@ScarletBegonia: nope! Just the opposite...planning a c section. I did natural twice before though. Just try to relax and focus and you'll be fine!

I have been having bad vertigo the past few weeks and it was particularly last night. I rested but still had it, along with some contractions. It put me on edge but I was fine all day today.

@lemondrop: just saw your pics - they are amazing!! I wish our tech would have told me to be really hydrated because I'm not all that happy with our pics.

@fussygal: that sounds like a cute theme

@ScarletBegonia: that's awesome that so many are able to come in for your shower. I'm going for the epidural again this time. U can't do pain lol

@lemondrop I was thinking of making flash cards or a similar cheat sheet, too! I figured it can't hurt and I'm sure I'll forget everything on the heat of the moment!

@babyboecksmom boo to vertigo! So sorry

Had my appointment this morning. The Dr said that i can definitely be scheduled to do a c section at 39 weeks but they won't do it any earlier unless they have a better reason. They're gonna do ultrasounds starting at 36 weeks and if it looks like he's getting too big then they'll put in orders to section of I go into labor early. But if he's not looking big I just go to the hospital and monitor me and if there is ANY pause in labor there will be a c section. But if I'm progressing well and am having a fast labor like with DS they'll have me deliver naturally. I'm measuring right on track right now.

Somehow I only gained another 3 pounds. I don't know how. I eat like mad!

    I''m on biweekly appointments, now!

Hey ladies, just got back from our elective 3D scan. Baby girl was resistant to get her picture taken but we did get a couple decent shots. Here she is at 33 weeks and below a pic of Joel at 29 weeks to compare - I think they look so different!

I can't believe I'm starting bi-weekly appointments on Monday! This pregnancy is going 10 times faster than with A. We haven't even ordered her crib yet. I hope she stays put for a while so we can get through A's hip procedures first!

@Mrsjets: cute! And they do look so different!

Is everyone doing 2 week appts? My midwife said "come back in 2-3 weeks" and then the receptionist scheduled me for 3 weeks and 1 day later. Sometimes I think they push off appointments. Most of my 4 week appointments were closer to 5 weeks apart.

  10. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: Well as I just mentioned, I am. I have been pretty on schedule with every 4 weeks, now 2 weeks then soon to be every week once 36 weeks hits. I sort of think it's silly to go every 14 days though. I could see if my pregnancy were high risk or something but it's not, so far, so it seems a bit much. I have to take LO to my moms, drive to my appt, pee, BP, weight, measure, go back and get LO packed up and go home. Kind of a pain since the appointment doesn't really consist of much.

@Bao: I missed an update--how did the appointment go for A?

Fun that everyone is getting close. This pregnancy has flown by for me, with the exception of the past week...it keeps dragging on! Trying to eat a lot more since I didn't gain anything at my last appointment, had eggs this morning for breakfast and lost them just about as soon as I had finished breakfast...gag.

I have one more 3 week appointment and then he'll do either a 2 or 1 week appointment thereafter. I had 1 week appointments the last week because I was 100% effaced and 1 cm dilated at 36 weeks. I'll probably go pre-register for the hospital after my next appointment at the end of the month also.

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@matador84: eww eggs lol. I haven't gained weight like at all...my OB hasn't said anything I wonder if I should ask about it? How far along are you now? A goes in the 21st to be put under and have dye run through her, then if needed she will be put in a cast from her chest to her ankles. She would wear that for 3 months with a 6 week cast change inbetween where she would have to be put under again. Trying to stay positive!

@Bao: i kept saying to dh, "i'm so gaggy, i feel like i'm gonna puke." he told me to stop complaining and then felt so bad!!

i'm 33 weeks--they think my due date is march 8, but i am really thinking i'll go the last week in february. my ob isn't worried until i start losing, but i know i haven't been eating enough because i've been so nauseous. you haven't put on any weight?! WOW, jealous. I think I have put on about 25 which is WAY less than DH, it was about 65. I had just gotten back to pre-baby weight then got pregnant again.

poor baby! hopefully everything goes well for her!!!

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

    @matador84: thank you!

Yeah, I've gained *maybe* a couple pounds (2-4?), it's hard to say because I lost weight with nursing but right now I'm at the weight I was before getting pregnant with A, which I consider my normal weight. I was sick at my last appt though so maybe I've put on some pounds since then! Baby weighs 2.5 pounds right now so theres obviously weight being put in there somehow

I feel like the baby is biting me way down low. As far as I can tell (feeling a huge ol bum under my belly button and feet n my right love handle) the baby is head down. Sometimes I feel hiccups way down there and sometimes I feel like inside bubbles or tiny bites or something lol. I don't know how to describe it. Does anyone know what I mean??

@anonysquire: I remember that feeling well With Cam I always figured it was him scratching me based on the positioning, he came out with some monstrous fingernails too! So far I haven't felt that with this guy, but there is a left knee that I am getting to know extremely well!

    How's school going for you?

  19. ScarletBegonia

    persimmon / 1339 posts

I know this is the exact opposite of what you are all dealing with, but I CANNOT handle the heat right now!! Its been 28-30+ every day, which actually isn't that bad, but the humidity is killing me. I'm so uncomfortable overnight as well, as the temperature doesn't really drop much. And now they are saying the heat is going to get even worse in the next week!! I'm just so happy I don't live in Melbourne, where its meant to be 40-42 degrees every day next week! This is the first time I've really felt uncomfortable so far in this pregnancy. Air conditioning is my best best friend right now!
We finally bought a stroller, and we went with the uppababy alta (I think its known as the cruz in the US and UK. Love it! We also got gifted a running stroller from one my husbands coworkers.
I went to a bachelorette party yesterday which was.....interesting as a sober person! But I still managed to have fun and i must admit it was nice having lots of questions and interest in my pregnancy.
Anyway! Just a general update, hope everyone is doing okay, its starting to get really freaking real up in here - the Jan 2014 updates have been making me super emotional, to think that will be us in only 2 short short months! x

@Mrs. Champagne: I was supposed to stay monthly until 32 weeks, but they switched me to 2-week appointments (next one's at 30 weeks; I'm 28.5 now) because there was protein in my urine at the last appointment. So I think it varies a little based on the provider and the patient.

@mrs. Champagne. I'm on 2 week appointments now, too. I go back on Wednesday and it feels like I was just there! It's an hour away, too so that makes it even worse. Not to mention we have to go up the night before for birthing class, so every other week I have to drive up there twice per week. Blah.

We did our big IKEA run yesterday and we got some awesome stuff that I'm excited to get together this week. Plus our crib should be delivered tomorrow. Out house is a disaster with boxes right now!

How can you all tell which body part is where? I still have no idea. Sometimes I think I feel her butt up high and limbs on the sides but I really have NO clue!

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

Also, anyone else having leaky boobs? Every few days I feel a tingly feeling in my nipples that almost hurts but not quite, which I'm assuming is letdown? After, there is usually a little stain in my bras or on my shirt. It's happening more frequently lately and makes me glad that I wear padded bras!

  23. ScarletBegonia

    persimmon / 1339 posts

@fussygal: Yep I've been having leaky boobs for about 5 weeks now. It seems to happen really randomly, the only time its reliable is when my husband and I are intimate! Which freaks him out. But he'll just have to get used to it I guess!
I'm sooooo excited, I'm about to go pick my parents up at the airport, they will be in Sydney visiting for a month!! And coming back again when the baby is born. So happy to have parents that are spry enough to still take 18 hour plane rides to visit their daughter!

    I FAILED my glucose test...miserably...with a 187.
I know it's crazy, but I'm SO happy to know this. After 2 pregnancies that had GD, but it wasn't diagnosed, either in time or at all, it's a relief to know it and know that I don't just make big babies for no reason.
No I get to go to a diabetes clinic, monitor my sugar levels, and make sure this baby comes out healthy! (And not early OR stillborn!)

Well, I'm on 2 week appts (next one on the 21st). I've been having regular contractions (NOT BH!!!) every night for the past week. Not sure why I'm getting them, but they hurt. I'm only 30 weeks so I need this girl to bake a bit longer.

@Bao: @Dandelion: big hugs to both you ladies

@ScarletBegonia: avoiding the heat is the main reason we tried to get pregnant (both times) when the weather was cold. I understand how hot and miserable it gets in the summer (I live in TX), and I wanted no part of that. You're almost there!!

  26. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@Bao: I hadn't read your update, but I'm sorry you guys have to deal with that. The baby I watch has club feet and had to be in leg casts the first like 12 weeks after he was born I think. It was rough, my thoughts are with you guys!

@ScarletBegonia: ugh sorry about the heat! We purposely planned to avoid summer weather and pregnancy because I just can't deal with the heat! Plus I watch kids so I have to go outside a lot in the heat.

I'm on 2 week appointments now. Next week I have an ultrasound to check my placenta placement and make sure it moved away from my cervix.

My mom felt my belly over the weekend and thought baby was kinda transverse but on a diagonal with his head in my right hip. But he might be head down and just moving from time to time. I'm hoping he stays head down because I'm pretty short waisted so he doesn't have lots more time to turn! Apparently all of my mom's babies were breech at term but flipped before she went into labor.

Does anyone else's belly get hard and stay hard when you are moving a lot? I don't think it's contractions but it can be pretty uncomfortable and draining because it happens at work almost every shift!

  27. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@debbiei8: Hopefully he'll flip soon. It sounds like you're having Braxton-Hicks contractions. They get annoying, but it's preparing you for labor.... at least that's what I was told (even though I started having them at 18 weeks with both pregnancies)

  28. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

@Dandelion: oh no! but glad you got diagnosed.

My back has been killing me! Lower and upper So I went to yoga last night and I was the only one there, so I told her about my back and she said we'd just have a shorter class and focus on my back. EVERYTHING she did made it worse. Not sure where she was coming up with some ideas but they didn't even seem right for a pregnant person (it was prenatal yoga). Ugh. Massage tonight that will hopefully help.

Can't believe we are getting so close!

    When is everyone working until?

  29. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: I'm sorry about your back pain I'm sure that massage will help (and it sounds heavenly!). I'm working until this baby comes... whether it's now or after my due date... so I can spend as much time w/ her on my maternity leave as possible.

  30. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: I was thinking BH too, but it doesn't really come and go. It's just a tight/heavy filling during my 4 hour shifts. I move a lot (work at the public library) so I wonder if it's a combination of some BH and my muscles just working harder to support the weight? My mom wasn't too concerned...I'm just worried because I don't think I've felt any contractions even though my mom thinks I have been having them (she's an L&D RN). The tightness goes away when I get home and sit down which is probably a good sign anyways.

    @debbiei8: Thank you so much!

  32. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@debbiei8: don't worry if you haven't felt any contractions - take it as a blessing Besides the BH, I didn't have any until the day I went into labor.

  33. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: I think I'm more concerned I'm having them and don't realize it. I really can't tell what BH contractions feel like. I'm mainly worried now because the person at my childbirth class freaked me out when she said we shouldn't have more than 4 BH in an hour and they shouldn't last longer than 30 seconds and I don't have a good idea of what BH feel like. I have felt a couple tightening and loosening type feelings, but I kinda thought that was baby pushing his butt/back out? I'm guessing the hard belly is just from activity because I definitely don't feel tightening and loosening like people describe for BH.

My bosses finally figured out my maternity leave and it's a very nice policy with a fair amount of flexibility after I get back - I'm REALLY happy to have it settled! Now DH and I can better budget for my time off.

I had an appointment and my 3 hour glucose test today and will know by end of day tomorrow if I failed. I felt like a pincushion with the finger prick, three blood draws, AND a tDap shot!

We also found out that baby's head is down (yay!) and now I kind of have an idea of what I'm feeling when I poke around

@Dandelion: Glad they diagnosed it! You said you have already been doing a mostly GD diet, right?

    @Bao: 30 weeks tomorrow - can't believe it!!

@BabyBoecksMom: Oh no - hope those contractions go away or turn into BH. Cook baby, cook!

@Mrs. Champagne: I'm working as late as I can! Luckily I work from home so it shouldn't be too hard to work up until I go into labor.
