@Adira: @Smurfette: I made my own water bottle labels- I have used the waterproof ones before and didn't love them- so I am labeling like 10-15 bottles (at room temp) and leaving the rest as is. I made the labels on my computer and will use packing tape to attach them - right over the label leave tails and onto the bottle!

@Adira: I got shirt #2! That's the one DH liked the best. I will post a picture of the cake topper this weekend! I think its looking pretty good so far!

@Smurfette: Thanks for the suggestion! And unfortunately, the labels I have are NOT water proof and I'm going to have room-temp water, haha. Oh well.
@cheert16: I was actually thinking of using packing tape! I ordered some "Super Tacky Tape" I'm going to try and if that doesn't work and I have time, I'll try glue dots, and then if THAT doesn't work, packing tape it will be!

@Adira: Haha! That is a process! I keep seeing robot things everywhere and always think of Z's party!
@QueensBee: That's the one I got!

@cheert16: Yay robots!!!! I can't wait for his party!!! Although there's still sooooo much to do!

Does anyone else have lots of family that will be staying with you? It's kind of stressing me out because we have a tiny house, and will have 4 people staying at our house, plus lots of out of town family that will be in hotels but will be coming over for dinners, etc. for the days around the party. I know this is terrible, but I just wish everyone would get a hotel and agree to meet there/eat out, so I could have my house free to work on stuff and get ready for the actual party. I know I'm being a brat, and I should just be thankful that we have so many family members that love our boys and want to celebrate with them. I need to learn to control my inner-snark more...

@photojane: Your doljabi sign is so cute! I have this really cute one from etsy that is in my inspiration stuff, but I haven't made one yet. I'm going to have to work some kind of explanation into mine, too, so I might steal part of your wording!

@shopaholic: Eeeeeh, because of you I ended up ordering some prints from Prinstagram and they just shipped!!!! I'm so excited!!!!
@Mrs. Blue: Yikes! Thankfully everyone that is coming to Xander's party is fairly local (the furthest is 2 hours away, but they don't plan to stay with us), so I don't have to deal with this issue. I definitely would NOT want people staying with us though because I plan to be BUSY every day leading up to the party getting stuff done!!! I'm so sorry!!! I would feel the same way as you!

@Adira: How Long does prinstagram take? I am trying to figure out when I should do an order and if I can fit her 11th month in. Haha
@Mrs. Blue: We only have one of my BFFs coming from out of town and she will be staying with us. That actually makes me happy because I miss her and she will be a big help for us!!
I need invite wording help!

Sausage sizzle provided. BBQ available if you would like to bring something else. <--- This is the bit I am unsure of. Is there is nicer way to word this? Is it even necessary?

@Adira: Jealous. Our closest relative (minus one of DH's aunts) lives 4 hours away. So our guests range from 4 hours to literally half way across the country.
@AprilFool: I guess I'm not sure what that means. Do you just mean if they don't want sausage, they can bring a different meat and use the grill? I think I'm confused because here we usually say BBQ to mean the actual type of food, as opposed to a BBQ grill, but that's probably a geographic thing. I might say something like, "Sausage will be sizzling on the BBQ, but if you prefer to bring an alternative, we'll be happy to share the grill." or something like that. Not sure how much room you have on the invite.

@Mrs. Blue: DH is going to tell his Dad and Step-Mom they can stay with us. I would prefer they don't but I am going to leave that up to them. If his sister and family come, they will have to stay in a hotel, so I am sure FIL and SMIL will too cause they will pay for it.
And I don't blame you at all. I would want everyone gone so I can set up. I am hoping DH and I get all the decorating done, except balloons on Friday. I am having my Mom come over early to help with R so we can get stuff done and you know shower!
@Mrs. Blue: I stole @photojane: wording too!
@AprilFool: I was confused like Mrs. Blue but I like her wording if that is what you mean!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@AprilFool: I think most prints claim to take 4-10 days. I placed my order on Thursday and they shipped yesterday I think. Supposedly they should arrive tomorrow! We shall see!
So I had to look up "sausage sizzle" because that sounded like a pretty specific term that must mean something (seems like an Australian thing?) Assuming you're in Australia or people in your area know what "sausage sizzle" means, you could probably keep that and reword it to say: "Sausage sizzle provided and grill available for any other items you bring!" or something like that?
@Mrs. Blue: Yikes - that sucks. Is there any way you can tell people you really don't have the room to house guests??
nectarine / 2591 posts
@Adira: @Mrs. Blue: @Smurfette: Haha sorry! Yes it's an Australian thing. It just means a sausage on the grill (which we call a BBQ) usually with bread. Your wording is great... that is exactly what I was looking for.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@AprilFool: Sorry! Dumb Americans! In that case, I would say something like, "Sausage sizzle provided, but if you prefer to bring an alternative, we'll be happy to share the BBQ."
ETA: Now I really want to attend a sausage sizzle. @Adira: @Smurfette: You guys in for a Sausage Sizzle Bee Meetup?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. Blue: @Smurfette: I'm totally in for a Sausage Sizzle and I think we should do it at @AprilFool:'s place because I always wanted to visit Australia!

So...I'm a planning drop out, but we had B's party this weekend and the balloon theme went really well. I pretty much did everything the night before; I guess that's what happens with the second child, but he had a great time so that's all that really matters.
Let me see if I can attach a picture...

@Mrs. Blue: @Adira: you said the magic word..... Sausage!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Baby Boy Mom: Ooooh, love it!!!! That big 1 looks awesome!!! And I think using balloons as your decoration is great! Now that I'm thinking about it, besides the printables I have to label stuff, I really don't have a lot of decorations myself, haha. Oh well. So glad B had a good time at his party!!!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Adira: Seconded. Like 99% of Americans, I'm obsessed with Australia and Aussies. They're just so much cooler than we are. It's on my top 5 places to visit list. @AprilFool: Can we crash the party? Pleeeaase!
nectarine / 2591 posts
@Mrs. Blue: @Adira: I will send you an invite for H's birthday! We *love* a good sausage sizzle over here
That wording is perfect! Thanks
@Baby Boy Mom: Super cute!
pomegranate / 3983 posts
@Adira: The big 1 was actually our piñata! So it was functional decor...We also just had a bunch of balloons on the floor for the babies to play with and that was a big hit, so I'm sure that's something you could incorporate.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Baby Boy Mom: LOVE the 1! Did you buy that or make it? I have no interest in adding another project to my list, but that looks so cute that I could be tempted to purchase one. I'm glad B had fun! My next child is probably going to be lucky to get a cake.
ETA: Just saw that it's a pinata! Great idea.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Baby Boy Mom: How many kids were at your party? That's so cool that the 1 was a pinata!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@AprilFool: By the way, I just double-checked Prinstagram and they do ship internationally and claim it takes 4-10 business days to ship anywhere, so I'd give yourself at least 10 days before the party to place your order and then you should be fine!
pomegranate / 3983 posts
@AprilFool: @Smurfette: thanks!
@Mrs. Blue: I bought it. It was about 5 US dollars...one of the perks to living here...

@AprilFool: I wanna go to a sausage sizzle- that's sounds delish right now.
pomegranate / 3983 posts
@Adira: just a couple babies and a couple toddlers...which is why I didn't really plan "activities" other than food, piñata and some coloring pages.

@Baby Boy Mom: I love the big 1 too!
Haha I am starting to feel like I am a planning drop out too - I had really huge ideas and now I'm starting to freak out that I haven't really done anything and it's this Sat. Oh well.
I did hang up a clothesline and start hanging tissue poms (but I am realizing I will need to make a gazillion more if I want it to look how I envisioned)
I have the day off tomorrow for Liam's actual birthday and I may try to squeeze in a tiny bit of time for party projects too

@Baby Boy Mom: I just added a piñata to my amazon account this morning- did you actually put candy in it and do te whole smashing thing? Or was it just decoration?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Baby Boy Mom: You're doing more than me! Our party will have 6 kids (ranges 1-8) and I have ZERO activities planned!!!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Baby Boy Mom: Even better. Here in Texas, I'm pretty sure if I go to the right part of town, I could score a pretty cheap pinata, too!
nectarine / 2591 posts
@cheert16: The more the merrier!
@dojo: I am going to be making tissue poms for the next month straight so I feel your pain!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@dojo: I have ZERO activities. Most of our guests are 50+, so I'm counting "Cake" as an activity!
persimmon / 1223 posts
@AprilFool: hahaha I know - I made about 10 and I was feeling pretty awesome about myself. Then I hung them up and I realized I need a whole lot more for my pinterest aspirations.
nectarine / 2591 posts
@dojo: I am counting on the playground at the park being an activity! I have zero idea on activities.... especially for older kids.
Pintrest really has a lot to answer for! I have about 10 so far too.... only need a trillion more. Haha
