March 2014 Moms come in!

@lemondrop: so awesome! I'm jealous they could see something....our tech wouldn't even look at our scan last week

  2. lemondrop

@debbiei8: aww We just got lucky that our baby (and toddler!) was being agreeable and she had a few extra minutes. She had been running behind because the baby before us did not want to move for her, and she had been flustered since the parents were a little grumpy (man, how can you be grumpy seeing your baby?) and we came in all happy and relaxed with (thankfully!) an agreeable baby after a long wait. Just pure luck (and that he flashed her).

@ScarletBegonia: Oh I hope you get the promotion!! FMLA is only 12 weeks - you'll stay with the job much longer than that, so hopefully they remember that when making their decision.

@lemondrop: OMG!! So super jealous (again) right now!! Geez - you always get the fun stuff first

Here's a video of Baby Boeck #2 (excuse the commentary) at 10 weeks. (The bump-looking thing on the forehead is actually a hand). This one is SO much more mellow than DD was at this time, even after drinking a cup of coffee, so I'm hoping it's the same out of the womb I swear I felt a kick two different times this weekend, but I feel like it's still too early to feel them.

    @BabyBoecksMom: Love your video!

@lemondrop: so jealous. DH and I were planning on skipping the NT test but now I'm itching to see LO again.

  6. lemondrop

    bananas / 9118 posts

@futuremama: I'll be honest, it is 99% of why we went for the NT scan is because I wanted an ultrasound to see him again We of course want to be prepared if there is anything wrong, and a diagnosis as long as it isn't terminal won't make a difference, but ultrasounds are one of my favorite things about pregnancy.

Hi everyone! Almost 13 weeks here, and definitely feeling better in terms if nauseousness but the fatigue is not letting up yet!
We had the nt scan yesterday and it was so exciting seeing the baby! The baby was doing flips and flailing its arms. And about the question of feeling bigger yet, I sure do. I'm told that people don't show at 13 weeks... But my pants aren't buttoning! Used an elastic today and it worked well!
Happy to hear your appointments are going well! Have a great rest of the week.

@BLUEDIAMOND: aww yay for a good appointment!

  9. ScarletBegonia

    persimmon / 1339 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: Thanks - I'm extremely lucky that at my school I can take a full year's maternity leave (4 school terms) at 1/2 my normal rate of pay, or half a year at full pay. My plan at the moment is to take the full year off, so it actually does interfere with the promotion plans quite a bit. My supervisor told me that the leadership have basically made up their mind already whether they want me for the position or not, and that them knowing about my pregnancy wouldn't make a difference. We'll see! My best friend is an employment lawyer so if I smell a rat I won't hesitate to pursue my options.

In other news, I'm having THE WORST insomnia!! I wake up every night around 3 and just toss and turn!! Anyone else?

  10. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

Guys... My big brother is getting married next week and I have ha purple in my hair since June but its been fading to light purplish gray and it just wasn't pretty. So I decided to just dye all my hair back to brown for the wedding and the purple came out green. Kill me!

  11. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@ScarletBegonia: my insomnia has been horrible, too! I toss and turn from midnight to 4 and then finally fall asleep for an hour before my alarm goes off. So annoying... I don't remember having insomnia until much later when I was pregnant with DD. I think I might take some unisom one of these nights.

  12. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: That's crazy! Is there a way to style your hair so that the purple/green doesn't show?

  13. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: @BLUEDIAMOND: Those ultrasounds are amazing! I'm so excited that I finally get mine next Friday. I feel like I've been waiting EONS.

  14. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

My order from Carters came yesterday and was sitting on the porch when DS and I got home. I casually just picked it up and put it in the craft room/office/LO's room and went about business. DS didn't even ask a question. I panicked for a second, but apparently for no reason.

I'm def gonna tell him after the ultrasound, if everything looks good. I'm having a really hard time keeping it a secret from him!

  15. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@anonysquire: Eek! No advice, but that reminds me of a funny story of my best friend in high school. She had dyed her hair dark brown and wanted to go back to her original lighter brown. Her mom told her no because it would turn black. Well her parents went out of town and I stayed with her. After I went to bed she decided to dye her hair at like 3am. It turned out black....and patchy because she couldn't see the back and her hair was super curly. Her mom was SO mad, but now we laugh about it whenever it comes up.

Last night was the first time in months I didn't get up to go pee (I think, I don't remember getting up and DH doesn't remember me getting up). It was awesome but I almost feel more exhausted because it was my first uninterrupted night of sleep in a while!

Yesterday I had my first group prenatal class/appointment. It was pretty cool. I love the doctor (different from my own) she's very high energy and I feel lucky that I will know 2 of the doctors who might be there for delivery. I'm going to the university hospital, so there are a lot of doctors that could end up being there instead of mine. Baby would not cooperate with counting the heartbeats again. The doctor was about to pull out the ultrasound machine and then bam, she got it. I kinda wish she had gotten the ultrasound machine though

  16. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@Dandelion: well my hair is bum length and the whole middle was purple. Like a strip about an inch wide and 4 inches long that goes from roots to ends if that makes sense. I have had it purple for a year but finally realized the upkeep wasn't going to be pregnancy and baby friendly. And now I'm green....@Dandelion: And I'm so excited for your ultrasound. I must have missed it, what did you buy from Carter's??

@debbiei8: Lol I'm just glad mine wasn't patchy. But when I was in 10th grade my parents went out of town and my babysitter dyed my hair and it turned bright orange! Omg!! I'll take green over orange any day!

Ok ladies this is tmi but I keep thinking I feel cramping going on down there and it always ends up as a toot I wish I could freaking distinguish my innards from my uterus.

  17. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: Too much stuff, lol...I got a 4 pack of long sleeve onesies, 7 pack of white onesies with colored collars (both 9 month), a halloween sleep and play, a sleep sack, a melissa and doug puzzle and an elephant hooded towel.

It's all neutral and bigger, because if this is a girl, I'm all set until about 9 months. I already have tons of stuff from when I was expecting S. It would be really convenient if this kid is a girl, also!

  18. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: And, yeah, I get crampy right before a fart, or a poop, too. I get worried until it happens and then I feel stupid, lol.

  19. lemondrop

    bananas / 9118 posts

    @anonysquire: can you braid it?

    @Dandelion: I can't wait for your ultrasound!

@ScarletBegonia: uugggh, yes, sleeping like crap! I've forgotten all about this. I got up from 2-3 this morning and read a book. And moped.

@BabyBoecksMom: awesome video! Such an adorable bebe... I'm sending you tons of team blue thoughts, hope its contagious!

  20. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@lemondrop: moped! Lol you are way more ambitious in the middle of the night than me!

  21. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@lemondrop: I got up at 2 this morning, ate some cereal, surfed HelloBee and then went into the guest room to see if I could sleep (DH was snoring). Even though the bed is uncomfortable, I had some of the best 3 hours of sleep that I've had in a long time. I'm getting closer and closer to considering taking Unisom before bed, just so I can sleeeeeeeep.

  22. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

Ah I keep waking up between 2-3 to pee and then can't fall back asleep. Normally it's not the worst because I work from home so don't have to get up *too* early, but today is my office day so I had to be up at 6 and now I'm so tired and have a headache!

    How is everyone doing??

  23. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: boo! Sorry for your headache! Hopefully this weekend you gets lots of sleep!
I'm good, but had a random wave of nausea hit me about 90mins ago that's just going away. 11weeks with no puking and I want to keep it that way! Oh, and today we ordered a onsie with our alma mater on it to use in our announcement pic in a week! Excited

  24. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

@fussygal: ah that's so fun!! we haven't got anything yet, i want to though.. maybe this weekend!

anyone else having any pressure? i posted a thread about it.. it feels kind of odd. not sure if it's normal or not, but its weird! i was freaked until my NT scan showed my cervix is long and closed.

  25. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: yuck! I keep waking up about 100 times every night to pee. And I have to pee like a good 2-3 times before I fall asleep. Dang it! I don't think I'm having pressure? I'm not sure all what is going on down there!

@fussygal: I'm 12 weeks with no throwing up and I really hope it stays that way too lol!! I'm still having such a hard time deciding how we want to announce on Facebook and my extended family blogs and such. I know there has to be something babyish involved, and my cats of course and then I'm stumped there.

  26. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: what kind of pressure? I'm feeling something, but it's hard to tell if it's a postpartum or pregnant issue, lol.

Every time I wake up to pee, my lab steals my spot on the bed. I try to be stealth, but he is apparently very aware and he's always there when I return. I know it's only going to get worse as I have to pee more and more.

  27. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@anonysquire: I know how you feel, I'm not 100% sure about our announcement because I'm worried that people will think its weird. A lot of our friends just do the natural "figure it out in pictures" route. But I wanna do something cute, dammit lol. I'll think about a cute cat pun and let you know if I come up with anything! Any ideas yet?

They came up with "adding to our litter" I am still brainstorming a bit because with 3 cats I am not sure if I can get all 3 of them to pose for a picture. I don't know lol. But hopefully it is good.
