Third tri today! I'm feeling pretty good physically but I'm an emotional wreck lately. I just feel like there is too much going on. We are remodeling our kitchen, and work has been a nightmare on top of the regular baby anxiety. I'm also not handling the weight gain very well. I'm right on track for a total of 35 lbs, but I just feel gross.

On a happier note, we started getting the nursery together, and my showers are all scheduled. One of them is 4 weeks from tomorrow!

I have an u/s and next appt on Jan7. Can't wait! I've been feeling okay, this pregnancy is overall easier than my first. I don't hurt as much, but getting bigger and chasing around a 16 month old is tough! I don't have much to do to get ready for dd since the kids are so close. We have a porta crib in our room and I got a cute little cart from ikea to hold her stuff. The dresser from ds's room will go in our room and a chest will go in his room. Can't believe it's almost baby year!

    Hope everyone is feeling good

Had my shower today! We live a few hours away from family so we thought doing it while we were home for the holidays would be best. It was fun! Got a LOT of clothes and a few things we registered for. Still going to have to get some things though! Also since we are in the city we picked up a dresser, crib, rocker, ottoman and some accessories for the babes room. Can't wait to put it all together. It's being painted this week!

Baby is kicking a ton lately and sometimes it's so hard it almost hurts. He's already running out of room it feels like!

    Have a great weekend everyone

@Mrs. Champagne: yay for your shower! Sounds like you got a lot of big things checked off your list for the nursery, too.

We are ordering our crib today and we bought our stroller and car seat yesterday. We bought locally and paid about $80 more than we would have on Amazon which had this bargain hunter internally freaking out, but we supported an awesome local business and that won out for us in the end. It's so exciting to see the stroller sitting in our living room

Hey ladies! Hope you all had a fantastic holiday!

I'm feeling huge but people are constantly telling me how small I am...it's kind of annoying. We have our elective 3D/4D ultra sound booked for Jan 11 - I'll be 33 weeks so I'm so excited to see her features! I hope she co-operates...

Most annoying pregnancy symptom I have right now is the restless leg syndrome at night, such s pain to try and get comfortable!

Hope everyone had an awesome holiday!

My holiday was busy as usually. For the most part it was good minus my uncle commenting how I lost all this weight and then I turned around and got pregnant so I am apparently going to get mega huge (read as fat) again. My mum and grandma jumped all over him about it. I had a doctors appointment the day after Christmas and I am measuring a little small but my doctor isn't at all concerned. I have gained 8 pounds so far. She said at my next visit if I haven't gained anything or I am still measuring small we will sneak a peek at baby just to make sure everything is fine. I start every two week appointments now.

Yesterday, my mum and I went shopping and took N to the holiday light display at the zoo. We had such a good time but man I was beat way before we got home. Luckily N slept in too because I sure did. My best friend and her husband are coming to visit today I am pretty excited I haven't seen her in a while.

@Mrs. Champagne: Sounds like you had a great shower!
@fussygal: Hooray for supporting local business!! I work for a small business so I love it when people support local or small business!
@Mrsjets: Enjoy that ultrasound! I wish I could squeeze another 3D/4D ultrasound in. Hope you post a picture or two.

@MrsRcCar: I will definitely post a pic I'm glad your mom/grandma talked to your uncle so you didn't have to...how rude!

    @HazelEyes: 2014! Eek! It's 61 days until my EDD!

I've hit 26 weeks...and when I think that it's only 10-13 weeks left to go, I realize I have soooo much to do! I need to stop dragging my feet!

My SIL told me this weekend that she and my brother are expecting a baby in August! I'm excited! Their daughter is 4, and she and DS are best buddies. They simply adore each other. I was thinking this weekend, while watching them together, that now LO would be a third wheel...but he's not! He gets a cousin his age, too. Lots of pressure to bring this baby home, though, lol. I don't have much doubt I can do it at this point, though.

  12. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@Dandelion: my brother and his gf are expecting a baby in June, so my LO will have a cousin very close to his age too!

@Bao: I have been MIA too! I have been reading the board, but couldn't find time to post with the holidays!

I feel like the third trimester hit me like a ton of bricks! I hit 28 weeks last Monday and have felt much more uncomfortable...we drove home from North Carolina on Saturday/Sunday and the drive Sunday was pretty miserable because it felt like he was up in my ribs the whole time (9 hours). He feels incredibly high (my right rib is sore from the pressure) and it makes my everyday tasks much more difficult. My back has been hurting a lot as well...but that might just be from sleeping in other beds.

Hope everyone had a good holiday! It's almost baby year!

Can't believe how close we are! I hit 30 weeks tomorrow and I've got not one thing done. Well that's not true, I've bought baby girl a pair of pants cuz it was $3 and a girl version of a necklace I own...super practical I know. Thank goodness I was lazy and didn't put away LO #1's clothes!

I can't believe how close it is - I was just realizing that I (also) haven't done anything to prepare for #2. I have at least 12 weeks, and told myself I wouldn't do anything until after DD's bday (1/22), but I know that trying to get everything done in 2 months is pushing it.

  15. matador84

    papaya / 10560 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: It didn't hit me until the week before last I didn't have anything done. I've been on a break from work so I have tied up pretty much all loose ends except getting DS's room ready.

I feel like all I need to do is whip out the carseat and get some diapers and I'm good for it!

Hi ladies! I have been having Braxton hicks like non stop the last couple weeks. I can only assume that this is a good thing! How is everyone doing?

  17. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: I've had braxton hicks all the time too. I'm having them more with this pregnancy than I ever had.

@Dandelion: im going to pretend that they are preparing my body so when the time comes and i sneeze the baby falls right out. I can hope.

Oh and I would like to know why my large hips need to be openimg up? I am in so much pain and my dang hips are big enough already!!!

I had my 29ish week appointment today, I was in and out in 20 minutes, which was really nice! My family is coming into town next week for C's birthday, so we are hoping to get a 3D/4D done then too so they can see this kiddo.

@debbiei8: OMG, I hear you on the pain of sitting so high! I can't believe the differences between how each of my pregnancies have felt- the good news is he's gotta move down at some point! That just happened this last week and I feel so much better... but have to pee all the time I remember with C I did a 31 week roadtrip from Colombus-Chicago-Indianapolis and back, that was super uncomfortable!!

@matador84: @BabyBoecksMom: add me to the list of not having anything done at least newborns don't need a heck of a lot in the early days!

@Bao: We're the placental lakes confirmed? How is baby doing? Sorry if I missed an update, just curious/concerned.

I love that I'm not the only one who hasn't done anything. Now that Christmas is over I'm going to have to get started. At least with #2 I know what is unnecessary!

So I had an appt today at 31.5 weeks and have gained 23 lbs. How are you all doing for weight gain? I've gained a little less than last time but I was 7 lbs heavier to start.

  21. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@Mrsjets: Hey thanks for asking! I had an U/S 8 weeks ago, and then another follow up U/S a few days ago and the lakes don't seem to be presenting a problem and baby is 2lbs 8oz, which is great for this point, so they aren't concerned with growth.

I've only gained about 2 pounds so far, I have NO idea how...With A I think I gained 18 pounds. I think my weight gain started after 30 weeks last time though.

We will also be starting on the nursery this month, finally!

  22. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@Bao: Glad to hear that things are going well!

@Mrsjets: I think I've gained around 16 lbs. so far, but I haven't weighed myself in about a week so I'm not sure. I have an appointment this afternoon so I'll come back to update. I didn't start gaining weight until about 20 weeks (I'm 28 today) so I feel like 16 is a lot for 8 weeks. I swore I wouldn't be one of those people to freak out about weight but now that I feel so huge it's definitely on my mind a lot.

  23. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

Gah! You ladies are making me feel awful about my weight gain. I'm up 26 lbs and I am due at the end of the March!! Even though that's an average of 4.5 lbs per month, it's still WAY higher than everyone else on here. How do you do it??? haha

  24. Mrsjets

    pear / 1699 posts

@Bao: oh that's awesome! So happy she's growing perfectly

@fussygal: I gained close to 40 with #1 and I lost it (well most of it) within a year without much work so I'm not as worried this go round. From your bump pics you look great!

@BabyBoecksMom: I vomit, a lot I'm starting to catch up now through

Oh man, the heartburn is settling in, now. I'm gonna have another hairy baby. That's totally DH's fault!

  27. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: I don't know how I do it. I ate like a pig the month leading up to my last appointment and I was only up 6 lbs. I have another appointment next week, and I haven't stopped eating like mad, so I'm curious to know what I weigh, now!

  28. ScarletBegonia

    persimmon / 1339 posts

I have no idea how much I've gained. I'm 31 weeks tomorrow. I haven't been weighed or weighed myself since 12 weeks, when I was up 10 lbs from pre-pregnancy. I took some more care with my eating and exercise since then, but I'm pretty sure I have gained a heap of weight. My GP and midwife don't seem concerned so neither do I..?
I'm feeling pretty great still, but getting royally confused about strollers...we got given an old Peg Perego Skate stroller from my SIL, but it's REALLY heavy and a bit wrecked (they've used it through 2 kids and its a 2008 model) so I don't think we're going to use it...so I've looked at Bugaboos on eBay and gumtree (like Craigslist in Oz), and some new Uppababy's and Striders. The more I look, the more confused I get I have a bad back so I need to get something on the lighter end of things, and with a bassinet attachment because that's what the kid is going to sleep in at first. Ugh. Too many things to consider! I want to buy the top of the line Stokke Xplory for $2200 and be done with it (kidding!).

@Mrsjets: had my 29 week appt today and I'm up 14 lbs so far. I want to stay around 25.

Things are good over here. Really wanting to get things organized! I have a bunch of clothes for babe and some cute nursery stuff, but I don't have anything for feeding. No bottles, no pump etc. maybe I should research that this weekend!

Any STMs have advice for a pump? I plan to BF and will be a SAHM so don't need to worry about pumping at work. How many bottles will I need? So hard to know if bfing is going to work out or not!

  30. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@Mrsjets: aw, thanks! When I went in today and they said weight was "on track" so I didn't bother to ask the number. Ignorance is bliss

@ScarletBegonia: strollers are so hard! It took me forever to pick ours. I hope you're able to find a good deal!

  31. HazelEyes

    clementine / 811 posts

I had my 28 week appt with an ultrasound today! Baby looks great, measured a week ahead at 2 lbs 14 oz, (so like a 29 week baby instead of a 28 week baby) which is the 71 percentile, but my dr. said it wasnt anything to worry about yet, that babies vary a lot right now and next u/s at 34 or 36 weeks Baby could have plateaued and be back in the 50th. U/s tech said the fluid around baby looked good, kidneys, heart, liver look good. Head is currently down with feet up by my left ribs and hands over toward my right side--which explains this new rib-kicking s/he's into lately.

I think I’m up about 14 lbs at this point, but I could tell Baby had a growth spurt the last week or two. And there was the Holiday eating… oops. Back to salads at lunch. They didn’t mention my weight though, so I’m going on with what I’ve been doing. We got some good pictures. Baby really looks like a baby! Has a cute little face that is totally distinguishable! Yay!

    coconut / 8483 posts

@HazelEyes: yay for a good ultrasound!

Does anyone else have more ultrasounds? I had mine at 19 weeks and I won't have another one they said (pending no complications)

  33. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: I have one at 32 weeks due to the location of my placenta. It was a little too close to my cervix. It should move up as baby grows, but they wanted to do another ultrasound just to make sure it moves. My doctor wasn't overly concerned because it should move so it is kinda like a bonus ultrasound!

  34. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: I'm about to have a lot. My office routinely does them at 32 weeks but I will have some extra monitoring.

Tonight I realized that March is only 2 months away! Crazy!

  36. prettylizy

    GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: I bought a medela freestyle as my pump and it was/is awesome but might have been a little overkill since I didn't need it to be super portable. I'd look into Milkeis Milk saver too. I found that once we hit our stride with nursing just catching my let down on the other side I was able to save 4-5ozs every day without having to pump. We had a super easy time breastfeeding so I didn't end up using my pump much at all. Less than 40 times in her entire 15 months of nursing.

@Mrs. Champagne: no more ultrasounds for me either unless something goes wrong

I have my last u/s on Tuesday-32 weeks!

  39. fussygal

@Dandelion: I know, two months is SO close! I was just thinking about how many paydays we have until baby and how much we can put into savings and was slightly shocked when I thought of it in those terms - haha.

  40. Mrsjets

    pear / 1699 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: I only had 1 u/s at 20 weeks which was the anatomy scan. No more medical scans are scheduled. We are doing an elective 3D scan at a boutique next Saturday to take a quick peek like we did with our first. Are you in Canada too? Also, I had the Medela swing (single electric) with 6 bottles and it was perfect for me since I EBF. DS did take a bottle every day or every other day from DH.
