@Dandelion: Awwww that's so sweet that he took a 1/2 day for you! And it's sweet (kind of) that he's making sure you take care of yourself

@BabyBoecksMom: It's sweet...I need him to hold me accountable...and he's saying he wants to lose weight, too, so the whole house is going to suffer and eat only healthy things, lol. No more sweets from the grocery store!

@Mrs. Champagne: I think it's common, too. I had one with DS, at the first ultrasound and it was gone by the next one. I guess sometimes the rupture can swell a little more.

@BabyBoecksMom: I've been wearing my belly band for at least a week already. I'm going to have to tell my boss soon, I'm tired of trying to hide the bump.

Who all has told family/friends? I'm losing sleep--I want to share the news, but am soooo paranoid I'll m/c!

@matador84: I've told our close family and very close friends, as well as my boss and 2 coworkers. We're trying to lay low until we hear a heartbeat but it's getting hard to camouflage my exhaustion! lol!

@matador84: We announced I think Friday.... I just couldn't keep our picture to myself any longer (a whopping 20 hours. Lol)

    we haven't told anyone!!

@matador84: We told my parents on Friday - we had a onesie made that said "Only Child Expiring March 2014". We all went to dinner and waited to see how long it would take them to figure it out. We've told a couple of our friends, but still no big announcement - we'll do that after my doctor's appt on the 13th. We are going to tell my in-laws this week, while we're all on vacation together (it would be way too hard to hide, since part of the plan is to go wine tasting together)

Obviously we just found out, but we're not telling anyone until after the first doctor appointment. We're definitely not telling DS for a while after that. Last time it was too long for him to wait.

I got my first appointment scheduled for August 14.

@Dandelion So glad to have you here!! Congrats!

@matador84 We've just told DH's parents and we'll tell my parents tonight or tomorrow. We have some good friends coming into town next week and we'll tell them, too. Other than that we're keeping mum until after the first tri.

I'm a Jan 2014 Mom but just wanted to chime in and say WOW March already!! Congrats to everyone!

We told my sister almost right away, and we told my parents yesterday. We weren't planning on telling even my parents yet (tell one set, gotta tell the other type thing) but since I had to go to the ER they could kind of figure it out since they babysat. So my parents and sister are the only ones who know. We are getting pictures done Sunday and she is doing an announcement photo for us. My first official appointment is 8/15 so we definitely won't tell until after that. I'd like to ideally wait until 10/12 weeks. The longer the better! I felt like we were pressured into telling too early with A.

Only a very few people know about me. We'll tell immediate family after the heartbeat, close friends and boss at 12 weeks, and then keep it quiet beyond that until I'm showing.

We've told our parents and sibling and a few very close friends. I have my first dr. appt next Monday at 6w3d. We are moving back to our hometown in late Aug. I'm hoping to hold out until then to tell anyone else. I should be 10 or 11 weeks by then.

We told my parents and little brother the day of my digital test, and told my other siblings and his parents a couple weeks later. I know it's freaking early and I never would have planned it this way but I couldn't keep a secret.

How's everyone feeling? I think I'm going to try the unisom and b6 thing this week to see if it helps my morning sickness. Or is it only called morning sickness if you throw up? I'm just nauseous and dying if I don't eat but can usually feel better about 15 minutes after I eat til the next time I'm hungry. Also having tons of CM, but haven't had cramping for weeks so I'm hoping things are going good.

Still haven't made a first appointment, am I crazy?

  16. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@ChattyCathy: You should make an appointment My doctor had to squeeze me in and it won't be until 9.5 weeks. I don't think it's only MS if you throw up, the nausea is just as bad! yuck.

  17. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@ChattyCathy: I'm nauseated, too. Some times I think that I *could* throw up if I went in the bathroom, but thankfully that hasn't happened, yet. I'm more nauseated now than I was in both my other pregnancies. I don't like it! I'm not as tired, though.

  18. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@ChattyCathy: And, yes, make an appointment!

  19. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

@Bao: @Dandelion: ok I will. I guess I'm just stalling because I want to wait til I am far along to see something on an ultrasound and I'm not sure how far along I am. I could be anywhere between 6-9 weeks but think I'm 8.5 weeks. I don't know. I'm so paranoid I'll go in for an ultrasound and nothing will be there

  20. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

@Dandelion: ya some days I'm tired then some days I just can't sleep no matter what I do. And my cats are making me very nauseous I hope you start feeling better soon!!! When I think that hopefully morning sickness gets better around 13 weeks I get sad that I still have so long lol.

  21. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@ChattyCathy: I just had an unexpected US at 6 weeks 2 days and I could see baby blob and a heartbeat. They may not even want to see you for a few weeks so just call don't be nervous!

  22. ChattyCathy

@Bao: ok I will! Thanks for your input.

  23. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@ChattyCathy: Your cats, haha. My cat was the first sign of pregnancy. She normally doesn't care about me, except for food. But, when I'm pregnant, she LOVES me. She started getting mushy on me and I started getting suspicious!

  24. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@ChattyCathy: I had an US at 6 weeks last time and saw a little nugget in there with a heartbeat. At 8 weeks, the US will pick it up. You shouldn't wait!

  25. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

@Dandelion: hahah I wish they were mushy with me. One used the litter box today, like a million rooms away and it woke me up out of a dead sleep. I was like come on cat, youre killing me. Hold it for 9 months please!

@Dandelion: Ok I'm going to call tomorrow to try and get an appointment for Friday when I should hopefully be 9 weeks. I'm just not loving the pay portions upfront at this birth center but I guess that's normal.

Ok just checked the birthing center website again. For those of you open to birthing at a birthing center, would you ever choose to be seen by a student midwife under in person supervision with the real midwife? It's 1000 cheaper, but is that not worth it? It says some of the procedures would be done once by the student and again by the midwife... So is that like 2 for 1? Or am I just being incredibly cheap lol.

@matador84: we told my parents bc I was staying w them for vaca for two weeks and the food/no drinking restrictions would have been just too stessful. MILs bday is in three weeks so DH wants to surprise her (along w FIL, SIL and soon to be BIL) w a card from "grand baby" but we will see if he really want to hold, out that long. But I'm with you, I'm DYING to tell people. I feel like I'm lying by ommission, and I don't know how I'm going to keep this up! Oi. I'm only barely in week 6!

Has anyone heard any pregnancy announcements from others since their BFP? I just had one (with twins) yesterday! It is so hard to not say, me too! Well not the twins part. That I know of...

    cherry / 148 posts

@HazelEyes: yes! My great uncle announced to the family last weekend that my 2nd cousin is pregnant. I guess she's just barely 4 weeks and I'm not really thinking she wanted him to announce lol. But after that my parents asked if anyone else ha any news and looked at me but I pretended not to see.

Ladies, I am so. hungry. all. the time. I was starving and ate a huge bowl of chili (+ seconds and two slices of cantaloupe, heh) about 45 mins ago and I'm already hungry again! I always associated the big appetite with women who were farther along!

So far no nausea or vomiting just this gnawing hunger and a general feeling of "blah".

@fussygal: um yeah, it's like my stomach has a hole in it! I've run two marathons, and I'm hungrier now than I was during training!

    grapefruit / 4712 posts

@fussygal: I wish my stomach would get with yours. I can't really stomach any food right now. I am thirsty all the time tho. FIL bought dinner tonight, Dh and I shared a meal and it still looks like we barely touched it.

The doctors office called me to confirm the fact that I do have a kidney infection and to continue to take my medicine. We went out today with BIL, SIL, and their new LO to the mall. N did ok in his stroller for about half the mall and then he was done. I don't generally put him in a stroller because I prefer to baby wear. However with my kidney infection and generally feeling like crud I thought it best to not carry him. I caved somewhere in the middle of mall because I saw he was so tired and just wanted his momma. Looking back it was probably not my greatest idea all day. I am paying like crazy for it now.

We told Dh family this weekend they were all very happy and surprised. All the babies so far are going to be nine months apart. N was 9 months when J was done and J will be 9 when this next one arrives.

@Mrs. Champagne: I've had them too both times, it has never been an issue for me. Basically this time the tech said that the corpus luteum is there, which provides the progesterone to help keep you pregnant- so she said it was a good thing.

@Bao: Glad things are ok!! Sorry, I'm still catching up, we are on a family vacation.

@Dandelion: soooo glad to see you over here!!! I'm so behind on the POAS thread!

@MrsRcCar: oh no! Feel better! So you already have meds for it? How long does it usually take to start feeling better? Regardless I hope you feel better very soon!

Thanks to all for the reassurance on the cysts! She said usually people have one from where you ovulated but not usually on both sides so she just wanted some extra pictures to rule out any issues!

@HazelEyes: yes! We found out tonight from MIL that DHs cousins wife is pregnant! Due in January!

@ChattyCathy: I got put on medicine Thursday. They said I should be feeling better by like now. I am not really feeling any better but I am hoping perhaps tomorrow I will feel better. I didn't really take it easy this weekend. Dh has been trying to get me to relax all weekend, I suppose I should have slowed down a little but the rest of week should be easy on me. I just have to work so hopefully it won't be too bad.

  38. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@ChattyCathy: I would go with the student, if you aren't already feeling connected to a midwife. If she's backed by a real midwife, and she's cheaper, I totally would. She needs the experience under her belt.

  39. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@fussygal: I'm the opposite! I don't want to eat anything!

  40. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@fussygal: I was like that at first. It's kind of evened out now. But, when I was pregnant with DD, it was non-stop hunger for the whole first trimester.
