March 2014 Moms come in!

@Dandelion: I'm sorry people give you a hard time about it. I wish they would leave those comments to themselves, even if they are just trying to be helpful.

  2. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: They don't...cause they don't know I'm pregnant, lol. Not even parents know, yet. My MIL will, though. She worries over everything, and after I lost S she said, "if you get pregnant again, I'm going to be so worried the whole time." I'm gonna tell her to keep it to herself. It doesn't help me.

@BabyBoecksMom: Ohhh, that is adorable, I love it

I haven't figured out what to do for an announcement yet.... I need ideas.

  4. HazelEyes

    clementine / 811 posts

@Dandelion: that is frustrating. You don't need yet another thing to worry about. I don't blame you for not wanting to make a big announcement.

  5. lemondrop

    bananas / 9118 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: that is soooooo cute! I'm impressed you could get her to hold still that long and make the shhh face! No way could I have pulled that off!

We'll announce to everyone at the beginning on next month after our next ultrasound. Quite a few people know already, it's so hard to keep secret!

We're going to do some sort of extended family reveal during October. Just a picture on the family blogs. I don't know if and when I'll tell Facebook....

Yesterday at work my coworker was trying to convince me to not be team green and telling me it's dumb. She said the surprise would be the same at 18 weeks as it would be at the end. I'm so surprised how many people think they get a say in this pregnancy! Between people hating the idea of team green and family telling me what not to name the baby and my parents giving me nursery advice.... Fun fun!

  7. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

    @BabyBoecksMom: I love that!

@Dandelion: I would keep it from MIL as long as possible! No one wants that added stress or a worry wart breathing down their neck.

How's everyone feeling today? I keep thinking morning sickness is gone and then right on cue it comes back like 2 hrs after eating!

  8. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@ChattyCathy: oh yeah people always give their two cents, unfortunately.we were team green most of my last pregnancy and it was awesome except we got crap for it too. I have to say the "advice" never stops lol

    Hey ladies!

I had a job interview today for work in a call center part time evenings/weekends. I (obviously) didn't disclose my pregnancy but I feel kinda bad about it. I want to work a bit while I can before #2 arrives, I hope I get it and that they're aren't too miffed when they find out. Fingers crossed!

@Bao: ya I guess I need to just get used to it and get good at nodding and ignoring.

    @Mrsjets: Good luck!

Haven't checked in in a while, hope everyone is feeling good!! The exhaustion and nausea come and go but N has been waking up later for some reason (don't care what reason, sleep all you want kid!) and DH took over the early morning feed so I've been able to get some rest. I wish we could stockpile sleep!!

Lately I've been rehashing N's newborn days - the non stop diapering and feeding and no sleep and hurty boobs and sore privates and having to shower while covering your nipples...all that plus a 1.5 year old running around. If the first trimester exhaustion doesn't knock me down, those thoughts certainly do!! Anyone else feeling this way?

New mamas - all that stuff above happens, but you go through it in a haze of newborn love. Their little face and fingers and toes and gassy smiles, the way they know your smell and your voice, it all trumps the yucky stuff.

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@MamaChin: I'm feeling the same way. LO will be 19 months when baby comes. I hope I get lots of help!

  14. MrsRcCar

@Mrsjets: Good Luck!! Don't feel guilty about not disclosing. They don't need to know right now anyway.

@MamaChin: I feel you on the exhaustion! N is 10 months old and it is challenge to keep up with him!! He isn't even really walking yet. I am blessed that currently we live with my family so we get a little extra help. Our arrangement is short term until we can find a home that DH and I agree on, who knew it could be so hard finding a house!

I have been still feeling pretty sick. Are there any mamas on here that don't eat meat or limited meat? I am looking for a way to increase my protein intake that doesn't upset my tummy. No meat sounds good and if it doesn't sound good that it doesn't pass these lips. I have been eating pretty much fruits, veggies, and Rice Chex. Although my favorite snack is an apple and peanut butter.

In other news DH and I bought a new car! (Well new to us car) I am so excited to have a newer, safer, larger car! DH was like Happy Birthday...lol. We came home and installed N's car seat into the new car and it fits so much nicer! Tomorrow I am going to hit the store to buy floor mats that I li,ke and pick up a dog hammock to keep my wonderful dogs hair off my new seats. It sounds silly but I am so excited that DH and I were able to get this car all on our own. In the past we have had help from our parents. Our parents are more then generous but we didn't want to ask for help. We have been working hard to pay down bills and improve our credit, and it was proof today that we are doing just that, when I rolled off the lot with my 2006 Torrent!

My app on my phones says after this week that this morning sickness feeling should let up. I am hoping it is true. I have felt sick since the beginning. I am looking forward to the second trimester and not feeling like death....

    Hope everyone else is well.

Ok I might be going crazy but the past two days I keep feeling like my phone is vibrating in my stomach. That's the only way I can explain it. But my phone is nowhere near my stomach. Wth?

  16. lemondrop

    bananas / 9118 posts

Morning sickness has hit me full force the past few days. Well full force like last time, I know it can always be worse!

Poop diapers are the worst. I had to stop using the changing table because of running to throw up... can't exactly leave him up there.

I've found that Otter Pops and Chimes Ginger Chews are the best right now for nausea.

    bananas / 9118 posts

@ChattyCathy: omg, yes- I totally forgot about that feeling, only I think I first noticed it in the second tri last time? There are a few posts on it in the archives, but they were some time ago.

    Hey ladies!
Things are good with me, I'm 10w3d today, only 15 days to wait til my NT scan! I'm so freaking desperate to hear that heartbeat. I have to constantly talk myself down and remind myself that a million things could have/could still go wrong at this stage (and indeed every stage!), but the excitement is starting to take over.
I'm a bit bummed this morning, its Sunday in Sydney and the day of the biggest fun run in the world, from downtown Sydney to Bondi Beach - 90000 participants this year! And I'm not one of them I've done the run every year for the past 5 years and my times keep improving, but this year I decided to opt out. Running has not been my friend since I found out I'm pregnant, and whenever I try to jog I always end up walking. I dropped my husband off this morning at 7am and he's down at the beach now having beers with our friends and I have major FOMO!
Oh well - I suppose its just something small but in my hyper emotional state I got a bit upset about it.
Anyway - hope everyone is doing okay and that those of you who are still feeling unwell turn the corner soon!

  19. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@ChattyCathy: I got that with DS! I remember sitting there, thinking my phone was going off, and then realizing it wasn't my phone, it was my baby! How far are you again??

  20. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

@lemondrop: Where did you get that ginger candy? I've been searching everywhere and can't find anything gingery!

And it's the weirdest feeling ever! My mom said it was probably gas, but I'm pretty sure I know what toots feel like by now!

@ScarletBegonia: Oh man I'm sorry! Wait what is fomo?

@Dandelion: I'm only 10 weeks 2 days I think. Honestly I don't know and I could be even less far along.

  21. lemondrop

    bananas / 9118 posts

@ChattyCathy: they have them on Amazon (lots of flavors, but I really like the plain ginger)-http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s/ref=is_s_ss_i_0_7?k=chimes+ginger+chews&sprefix=chimes+

They are f'ing amazing! I tried crystallized ginger last time and was still super sick. These wipe out my nausea for a long time!

  22. ScarletBegonia

@ChattyCathy: FOMO - fear of missing out! Been happening a lot since I've been pregnant

  23. Mrsjets

    pear / 1699 posts

@lemondrop: ugh poop diapers are the worst!

@ChattyCathy: I'm definitely gassier when pregnant. I was weirded out last time buy those huge bubbles/shakes but they seem normal to me this time. Everything seems to processes differently when I'm pregnant.

@MrsRcCar: oh congrats! I love those Torrents!

@ScarletBegonia: aww I hope you feel better, I'm winded so much easier already. It sucks missing out and hormones suck too!

@MamaChin: mine will be about 20 months apart and I'm worried too! I guess it's like when people ask the parents of twins how they do it and they say "We just do" - or at least I hope so!

  24. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@ScarletBegonia: I completely understand. I felt that way all through my first pregnancy. This time, it's not as bad, but I still have those twinges of jealousy that they can drink and have fun and I can't.

@lemondrop: thanks for the heads up on those. I haven't been throwning up but the nausea is so bad that sometimes I wish I would just throw up. If these work, I expect to actually be able to make it through the day.

Whew! We just had company for four days so I'm just now catching up on HB! We finally got to tell our really good friends. Even thought its still early I wanted them to know! We all knew about theirs really early on, too.

7w3d and feeling good! I did do something kinda stupid this weekend that has me freaking out though. We went swimming at the river and I swam out to this little island and kinda over exerted myself. I wasn't super fit before pregnancy, but I had just started running 3 days a week. I stopped all running once we found out I was pregnant so the swim definitely had me feeling tired and out of breath. I guess I wasn't thinking it would affect me as much as it did. i should have known better since EVERYTHING makes me winded these days (walking up stairs, anyone?). DH is trying to calm me down by telling me that cave women used to run from tigers while pregnant (ha!) and that plenty of people do exercise so it's not that big of a deal. Ugh. Any words to calm my mind would be great. Still another week and a half to my first appt!

@chattycathy That sounds like a funny feeling! I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

  26. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@fussygal: I do bootcamp 3 days a week, although I take it easy compared to what I used to do. Don't stress - The extra hormones make you get winded faster than you normally would. FWIW - I jogged up to my 9th month last time. The exercise is good for you and the baby.

@Mrs. Champagne: I'm so tired, I'm always tired. I'm 11 weeks so I'm hoping the nauseated feeling lets up soon too. I can't wait to not have this lump in my throat!

    How bout you?!

  29. futuremama

    clementine / 854 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: not too bad. I'm learning to manage the nausea finally. The sore boobs are kicking in pretty badly now though. I also have a little pooch from the bloating.

  30. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

@Mrsjets: I'm feeling not bad! I am nauseous in the mornings and need to eat right away.. yesterday I slept in and then went right into the shower, and then I felt so sick I had to get DH to bring me some OJ.

I'm so tired too.. slept from about 5pm-7pm last night then bed at 11!

@futuremama: i've got a little bloat going on too. after I eat my belly sticks out quite a bit! DH thinks its hilarious!

  31. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: new symptom this week, it feels like the back of my bum/hips/pelvis is ripping apart. Not fun! Nausea might be a little better? Or maybe I'm just hoping lol!

  32. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: I feel like crap I never hand any morning sickness w/ DD and I'm paying for it this time w/ all day nausea. I'm surprised I've only gained 2 lbs so far because the only time I'm not nauseated is when my stomach is stuffed LOL

  33. math.nerd

@ChattyCathy: Yuck - could it be sciatica? I had it once and it was so painful! I was given some stretches that really helped. Maybe someone you know (with expertise!) can help you find some stretches that will bring you relief.

I finally felt a little bit more myself this weekend and I think it was thanks to Mint Tea! My accupuncturist recommended it and I finally tried it. I had been doing wristbands, ginger candies, eating all the time..... but had never heard of mint as a remedy for MS. Everything else has helped a little bit, but the mint tea has really made a difference in my overall well-being. If you're still struggling, I suggest giving it a try!

  34. BLUEDIAMOND

    coffee bean / 42 posts

The mint tea totally helps me too!
I've been feeling okay. So thankful I'm not puking, but I feel nauseous a lot of the time. Food helps... A lot.
Hope you all have a great week!

I've started to feel a teensy bit of nausea in the past 24 hours, but nothing too major. A bit of cramping the past day or so, too.

I just got a call from my doctor's office and they're trying to open up more appointments so they're moving me up a week so I get to go in this Thursday - SO excited! Normally my office only does a nurse visit on the first appt, but my doctor does everything so I'll get to have my ultrasound, too! Yay! Now off to work on my list of questions...

  36. runsyellowlites

My apologies being MIA... once I get behind on a thread it's so hard for me to get caught back up! lol

    How's everyone feeling today?

I've still been feeling really good. Had a couple bouts of super slight spotting (only when I wiped & only b/c I was looking), but DH & I have been standing in agreement in prayer & my MW has added the specifics to her prayer list too so we still feel pretty good! My stupid hip has been flaring up too so I will probably start seeing a chiropractor much earlier than last time. Being limited to sitting on the heating pad & sleeping with a pillow between my legs already bites (we should probably start adding this to our prayer list too)!

On another note, we have officially decided to NOT find out this time too! We tried the Shettle's Method for a boy, but I'm just not okay with the possibility of any gender disappointment through the pregnancy (I've tried searching for it at birth, but 99.9% of occurrences were all from people that found out early). I know there might be that moment of "aww no boy" at birth, but holding my bebe will dissolve those pretty quick (and that tends to be the general consensus for others too). I feel so much better finally deciding!!!!!

So does anyone get nervous from lack of symptoms? I had a great sleep last night, and a good run today, but am feeling really good today. It seems like I should be overjoyed that I am not having the icky feeling... but it makes me nervous. I did have a great appt yesterday, so could it just be that some stress was relieved from that? Or am I counting my chickens, and its going to come back with a vengeance in a few days? This happen to anyone? I'm only around 7 weeks and change.

  38. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@HazelEyes: they come and go for me, it's normal! I'm sure they will be back soon

Eeeks I have my appointment tomorrow guys I'm so excited!

  39. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

@HazelEyes: @Bao: I've had super minimal symptoms this time & even when I do have them they aren't very severe. We've been praying specifically for a symptomless pregnancy but it still makes me nervous!

My MW is stopping by today b/c she's in town for another mom... Believing today we're gonna hear that heartbeat! She should be here any minute!

  40. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

I'm so terrified I'm going to go to the ultrasound and they won't see anything. Like one of those mental pregnancy things. I don't know why. I still have nausea hard core if I don't eat all the time and just generally feel crappy but my stomach isn't hard or anything. August 26 can't come soon enough!
