I'm having lots of cramps too. I also took a three hour nap today...oops!

@HazelEyes: Yes! I have been having sharp pains every now and then when i move too fast or stand too quickly.

I have no new symptoms - the ones I have are just getting stronger. I spent all day today on the couch trying not to barf. Bad, but good, I guess, since it makes me more nervous when I am feeling great! My husband is being super nice and planned this really yum, healthy dinner since I am not up for cooking! teriyaki shrimp and pineapple, sweet potatoes and asparagus.

Clearly, I am ready to eat.

Had a scary night of cramping and a morning of bleeding so I went to the ER. Looks like baby is healthy with a heartbeat of 133bpm and measuring 6 weeks 2 days, but she said give or take 5 days so my EDD is from 3/16 to 3/21. I was going with 3/17 originally. So we will see what my next appt brings. Here is baby!

@Mrs. Champagne: I have that too. I don't usually have much CM at all, but the past few days I've noticed quite a bit.

So I just got back from my doctor's appointment (8w4d) and she doesn't think a scan is necessary! She asked me how I was tracking and how sure I was of my dates, and told me that my initial bHCGs were definitely right on track with the dates I gave her. She ordered a repeat quant bHCG and said that as long as the #s look okay she doesn't see a reason to do a dating scan. I've had no spotting, minimal cramping, and really minimal symptoms overall (a bit of nausea and food aversion here and there, but nothing serious). She really thinks I should wait until my NT scan at 12 weeks as that is when the risk of miscarriage drops to very low anyway.
What do you think? Would you request a dating scan? Is my doc being too conservative?

@Bao: Eek! Glad all is well & the little bean looks good!!! Rest up & take it easy (at least as easy as you can).

@Mrs. Champagne: It's normal... and as you get more & more pregnant it can get to be more & more. blegh!

@ScarletBegonia: We don't get a dating u/s. Since I know my dates my MW prefers to minimize u/s exposure & just have our anatomy scan. (we don't do late term u/s either unless I start measuring 4 wks off in either direction).

  17. ScarletBegonia

    persimmon / 1339 posts

@runsyellowlites: thanks, that makes sense too. Just not sure i can make it to 12 weeks without knowing if there is a heartbeat in there!

  18. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

@ScarletBegonia: You should be able to pick it up on doppler after 9 weeks... you have any appts between now & then?

We're hoping at my appt on Monday we'll be able to hear it, I'll be 9wk 6d. fx

  19. Mrsjets

    pear / 1699 posts

@ScarletBegonia: I'm not getting a u/s until the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. And that's it, unless there are issues. I had blood work done and my dates are solid so there is no need. I will get blood work done twice more if it goes like my last pregnancy. I don't think ultrasounds are as necessary as most US doctors make them seem.

I am thinking I am 8 weeks 3 days today... So due march 7th instead of the 20th. But I won't know til I go to the doctor so don't change the date yet. But it just makes more sense. This weekend my MS has hit s freaking hard! Of I don't eat like every 2 hrs I feel like death"

I've got my dating ultrasound today! I got my BFP three weeks ago, so I think I'm between 6-7 weeks! EEEEP! I will update after.. so nervous. Hoping everything goes well!

What did you ladies eat for breakfast this morning? I had a scrambled egg w/ salsa, and some strawberries and blueberries.

So... I gave in and put on maternity pants today. Definitely bloating a lot faster this time around.

@Bao: So glad to hear they gave you an "all clear", but did they give you a reason for the bleeding?

  25. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: no not really besides it could be stress related or it could just happen. I'm not overly stressed I don't think. I'm supposed to follow up with my OB so hopefully she has an answer for me.

  26. futuremama

    clementine / 854 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: I had a bagel sandwich but had to force it down. I'm going to need to get more options for breakfast because I tend to feel terrible in the AM since I haven't eaten in so long.

    @Mrs. Champagne: good luck today!

    oook....so here I am!

EDD if you have one: Actually early April, but as of right now, the plan is to induce around 38 weeks, because of my previous history, so it'll probably be a March kid. Again.
When Did You Find Out?: I thik 12 dpo? I'm not too sure.
Child Number: Three...DH's second, but second living child.
Where You Live: South Carolina...just South of Charlotte.
What kind of provider will you see?: Midwife in and ob/gyn office.
When's Your First Appointment?: I don't know, I gotta call, still.
What kind of birth do you want?: a live one.
What You're Most Excited For: The prospect of finally having a healthy baby to take home.
What You're Most Scared About: Another stillborn. (I'm such a downer, I'm sorry)
Symptoms so far: full boobs, exhaustion, a little nauseated.
Any fun plans for the summer (or winter in Aus)?: It's almost over...but DS's birthday party is this Saturday!

@BabyBoecksMom: yum! I had a toasted whole wheat English muffin with peanut butter and a glass of milk. I should have had some type of fruit but oh well! My maternity pants are too big but my regular pants are not fitting well either

@Dandelion: congratulations! I'm so happy to see you here!

  33. BabyBoecksMom

@Dandelion: You are. not. a downer! I think you're amazing! And I'm so glad you're joining us!!!!!

@BabyBoecksMom: I are bad... I had an iced caramel macchiato & a sausage egg biscuit from Starbucks. I had to bring my mom & aunt to SA for a follow up.... Little sleep & early drive. *yawn* I officially hate eating on the road though bc it makes me feel SO bloated.

Hi all! Went good! The us showed 6 weeks 4 days and the transvaginal showed 6 weeks 6 days so they are averaging that to 6 weeks 5 days which is exactly where I thought I was!

I do have a cyst on each ovary though which is why they had to do the transvaginal us so hopefully that's not a big deal? I'm not allowing my self to google!

  39. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: yay! I had cysts my last pregnancy and all was fine. I think it's actually pretty common and they go away on their own, usually.

I was so lame and texted DH at work to tell him the news. He then took a half sick day and came home to boss me and tell me what I need to be doing. I just came home from the grocery store, and it looks like this will be the last trip with anything remotely delicious, haha. Gotta really watch my sugar this time around!

He took it better than I thought. He was obsessing about money this weekend, but apparently he's not making that connection about it. I'm relieved!
