knew where his butt and head were because they were constantly pushing out. This time it is hard to know where anything is. Except her feet. I know right where they are! Haha

  22. Mrs. Lion

    blogger / grapefruit / 4836 posts

@loopedd: Mine discovered that my pelvis was out of alignment, so he fixed that, then did massage and then showed me exercises. As long as my pelvis stays in alignment the exercises help a lot. If it shifts back the exercises make it so so much worse. I went without pt for like a Month and I guess during that time it shifted back and got really bad. I went back and was better again after just 2 appointments. It's crazy how quickly it works!

  24. Circusbee

@Mrs. Lion: @loopedd: The worst pain is my front, side and back area surrounding my ribs. I seem to have (at least temporarily) solved my lower back pain problem by wearing the support band, luckily, but the ribs are worse than that anyway. I haven't thought about PT really. I've never seen one for anything before so it's just very foreign to me. Of course I forgot to ask the midwife about this yesterday... maybe she would have suggested that. I might call a little later this week and ask. The other problem is that I have no idea when I'd find the time to fit in another appointment to go to!

  25. Mrs. Lion

    blogger / grapefruit / 4836 posts

@loopedd: Seriously. When it's bad I am in so much pain it makes me cry. And then i go to pt and a couple days later it is just gone. It's insane! I hope it helps you too!

@Beanie132: i have never heard of a center taking a deposit and then turning someone down - isn't that the whole POINT of the deposit?? geez. Every daycare contract I've signed says unequivocally that once they receive the deposit and agreement, that your child's spot is saved. Did this happen to your neighbor at the same center that you would like to put a deposit at, or a different one?

  27. Mrs. Lion

@Circusbee: That sounds totally different Han what I have I wouldn't have gone to pt if my OB hadnt suggested it. I hope your mw has some good suggestions! That sounds awful!

@Circusbee: I totally hear you about adding ANOTHER appointment to our packed doc's schedules. That's why I'm so hopeful this works because I'm leaving work early... AGAIN.... ugh. I've also never done PT before but it was the only suggestion my OB had for relief.

I finally got my extra ultrasound today. Everything looked good. The sonographer was still really quick, but I got a couple of better pictures this time. I asked her to look for hair, and she said it looks like baby has lots. Surprisingly, I will get another ultrasound in 3 weeks because baby measured on the small side at 25th percentile.

@Iced Tea: hurray for an extra look at the baby! And that's awesome about the hair! Lol my first was born bald, so i'm curious if this one will have any hair!

So I finally, FINALLY, busted out the maternity belt today and actually wore it. I'm pretty sure it helped, because I could walk around without being in pain. I woke up this morning and it felt like she had dropped (too early for that, right?) or like she gained 5 pounds over night. There was just so much pressure. The belt helped, but I need to figure out how to wear it better next time. I may have had it too low? It kept hitting my legs, which was awkward while walking.

@Iced Tea: Ohh I had no idea you could look for hair!! I'm def going to ask at my u/s next week. I love that you get another one too… I'd take all the pics I can get!

@Mrs. Rabbit: Arrggh I keep forgetting to buy the belt and now you've convinced me that I have to do that tomorrow!! I would love some painless walking. Is it too early for her to drop? How many weeks are you now??

  36. Mrs. Rabbit

    blogger / clementine / 750 posts

@loopedd: I'll be 32 weeks on Saturday...no idea when they start moving on down. I should look it up, but I'm in denial that this is moving so quickly, so I probably won't look into it quite yet!

  37. loopedd

    kiwi / 536 posts

@Mrs. Rabbit: I hear ya! But 32 sounds plausible to me

  38. Mrs. Lion

    blogger / grapefruit / 4836 posts

Ah! We are getting so close!!

So if your first baby was breech and came 5 weeks early (requiring an immediate c-section to deliver), at what point would you feel safe a couple hours away traveling by car? My progesterone shots stop at 36 weeks and my ob predicts 38 weeks for when I will go into labor. But baby is breech still which means another c-section if i go into labor before she flips. I'm scared to death that I will end up having an emergency c-section without my doctor in some little dinky rural hospital.

Im thinking about cutting off travel at 30 weeks, but I'm worried about my dad being alone for two months because I can't go visit.

  39. Mrs. Rabbit

    blogger / clementine / 750 posts

@Mrs. Lion: How far along are you now and when's your next appointment? Any chance you can persuade your dad to come visit you for a little bit between those two months? Could be good for him to get out a bit? (I forget how far you are from him). I was just in the car for around 4 hours last weekend (31 weeks) and I was SUPER sore that night and the next day...and that's with stopping twice to get out and stretch (and pee). Just keep that in mind in case you do go visit him!

  40. Mrs. Rabbit

    blogger / clementine / 750 posts

@loopedd: So i just looked it up, and apparently when the baby drops, it's also called "lightening" since you end up having more room and you feel "lighter," because the baby is lower. That's not what i'm feeling at all, so now I'm thinking she's just in a totally weird position and it's putting pressure on different parts of my body.
