Only 4 weeks and I feel like everything I eat is going to come back up! I'm scared to know how it'll be when MS is supposed to kick in at 6! I've never felt like this with DS or S...ick.

    @Dandelion: blah that sucks!!

I'm having really bad head aches. I normally get a head ache most days but it bearable and some days I don't get one at all (when I'm not pregnant). Well for the last week I've got a bad one every day around this time. Its all I can do to keep sane and not cry Any tips??

I'm having some stomach pains...nothing like I've had before. They just came on about 30 minutes ago and are kind of freaking me out. Not gas pains and not period type cramps. Hoping they go away soon bc I can barely lift DS.

@Mrs. Champagne: I had severe headaches with my first from all the hormone changes. I couldn't take anything, only lie down in a cool, dark place.

@Mrs. Champagne: Hi there, popping over from the February thread. I had some really serious migraines everyday around 6 weeks and they were terrible. My tips are to stay really well hydrated, get enough rest, try drinking a little bit of Pepsi for some caffeine, and take tylenol if you need to. If you get nausea with the headaches, you can try taking one benadryl. Luckily, I haven't had a migraine since 6 weeks so hopefully, this is just due to hormones and will end quickly.

I ralphed brushing my teeth this morning. DS laughed and then started fake coughing to copy me lol. This is still so much better than last time I don't want to complain!

@matador84: blahhh!! hopefully you don't get them this time!

@MrsKoala: thanks for chiming in!! I'm going to lie down right now and get off the computer and hopefully that will help! I'm trying not to take meds but I have a couple of times.

@Mrsjets: I think my due date will actually be the 19th! If you could change that next time, that would be awesome! Also I LOLd ad DS trying to copy you!! haha so cute/gross!

@Mrsjets: Ugh. I've been gagging every time I brush my teeth too! Yuck.

I got to hear the heartbeat today - so crazy. And now the little shrimp looks a bit more human than just the blob we saw at 6 weeks. I'm measuring right around 9 weeks now. For those of you a few weeks behind me, I can't believe how much that little bundle of cells changes so quickly!

@MrsKoala: I've been checking in on the Feb thread because my due date is so close to the beginning of March. I keep hoping that all of the February ladies will soon be posting about how WONDERFUL they feel and that all of the MS is gone so that I can look forward to that feeling as well.

@Mrsjets: I'm sorry you threw up, but your kid mimicking you must make it a little amusing, lol!

@Mrs. Champagne: I hope your migraines get better! Have you cut down on coffee? I keep throwing mine up, so I'm going to have to quit it cold turkey...I'm hoping to not have to deal with too many migraines!

    @Mrs. Champagne: all fixed

@math.nerd: ahh! Best sound ever! I can't wait till my next appt to hear it!

Do we have any team greeners?

  13. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

@Mrsjets: merci! and not team green here! i could do it I think, but DH is an engineer and said "i like technology.. why would we not find out if we could?!" haha. I could have gone either way so I let him pick!

  14. ShayNanigans

@Mrsjets: I think we are team green! Which is funny since my husband and I have major patience issues. I feel like it's a boy, and my husband had a dream right before I got pregnant about a boy, soooooooooo we'll find out in march, I guess! Although I do think about how we might spend a ton of time on two names, when we only need one. (I hope...)

  15. futuremama

    clementine / 854 posts

@Mrsjets: we're undecided. DH wants to find out the sex. I kind of want the surprise. We will see who gives in.

  16. runsyellowlites

@Mrs. Champagne: Ugh. I had a horrible almost migraine headache the other day. I've decided that I don't want to take any Tylenol this time (I learned it's a Class C pregnancy drug).

I let my headache go most of the day & just tried a little caffeine, but it just kept getting worse soooo I did some quick research & found that peppermint oil is on the safe for pregnancy list AND is great for headaches! I put a drop on my finger & rubbed it on my temple (where it was hurting) and right behind my ear..... 30 minutes later it was significantly better & before I knew it I forget I even had a headache! Peppermint can be good for nausea too so it might be worth trying!

@Mrsjets: Oh no! That's so cute that he tried to mimic you though! lol

And I think we're going with finding out this time.... I really liked being team green last time BUT I already have a reveal picture that I'd love to be able to do that coincides with our pregnancy announcement so we *may* have to cave. lol

  17. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@Mrsjets: I will not be team green. I wouldn't mind it, but I have so many unused girl clothes from S, so if it's a boy, I'm gonna want time to sell them and swap them out for boy stuff. I know I won't have time after baby is around.

  18. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

@runsyellowlites: oh thanks! i will have to try that!! I haven't had any caffeine so far.. only a few sips of coke. I don't drink coffee regularly and tea was easy enough to cut out. But maybe I shouldn't have!

  19. ScarletBegonia

We're going team green! I absolutely HATE pink so if we are having a girl I don't want to know/tell people cause I don't want to receive pink stuff as gifts. Seeing what a lot of friends and family have been through, no matter how much you say "gender neutral" most gifts are pink for a girl, blue for a boy!

I'm quietly freaking out here while my students write a test, waiting to hear from the doctor about my 8w6d HCG levels...I can't get it out of my head that I've had a missed miscarriage - my symptoms have been so all over the place that I can't seem to feel any reassurance. Ugh!

  20. Bao

@Mrsjets: We were team green last time for a while until the tech spoiled it. So I think this time, we will try and find out. I joked with DH that the baby will have their legs crossed since we want to know lol. I really wish our first team green experience would have worked out though.

@ScarletBegonia: This was the same reason why we wanted to be team green last time, well and the surprise. It didn't work out for us, but we didn't announce until after our shower so we got tons of necessities, it was awesome!

I'm waiting on my HCG results to see if they are rising like they should be...any positive thoughts are appreciated! I'm still having the bleeding and occasional cramping. I'm not sure how long it takes to get the results, but hopefully by tomorrow.

    Hey MARCH GIRLS!

I have to apologize for being so MIA and I miss checking up on you ladies to see how you all are doing! Sadly my pregnancy has already been EXTREMELY hard for me.

I have been to the doctor a few times and been on bed rest for days now. I'm so sick I can barely stand up to take a shower or wash the dishes..so my husband has basically taken over for me and I thank god for him!

He does laundry, cooks, cleans and picks up grocery!

Blah...this is so not fun but I am trying to remain positive that things will get better as the weeks go on.
I'm ONLY 6 weeks and I can barely walk, eat or stay awake. It's crazy! Reading and going on the computer makes me dizzy so I have been just entertaining myself with Netflix and my DVR (Thank god for TV, HA).

I'm praying this doesn't last longer than my 2nd tri... I am counting down the days till 12/13 weeks! Crossing my fingers. Hopefully I can be more active on this board and in life again soon!

@ScarletBegonia: When I had my ultrasound Sunday she said I was measuring 6 weeks 2 days, so 6 weeks 4 days. Which would be spot on with my OPK's. I O later, so going by LMP probably isn't as accurate as the measurements they got from the U/S.

  25. ScarletBegonia

    persimmon / 1339 posts

@BronxvilleBump: Oh you poor thing!! Have you been diagnosed with hyperemesis? It certainly sounds like that's what you have! Has the doc prescribed any medicine? I have a lovely doctor friend (that I'm actually living with at the moment with my husband - long story that is too depressing to get into) who wrote me a script for Zofran cause he knows how terrified I am of throwing up. I have only taken it once in a windy cab ride (where morning sickness was the least of my worries, it was definitely motion sickness!), but its so nice to know that I have it if needed, and it works a treat for me. My regular doctor would never prescribe it - she's super conservative and doesn't understand my phobia, I kind of hate her for it. Thank God for friends who take pity!

Anyway - sounds like you're in the wars Fingers crossed things lighten up for you soon! I have friends that were through the worst of their m/s by 9 weeks - here's hoping xx

@Mrsjets: we're team green! My husband has already announced he doesn't want any girls (he wants a football team) so naturally I'm sure we will have all girls

@BronxvilleBump: Oh no that sounds horrible hopefully you get feeling more normal soon!

@ScarletBegonia: @Bao: Seriously, waiting for hcg results was so freaking hard. I went in on July 15, 17 and 19 and practically had a heart attack each time I had to wait for the results. Good luck ladies!

  27. futuremama

    clementine / 854 posts

@Bao: @ScarletBegonia: I hope you both get some great news soon. One thing I love about my dr is that he does all blood draws first thing in the am, so I always get same day results. Otherwise, I would've been losing even more sleep over the past few weeks.

  28. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

@futuremama: my hospital gives you a card with the lab number to call after 4 hrs and they give you your results, it's so nice but I always freaked a bit when they weren't ready by the 4 hr mark. Spoiled!

@BronxvilleBump: oh so sorry to hear that! is this your first? hoping it gets better for you!

i would love to be team green this time around, but with this baby being such a surprise it would be really nice to plan around if it were a girl, especially for clothing since we have all boy stuff!

@ScarletBegonia: I hope the tests come back speedy for you! I'm sure everything is great

@BronxvilleBump: Oh, dear I'm so sorry! I hope you're feeling better soon, but it sounds like DH is taking good care of you Rest up!!

No team green here, we want to know as soon as we can! Maybe with #2 we'll want to wait...

We told my parents today and I was so excited to let them know! My step-dad is a heavy smoker (who is trying to cut down), but their house was still SO STRONG with the smoke smell. He didn't smoke while I was there (about 45 mins), but I feel so bad for subjecting the poor little one in my belly to that 2nd hand smoke and I've been apologizing to the bean in my belly all night I had to shower when I got home and I could feel it bothering my throat. I'm seriously not sure if I can go back there while pregnant and I feel AWFUL about it because I'm so close with my parents and I don't want to hurt their feelings. Navigating this will be so tricky. Anyone have experience with this?

  31. ScarletBegonia

    persimmon / 1339 posts

@fussygal: Thats so tough I don't have any first hand experience but if he is trying to cut down anyway, maybe you could ask that he only smoke outside? I'm sure the smell will linger in the house for a while but it might encourage him to smoke less (not to mention that i'm sure it would make your mom happy! Imagine the 2nd hand smoke she's exposed to!) But, I realise its really hard to ask someone to do something in their own house...
My FIL is a heavy drinker who gets belligerant and embarrassing when he is drunk (which is always), and I've told my husband I can't go there anymore. I find it so stressful to witness and I know it stresses my husband out so much too, I prefer to just see him at family gatherings where he's on slightly better behaviour. I know its not the same situation at all - but setting boundaries is important.

@fussygal: That IS tough. My inlaws are heavly smokers, but they both are about to work on quitting. I haven't told them, yet, that I'm pregnant, so hopefully that will keep them motivated.

I hope those of you with morning sickness and headaches are feeling better soon! Get lots of rest... If you can!

The hardest thing for me so far is that I seriously have to eat something every 1.5 hours or I feel starving and nauseous. I've been trying to eat little healthy snacks like a yogurt, pretzels, veggies. It is hard to come up with snacks so often. The feeling I get when I go too long is terrible. But I'm thanking my lucky stars I haven't had to throw up yet.

    Hope everyone feels well today.

  35. BLUEDIAMOND

@fussygal: that is a tough situation. I absolutely hate the smell of smoke and it is definitely hard to be around, especially with heightened smell and sensitivity!
Could they visit at your place more often? You could still see them a lot since you said you are so close but maybe find other locations to visit at?

@fussygal: I have experiencing with the smoking thing bc my in laws smoke. Such.a.battle. They don't understand the smell bc they are used to it. Plus my MIL smoked half a pack a day while pregnant so she doesn't care. We did go there when I was pregnant but A has only been there twice. I'm sticking my ground with this one though. Good luck!

@math.nerd: Ah! How exciting! I am so jealous you've seen your little bean twice already.

    @Mrsjets: We are Team Green!!

@Bao: Thinking positive thoughts for you

@fussygal: Yes about the smoking. My dad smokes. And I've been staying with them for vaca the last week and a half. He's been really trying to smoke outside, but it is everywhere. And he thinks I don't smell it in the middle of the night when he's downstairs and I'm upstairs. Ugh. And that was before I was pregnant. He really doesn't understand how pervasive it is!

As for me. Woke up in the middle of the night to nasty cramps on the lower left. Freaked me put a little bc I've had cramps but not that much. Woke up to some cramps and lower back ache which was new for me. No spotting though.

@MrsKoala: Thanks! I will be stalking your every post!

@HazelEyes: I'm pretty lucky. We were working with a fertility specialist and I have this random condition called Wilson's disease so that makes me technically "high risk" - even though we ultimately conceived with out interventions. So that gets me lots of doctor's appointments.

So, I've been wearing my wristbands at work the last few days and a partner at my firm just asked if I was pregnant! ACK! I totally lied to him. It was awful. I"ll have to apologize to him before the real truth comes out in a few more weeks. I'm only nine weeks now - when should I tell at work?

To all you ladies that are team green - how do you *do* it??? I can't stand not knowing. haha

@BronxvilleBump: Yikes! Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. Hopefully your doctor can get you something to ease the nausea. I believe that @lemondrop had to get some during her last pregnancy.
