And I kind of love this too!

Again, I think this one needs conversion if I am following all of this!

@Mrs D: I actually made my own ring sling and I used this tutorial to make the sling, as well as ordered the rings through them. https://www.mayawrap.com/n_sewsling.php It is super easy to do, so you wouldn't have to send it out to have anyone else convert it!

@Mrs D: UGH i have had crusty junk too. It is extra annoying b/c I have MAJOR under supply with my son and don't expect this pregnancy is going to be much different. What up boobs!

I get a waxy discharge, more than crusty. But I'm only 23 weeks, so maybe there's more fun to come! Can't remember if I had it with my first or not...

Still getting settled here! My first appointment with my new midwife is on Friday.

Other than that, nothing really exciting on the pregnancy front. Can't believe I'm almost 27 weeks! Yikes.

The boys are antsy for me to make us some more friends, lol. They're used to play dates and classes 4 or 5 days a week! But, they're loving Maryland and our close proximity to the beach!

Have to show off my handsome guys, lol

Hi ladies, it's been a stressful couple of weeks.. First found out baby A has only 2 vessels in cord instead of 3 so is growing slow (1pd vs baby b who was 1.11pds already)...then had echo us and found a serious heart issue likely - hlhs.. Will require 3 open heart surgeries starting shortly after birth so pretty concerned.. Already got steroids just in case but hopin can get as close to term as possible.. Ill be at dr every week and another cardio us in a month. Keep me n babies in ur prayers please

@momtimes3: could you do milkshakes and add the protein powder to them? Maybe they'd be easier to get down. Sorry you're dealing with all this, but it sounds like she's a little fighter! How many weeks are you right now?

I've been away for a long time! So I'm just going to jump back in from this page.

@momtimes3: Great news! I have friends with twins and at birth, one twin was fully two pounds heavier than the other - big twin was in the 86th percentile for singletons born at his gestation age (they were 34 weeks). They're 8 months now and he's still much bigger but they're both happy and healthy.

@Navy_Mommy: Look at those sweeties! Glad you're getting settled! Finding some classes would probably be a great way to meet some new people, hope that goes well!

@mrsrain: I started crying in the food court the other day reading Harry Potter - the thought of them leaving a teeny baby on the front steps in the dark made me burst into tears. It's terrible.

Things are going ok here, at least on the toddler/pregnancy front. We've got a pet situation - we thought our cat's kidney disease was flaring up but a trip to the vet revealed that she probably has cancer, so that's pretty depressing (especially since we lost another cat to the same cancer last year). In the short term we have to give her a pill twice a day, which is a nightmare because this is not a friendly cat. I'm also sort of dreading how to explain to Bennett what's happening when she inevitably dies - he talks a lot right now about how "black Lola got booboo" (he thinks our cats are named Penny, Lola, and black Lola).

For any moms that are on their 2nd (or more) or late 20's+...does this pregnancy feel uncomfortable yet? I'm 25 weeks and I feel like I'm so much more uncomfortable than last time! Not sure if it's the second pregnancy, boy vs girl, being 4 years older...anyway, I'm nervous for the third trimester!

  24. Navy_Mommy

    nectarine / 2458 posts

@ksnow: each pregnancy has felt more uncomfortable for me and from what I understand that's normal. I'm only 27, but on baby#3 (first being born in 2012). Each time round ligament pain gets worse, sciatic pain gets worse, Braxton hicks get worse. I don't think it's so much being older but general repeated strain on the body.

  25. Lilbear

    apricot / 451 posts

@ksnow: YES!!! I'm 33, so I don't totally fit into your description, but my first pregnancy with my daughter (age 30-31) was a total breeze. This time I'm so achy all the time, starting right before 20 weeks. Like, I'm grunting and rolling to get off the couch, which is insane, because my belly is not that big just yet! I also have had a return of the nausea this past week - sarcastic hooray!!! Lol. This time I am having a boy, so I have been wondering too if it's an opposite gender issue or just a second pregnancy issue. This boy is also measuring 1.5 weeks ahead, so I think his bigger size may be playing a bit of a role in my uncomfortableness as this pregnancy progresses. I'm starting to get nervous about whether I can survive working up until my due date!

Hi all! I'm a March mama that has been lurking and finally decided to join in the chat. I'm due with di-di boys on March 17.

@momtimes3: Keep being strong from your little girl! And it's great that they are seeing you do much, they should be able to keep up on her condition that way. I'll be thinking of you.

@Navy_Mommy: This is going to be creepy but I'm a naval civil servant and think I recognize those rocks. Does this photo look familiar?

Marchtwinmama thanks n congrats on ur twins!! I saw my two today in 3D n was awesome seeing their faces so clearly do they expect u to go earlier than edd? Ill be lucky to hit 38 wks (only 11 more wks yikes lol)

  30. ksnow

    apricot / 371 posts

@Navy_Mommy: that's scary to know if we have a third it will be even worse oy

@Lilbear: yes I'm grunting and rolling over in bed already feels like a chore! And pelvic pressure is nuts! I feel like someone kicked me. Guess muscles down there didn't quite recover even given 3+ years.

  31. Navy_Mommy

    nectarine / 2458 posts

@ksnow: the Braxton hicks kill me. I didn't get any with my first. A few here and there with my second. But they're constant this time.

  32. momtimes3

    cherry / 109 posts

I dont think I've experienced braxton hicks.. What does it feel like? At what point do you need to do kick counts?

  33. ksnow

    apricot / 371 posts

@Navy_Mommy: oh yeah, i got braxton hicks a few times with my first, but mostly just towards the end. Or when I was overdoing at the gym and they'd stop as soon as I did. This time they started at like 15 weeks, what the heck.

  34. ksnow

    apricot / 371 posts

@momtimes3: Braxton Hicks (to me) just feels like your whole stomach tightening up....maybe like a period cramp but all over your stomach. I've never really counted kicks, I just feel okay so long as I feel them every day about the same...

  35. Alivoo01

    wonderful olive / 19353 posts

@momtimes3: Yay for a great appointment and on schedule growth!

@erinbaderin: Sorry to hear about black Lola!

@ksnow: I was uncomfortable pretty early on and was worried because I was like man! I'm still in my 1st trimester and if I'm this uncomfortable already, what's 3rd trimester going to be like?! I feel better in the 2nd trimester, but maternity panels aren't feeling as comfy as they did with my 1st pregnancy. I loved them then. I'm also getting random heartburn which is driving me crazy! Getting up from a sitting position or bending over to put on shoes is starting to get difficult.

Guess we'll see how things go with the 3rd trimester!

@MarchTwinMama: Welcome and congrats on your twin boys!!

  36. MarchTwinMama

@momtimes3: I haven't been told I will go early. My OB won't let me go past 39 weeks. Our goal has always been to get to 36 weeks. It sure is sneaking up on me! Have you been told anything about bedrest potential, etc?

@Navy_Mommy: It is a small world!! I actually got married at the lookout in the photo I posted. Let me know if you need any recommendations of places to eat, things to do in the area. These are my first two kiddos - maybe we can get together for some playdates when they arrive!

  37. sailgrl18

    cherry / 127 posts

@ksnow: 34 here and had my second at 32. I'm sore but in different places than with my first. With my first my ribs absolutely killed early on and by this point I was in PT because I was getting shooting pain. This time the baby is so low and I have absolutely no rib pain but the round ligament pain is just awful and I have to pee so much more frequently. I was talking to a coworker who has 3 kids 2 and 5 year gaps. The one with the two year gap was really hard but the 5 year gap one was easier despite the fact that she was in her late 30s. Her body just had more time to heal in between.

Marchtwinmama: i see high risk dr every two weeks and a cardiologist as my girl twin has slow growth from a cord issue n she has a heart issue. Im on bedrest when not working much as possible to help baby girl get as much blood flow as possible to grow. Baby boy is doing well thankfully:) im basically assessed every two weeks to see if can keep them in longer... Pray i can until at least 38 wks

I am so behind on this thread! I won't do personals right now, but I love all of the pics and good updates!

I, too, have been dealing with uncomfortable pregnancy-related stuff early on... and in different ways than the first! Last time around I dealt with a lot of low-back pain. This time my back has been (amazingly) ok, but I have been dealing with pelvic issues. It feels like the right side of my pelvis gets "popped" slightly out of place. Fun times. I have started doing some light yoga before bed (cat cow and some similar positions), and this seems to help a little. Lots of heartburn (but only at bedtime), and sleep issues. BUT I have not needed pillows under my sides this time (at least not yet).
