@MrsRcCar: Oops! I had his birthday wrong! I was trying to count back from your post announcing his birth but counted wrong! Sorry! It's great to hear he's doing well, but I really hope you get to hold him soon! Hopefully your headache is doing better as well!
I kept meaning to get a support belt, but I would end up feeling better and not buy it. Maybe I need to actually pick one up...it will probably help in these last couple of weeks. It makes sense that it's from his head pushing down! I'm kinda hoping it means things are moving along the way they are supposed to! Otherwise it would really suck to have this pain for nothing

@debbiei8: Don't worry about getting his birthday wrong. I was in labor all day on the 10th, I didn't even realize it was the next day until they announced his birth info. Lol. I bought a support belt and it helped. I didn't love it just because I am already self conscious of my body. My headache is feeling better!!! I am hoping I feel the same tomorrow about my headache. If it is still bugging me then they are going to do a blood patch, which sounds gross and scary but it's not. I just don't want another needle in my back.
What is everyone looking forward to most about their lo's arrival?

@MrsRcCar: hope the headache go away soon! What is involved with the blood patch?
I'm looking forward to meeting her for the first time and getting to know her and finally meet the little one who has been keeping me company for all these months

@debbiei8: YES! It feels like he is scraping the bottom and happens 2-3 times a day where I just have to stop and wait for it to pass. I'm so curious to find out where things are at next week during my appointment.
@MrsRcCar: I'd be itching to get my hands on him too, you have the patience of a saint! Glad your headache is feeling better, definitely not fair on top of everything else.
I'm really excited to getting to meeting him. So much anxiety over the when things are going to happen and who is going to watch C, I'm ready to just get there already, but I also want to get as much ready ahead of time for work too.

I keep floating between feb and March board. Dr appt yesterday, baby is in position and head down, fluid good! Dilated to a 1. Leaving my edd as 3/8 but my ob is pretty sure I'll have him last week in February!

@MrsRcCar: omg, soooooo happy for you!! dang hormones, I'm tearing up!
@matador84: yay! nearly there, always nice to hear you've made some progress!

@MrsRcCar: Glad the headache is getting better! They talked a bit about spinal headaches in my childbirth class, so I kinda know what you are talking about. Hopefully it heals up soon without the patch!
I've been trying to think of what I'm looking forward to the most with LO arrival but I'm having a hard time vocalizing it...I feel like there's so much excitement (and some anxiety) surrounding this huge event, it is hard to put my finger on one thing. I am really excited to see him for the first time and hold him. I'm also excited (and anxious) for breastfeeding and just getting home and getting to know him!
We are still working on his room. We have stuff to move out to our storage unit (the weather has not made this easy! I don't want DH outside in the arctic freezes we have had) and then we just have to organize and set up furniture! His crib showed up on Monday so we have that now! The rest of our furniture will be picked up at Ikea by a friend the first weekend of March.
I recently made two fun purchases from Etsy. The first is an outfit we might use as his announcement picture (for texts and Facebook at least). DH is a big video game fan and the outfit gives a hint to his nickname The second is a print for the nursery. It looks just like our doodle and DH loves the Big Lebowski so it's perfect!

@MrsRcCar: Yay! It's probably a great present for him, too. There's nothing like Mom.

@debbiei8: love your onesie!!!
@Mrs. Champagne: my head is better, still hurts a little but way better.
@fussygal: @Dandelion: He loved all the momma snuggles! It didn't want to put him back in the isolate but I needed to pump and he needed his antibiotics.
Apparently it took him a while to settle back down after I left, so right now he isn't only allowed out of his isolate once a shift (which is twice a day). Hopefully he will settle back down easier this time. I think part of the problem with him settling down was that the nurse laid right down on his back after we had been tummy to tummy. He doesn't like being on his back at all. (He is behaving like N did in that respect).

@matador84: I'm thinking I'll go in February too - but stranger things have happened! Can't wait to see your little guy.
@MrsRcCar: such s great VDay gift - he's seriously adorable!
I'm excited to meet her and have that mother/daughter relationship but so anxious over how I will handle 2 by myself. J is such a challenge for me as it is.

I haven't updated for a bit over here. I woke up yesterday with a ton of (warning TMI) bloody show. It was grody. So I just kept an eye on it, but anytime I would go to the bathroom I was having so much and I was starting to cramp and stuff so I called L&D and they wanted me to come in to be checked. They did the FFN test and it came back positive. Saw that I was having contractions that I wasn't feeling (not sure what that even means) and I am dilated to a 2 and 60% effaced and a negative 2 station. So basically still on my way to have this baby inside til I am 45 weeks.

@anonysquire: No way, all that bloody show has got to mean something! I'll bet you go early or on time.
Things have been good with me - I was at a wedding out of town this weekend (@37w-->37w3d), and SOOOO nervous the whole time that I was going to go into labour - we were only 2 hours out of Sydney so probably would have had plenty of time to get back to the birth centre if I had gone into labour, but I'm SO happy I didn't. Home now at 37w4d and ready to go anytime, unfortunately i've had less than no symptoms - no BH, no real lightening, baby still moving up a storm in there. So I think I'll be in this pregnancy for the long haul. Feeling not bad in terms of comfort - was on my feet most of the weekend so a bit swollen, but happily the temperature has dropped here so overall I'm feeling better. Went to a cloth diapering seminar tonight and learned tons, and bought a 10 diaper prep pack...we'll see how that goes!!
Still can't believe how far along we are ladies - where did the time go!!!

I have had the worst lower back pain the past 2 days. Like sometimes taking a step makes me almost fall down it hurts so bad. I was thinking it had to do with all the work we've been doing in the nursery (and I cleaned a bunch yesterday) but it got worse last night so now I'm wondering if baby boy has dropped down some. I thought several times this weekend that my belly looked different. The only reason I'm doubting he dropped is because I don't really feel all that different? He was never super high in my ribs to begin with so I feel like it's hard to tell. I am still having heartburn but I do feel like things feel different in my belly though, like when I lay on my left side in bed. I think he's still head down though because movement is only on the top of my belly. I am short (5'1") so I think I might just have heartburn for the rest of my pregnancy no matter when he drops.
Oh and we finally got the crib and put it together! I had a snow day today, so I got a lot of organizing done as well! A friend is bringing the rest of the furniture for us the first weekend in March, so I kinda just need to wait to do a lot else.
Here's a picture of the crib!

@anonysquire: home and resting now? My bloody show started at 37 weeks with my first.
@ScarletBegonia: aww I bet you looked beautiful, I almost wish I had a wedding to go to so we could get a nice picture together without booking a whole shoot. Glad you're still semi comfortable.
@debbiei8: beautiful crib, and I love the nursery paint color. Can't wait to see it all done.
persimmon / 1198 posts
@ScarletBegonia: @Mrsjets: thanks! I really love it. And I love that it's not as tall as some of the cribs we looked at since it doesn't have legs.
I have my first cervical check today and my Group B Strep test (36w1d). I've heard they can be kinda painful, but I'm hoping my doctor is good at them/gentle. DH asked me last night if we wanted to place bets on if I am dilated or not, lol. I guess I would be surprised if I was, but we will see! I'm not sure if I'm supposed to feel any different dilated. I haven't had any contractions that I have felt at least.

So we painted our accent wall in the nursery yesterday (finally) and I love how it turned out. We still have to paint the other 3 walls (currently a yucky brown - will be a green/grey) but that won't take long. I can't wait to see how it will look all done.
Here's the wall:

@Mrsjets: wow that looks great! Love it!
@Bao: good to hear. I've heard some people complain, but hopefully it's not too bad! She was good when she checked my cervix at my first appointment to make sure it was closed, but I don't remember that being super invasive...

@debbiei8: I did have my membranes stripped at 39 weeks and that hurt like heck!

Had my my GBS today and cervical check- I'm at a solid 2cm, Rejoice!! I know it doesn't mean a heck of a lot, but it's nice that there is some progress. And to light a whole new fire under my butt to get work things wrapped up! I haven't had as much swelling this time, but have been drinking water like crazy. Blood pressure looks a lot better this time too, but I'm doing a crappy job gaining weight, so I stopped for a huge cheesy green chile bagel on my way to the next errand
@Mrsjets: so pretty! I love your nurseries!
@debbiei8: while the cervical checks aren't exactly comfortable or fun, mine wasn't painful by any means either. I'd prefer to know what's going on down there, so I definitely wanted one.

@fussygal: OMG, I think I want another! Om nom nom nom! I scarfed it before I could even think of Instragramming it's awesomeness
persimmon / 1198 posts
@lemondrop: I understand what you mean...it wasn't really painful but it definitely wasn't comfortable! 2cm is awesome though!
I am 1 cm dilated! I was really surprised! My cervix is still pretty thick (she didn't give me a number) and baby's head is at like -3. But she said my cervix is soft and anterior, which is apparently a really good position. I haven't had any contractions up to this point so she told me it's awesome I'm at this point already because I basically got there for free, haha! Some other good news is if I needed to be induced soon it would likely go well because of the positioning. It doesn't seem like I'll go early, but I'm curious to see where I am next week...I think that will be a good indication of how I'm progressing!

I've been so busy lately, with the snow days, and a million other things!
Today I had my 33 week ultrasound. Baby was a little rude, but we did see the boy parts again and he had a good heartbeat. Major thing is that he's breech/oblique, which means his head is under my left ribs and his bottom is pointed at my right hip. Just another reason to have a c section I suppose.
But, he's measuring RIGHT on track, which makes me SO very happy! He's measuring 4 lbs 15 oz, which is SMALLER than DS was when he was born at 32 weeks (6.5 lbs!) It's nice to have my GD under control with insulin, since it's keeping his measurements right on track. Such a difference this pregnancy is to both my previous ones!
My c section is still March 31 and the best part is that the Dr. that was on call last year for my loss is the one who will be doing the surgery. As the OB I saw today said, it's like it's coming full circle for me with this baby. I'm really happy about that. It gives me a happy feeling, for sure.
And, off topic, but we put in a bid for a home today! We have the closing set at March 21, which is cutting SO close to my c section, but our realtor put in a 10 day extension clause for in case this baby has a better idea. We still have until the end of May in our lease, so we're not going to actually move until long after the baby is born. It'll give us time to paint, put up a dog fence, and get a few things done in the new place before we move. I'm really hoping this house comes through for us!
All this happened today, lol. Saw the house, went to the ultrasound, and then put in the offer on the house, lol. I'm exhausted! Early bedtime for sure!

@Dandelion: Congrats! I hope the house comes through for you!
And that's great that baby is measuring on track and not too big! I don't know your whole loss story (I have gotten a general idea of what happened from previous posts) but it's good to hear you are happy/comfortable with how things are being handled this time around!

@Dandelion: Wow, how exciting about the house - crossing my fingers for you! Glad baby is measuring on track, too!

Well, I've started swelling a bit (something that was never a problem last time). It's not much, but I definitely feel it. The baby has dropped, but I have heartburn now, but it's not anywhere close to how bad it was with DD1 ... yet. She's been measuring 2 weeks ahead for a while now, so I'm not sure if that means she'll just be a big baby, or if she's going to come early... I kind of hope it's the latter
DH and I decided to start house hunting again, now that our AC decided to go out (this is after our heater had 3 different parts break in 3 months). We were going to put it off until DD1 was in kindergarten, but it seems that signs are pointing us to move now. We have a lot of (expensive) work to do before the house can go on the market, but I hope we can be in a new house before I'm off maternity leave.
@Dandelion: Congrats to all of your updates!! Great news!
pear / 1699 posts
@lemondrop: nothing like an update on the progression down there to motivate!
@debbiei8: yay for baby being in position! I had a terrible labor last time because DS was anterior.
@Dandelion: I'm so happy the GD is under control this time and what great news on the house! Good luck!
@BabyBoecksMom: ugh I'm swelling too, I just took off my rings. I know they would probably fit for a while but I hate it when they're tight. House hunting! How exciting! Good luck!
So I was supposed to have my weekly appt on Monday but I called in sick I was tired and sore from painting the day before and rescheduled for Friday.

@ScarletBegonia: I hope I go early lol but I really doubt it considering the whole FTM thing.
@Mrsjets: Ya I didn't stay long. Bloody show stopped and I am back to normal

@Dandelion: We just bought a house too! Such bad timing though. We probably wont move in til May 1, but its getting exhausting trying to clean current place and also ripping out the cabinets, carpet and repainting the new house. Yuck!!!
@Mrsjets: Ugh sorry you are sore from painting!! I rescheduled my appointment that was yesterday too. I was just too exhausted after working all night. They probably think I am such a chump lol.
watermelon / 14206 posts
Our home offer was accepted! As long as all goes well with inspections, we close on March 21.
@anonysquire: Luckily, the only things we need to do in the new place is put up a fence for the dogs and paint DS's room.
persimmon / 1198 posts
@Dandelion: Congrats! Hope all goes well with the inspections!
I found out that I tested positive on my GBS test I know it's not really a big deal in the grand scheme, but I wonder how it's going to change labor plans? Will they make me come the hospital earlier? I have my weekly appt on Tuesday, but they put all test results in an online chart so that's how I found out. I'm assuming my doctor will talk to me about it then, but I'm curious what to expect.
