I've been so tired these past two days. I'm loving it! Such a change from my stupid insomnia last week that made me so sick. I just hope the tiredness lasts tonight and that I fall asleep early so. Can wake up and be at work at 6 blah! I might go get some unisom though. Does anyone find it helped sleep at the same time helping the nausea?

@ChattyCathy: I've been tired, too...but I also have had insomnia...it's so annoying! But, at least with some spotting I have going on, it's nice to know that my preg symptoms are still going strong!

Hi everyone. Hope your Monday is off to a good start..

Mine kind of sucks because it's rainy and storming and I just got back from a week long vacation at the beach. Booo!

We told our family when we arrived on vacation.. 3 days before I hit 10 weeks. It was my mom, step dad, FIL, MIL, SIL. They were SO shocked and happy. I thought my mom knew but she had no idea!

The next day we told BIL and his wife. Of course the second we tell them she says "I KNEW IT!" UGH. She's been accusing me of being pregnant for the past year, so obviously at some point or another she was going to be right! She drives me mental.

That's all the people that know for now besides my BFF. I made it VERY clear that no one was allowed to say anything until my 12 week ultrasound. Everyone was understanding... and then my step dad emailed his dad and told him!! He lives far away and won't tell any one, but it was pretty frustrating. So my mom yelled at him and told him he better not tell anyone else.

ANYWAYS - long story short, great trip, and everyone is pumped! I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow and my US is next Thursday... 10 days away. Can't wait

@Dandelion: how are you doing today?

@Mrs. Champagne: Congrats on telling everyone! My mom threatened to tell all my extended family if I don't tell them soon

I'm going to throw up from nerves ladies. I have my first ultrasound today at 12.4 weeks. I'm hoping everything is ok. My cervix still seem low so maybe I'm not even pregnant. Ugh I don't know!

@Mrs. Champagne: Yay! Glad it went well this weekend

@ChattyCathy: LOL - you're silly! Why do you keep checking your cervix?? You don't want to cause an infection by checking it. At this point, you just have to trust that you're pregnant until you hear otherwise from your doctor. You'll drive yourself nuts constantly stressing and checking (and the stress is not good for the baby - or you). The first trimester is tough because you don't have a bump or kicks to remind you that all is well. But soon enough, that will come - I promise! Just try to relax and bask knowing you're pregnant

@BabyBoecksMom: I don't know?!? I am a serial checker. I know I shouldn't. I mean I wake up every morning ready to throw up my guts til I eat so I hope I'm pregnant? Sorry this weekend has been insanely stressful with work and I'm playing the what ifs!

@ChattyCathy: I'm good! No spotting at all, which is so relieving. I'm so tired, but since starting school last week, I'm just going to have to live with that. I'm suddenly having to remember how to balance my time, so I'm struggling a bit with that. But physically good otherwise.

Oy, so a few weeks back I wrote about how I felt I overexerted myself swimming and I was so freaked out the few days after, you'd think I'd have learned...
This weekend I walked probably 3 miles around the city with my friend, including a few big hills. I haven't been very active since being pregnant so of course I was feeling pretty winded and toward the middle of the walk I was getting all crampy in my legs and just felt tired. We only took a few small breaks and I wasn't drinking a lot of water so now I'm completely freaking out that I've done something terrible and my next appointment isn't until Sept. 13th. I tend to worry like a madwoman and can be a wee bit of a hypochondriac so I'm trying to reassure myself, but gosh if it isn't hard to now worry in these early stages! I just feel so guilty and silly for not thinking that it could be an issue until I was in already feeling poorly.

@chattycathy I think the nausea is a good sign! Stop checkin!

I'm having good and bad days, it's so hit or miss! Some days I can't get off the couch. I've been sleeping like crap and having all sorts of crazy dreams, and just can't get comfortable. I have been feeling tiny, tiny random nudges from the inside when I lay down and take a break, really cool, and definitely not something I even noticed last time!

@ChattyCathy: you've got to relax and trust in the process. What is checking everyday going to solve or prevent at this point? Absolutely nothing, but can make things worse. Hang in there, the days between now and your scan won't last forever!

@fussygal: I hear you about overdoing it, it's just so easy to do, then I pay for it that night or the next day and am exhausted!

  24. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@fussygal: Don't worry - I have overexerted myself more than I should this pregnancy, since DD is so active (and now super clingy). As long as you listen to your body and give it some rest, you'll be just fine. Babies are resilient. One day won't make that big of a difference, as long as you give yourself some rest and drink lots of water to make up for it

@lemondrop: Dude! So jealous of you right now. I swear I had a couple of nudges over the weekend when I was in bed, but I think I'm still way too early for that (only 9w 1d). I passed it off as gas, but it really felt like movement. I can't wait to start feeling those little nudges!

@ChattyCathy: when is your ultrasound? good luck!

  26. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@fussygal: I know what you mean. I worked a longer shift than normal on Saturday and I felt like crap Sunday morning. I'm a children's librarian so I'm up on my feet a lot. Plus I got busy and I don't think I drank enough water for a couple hours in the afternoon.

I also worked yesterday which normally isn't an issue but I am so tired today and feel a bit off. Trying to take it easier today but since I nanny 3 kids MWF it's not as relaxing as I would like

@debbiei8: @BabyBoecksMom: @lemondrop: Thanks for your feedback ladies, it is so helpful to hear! I really do love this community for that reason!

@lemondrop: So cool you're getting nudges!! I can't wait for that!

  28. lemondrop

    bananas / 9118 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: Cam was poking my belly button (not very gently as I'm sure you know!) and I felt something nudge back! Sibling rivalry begins.

I swear if I hadn't felt it before, I wouldn't notice it at all, but I concentrate on that feeling all the time now... my obsession!. It didn't feel like gas, and I'm convinced a prune/olive sized thing inside going ape shit is noticeable if you know what to look for

Hope everyone is feeling well!! The last few days have been weird, sometimes I don't feel pregnant at all? The first 8 weeks I felt super pregnant, like I knew the day after I conceived and felt like sh*t the entire time. But recently that feeling is lacking, I hope it's because I'm coming out of the first trimester nastiness but reading about all the recent terrible losses is getting to me. I feel like peeing on a stick just to see the line!! How do you even check your cervix?! How do you know what to look for?? I'm too squeamish to actually do it, just curious!

@MamaChin: I haven't really felt pregnant at all! I don't check my cervix, I'd have no idea what to look for and I wouldn't want to get an infection.

@Dandelion: Oh that is so good to hear! Are you a teacher?

@lemondrop: I wish my fingers could understand your logic!

@Mrs. Champagne: I just got done with it! Thanks

So I just got back from the tour/ultrasound/prenatal appointment and it all went so good. I loved the birthing center and it feels like a perfect fit. And the ultrasound was soooooooo crazy! OMG I AM ACTUALLY PREGNANT! I finally feels more real. The tiny little baby was in there dancing like crazy and waving arms and the heart was beating like crazy. I still can't help myself from feeling scared and my what ifs are still there but I am trying to stay positive. For now I am still kocked up Oh and I thought I was 12 weeks but I am 10.4 weeks. Which shouldn't really be surprising to me because of my dang long cycles but it feels kind of sad to have to travel back 2 weeks. Hope everyone else is having a good day!

Hi everyone! Glad to hear @ChattyCathy: that your ultrasound went well!!
And boy oh boy do I agree with you all talking about exhaustion. School started today, and I am utterly exhausted. I am so incredibly thankful I had the summer to rest. It sure will be a different year this year!

Glad to hear most are well. I had an u/s last week and baby was moving around a ton. Feeling good and getting very big! OB says I'm due anywhere from Feb 27-Mar 8. Only symptom really bothering me is my annoying tongue problem! It felt like I burned it last week and now it just feels bitten around the sides. It really hurts! Super bizarre and I'm chalking it up to the pregnancy because I have no idea what else it could be.

Love that you ladies are all doing so well. The losses have really affected me and I can't help but feel guilty...I know it's irrational but I can't help it.

I started a job on Thursday - it's only part time but full time for a month while training. OMG is it the hardest thing in the world to leave my LO, dive 45 mins, work for 8.5 hours, drive for 45 mins, make dinner, eat, and spend a few minutes of quality time before our bedtime routine. I miss him so much and I am so exhausted! Kudos to all the WOHMs!

On a happier note, my MS has got so much better! It's still there first thing in he morning and when I brush my teeth but its so much better the rest of the day Yay 2nd tri!

@Mrs. Champagne: nope! Super bizarre. Has made it hard to eat and uncomfortable to talk. DH thinks I should call my ob but I think they'll think I'm crazy.

@Mrsjets: it has made me sad as well. Keeping all in my thoughts.

Hey Marchies - I haven't posted in a while! I had a scan today at 12w5d, my first one!! Everything looks good apparently, but my blood pressure was a bit high (not surprised, I was FLIPPING OUT before the appointment when they took it - first scan and all, worried they wouldn't find anything in there like most I'm sure!) It feels a lot more real now!! I couldn't believe there was actually a little baby with a profile and a spine and everything in there!
Glad to have the day off work now, my husband and I just moved into our new house and I'm doing some cleaning up and settling in.
Hope everyone is still doing okay!!

  39. fussygal

@ScarletBegonia: @ChattyCathy: glad your ladies' appointments went well!!

Confession time, my husband is out of town for work and I may or my not have just eaten half a sleeve of saltines in bed (he hates food in the bed) I got a wave of hunger that I could tell would turn into nausea if I didn't eat fast lol. So far no morning sickness *knock on wood* so I try to stay far away from nausea!

  40. ChattyCathy

    cherry / 148 posts

Ok it's me again with the irrational fears.... How do you keep yourself busy for a whole month til the next appointment? And if the baby was 10.4 weeks and I saw it dancing and heard the heartbeat what are my chances of miscarriaging? I thought I would be feeling more comfortable and I did for a day but now I can't help thinking the bads blah!

I'm sorry I'm the emotionally unstable one of the group.
