We've told all of our immediate family plus a few close friends (and DHs work). I didn't want to tell anyone else until 11/12 weeks, but we were at a family wedding yesterday and told my aunts, uncles and step-siblings. It was totally worth it though to see their reactions in person We did have to make it very clear that we aren't making any announcements outside family (mostly trying to make sure they don't say anything on FB), but I'm still a bit worried one of them will leak it!
I'm a bit nervous about telling my job, just because I have no idea if I plan to return after March and if I did, what it would look like. I'm waiting to tell them until I around 12 weeks.

Well, I survived two plane rides, two hotels and two visits to the beach w/o DH this weekend, while I went to my cousins' wedding. My parents were able to help some of the time, but most of the travel was rough because I was toting around an overflowing diaper bag (which held all of my stuff plus DD's stuff for the whole weekend), a toddler that suddenly became very shy and wanted to be held constantly, and her car seat, which we strapped to a dolly.
I started cramping a bit from overdoing it w/ all the extra weight I had to carry around, and the morning sickness was always looming. I lost my cool a few times after DD decided that screaming is her new favorite thing to do when it's really quiet. But, she did great on the plane rides and she danced her little butt off at the reception, which made it all worth it.

@BabyBoecksMom: oh wow! You deserve a day off! I get cramps too if I do too much or work out at a higher pace. It's scary at the time though!

I had my 12 week appt and heard LO's heartbeat! 167! It was quiet but consistent. I'm so so happy all is good in there and am excited to be able to tell people! Our families and a couple close friends already know but it will be nice not having to hide it anymore

@PixieStix: welcome and congrats!! When I had my ultrasound they gave me the date of 3/21 but said give or take 5 days lol. So it's normal to have more of a range of dates!
apricot / 322 posts
Bao: Thanks! I figured as much with the dates. I secretly hope for a birth date of 3/3 since 3 is my lucky number. My dad likes to hint that it's close to his birth day of Feb. 24, of which he would not mind sharing with his first grandbaby!

@PixieStix: Welcome! My sister used to be an ultrasound tech and she said, in the beginning especially, that the date on the ultrasound can vary by up to a week compared to your estimated due date.

@babyboecksmom: fixed! Those 6 days could save you from intervention if baby decides to be stubborn

@Mrsjets: very true - I hadn't thought of that! All I could think of was that I'm now the last person on the list - haha! And this very well could be an April Fool's baby

@BabyBoecksMom: lol @ an April Fool's baby. You never know though - DS was 6lbs 3oz and 2 weeks early so I keep saying this one will be an 8 or 9 pounder and show up 2 weeks late

@BabyBoecksMom: I'm right there with you! I have April 1 in my head though based on when I think we conceived... we'll have to flip the meaning of that day if thats what's in store for us

@PixieStix: Welcome!!! Very happy to see to you here!
Today is the first day in a few days that I haven't felt sick all day. It has been nice to not feel like death.
How is everyone managing to stay hydrated? I am constantly so thirsty!!
coffee bean / 42 posts
@PixieStix: congratulations and welcome!!
@MrsRcCar: I have a rather large reusable water bottle that I constantly fill throughout the day. Having it with me all day seems to help me remember to drink more!
I had my second prenatal appt today! I'm 10 weeks 2 days. We were able to hear the heartbeat. It was amazing. Beating at around 170!
Hope everyone is well!

@Mrsjets: Yay! Are you going to do any type of big announcement?
@BabyBoecksMom: DH and i keep joking about having an April Fools baby (I'm due on the 27th) and no one believing that I'm in labor haha.
@BLUEDIAMOND: yay for the HB! Glad you got to hear
@pixiestix welcome!!

I'm having some spotting It's very light, only when I wipe, but my pelvis is a little sore. I called my OB office and I'm waiting on a nurse to call me back. I've been spotting a little here and there since Sunday, but I didn't feel alarmed until my pelvis started getting sore.
It sucks...I hope they can get me in to check things out.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@Dandelion: aww hang in there! I've had lots of spotting/bleeding and pain and all is well. Hopefully they will check you out to ease your mind.
pear / 1699 posts
@Dandelion: oh man I hope they get you in soon and find out baby is perfect. Thinking of you.
@fussygal: I am going to do something with DS - I was thinking of a simple 'I'm gonna be a big brother' shirt. But I don't want to do it until I feel comfortable with it on Facebook. I posted my first pregnancy related thing at 20 weeks last time but I'm already showing that much now at 12 weeks!
Don't be nervous about telling your boss, it's ok not to know what you want yet! I didn't know I wouldn't be going back until my (1 year) mat leave was almost over.
watermelon / 14206 posts
I talked to the nurse, and she said since it's only when I wipe, and I'm not cramping, it's probably just "normal" like my cervix or something. She told me to take it easy for a few days...pelvic rest and all that and keep an eye on it.
cherry / 148 posts
@Dandelion: I know this doesn't help, because it didn't really help me, but a lot of people do have spotting and cramping. I had them at around 4 weeks then again at 6 weeks and knock on wood I am still pregnant many weeks later. I know it's hard. Just try and take it easy When is your next US?

Thanks for the warm welcome, all.
Mrsrccar: I have a large Jamba Juice mug that holds 32 oz. that I try to fill twice a day (actually I got the mug from you if you remember!) Also, any almond milk or other fluids that come from my food.
Dandelion: I'm glad to hear the nurse said that. I hope you can rest well and calm your mind. Sending some good thoughts from over here.
Just realized yesterday that I have the lovely sciatic nerve pinching going on. I know very little about all the ins and outs of pregnancy so at first I was thinking, "How did I do this to myself?" But now after a couple of weeks and the pinching getting a bit worse, I looked it up to find it's a pregnancy thing. Have you all dealt with nerve pinching in the hip area?

Since you are new I wanted to let you know that if you click "reply" next to the persons name who you want to comment to, it will send a notification to them so they can see what you said. You can also reply to multiple people at one time, which is great! I hope that makes sense it took me a while to learn some of the tricks of Hellobee so I thought I would share one with you!

Just now getting caught up. Glad to see another march mama!
I have a sono on Thursday...feel like it's NEVER going to get here!
ETA: In the last hour or so I have felt a ton of baby movement! Is that crazy or what? If this weren't my second pregnancy, I don't think I would know the feeling, but its definitely baby movement! I'm in awe!

@matador84: My LO is 15 months. So she's still really young but I'm not. I'm 34 and wanted a 2nd LO, so I thought it be best to not wait any longer to try for LO #2

@PixieStix: I need to find a good big mug that I can take with me easily. Perhaps it is time to dig for my jamba mug.
Yesterday I had a pretty good day in terms of feeling ok. I got a full day without medicine. Today I have not been so lucky. I am staying home today and just going to rest up. I am hoping to feel better soon.
Has anyone else lost weight since they found out they were pregnant? I am down a little more then 10 pounds. I know my doctor is going to have kittens when I go to see her on September 3.....

@ChattyCathy: I'll probably just make a wish list on Amazon.com once we find out the gender of our babe.
@matador84: How exciting! I can't wait to feel the first movement of baby. Hopefully I don't mistake it for something else.
@X0X0X0: Welcome and congrats! Sending well wishes for a happy and relatively easy pregnancy.
@Dandelion: Yay! So glad. Thanks for the update.
@MrsRcCar: If the mug doesn't work, might I suggest this one: http://www.amazon.com/Camelbak-Eddy-Bottle-0-6-Liter-20-Ounce/dp/B006ZT87Z0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1377095818&sr=8-2&keywords=water+bottle
It can be found in regular stores (think I saw one at Walmart), but it's great because if it gets knocked over it doesn't spill, and you don't have to tip it back to drink from it. It's the other bottle I use.
I lost maybe 3-4 pounds initially but haven't weighed myself recently, but I'm gonna guess I gained those pounds back since my appetite has increased again.
