Please note there are a few changes from this first draft- I change *all to *on. And the bottom block of dots is spaced more evenly- and reaches the border of the blue. Also the blue blocks were added to cover the address and my phone number.
What do you think?

@cheert16: I think it looks great!
@shopaholic: I think bow ties would be perfect for the boys. I love a little bow tie.
@photojane: Good luck with Sadie's party. I hope she has a great time!
@travellingbee: Our party is April 6th

@cheert16: Our party is at a rented Clubhouse. I've bought a ball pit, balls, and a tunnel for the littles to play in I think I'll also bring the tiny slide and a play tent, along with some toys. All the parties we've gone to had a big toy/mat area at least. If we had an outdoor space, I'd rent a bouncer house.
Thanks @Smurfette: for the link. I might get capes or something and put some feathers on for the boys. IDK, we'll see.
Our party is on Mar. 1st. Coming up fast!

@shopaholic: Ugh.. so sorry about the photographer! Maybe you could ask her to recommend some other photographers in the area. Most photogs have a network of peers that they recommend! And, what about masks for the boys?! Little boys love masks, and it would be super easy to find them now that all of the mardi gras stuff is out in stores.
@Smurfette: haha... dang, no windex. But we do have clorox wipes... do you think that would work?
@cheert16: Sadie's party is at my parents' church. I have a few different things for the kids to do, but tried not to go over the top, since I don't want to be lugging a ton of stuff over there. I have little wooden lady bug masks to color and ladybug coloring sheets. I'm also bringing little heart wands, bubbles, balls, and balloons for the kids to play with. I think that should be plenty!
@AprilFool: Thanks... I think she will! As long as she gets her nap first!
Is anyone doing a doljabi game or something similar? We're doing a spinoff, but the same basic idea. It's one of the things I'm most excited about. Dan & I both already have guesses about what she'll pick.

@photojane: I thought about it but I wasn't sure how to do it. I think it would be fun though!
bananas / 9973 posts
@photojane: She was pretty new to the area (like 8 months), which is why her prices were sooo reasonable.
I want to do a Doljabi kind of game too!

@Smurfette: @shopaholic: I just picked some cool things she could be when she grows up, and then picked little items that would represent them. We're putting a sign up when you first walk in with instructions. We'll have mason jars with labels on them & tickets for voting. We'll sit the items (toy camera, paint brush, golf ball, etc.) around on the table too, so everyone can see them. We have a prize for the winner, which should be fun. Here's the sign I made...

@photojane: That is SO cute! In most Asian parties I've been to - they push the same careers: Doctor, Teacher, something with $$$, and maybe a golfball. lol I love how you have more artistic options for Sadie!
I know if I put ANY kind of stick (like pencil or paintbrush) that's what K would go for. Thanks for the idea on the write-up!

@photojane: I've never heard of this! Cute!
Just thought I'd mention that Oriental trading has lots of first birthday supplies:

@travellingbee: Ours is March 2nd.
We're not planning on any scheduled activities. We'll only have 5 kids though, so they can just keep themselves entertained, haha.
@cheert16: Your invite is so cute!!
@photojane: We weren't planning on doing a Doljabi kind of game, though I think it would be fun!! And I LOVE the sign you did!! So cute!!!

@photojane: Have I mentioned how much I love seeing my art used? You'll have to send me pictures

@photojane: That is so cute! I will have to talk to DH about stealing that idea.

@photojane: That is awesome! I forgot about doing something like this. I may totally have to steal that idea too!!

@photojane: So how did it go?? Hopefully Sadie took that nap and it was a great time for everyone!

@photojane: Looks like Sadie had a wonderful 1st birthday party! Hope you'll share some pics! Maybe we need to make this thread Gold if people want to share pics?
I've spent the day ordering things online for the party and continuing making tutus. Which at this point I am now hating. lol
I'm also having issues now figuring out the food. We have at least 60 people to feed (well, maybe 1/3 of that are kids) and our go-to taco guy is not allowed to cook outside the clubhouse. Catering options are looking really expensive. DH is all for Costco pizza at this point!
I also managed to work out a day to take cake smash/1yr photos with our photog before she moves - this Thursday! I'm SO not ready! I have no idea what to even dress K in. I wanted to make a bunch of stuff….
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: The last kid's birthday party I went to had pizza, which was a huge hit! I think that's a very good option for you! I'm planning on making a bunch of sandwiches, but I also only have 20-30 people coming!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: Just dress in a tutu! No sense in an outfit when she is going to just get cake all over it. Maybe do some pearls to dress it up.
I think pizza is fine. Have you looked into a local Mexican restaurant catering? Or BBQ? They usually will deliver and set up. You just might have to buy the Sterno kits, but they work great. When we have ordered BBQ for parties they always include them.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@shopaholic, ain't nothing wrong with Costco pizza and cake! I mean, for reals! They have good pizza!
I've found that italian catering is usually the cheapest, though. Pastas, chicken parm, etc. I've always had good luck that way!
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: I found the best reviewed (as in tasty and cheap) is minimum $10.00 per person for BBQ with only 1 meat option. Goes up $3 per meat option per person!
@blackbird: Ooh! Thanks for that idea! I will call Bucca de Beppo to see prices!
@Adira: Thanks! It might just be what's going down at this rate! lol!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: Wow!! We have never had to pay per person. Buy the meat by the pound and then sides. Did you try a Moes/Chipotle/Qdoba Mexican place?
And Costco pizza is good!!
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: Yeah - Chipotle is about $10/pp too. And you have to go pick up trays yourself.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@blackbird: So I got the Ralph Lauren shirt yesterday. It was even on clearance! It is pretty see through so I will wear a cami underneath it but that works, cause it will help hold in my gut!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@smurfette, woohoo glad it was on sale! Psh there will be lots of photos, i'm all about tucked in camis and spanx
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@blackbird: Of course now I see at Loft, they have a cute sweater, ivory with black stars. Which would be a little dressier but it is $60 and not on sale....
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
eh, you'll get more wear out of a t-shirt than a sweater, anyways!

@Smurfette: So cute that you are matching the theme!
I spent my weekend cutting out circles for a caterpillar banner, and working fondant to make a cake topper- here is my inspiration pic!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@cheert16: I think DH thinks I am crazy. I told him he had to wear a pink shirt. That topper is too cute. Post pictures of yours! I hear you on the cutting. I finished up my stars last night. I better not need more.
nectarine / 2631 posts
@Smurfette: I am going to make DH wear green, and hopefully I can find something cute and green to wear too- although I may have looked up adult hungry caterpillar clothing....I might buy myself a cute headband or bow to put with hungry caterpillar stuff on it!

@cheert16: I like #2 but don't like the grey. So I am going to vote #3!
nectarine / 2591 posts
@cheert16: Another vote for #2
Planning has actually got underway! I am collecting addresses and starting to make a trillion pom poms.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Oh man, I missed a bunch of these!
@cheert16: Did you end up getting a shirt? #3 is similar to the shirt I got Xander, so I like that one, but I also like #2! And I love that cake!!!!! I'll be sooo impressed if you pull it off!
@Mrs. High Heels: J's birthday is almost upon us!! Are you ready???
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
So I got all these awesome printables to make labels for water bottles, mini Hershey's, and other things, and the double-sided tape I used isn't holding!!!! All the labels keep coming off!!! Gahhhhhh!!!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Try these! They come in different "heaviness" Or break out the glue gun. I would think the glue gun would be easier anyway! But I have used the dots for tons of things.

@Adira: Question, are the water bottle lables water proof? I was thinking about doing some but then how to do keep them from coming off in the cooler. I want the water cold. I am not a fan of room temp water.
