March 2014 Moms come in!

@BabyBoecksMom: I hear ya on the nostalgia of all those outfits and being ready to meet the kiddo! I threw a ton of ones I know we won't use into a box already for my SIL who is due in July. All our newborn and 0-3 month stuff is washed (maybe not folded or put away, but will be) and my bag is mostly packed. Work is mostly at a place where I can drop everything if needed. Last day of real work is Wednesday, I'm getting anxious (in a good way). My MIL is coming a week from Thursday, but I don't really want to wait, although I do want that March baby

One of my good friends is due on Wednesday and is having her baby today.... her sisters keep texting me updates, she was at 8cm about an hour ago! I can't stop tapping my foot and it's making me so much more excited today, especially since they are team Green.

I had my 36 week appointment today! She said baby dropped and is really low. 1cm, 50%....getting there!

@lemondrop: hahaha I just read it! My little guy's nursery will almost match theirs (furniture wise) since we have the same crib too! I hope their post doesn't make the stock drop even more! My friend picking up the expedit for me immediately asked if I saw the post...I hadn't told her they were discontinuing them yet and she was worried they would be gone. The stock looks ok so far!

@Bao: whooo-hooo! Great news, I'm sure that makes you feel better about pregnancy not lasting forever!

@debbiei8: LOL, fingers crossed for you guys, I'm sure it will be fine. They really do have a gorgeous nursery, I'm excited to see photos of yours too!

  5. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@lemondrop: I tried telling DH that I like their wood around the expedit idea and he agreed but vetoed it since it would be more work for him LOL. Maybe I'll get him to do it some day!

I'm probably way more worried than I need to be...we can work it out with other sizes if the 2x4 sells out!

@debbiei8: And worst case, they had this link too, so while April doesn't fit into your timeline, Kallux doesn't sound like a big change either: http://gizmodo.com/heres-why-ikea-is-discontinuing-everyones-favorite-sh-1527126312
Dang, now I need an Ikea trip, maybe if my water breaks there they will give me a lifetime discount or something LOL

@Bao: ohhh progress is exciting! i wish i would be checked.. don't think they do that until 40 weeks I"m so curious because I think I've dropped.

@BabyBoecksMom: yay for clothes organizing! and thanks for the list! Don't forget @matador84 had her babe... on the side of the road no less!

I forgot to mention in my last post that baby is currently posterior. So I'm crawling around and doing a lot of leaning forward to try to flip him!

  9. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@lemondrop: yes! I know I didn't drop with A until 39 weeks but I was about the same dilated at this point last time. If I don't have to be induced I will be happy.@Mrs. Champagne: I just wish it meant more!!

  10. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@lemondrop: ya I read that...so I definitely have options if we can't get it this weekend!

If going into labor at IKEA meant a lifetime discount I would totally jump on that LOL. I love IKEA...I just wish we had one closer!

@Bao: I was at 1cm at my 36 week check, but I don't think he's very low. Although she said she could feel his head! And she didn't get me an effacement number...which I'm guessing means I'm hardly effaced at all. I hope I made progress this week...I have my 37 week appointment tomorrow!

@Mrs. Champagne: honestly if I go tomorrow and things haven't changed at all I'll be disappointed...it might be nice to not have checks since they don't give a good indication of when you'll go!

  11. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@debbiei8: do you get checked again this week? I don't again until 39 I think.

  12. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@Bao: I guess I'm not sure! I assumed I would be...but I don't know for sure! Is it standard to do it every couple weeks?

  13. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@debbiei8: I think it depends on your doctor! I got mine today because I got the strep B at the same time and when I was pregnant with A they didn't check until 39 weeks because they said it risks infection...I don't know I just go with the flow

  14. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@Bao: ya I had my GBS test last week too. I can't remember what my doctor said. I've heard the infection thing before too, so I guess I could see them not doing it!

Tonight I was walking down the stairs outside my inlaws apartment and tripped on the last step. Ugh...I twisted my ankle, which is now swollen and banged up my knee pretty good. LO is moving fine so I'm npt worried about him but adding more discomfort to this stage of pregnancy is just awful. I'm hoping the swelling in my ankle will go down tomorrow.

Such a stupid thing to do. And I'm always annoyed at dh for babying me on those stairs whenever I go up or down them. Now he's never gonna let me go there again lol.

  16. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@Dandelion: oh no glad baby is moving ok, but that sounds awful! Definitely rest up...I had a terrible ankle sprain from a fall while running a year and half ago and was in a walking boot for like 8 weeks. Hopefully yours is just minor and it just needs a little rest!

  17. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@Dandelion: scary glad baby is moving about though. Hope the ankle heals quickly. DH is always bugging me about holding railing and I always roll my eyes, too. I'll have to be more careful too though.

@BabyBoecksMom: thanks! I needed a due date refresher Look at all that pink! Must be such a cool feeling to be able to reuse outfits for #2 - oh the memories! At least I can reuse my gear

    @lemondrop: almost done work! Hooray

@Mrs. Champagne: oh no! DS was posterior and got stuck during delivery, I hope you can turn him or that he turns himself before your water breaks.

    @Bao: yay! That's a start!

@Dandelion: eek! I'm happy it's just a sprain and baby is fine, but I know how uncomfortable you probably are right now without the added pain. Try to stay off it as much as possible and ice it.

  19. Mrsjets

So DH's cousin was due Mar 8 and had her baby girl Sunday. Both are well and baby is a beauty. I'm so jealous she's no longer pregnant! My next appt is Monday Mar 3 and I'll be so disappointed if I don't have a baby by then. I've been keeping busy, moving furniture, eating spicy foods and DTD but I feel better now and have less contractions than I did a week ago. Ugh.

  20. Mrs. Champagne

    coconut / 8483 posts

@Dandelion: ah! hope you are feeling better today.. adding more discomfort at this stage would be brutal!

@Mrsjets: gah i hope he flips too! did you end up with a c section or what happened if you don't mind sharing? I've been crawling around trying to get him flipped and going to the chiropractor today. Hopefully that helps!

  21. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

My foot is sore today but there's no swelling. I go for my nst tomorrow so I'll ask the ob then if I should be doing anything more.

My knee actially hurts more from scraping it on the cement!

  22. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@Dandelion: yikes I'm glad you guys are ok though!

  23. Mrsjets

    pear / 1699 posts

@Mrs. Champagne: he was posterior and stuck, I pushed for over 4 hours and ended up with a 3rd degree lateral episiotomy and a vacuum assisted birth. Luckily I had an epidural! Recovery was very tough. My water broke at 38 weeks so I think maybe he just wasn't ready (in position) yet. Hopefully you're guy will turn!

  24. lemondrop

    bananas / 9118 posts

Wasn't thinking I would have another internal check for another week, but I guess since I was 2cm and 60% last week my doc wanted another check, this week was 3cm and "a lot thinner." He said he wouldn't be surprised to see us in the delivery room this weekend. We'll see! Mostly I'm just hoping he holds off for a March birthday!

@Mrs. Champagne: @Mrsjets: mine is posterior for most of this pregnancy. He's been twisting here and there and moving around a lot still. I'm doing some of the cow/cat stuff, but my doc says that most will turn for delivery anyway. Otherwise I figure he's sitting that way for a reason, so I refuse to panic or think about it too much

    Hey all,

I've been MIA and have tons of catching up to do!

Had a 36 week checkup w step B test and (probably final) sonogram. Baby is already 6lb 8 oz and is till have 4 and a half weeks left, yikes!

Anyway, looking forward to reading my backlog of posts. Yikes! Where did January and February go? It's getting to be baby time hope everyone is staying as comfortable as they can these days.

We're all so close! @lemondrop: I'm with you re: turning, the often will in labour. My chiros little man turned just in time to avoid interventions during her labour.

I had an us last week and confirmed this little bean is head down, then I'm pretty sure s/he dropped that night. My midwife is away until next week and my doula is out of town this weekend so I just need this baby to cook into next weeks and we're golden!

  27. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@lemondrop: wow things are progressing! Hopefully he holds out for a March birthday!

@HazelEyes: My baby was measuring almost 5 pounds at my 32 week ultrasound...I was freaking out about his size, but my doctor and a lot of people here said the ultrasounds exaggerated their babies' sizes, so baby might be a bit smaller than that!

I had my 37 week appointment yesterday and it was fine. No internal check, so not sure where I am there. Although after a week of not having the sharp stabs on my cervix they were back really bad yesterday. My doctor said it could be my cervix changing, or it's his head hitting my public bone...but it's definitely not on the bone, so I'm not sure what it is.

I'm a little freaked out because I lost 3 pounds in a week. Baby is measuring on track, but my mom said she lost several pounds right before she went into labor with all of her kids. I need him to wait a week...I'm not ready to have a baby this week and my mom is at a conference until this weekend! I started freaking out about his room and the house yesterday so when DH got home we got some work done. Then we went and saw The Lego Movie, which was really good and it was nice to just relax a bit!

At my appointment DH and my doctor were joking about me being an overachiever in pregnancy because it has been so by the book and I've felt good almost the entire time. My doctor thinks I'll walk in at 39 weeks ready to show her how to have a baby, LOL! We will see...I wouldn't mind going at 39 weeks that's for sure

  28. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

My foot is way better today. I can put a lot more pressure on it than I did yesterday. I'm glad, cause I didn't want to feel that way for long! The coughing is bad enough!

I go for my first NST this morning. DH is going with me to keep me company. I'm sure everything will be fine.

  29. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@debbiei8: I lost 3 pounds a couple weeks ago. I was told to eat more, lol. But, I've been careful about not eating so much carbs, so I think that had a lot to do with it. I wouldn't worry too much. Different things can make your weight fluctuate from week to week, like clothes and stuff. Even going to the bathroom before you weigh in makes a difference.

  30. Mrsjets

    pear / 1699 posts

@lemondrop: yeah I wouldn't worry about it until delivery either - they usually know what to do

@HazelEyes: I also heard that u/s can be a whole pound or more off. I wouldn't worry yet!

@prettylizy: it's so stressful when they're away hey?! My dr isn't available today or tomorrow - so I would have an on call dr. My due date is Saturday do I'm hoping I go then - one can hope!

@debbiei8: so great that the pregnancy went so well! Here's hoping the delivery and recovery go just as smooth

@Dandelion: glad the ankle is better. Good luck with the test

  31. HazelEyes

    clementine / 811 posts

@debbiei8: @Mrsjets: I hope that's the case. Baby measured in the 71st and 73rd percentile at the last two u/s's so, hoping they are just hedging on the bigger side!

Also, about weight, funny you guys should say that, but at my birth class they actually mentioned that a few lb weight loss is common and often a "symptom" of progressing toward labor. I hadn't heard that one.

  32. BabyBoecksMom

    GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts

Well, I'm not sure what's going on, but the past two nights I woke up because I peed myself. I didn't even have a full bladder, but I guess she's sitting on it just the right way. It scared the heck out of me the first time because I thought my water broke.

@debbiei8: Sounds like you're definitely progressing! I lost a couple pounds the last month I was pregnant with DD1 (but still ended up being 5 days late)

@lemondrop: STOP! Not fair! Not again!

  33. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@debbiei8: I lost a pound today, from last week. Dr said it was fine, since baby is still growing good, so he's not concerned, lol.

My NST went well. Everything was perfect. I have another on Monday, and then Wed I get to go to another office and meet with the Dr who will be doing my section. I'm excited to see her...I haven't seen her since last year in the hospital with S. My OB at this office said that when he called her and told her she's doing my section, she was really happy to be a part of something positive for us. So, I'm excited to go see her!

Now, I head to the diabetes clinic this afternoon. I'm curious to see if there's a difference in my weight between the two offices in one day, lol. I did eat lunch, though, so it might make a slight difference, lol.

  35. bookwormmama

    persimmon / 1198 posts

@Dandelion: my doctor wasn't concerned either. I haven't had any contractions either so I think things are staying the way they are for a bit longer. I had heard the same thing as @HazelEyes re-weight loss and a being a sign of labor at my childbirth class too, so that just freaked me out more lol! I had walked a but more the day before my appointment, but I ate like crap last week so the drop surprised me!

Glad everything was good with your NST!

Loving all the positive updates! It sounds like everyone is doing well at this stage. I'm 38w5d now - starting to get REALLY antsy!!! I still have intense moments of fear and anxiety but definitely the excitement is winning out most of the time. We have had houseguests pretty consistently the past few weeks and I've *just* seen the last ones off - SO HAPPY to be alone with my husband now to wait out the last days/weeks. As much as I love having people around I don't want to make small talk anymore when all I can think about is labour, delivery, newborns, etc!
I should go for a big walk today but i just don't see it happening. House of Cards and Raspberry Leaf Tea are just too appealing at the moment!!

  37. lemondrop

    bananas / 9118 posts

@BabyBoecksMom: Girl, my legs are CROSSED, I'm so so so not ready for this. Mild panic attack today during my work break- I NEVER have these! It will be good when it happens, and like last time I will go with the flow when it does- until then I'm trying to get as much done as I can!

  38. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

I had my 36 week appointment today (I feel like the baby of the group with my late March due date!) and everything looked excellent. He did the GBS test so we'll see next week how that comes back. We haven't had an ultrasound since the gender scan at 20 weeks and I've been super curious about her size so I asked him to guess her weight, lol. He said that he's terrible at guessing by looking, but then went on to say 7 lbs!! He said because I'm tall, I'm more likely to have a bigger-ish baby but 7 lbs at 36 weeks sounds scary so I hope he really is bad at guessing like he said, lol. After our appointment DH and I went to Target to get the rest of our registry items. My wallet is in a bit of pain but I'm glad to have everything now. Just a few more things to order online tonight and we're DONE!

Also, DH and I are going out of town this weekend (4 hours away) which I'm a teeny bit nervous about.

@lemondrop: Wow - you're already progressing so well! I hope that when they start my checks in two weeks that I'm already progressed as well as you.

@Dandelion: Glad your ankle is doing better!

@ScarletBegonia: I feel you! We had house guests this weekend and while I loooove them dearly I'm also being super crazy about spending lots of alone time with DH in our last few weeks!

@fussygal: I was away at a wedding for 3 days at 37 weeks and I was F_R_E_A_K_I_N_G out beforehand, but once we were on the road and especially when we were away, I was much more relaxed and kind of "if its gonna happen, its gonna happen" about it all. Try and enjoy your time away, and don't worry too much!

@fussygal: I'm only at 34 weeks, so you're still ahead of me!
