Shoo, getting contractions every 2-3 min. Manageable so far. Starving though... Apparently I only have orders for ice chips and no doctor is due in until after 12pm to change them. That blows!

@78h2o: good luck!! Hoping your induction goes well. She'll be here in no time and will join us early June moms and babies soon.

@78h2o: when I had J, the l & d nurses were joking about a girl requesting chocolate during her induction, but couldn't because of clear diet orders. Husband got me a 3 Musketeers while driving home from almost going to the hospital the first time.

I feel a little gross, but I'm not sure if it's due to not having eaten, the meds, or my cold.
I'm kind of annoyed the pit is already at 10. Was hoping to keep it super low for longer. The contractions are coming every 2-3 min though, so hopefully they are working.

@78h2o: sorry you are feeling so gross! I am sure not eating on top of the meds and cold doesn't help! Hang in there! Sounds like you are doing good so far!

The doctor came in and I was at 4 and 80%. I let her break my water, so looks like we will have a baby soon no matter what..:no going back! Haven't decided yet about the epidural...they seem really perplexed by my indecision about it. I know I'll probably cave, but for now I'm just going to see how long I can cope without it.

@78h2o: I was on the fence too until that contraction went from a 4/10 on the pain scale to 8/10 within minutes of her breaking my water!

Yeah, they are definitely more intense! Still can't decide!

I had them check me and I still had far to go, so I went ahead with the epidural as the contractions were coming every minute and getting super rough. It worked a tiny bit, but mostly was a fail. The anesthesiologist decided to take it out and try it again. The second one is working on one side, so I'm going with it.

Baby arrived at 6:17! She was 8 lbs 5 oz, 21.5". She was sunny side up until the end and had a huge head, so it ended up taking an hour to push her out. I had to have a small episiotomy to the side to prevent a 4th degree tear. Oh, and no epidural for the last 1.5! So much for second birth being easier (well the beginning was easier), but she had a great Apgar and she's perfect in every way! I'm moving to another room now and will post a pic once we settle in! Thanks for the well wishes!
