Well it looks like E will be here sooner rather then later. They can't stop the labor. My doctor is coming to break my water and we are gonna have a baby. I have already cried, this is too early.

Update: little E will be here very shortly. I am 9 cm and completely effaced. I am feeling a lot of pressure but I am comfortable. We are hoping that he will be stable enough to stay with us for at least a little while. He will have to go to special care nursery just because he is preterm. We are praying all goes well.

Little E has arrived at 6 pounds 4 ounces at 6:03 am (est). He is having some trouble keeping his oxygen up but otherwise ok. They took him to special care already to see if he perks up sooner. I will get to go down and see him soon.

@MrsRcCar: Congrats again, I hope you get to see him soon! 6 lbs 4 oz sounds like a good weight! I think my brother and sister were both around that weight at birth and they did great!

Little E is on CPAP but tolerating it well. Otherwise he is doing well. Dh and I are going to go down and spend some more time with him.

@MrsRcCar: yay! Thanks for keeping us updated, we're all rooting for the little guy!

Had my 35ish week appointment today, he's is still head down, heart rate was 140. Been having a couple braxton hicks a day that take my breath away, but nothing steady or regular, thank goodness! My blood pressure was a little higher, but they were fine with everything. My instructions were to keep baking another week (that hit home a lot more this morning after our first March baby arrived in Feb!)

I go back next week and start the weekly appointments now, get my GBS and hopefully a dilation check next week since I'm curious where things are at now.

@MrsRcCar: omg I'm so far behind on this thread! I'm sure that was so scary, but glad to know he's tolerating the cpap. Keeping you guys in my thoughts.

@fussygal: @lemondrop: Thanks ladies! He is doing about as well as expected so that's all I can ask for.
@Mrs. Champagne: I am pretty sore but otherwise I am ok. Just spending a lot of time down with him in special care.
@BabyBoecksMom: thanks! It was scary but he is on the best hands in the region so I have faith that he will be just fine.

E is still tolerating CPAP very well just needs more practice at breathing. He has improved a lot since I say him this morning. I am going to catch up on some sleep and then go back down and keep my little guy company.

@MrsRcCar: oh he is just precious, so happy things are moving in the right direction Take care of yourself too momma.

Well, I had to spend part of the night on the couch because I have this annoying upper back/rib pain, no matter what position I lay in on our tempurpedic bed. (go figure!) I'm not sure what's causing it, since it's around my shoulder blade, but even sitting at work is uncomfortable. Hopefully it goes away soon and doesn't last the next 7 weeks.

@MrsRcCar: get your rest so can take care of both kiddos. Do they have an idea when he might be discharged? Or is it going to be "wait and see" for a while?

  28. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: could it be heart burn?? i had that type of back pain and it was heart burn!! try a tums and see if that helps!

  29. Mrs. Champagne

@MrsRcCar: hope your little man is doing well today!

  30. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: hmmm - I hadn't thought of that. But it's a different type of pain... more like dull achy joint/muscle pain. I'm going to try the tums out now though!

  31. MrsRcCar

    grapefruit / 4712 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: They are saying wait and see right now.
@Mrs. Champagne: he is better now.

Little E is now off CPAP because he developed a small air leak in one lung. They moved him to an oxygen hood and he is doing much much better. He seems to be much more content under the hood. They did start talking about nasal oxygen so he can actually eat. They said that he will likely need to start on small bottle feedings, just to make sure it is going the right place. I am pumping every two hours or so and producing some colostrum for him so I am pretty pleased.

@MrsRcCar: he looks so sweet and peaceful in the hood! That's great about the colostrum and it's great to hear the hood is working better for everyone!

@BabyBoecksMom: I have a spinal headache and my left foot is still numb. They are taking me to get a blood patch soon to stop the headache.

Has anyone else experienced sharp pains in their cervix area? I have been having them for the past week or so. They happen most often after I go to the bathroom or if I stand up with a full bladder. Sometimes they are really painful...like I have to stop walking. I'm thinking it has to do with the pressure on my cervix. I have been checked for a bladder infection 2 times in the past month and both came back negative so I don't think it is an infection.

How's everyone doing? Getting things done? We have a lot of work planned this weekend for organizing and finishing our "to buy" list. It's getting so close for everyone!

    Here are E's birth stats:
    Weight: 6 lbs 4 ounces
    Length: 19.25 inches
    Date: 02/11/2014
    Time: 6:03am

@debbiei8: I had similar pains with N and E. They also told me that it was from them being head done and pushing against my cervix. I found supporting my belly when I got up really helped with the pain.

We just got back from the nursery and E is doing so well. I haven't been able to hold him yet (!) but I am trying to be patient.

I hope everyone else gets a lot closer to their due dates!!
