WE GOT OUR PICTURES!! (for those that haven't seen yet)!

I don't want our announcement to get leaked before we're ready (waiting for the 5th) so I made a gold thread with it on it....

@fussygal: I take prescription pre-natals, I thought that was the norm if you see an OB??

  3. ChattyCathy

@runsyellowlites: your photos look so awesome! Your family is beautiful!

So I am an idiot. I was starving before I went to bed but wasn't feeling morning sickness and was scared. So when I woke up today (more starving obviously) I waited until I started feeling sick, so make sure my morning sickness didn't leave. And now I'm feaking sick as a dog.... I ate a peanut butter sandwich and still feel crappy. Why do I do dumb things?

  4. MamaChin

    clementine / 830 posts

@chattycathy: I went to bed hungry too. I just have no desire to eat and then I feel terrible. Now I'm freezing because I probably didn't eat enough, but I just have no appetit. Everything I smell makes me sick, I almost hurled rinsing out LO's bottle!

  5. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

@MamaChin: awww I can't imagine what you moms are going through. I can hardly take care of myself right now.

  6. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@MamaChin: they may! My first appt isn't until August 21st (so far away!) so I'm just going to keep takin what I have until then. I hope your MS gets better!

@fussygal: @MamaChin: My Ob suggested to just take any over the counter. He said that, yeah, the prescription ones have a little more folic acid, but any generic prenatal will be perfectly fine.

@ChattyCathy: awww sorry you're feeling bad. Just remember that there are people out there w/o any symptoms to confirm they are still pregnant, so try not to make yourself crazy

Anyone else have a nose like a dog? I already had a strong sense of smell, and it increased when I was pregnant with LO...and now it's back! I was washing a pan that I made eggs in and gagged from the smell. I'm still waiting for the MS to kick into full swing. With A, it started in about one week from now...

Ladies, I am SO happy with our pictures, and I love our announcement, but now I really don't think I can wait to announce! My appt is TEN days from now & I just have this picture sitting here, just waiting to become my new fb cover page! Gah! lol

@ChattyCathy: Thank you!! I seriously love them!!!

@Bao: Nope! I didn't get a super smeller last time either though! tbh I'm just glad I don't have super EARS... last time I could hear DH bite his nails from the OTHER ROOM & had major sound aversions! lol

How is everyone feeling? I'm super sick. Head cold. No fun at all and it makes me worried to be sick while pregnant. Luckily I'm still off for summer break, so I didn't have to take a sick day, but I can't call in sick to motherhood, so I'm definitely not resting as much as I'd like!

How do you cope with being sick while pregnant and/or taking care of a toddler?

  11. HazelEyes

    clementine / 811 posts

@runsyellowlites: they came out so well! I don't blame you for wanting to share what a cute family

  12. HazelEyes

    clementine / 811 posts

@mrs. tictactoe: I can't even imagine. I hate being sick, forget being newly preggers and having a toddler at the same time! Water, OJ and as early a bedtime as you can muster. Oi.

Feeling ok today. Cramps are kicking in sporadically, and same sore boobs and midafternoon wave of tired. But fx that is the worst of it...

  13. matador84

    papaya / 10560 posts

@Bao: I definitely have! LO's poopy diapers have been making me gag left and right!@runsyellowlites: It is super cute! I know you are probably dying! I can't wait to announce too but still can't decide when. I really don't think I can wait another month, I looked at my bump pics from DS...I'm about as big now as I was at 15 weeks with DS!@mrs. tictactoe: Ha! I feel your pain. I am off for summer too and have been putting DS in daycare 3x week so I can rest. It always ends up that I feel the worst on days he's home with me...just gotta keep on trucking! It is sooooo hard taking care of a LO and being sick!

  14. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@mrs. tictactoe: as bad as it sounds, I put on a show for LO when I need a minute to rest.

  15. mrs. tictactoe

    blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts

@Bao: that does not sound bad! We've been watching a ton of TV today. Sesame Street and Homeward Bound. We do what we gotta do!

  16. matador84

    papaya / 10560 posts

@Bao: ds has never watched tv...but i'm about to cave. some days i'm so tired i can barely move off the couch!

  17. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

@mrs. tictactoe: Today has been an off day.... just tired (not sleepy so much but lack of energy) and so I had alot of trouble drinking & eating enough (not moving more than I *had* too took over) and then I got a bit nauseous this afternoon AND THEN to make things better I got into a spat with DH and was super emotional (it wasn't even that big of a deal but I still had to excuse myself to our room to cry). Yep... I'm pregnant! lol

As for how I deal... G is old enough to keep himself busy and I just coax P to come sit & nurse ALOT. lol

@HazelEyes: @matador84: Thanks ladies! DH said he doesn't care if I go ahead and spill it!!! EEP! I think I'm gonna! We're already over a week farther than last time and there is NO WAY I'd make it another week & a half... just not going to happen!

  18. matador84

    papaya / 10560 posts

@runsyellowlites: how many weeks are you again? we found out with DS at 10 weeks and didn't tell until 12 so the wait wasn't bad. this time it has been agonizing!

  19. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

@matador84: 8 weeks 3 days... we found out at 4.... it's been killer! We announced right at 7 weeks last time. And we didn't see or hear the heartbeat until almost 11 weeks so, yea...

Of course now that DH said go ahead I'm nervous & don't know what to write in the post! Bah!

Thoughts and prayers, love and strength to norcalwayfarer and mrsk. Hoping you get sticky babies to join your families soon.

***please let me know if I missed someone or got something wrong***

Ugh I had a huge message typed on my phone when J climbed on me this afternoon and it somehow disappeared!

@mrsrccar: yay! So happy you got to hear the heartbeat! Best.noise.ever!

@mrs. tictactoe: congratulations! I've found letting J have more time exploring cupboards/drawers gives me a little peace when I need it. Going outside and letting him run around while i sit in a chair works for a bit too. I'm trying hard to keep the tv off when I get tired or sick.

@fussygal: Sobeys has free prenatals for women TTC, pregnant and breastfeeding so I'm taking those. It's nice to save a bit of money since I'm a SAHM now.

@bao: yes! I feel like I can smell what's in the oven next door! Boo!

@runsyellowlites: I have to say how great your pics turned out again! I just looked again and you look stunning.

@runsyellowlites: thats about where we are! i'm just soooo paranoid because i didn't have problems until 10 weeks with my first. i did get to see the heartbeat yesterday though, i think i forgot to mention that in my post!

@matador84: yay! So exciting that you saw the heartbeat! I have to wait 3 more weeks and then I just get the Doppler.

Okay I'm finally coming out of hiding as a March Mama (again! DD was born March 2012!) I feel a little late to the game but better late than never right?

EDD if you have one: March 15th based on LMP
When Did You Find Out?: 11 DPO
    Child Number: 2
Where You Live: South Western Ontario
What kind of provider will you see?: Midwife
When's Your First Appointment?: August 14th
What kind of birth do you want?: We're kicking around a homebirth, but DH isn't 100% on board. Probably a natural MW assisted hospital birth
What You're Most Excited For: Feeling kicks again
What You're Most Scared About: Balancing life with another baby.
Symptoms so far: waves of nausea, exhaustion and pimples on my face
Any fun plans for the summer?: We've got a week off at the end of the month to do some work on DD1's big girl room, and a weekend in Niagara Falls in August
Share a picture of your bfp, announcement, &/or chart: Here is a pic we had done of DD-- haven't shared it with the world yet but we will soon

@Mrsjets: Aww thank you! I can guarantee that's not how we usually all look! lol

@matador84: yea... I totally didn't even make it the day! We posted last night! lol so glad you got to see the hb AND get pictures! yay!

@prettylizy: Yay! Glad you're finally joining us! I LOVE your announcement! Awesomesauce!!!!

Idk if you've seen this but birthwithoutfearblog has a pretty great post from a home birth dad & how his perspective when from hospital birth to home birth:
    http://birthwithoutfearblog.com/2012/09/17/a-fathers-perspective-the-journey-from-hospital-to-home/

I have another friend that is trying to get her husband on board with hb too..... My best suggestions is to just meet with some & have him ask ALL the questions he could possibly have. Alot of times it's just a matter of needing to know that IF something happened it could be appropriately handled.

I used this list of questions to interview our new MW:
    http://theadventuresoflactatinggirl.com/2011/05/13/home-birth-midwife-interview-questions/

Either way hope it goes awesome!!!!

@runsyellowlites: Thanks for the links I'm going to look them over. DH's main argument against a homebirth right now is that we are 40ish minutes from the nearest hospital and should we need a transfer he thinks that is too far. I'm hoping our first MW appt will lay some of those concerns to rest.

@prettylizy - YAHOOOOOOOOO So glad you have a midwife this time and I think you should totally have a home birth! Get your DH to talk to my DH, he was on board for a HB with all our kids (darn circumstances ruined it every time though). WOOHOO!!!!! Congratulations

  28. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

@prettylizy: Yea, I think knowing *how* your MW would watch, assess, and handle a situation really helps!

I know my MW told me "As a MW (homebirth) we *have* to be more on top of things than an ob in a hospital would b/c just taking a mom in for a c-section isn't an option.... We have to watch & be ready with effective treatments BEFORE something turns bad"

And FWIW, our hospitals don't allow vbacs b/c they cannot me the recommendation of 1. having an anesthiologist on-site 24 hours a day & 2. Cannot put an OR team together in less than 30 minutes 24 hours a day. With that... calling ahead as a transfer (usually much earlier in a problems since my MW is there during my birth the entire time) gives me the same time from assessment to cesarean as being in the hospital would (maybe even sooner if my MW was able to see/catch something before medical staff just checking in on me would).

I'd just grill the MW, don't worry they're used to it. lol

    Any new symptoms for anyone?

I've had alot less energy the last 2 days AND today I've been soo dizzy! I just ate 2 peanut butter sandwiches & had 2 glasses of orange pineapple juice....I don't usually drink juice but though maybe it'll help! ugh!

And since I know not all our March moms are gold (and since I already spilled the beans publicly) here's our announcement:

Omgosh! Congrats @prettylizzy: I love the sign...and just might be thinking of stealing the idea

New symptom - emotional! I was reading the quote thread and I teared up. Seriously, reading quotes made me weepy...

Ok ladies, lots of pinching pains on my lower right side today. Trying not to freak out about it and just relax in bed for a while. Unfortunately I turned to Dr. Google and am now even more worried. Do I never learn? Gah!

@prettylizy: yay! Welcome! I love tour announcement pic!

Nothing really new. But have gotten some dull (pms-like) and one sharper (made me say ooo! But was a split second) cramp when I stood up tonight. Assuming it is just growing pains, since i think a few of you ladies have mentioned cramping.
