@ChattyCathy: Awww try not to fret!!!!

So MW came, visit went great, still didn't get to hear the heartbeat, but she really helped calm my nerves & we're going to go ahead & get an u/s scheduled for me next Thursday since I'm going that way for the Endocrinologist anyways.

Still praying & believing life for this baby & trying to grow my faith bigger than my knowledge (one of those double edged swords of knowing so much). *shrugs shoulders*

@ChattyCathy: my stomach didn't get hard until WELL into my pregnancy. I barely had a bump with A until 20 weeks. Try not to worry!

@chattycathy: I'm 11.5 weeks and my belly isn't hard yet either, although I am bloated and showing a touch. There's nothing you can do but believe that this is meant to be

@runsyellowlites: aww I'm sure everything is fine but I'm glad she is sending you for an U/S. My appt is Monday and my dr said something about an u/s if we don't hear it by then too. Thinking of you!

So I had my glucose blood test today and I pretty much passed out after the blood draw which has never happened to me before. How embarrassing! She was so sweet about it though. FX for not having to do the 2 hour!!

@Mrsjets: Thanks! This is definitely growing my faith & I guess ultimately that's the most important thing. My MW is so wonderful & I love her so much, she really helped me feel better & just keep "now" minded.

When was your last appt?.... I'm 11 weeks today & know that it can still definitely be "early" to hear the heartbeat, but boo I wanna! lol

@runsyellowlites: Such a great attitude. I was 7 weeks at my first appt. I will be 12+2 for my next.

@runsyellowlites: I'm glad your MW made you feel better. Maybe this story will too.

I've been spotting a little bit since Monday. Last night I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and when I wiped there was bright, red blood! This morning it was back to heavier spotting. We were able to get into see the Dr. first thing and she did an US to make sure everything was ok - and it totally was. In fact, baby was moving more than ever. She said that this kind of thing sometimes just happens and no one even knows why.

I know when I started spotting I was reading lots of stories about people who had spotting and bleeding and everything was OK. It definitely helped me keep my cool in the middle of the night. So I just wanted to add my story in case anyone else on the thread experiences anything similar.

Well, had my first appt yesterday and had an ultrasound. Everything looks good and I'm measuring at 7.5 weeks. Heartrate was 154 bpm. I forgot how tiny babies start out until I saw the little gummy bear on the ultrasound.

I updated on the appointment board, but here's the same thing:

I finally had my appointment yesterday! Lots of info and they have big plans for me. They want to see me every 3 weeks instead of 4, but I had to schedule for 4 weeks because they were really booked the week of labor day.
No ultrasound, but I get one when I go back the 13th...and many times after that.
Because of all of S's history (big baby, shoulders stuck, stillborn), I was told that if by 39 weeks, if I don't go into labor on my own, they're recommending a section. A year ago I would have scoffed at this and ran, but I think I'm going to come to terms with it. After all, at this point my only concern is bringing a healthy baby home with me at the end of it all. I am thinking, though, that maybe I can get them to induce me at 38 weeks, if my cervix is looking favorable. An induction at 38 weeks sounds better to me than a section at 39.
I'm already being pegged for GD. I don't take an official test until 20 weeks, but I've been told to eat and act as if I know I have it. He did take one blood draw for me, to see where I was at the moment with it.
My due date at the moment is still April 6, but they'll date it better at the ultrasound. This is now more important than ever, since I have that 39 week deadline.
So, next appointment is September 13th, and it's a long one!

Just got back from our first appointment! We were so happy when we got to see the little bean and hear the heart beat, and of course I got all teary. Heart rate is strong (167!) and he said all looks well. I'm still measuring on target for 8 weeks today with a due date of 3/27.

I really liked my OB and his staff were all great. The only hiccup was that after they drew all my blood I got lightheaded and passed out Luckily the nurses were wonderful and I'm feeling just fine now. Silver lining: I got apple juice and chocolate out of the deal!

@Dandelion: Glad your appointment went well! I totally agree, you gotta do what you feel is best for you and baby

Hope everyone is well. I keep missing when this thread pops up. And I've gone back to work so I've been consumed with that again!

Feeling okay here...getting VERY big! I finally told my boss today and she took it so well! I am so blessed. She is truly a family first person. She started laughing when i told her! It was a relief to get that off my chest. She was like "I was kind of wondering if it was a food baby or real baby!" Ha!

Some nausea at night and nothing ever sounds appetizing for dinner. I'd say this pregnancy is easier than my first so far which is weird. WAY more exhaustion and horrible nausea with the first. Hard to believe I'm nearly out of my first tri!

Glad everyone is having good appointments!

I'm 12 weeks today! Yay! I'm so excited for my appointment on Monday (pleeeeeaae let us hear the HB) so we can tell a few more people!

@Mrsjets: yay that's great!! I hope you can hear it too! Is your first US at 20 weeks?

  19. Mrsjets

    pear / 1699 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: thanks! Yup I'm only scheduled for 1 anatomy u/s at 20 weeks if all goes according to plan. We did do an elective 3D u/s at 29 weeks with DS so I think we'll do the same this time. It was a great bonding experience for DH and our families since is wasn't medical related at all. Plus it was nice to know 100% that it was a boy (which we learned at our anatomy scan).

  20. HazelEyes

    clementine / 811 posts

@fussygal: ohhh, I hate when that happens. I am a pass-er out-er when it comes to blood taking etc. I have to lay down for everything and stay there for a while bf I sit up verrry slowly. Glad you got treats though! That's never happened for me!

  21. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

DH told my MIL today. She actually said that she had a gut feeling that I was pregnant and she was actually planning on coming over this weekend and bring liquor to test me to see if I would drink (I admit, I'm a lush)! It's crazy! I'm glad we told her before that got awkward!

She's happy, but understandably nervous. DH told her about all the extra plans they have for me, and that made her feel a lot better about it. I'm starting to think that even though she's the usual worrier, my parents are going to be getting on my nerves about it more than she is!

  22. ChattyCathy

So if my only "morning sickness" so far has been just nausea if I don't eat and sometimes just blah feeling, will it turn into throwing up? I think I'm about 11 weeks. Just wondering if it could still get worse? I don't want o throw up without warning!

@Dandelion: ok that's a little weird she was going to liquor test you though, what the? I'm glad you guys told her though. It's really so nice to get it off your chest! Well for me at least, I can't keep a secret to save my life.

  23. ChattyCathy

So not sure if these count as cravings or just "random food that pops into head and I need it now" kind of things but I just made a sandwich on a hard roll with butter and pickles... And it was deliscious.

ETA: nevermind, I guess it's not a craving unless my husband is also pregnant. He just made one for himself.

  24. Mrsjets

@ChattyCathy: that actually sounds yummy right now. I'm in bed debating weather to get up for a snack...

  25. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

@Mrsjets: I hate that debate, but if I don't get up I know I'll throw up it's always right when I'm about to fall asleep suddenly I'm starving and have to pee.

What is everyone's plans for announcing to family/friends? When do you plan on telling if you haven't already? We have only told my parents and sister. I'm hoping to wait a few more weeks to tell everyone else. I'm 9 weeks now so ideally we will wait until 12/13 weeks unless I start showing sooner. In that case it's more stressful trying to hide it. A's birthday party is next Saturday and I really want to keep hush about it through that at least, I want the day to be all about her! What's everyone else's plan?

  27. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@ChattyCathy: Yeah...it is weird. I could have gotten around it, though, since DS is home this weekend. I don't drink around him.

@Bao: I think I'm telling my parents this afternoon. he trick is to get my mom away from DS to tell her, but DS is always trying to butt into conversations, so it's going to be tricky.

Everyone else will have to wait to know. I'm just not ready. Not a little argument with DH today. He thinks I should tell my siblings and stuff...I just feel nervous to tell anyone else before I have an ultrasound.

  28. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

@Bao: my mom insists I tell everyone next week after my ultrasound... She forgets I'm the prego not her. I'll probably end up saying something in October though. I've told the people that I want to know, everyone else I don't really need to tell or anything.

@Dandelion: I guess it's good I don't drink, I totally wouldn't be able to hide it. And just tell your husband you get to tell people when you are ready. Again like you said, it just makes your family worry and you don't need that extra stress.

@Bao: I told my boss this week and that was a huge relief. If all goes well at my sono/dr appt on Thursday, we'll probably go public since I'll be around 12 weeks. Not sure how we'll tell...my coworker thinks I should do a "bump reveal" but I am all about flying under the radar so a. I don't get distracted from my work and b. I just had a baby so it's not that big of a deal to me.

  30. Dandelion

I still didn't tell my parents. Maybe tonight, cause we're having dinner over there. But, my brother is in town today, so if he doesn't leave me to talk to my mom (or ds doesn't), I'm not going to be able to tell her. I'm not ready to tell siblings or DS, yet. Ultrasound first for them.

Most of our family and a few close friends know about this pregnancy. I will be more comfortable in a couple weeks about it. I have been pretty sick the last couple of days which has been awful.

Yesterday I was booked to shot my BIL's wedding and I was ok most of the day. However I was miserable for about an hour and a half. Lucky for me it was during down time, but more people found out then. I guess sometimes there is just no stopping the word from escaping. My mom took N home with her and I stayed with DH at FIL's house last night. N is spending the day with grandma and grandpa at a family reunion while I rest and try to recoupe a little.

I feel like I am not terribly active on here but I do read a lot, I promise. :))

Out immediate families and a few close friends know. They all know about our previous losses and would know if something happened to this one too. We will probably spread the word a little more after my appt on 9/3. I'll be 10.5 weeks at that point.

We told my mom, step dad, mil, fil, and sil yesterday on our first day of family vacation. They were soo excited. Bil and his wife are here too so we will have to tell them.. But his wife is a blabber mouth and I'm going to be really upset if she tells anyone. I cannot trust her and I'd rather not tell her. But she will call me on not drinking I know it!

We're having a big family BBQ this coming Saturday so we'll tell everyone then, I'll be about 11 weeks. Our immediate family and some close friends already know.

Do you calculate from date of last period or date of conception? I think I'm closer to 8 weeks because I know the weekend we conceived but dr says I'm 10 as of today. You'd think I haven't had a baby already but I'm so confused!

  35. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@MamaChin: well they calculate from LMP so that's what I go with.

  36. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@Bao: we told our families and best friends this weekend! That was always the plan, but we ended up telling about 8 more people than we had originally planned to because we were at a very close family friend's wedding. I'm feeling nervous now that more people know, but at the same time it's exciting! I will be 10 weeks tomorrow.

I'm going to talk to the mom I nanny for tomorrow because I have an appointment during the time I watch her kids and I want to give her a little notice. Still nervous but we saw the heartbeat and I'm still having lots of symptoms so I think everything is ok. I want to wait to tell my part time job until after 11 weeks.

  37. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@MamaChin: Have you had a dating ultrasound? My OB is going by my LMP, until my dating scan, which will be able to tell more accurately. I honestly don't know which day I conceived, but I know it's not more than a few days difference.

  38. MamaChin

    clementine / 830 posts

I have had a dating u/s and it concurs with my LMP date, so I guess that's what we'll go with. I just don't really get the science behind it? As if I don't have enough things to worry about haha. The baby will come when it's ready!

How's everyone feeling? Hope you're all enjoying the end of summer!

I told my mom today! She's excited and very supportive of me electing for a scheduled c-section. She just said, "I don't blame you at all for wanting that!" Totally not what I expected, so I'm happy. I told her she can share the news with my dad but not with my brothers quite yet.
She also said, "I wouldn't worry about anything with this one...it's ok to be nervous, I don't think there's a reason to be worried." Glad she thinks so...I feel the same way.
I feel better telling her for some reason...something about moms.
