Had my 35 week dr appointment and nst this morning. Almost failed the nst but the little guy decided to cooperate.

I met with the dr doing my c section. She's excited to be doing it because she's the one who was with us when I delivered S so it's a nice full circle for us. If I go in labor before then it's a slim chance she'll be doing it but now the plan is c section no matter what, even though LO is no longer breech.

Only 3 weeks and 5 days to go!

So I failed my strep B. Antibiotics for me, woo hoo. I was really surprised, but doc said it was no big deal. Still.

I think Baby dropped, since I can breathe and am less uncomfortable, which is fantastic, and some BH, but no dilation yet. I know I'm still not quite 37 weeks, but it would be nice to hear I am even one cm! Even if I stay that way for a while. You guys are making me impatient!

    @Mrsjets: Congrats!!!! How beautiful!

    @Dandelion: So freaking close!!

@HazelEyes: I am feeling the same way. I am so impatient!!!

Ladies I had my 38 week appointment today and baby is finally in the right position. And I was trying to impress the midwife by pointing out where the bum is on my belly and she showed me it was actually a foot. Heres to hoping I can tell the hands from the feet when the baby actually comes out....

Oh and she asked if I am leaking fluid because my belly is measuring smaller than last week and because she said it feels tight. So now I am freaking out of course. I drink over 100 ounces of water a day but have been so much more thirsty today. Should I have had her test for amniotic fluid or something? TMI but with discharge could I be missing a slow leak?

  12. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: with ds I leaked for a week and never realized. Juat a lot of trips to the bathroom with very little coming out. I don't know why she was just asking you instead of checking for herself?? That's something she can test for if she's concerned. When do you go back? Did she send you for an ultrasound to look?

  13. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@Dandelion: That is how I have been feeling! I have seriously been drinking like a freaking maniac but feel like it never comes all out when I pee. Like I am drinking a ton more than I am voiding. Sorry to be gross. No ultrasound. Ugh now I am scared!!

  14. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

    @anonysquire: Are you swollen?

  15. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@Dandelion: Not swollen at all. Still wearing my rings and preprego clothes.

  16. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: Yeah, that's a little weird...maybe call in the morning and get a more accurate answer? Ask if you can come in to test? It's really been bugging me how dismissive they have been to you.

  17. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@Dandelion: Now I am getting all nervous. I called the midwife and she said to squat and bear down over a paper towel and see if there are leaks. But I feel like I would just pee my pants doing that. I am so glamorous!

  18. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: That's a very non-medical test, lol. My instinct is to tell you to go to L&D at your nearest hospital and ask them to check things out for you. They would probably take you more seriously, and if you're not leaking, then all's good.

  19. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@anonysquire: Ugh, sorry they aren't taking your concerns seriously again I agree that you should have someone check you out. I'm sure everything is fine, but it never hurts to have a second opinion!

  20. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@anonysquire: I agree with @Dandelion: to get checked out! So strange she didn't look into it more while you were there.

  21. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@Dandelion: @fussygal: @Bao: Maybe is it because when she asked if I have been leaking I said I don't think so, just the discharge. So they assumed I know? I don't know. Now I am convinced I have a tiny leak.

Oh and I have normal insurance but not maternity coverage. So wouldn't it be a ton of money to go in to the L&D?

  22. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

I had my 37 week appointment today and while everything looked good, I didn't pass my group B strep test Not super excited that I'll definitely have an IV, but I know it's mostly a non-issue and the doctor said they can unattached me if I want to be moving around which made me happy.

  23. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@fussygal: Oh dang I do know there are some other options like a douche that you can do instaed of the IV?

  24. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@anonysquire: I think there are a few alternatives but I'll probably just do the IV. Apparently you only need it every 4 hours during labor which isn't too bad. Also, I'm allergic to amoxicillin so they're having to use a different antibiotic for me

  25. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: No maternity coverage? Isn't that mandatory these days? Even my dad has to have it.

Check your insurance policy...you might be covered at least partially for it.

Also...no cost is worth more than a healthy LO.

  26. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@Dandelion: Well my card says something about 7500. So does that mean I pay the first 7500? I don't get insurance!

  27. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

OMG OMG UPDATE: Just did the squat test and liquid came out after I had peed. Like more than a tablespoon. But maybe I just had more urine? OMG I don't know!

  28. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

    Since I'm planning a c section for 100%, I get antibiotics, anyways...they haven't even mentioned a group b test for me. I guess they figure it's a bit moot.

  29. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@anonysquire: you really should go in!

  30. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

Isn't there a place I can buy amniotic test strips? Like petsmart? I swear I heard that. I just don't want to cry wolf yet again.

  31. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

    @Bao: To the midwife?

  32. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@anonysquire: I have a $1000 copay but it's only charged if I'm admitted. You shouldn't actually get admitted just to get checked out.

  33. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: No, to a L&D. Or call back your midwife and tell them about the leak you just had.

  34. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@anonysquire: to someone who can give you an answer!

  35. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

@Bao: Oh really? They can check me without admitting me?

  36. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

    I'm freaking out guys!!!

  37. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@anonysquire: umm don't quote me but that's what my hospital/insurance said for my own self. It could certainly be different for you but I wouldn't let that stop you from making sure everything is ok.

  38. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: Yeah, you start out in triage. That's where they check to see if you need to stay. If not, they tell you to go home.

  39. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@anonysquire: Call your midwife again. Don't worry about bugging them. If they get snippy with you, head to L&D to get some real answers.

  40. anonysquire

    cantaloupe / 6923 posts

I called them back and they said to make my way to the clinic. My entire family is at a church ceremony for the next 3 hours with no cell phones!!! Ok now I am really freaking out!
