@Mrs. Champagne: I tried to reply and hit submit too fast. All you ladies being patient enough to wait, nice job! I wasn't even 4 weeks when I told my parents.

@anonysquire: haha, we live far away so we were almost 10 weeks before we saw my family (other than right after I just found out and didn't tell them).

We haven't told many friends yet either - so I need to get on that before the FB reveal so no one is upset they didn't find out in person/or phone!

@BabyBoecksMom: Nerd skills to the rescue - I love it!

I'm 12 weeks today and SO relieved to hit that milestone. Tomorrow afternoon is our next appointment and DH and I are making a whole afternoon/evening of it since we have to travel an hour away to our doc. I planned my appointment late in the day so we could stick around and get some dinner (restaurants in our small town SUCK) and maybe buy a few little things for the beh beh

Also, random side note: I bought some thick lotion cream last night to use for stretch mark prevention and it smelled SO good in the jar....now it's on my skin and it smells like nail polish remover

@Mrs. Champagne: my parents and I share a back fence so it's hard for me not to visit daily. And as far as friends go, I've told my BFF, my cousin today, a couple coworkers and that's it!

@fussygal: We're appointment buddies! Have fun at yours! Enjoy your nice dinner, too!

@anonysquire: @Mrs. Champagne: I waited until about 8 weeks to tell my parents and only them and my inlaws know. Well, also DH's work, but only because of our history and so that they're aware and can be prepared in March for when he takes some time off.

My bff knows, too, but because she went to the same ob/gyn as I'm going to now and just had a planned c-section, so I grilled her with all the questions about it that I asked HB.

That's it, though. I'm not sure a fb reveal will happen for me. I'm telling DS tomorrow, if my ultrasound is good, and calling my brothers probably this weekend.

@Dandelion: don't feel rushed to tell anyone! I just can't keep my own secrets for anything. It's horrible when Christmas and birthdays come around. And you get to tell people when you are ready. Let us know how the appointment and telling DS goes!!

My older brother is getting married today and I totally thought my morning sickness would be gone I'm 13.1 weeks today. Long story short, last time I went to a wedding ceremony in this same venue (LDS or Mormon temple) was my wedding and I had such bad anxiety I ran out of my own wedding. Not my finest moment. But I haven't gone back because I'm so freaking scared. And now today I'm scared and nauseous. Yikes!

There's a little PERSON inside of me! Its little heart is just beating away! Doctor said it looks great! It's real, now!
    And there's only one!
I'm measuring 10w 1d, though, so my due date is now April 10. I had a feeling I ovulated later since it took a while to get the bfp.
Little Thing was just kicking and wiggling away!
    Now, I need a nap.

@fussygal: congrats on 12 weeks! I'm 12 weeks today. Such a relief! I don't have another appt until I'm 14 weeks, but I'm finally relaxing a little bit. We're celebrating by going to lunch and painting our bedroom tonight...wahoo!

I told DS this afternoon! I showed him the ultrasound picture and asked if he knew what that was. He said, "S?" and I said, nope, this xray was taken today! Took him a second and said, "you have a baby in you right now??" Then he said, "I hope this one gets to come home with us!"
Then of course he asked if it was a boy or girl, lol. I told him we have to wait for that info, lol.

I had my 13 week appt today! The doctor couldn't find the heartbeat (I wasn't worried bc I'd been using my home Doppler) so I got a quick US, healthy heartbeat at 154 My anatomy scan is scheduled for October 25th!

Has anyone else scheduled their anatomy scan yet?

@Dandelion: I teared up reading that You have a sweet boy on your hands

@Bao: ha! I just scheduled my 16 week appt this week. BUT, I'll find out the gender next week or the week after ... whenever those results come in

  21. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

Since some of you are getting close to your anatomy scan, I thought it would be fun to figure out what the wives tales say, compared to what you're actually having:

Carrying (Low = boy, high = girl): n/a
    Heart rate (under 140 = boy, over 140 = girl): 154, girl
Cravings (Salty = boy, sweets = girl): boy
Ring test (circle = boy, back and forth = girl): n/a
Acne (no = boy, yes = girl): boy
Previous kids’ first word (dada = boy, momma = girl): boy
    Chinese gender chart: girl
Balance (clumsy = boy, graceful = girl): n/a
Side most rested on (left = boy, right = girl): boy
Morning sickness (none = boy, lots = girl): girl

    Overall: TIE!

    Oh how fun!

Carrying (Low = boy, high = girl): n/a
    Heart rate (under 140 = boy, over 140 = girl): 160, girl
Cravings (Salty = boy, sweets = girl): boy (because I think sour falls under salty?)
Ring test (circle = boy, back and forth = girl): n/a
Acne (no = boy, yes = girl): boy
Previous kids’ first word (dada = boy, momma = girl): n/a
    Chinese gender chart: boy
Balance (clumsy = boy, graceful = girl): n/a
Side most rested on (left = boy, right = girl): boy
Morning sickness (none = boy, lots = girl): boy

Carrying (Low = boy, high = girl): n/a
    Heart rate (under 140 = boy, over 140 = girl): 158, girl
Cravings (Salty = boy, sweets = girl): sweet, girl
Ring test (circle = boy, back and forth = girl): n/a
Acne (no = boy, yes = girl): girl
Previous kids’ first word (dada = boy, momma = girl): girl
    Chinese gender chart: girl
Balance (clumsy = boy, graceful = girl): n/a
Side most rested on (left = boy, right = girl): girl
Morning sickness (none = boy, lots = girl): it's equal to my pregnancy with S, which was more than the one with DS, so girl.

I'm hoping it's right! I want to be able to use all that stuff I bought for S. But, I'll be just as happy with a boy...it'll just take some more work to get clothes and stuff, that's all.

@BabyBoecksMom: did I mention that I'm slowly going crazy waiting to find out what you are having?? Next week, the week after? C'mon lab, get with it already! I don't remember being this obsessed with finding out last time, but it's all I've been able to think about this time around.

Appointment went well today! It took him about 15 secinds to find the HB which seemed like an eternity until he asked if my bladder was full (it was very full!) and tried a bit higher and BINGO! 163! We're going to take our announcement pic this weekend and post after I tell work on Monday

So jealous of/excited for everyone's upcoming anatomy scans! Ours is still 8 weeks away in early November.

@lemondrop: super cute announcement!! I love the way he has his arms out!

@lemondrop: LOL you make me laugh I'm actually pretty calm this time around, and I'm pretty convinced it's a girl.

We finalized our names last night! We will be using my grandpas name for a boy. And kind of wondering the reaction we will get from the other grandpa. But then yesterday when my alive grandpa (not the one baby will be named after) asked me how many grandpas I had kind of neenery I don't feel guilty. We have way too much family drama with my dads side of the family and my moms dad was such a wonderful man.
Sorry for the long confusing story!!

Carrying (Low = boy, high = girl): BOY
    Heart rate (under 140 = boy, over 140 = girl): N/A
Cravings (Salty = boy, sweets = girl): BOTH
Ring test (circle = boy, back and forth = girl): GIRL
Acne (no = boy, yes = girl): GIRL
Previous kids’ first word (dada = boy, momma = girl): N/A
    Chinese gender chart: BOY
Balance (clumsy = boy, graceful = girl): GIRL
Side most rested on (left = boy, right = girl): BOY
Morning sickness (none = boy, lots = girl): GIRL

    Overall: GIRL!!!!

    Hey! Long time no talk
Things have been going well with me, I'm almost 16 weeks (!!!!!) now - oh and for the list, my EDD is now the 7th of March, not the 6th of March. Such a small difference, but it seems significant!
I've been feeling pretty good, was out of town for a wedding this weekend and although I obviously couldn't drink (though i probably took more sips of my husbands wine than was strictly advised!!), I still had an AWESOME time, danced the night away and actually stayed up past midnight TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW!!! I couldn't believe it!
My belly is properly showing now, and most people at my school know. Still haven't made a f/b announcement, but my husband and i took some photobooth shots at the wedding, and in one he's kissing my belly so I think I might post those and let that be the announcement without actually coming out and saying it.
I have an apt at the birthing centre on Wednesday, and I'm not at all sure what it will involve - should be interesting!
    How is everyone???

So I"m officially out! Hit 12 weeks this weekend, and had my really good appointment on Thursday, so we started calling extended family and friends and I announced to my coworkers at a department meeting. Then apparently my whole school got the news in no time!

It is so strange for people to ask me how I'm feeling after being so secretive for what felt like forever. And I was surprised how many people were like, "I knew it!" Uh, no you didn't, haha

  37. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@HazelEyes: Woohoo! Yay for being able to tell people! We haven't announced fully, but I can totally relate that it will be strange to be asked so many questions after hiding it for so long!

  38. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

@HazelEyes: exciting! our closest friends and families know, and two co-workers. Most of the people DH works with know too.

I haven't told my boss!! He's not the friendliest. But I should probably tell him soon - if our weekly meeting is cancelled this week which its looking like it will be.. I won't see him until next week when I'll be 15 weeks 4 days! My pants are already too tight!

Anyone else thinking of names? We aren't setting anything in stone but we like Jack and Ella. We may keep names to ourselves (meaning from family and friends) because everyone puts in their opinion

  40. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

I'm amazed at how long some of you have been able to hold out telling people! I told people almost right away both times

@Bao: We already had names picked out from last time, so that makes it easy. We're thinking Caroline or Hudson
